1Repurposing vitamin D for treatment of human malignancies via targeting tumor microenvironment显示文摘Tumor cells along with a small proportion of cancer stem cells exist in a stromal microenvironment consisting of vasculature, cancer-associated fibroblasts, immune cells and extracellular components.Recent epidemiological and clinical studies strongly support that vitamin D supplementation is associated with reduced cancer risk and favorable prognosis. Experimental results suggest that vitamin D not only suppresses cancer cells, but also regulates tumor microenvironment to facilitate tumor repression. In this review, we have outlined the current knowledge on epidemiological studies and clinical trials of vitamin D. Notably, wesummarized and discussed the anticancer action of vitamin D in cancer cells, cancer stem cells and stroma cells in tumor microenvironment, providing a better understanding of the role of vitamin D in cancer. 2Numerical study of hydrofoil surface jet flow on cavitation suppression显示文摘Cavitation caused vibration and noise of hydraulic machinery. To some extent,cavitation made fatigue damage in advance. Many scholars found that the re-entrant jets were the reasons of the shedding of cavities. To suppress cavitation,based on the idea of blocking the re-entrant jets,a special surface flow structure of 2D hydrofoil was proposed. The through-hole was made in the proper position of the hydrofoil. The incoming flow can outflow from this jet-hole automatically depending on the pressure difference between pressure side and suction side. Re-entrant jet growth can be weakened by optimizing the jet-hole geometry. Based on the standard k-ε turbulence model and Schnerr & Sauer cavitation model,under different cavitation numbers( σ) and jet-angles( β) for NACA0066( 2D) hydrofoil with 8° angles of attack,cavitation field numerical analysis was carried out. The results show that 2D hydrofoil cavitation flow had a strong unsteadiness. Making a jet-hole at the junction between the re-entrant jet and cavity can effectively minimize cloud cavitation. For a certain cavitation condition,optimal jet-angles( β) can be obtained to control cavitation growth. For the same β,the effects of cavitation suppression were changed with different cavitation numbers( σ). 3Rabdosia serra alleviates dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis in mice through anti-inflammation,regulating Th17/Treg balance,maintaining intestinal barrier integrity,and modulating gut microbiota显示文摘Rabdosia serra(R.serra),an important component of Chinese herbal tea,has traditionally been used to treat hepatitis,jaundice,cholecystitis,and colitis.However,the chemical composition of R.serra and its effect against colitis remain unclear.In this study,the chemical composition of the water extract of R.serra was analyzed using ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with a hybrid linear ion trap quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer(UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS).A total of 46 compounds,comprising ent-kaurane diterpenoids,flavonoids,phenolic acids,and steroids,were identified in the water extract of R.serra,and the extract could significantly alleviate dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis by improving colon length,upregulating anti-inflammatory factors,downregulating proinflammatory factors,and restoring the balance of T helper 17/T regulatory cells.R.serra also preserved intestinal barrier function by increasing the level of tight junction proteins(zonula occludens 1 and occludin)in mouse colonic tissue.In addition,R.serra modulated the gut microbiota composition by increasing bacterial richness and diversity,increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria(Muribaculaceae,Bacteroides,Lactobacillus,and Prevotellaceae_UCG-001),and decreasing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria(Turicibacter,Eubacterium_fissicatena_group,and Eubacterium_xylanophilum_group).Gut microbiota depletion by antibiotics further confirmed that R.serra alleviated colitis in a microbiota-dependent manner.Overall,our findings provide chemical and biological evidence for the potential application of R.serra in the management of colitis.Hongyi Li Yi Wang Shumin Shao Hui Yu Deqin Wang Chuyuan Li Qin Yuan Wen Liu Jiliang Cao Xiaojuan Wang Haibiao Guo Xu Wu Shengpeng Wang 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,6:4

