| 1 | Stable Isotopes in Precipitation in Xilin River Basin,Northern China and Their Implications显示文摘Under the increasing pressure of water shortage and steppe degradation,information on the hydrological cycle in steppe region in Inner Mongolia,China is urgently needed.An intensive investigation of the temporal variations ofδD andδ1 8O in precipitation was conducted in 2007-2008 in the Xilin River Basin,Inner Mongolia in the northern China.TheδD andδ1 8O values for 54 precipitation samples range from+1.1‰to-34.7‰and-3.0‰to -269‰,respectively.This wide range indicates that stable isotopes in precipitation are primarily controlled by different condensation mechanisms as a function of air temperature and varying sources of vapor.The relationship between δD andδ1 8 O defined a well constrained line given by δD =7.89 δ18O+9.5,which is nearly identical to the Meteoric Water Line in the northern China.The temperature effect is clearly displayed in this area.The results of backward tra- jectory of each precipitation day show that the vapor of the precipitation in cold season(October to March)mainly originates from the west while the moisture source is more complicated in warm season(April to September).A light precipitation amount effect existes at the precipitation event scale in this area.The vapor source of precipitation with higher d-excesses are mainly from the west wind or neighboring inland area and precipitation with lower d-excesses from a monsoon source from the southeastern China. | WU Jinkui DING Yongjian YE Baisheng YANG Qiyue HOU Dianjiong XUE Liyang | 2012 | Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,5: | 9 |
| 2 | Quantitative evaluation of DNA damage caused by atmospheric and room-temperature plasma (ARTP) and other mutagenesis methods using a rapid umu-microplate test protocol for microbial mutation breeding显示文摘Mutagenesis is an important technique for microbial mutation breeding.As the source of mutations,DNA damage extent is a key indicator for the effectiveness of mutagenesis.Therefore,a rapid and easy DNA damage quantification method is required for the comparison of mutagenesis effects and development of mutagenesis tools.Here,we used the umu-microplate test system to quantitatively compare the DNA damage strength caused by atmospheric and room-temperature plasma(ARTP)and other traditional mutagenesis methods including:ultraviolet radiation(UV),diethyl sulfate(DES)and 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide(4-NQO).The test strain of Salmonella typhimurium TA1535/pSK1002 was used to monitor the time-course profile of b-galactosidase activity induced by DNA damage caused by different mutagenesis methods using a microplate reader.The umu-microplate test results showed that ARTP caused higher extent of DNA damage than UV and chemical mutagens,which agrees well with the result obtained by SOS-FACS-based quantification method as reported previously.This umu-microplate test is accessible for broad researchers who are lack of the expensive FACS instruments and allows the quick quantitative evaluation of DNA damage among living cells for different mutagenesis methods in the study of the microbial mutation breeding. | Yuting Huang Liyang Wang Xue Zhang Nan Su Heping