6Studies of antioxidant performance of amine additives in lubricating oil using 3D-QSAR显示文摘Available model of 3D-quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR, the method of TopomerCoMFA) has been used to establish relationship between antioxidant performances of lubricating oil (trimethylolpropane trioleate, TMPTO) with 15 kinds of amine additives and its molecular structure. Correlation coefficient of the cross-validation (include internal q2 and external qpred 2 ) and conventional correlation coefficient showed the model to be both stable and good predictive. The electron-donating group and larger steric effects group are adopted at the para-position or meta-position of amido on the benzene ring, and suitably decreasing the branch chain near the para-position, these indicate that the antioxidant performance of amine additives can be enhanced. 8Bioapplications Manipulated by AIEgens with Nonlinear Optical Effect显示文摘The modern medicine requires precise diagnostic techniques while the fluorescent imaging shows great potential in such applications due to its excellent sensitivity and high resolution.However,conducting fluorescent imaging in deep-tissue is not so easy because most luminogens show short-wavelength excitation,which may undergo severe light scattering by the bio-tissue.The marriage of fluorescent imaging with nonlinear optical(NLO)effect can alleviate such adverse effects by utilizing NIR laser to reduce light scattering.On the other hand,scientists are enthusiastic in pursuing luminescent materials,which can match well with NLO application.Aggregation-induced emission(AIE)materials exhibit huge advantages in such aspect not only because of its high luminescent efficiency in aggregate state but also due to its excellent photo-stability(a key factor to meet laser application because of its ultrahigh energy density).Inspired by this,many interesting and meaningful works have sprung up based on AIE luminogens with NLO effect in recent years,and for such reason,it motivates us to summarize them to give a systematic presentation.Here,we first give a brief introduction of the principle of NLO effect.Secondly,the strategies for improving the NLO effect of AIE materials,such as increasing molecular conjugation,introduction of donor-acceptor effect,induction of centrally asymmetric array of AIE molecules in crystals and introduction of intermolecular interactions are clarified.In the final part,we also present the multiple applications of AIEgens with NLO effect in cell imaging,deep-tissue tumor and brain blood vessel imaging and photodynamic therapy.We believe,with this review,the topic will attract more attention from the scientists in multi-science field to accelerate the development of AIE materials in biomedical applications.HAO Yuxuan XU Shengpeng CHEN Ming QIAN Jun TANG Ben Zhong 2021Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2021,37,1:0
9Identifying Qingkailing(清开灵)ingredients-dependent mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor-axiation“π”structuring module with angiogenesis and neurogenesis effects显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the functional role of the drugdependent mesenchymal-epithelial transition(Met)-axiation'π'structural module of neurogenesis after processing by three components of Qingkailing injection in neurogenesis and angiogenesis in cerebral ischemia.METHODS:We used a Glutathione S-transferase(GST)-pull down assay,isothermal titration calorimetry assay,and other related methods to identify the relationships among Met,inositol polyphosphate phosphatase like 1(Inppl1),and death associated protein kinase 3(Dapk3)in this allosteric module.The biological effects of the modules of neurons generation composed of Met,Inppl1,and Dapk3 were measured through Western blot,apoptosis analysis,and double immunofluorescence labeling.RESULTS:The GST-pull down assay revealed that proline-serine-threonine rich domain of Met binds to the Src homology domain of Inppl1 to form a protein-protein complex;Dapk3 with a C-terminal domain interacts weakly with the protein kinase C domain of Met in the intracellular region.Thus,we obtained a“π”structuring module considered a neural regeneration module.The biological effects of angiogenesis and neurogenesis modules composed of Met,Inppl1,and Dapk3 were also verified.CONCLUSION:The study suggested that understanding the functional modules that contribute to pharmaceutics might provide novel signatures that can be used as endpoints to define disease processes under stroke or cerebral ischemia conditions.CHENG Kunming YUAN Jianan LIU Jun ZHANG Shengpeng XU Qixiang XIE Yong ZHAO Jingfeng ZHANG Xiaoxu TANG Xudong ZHENG Yongqiu WANG Zhong 2024Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2024,44,1:0
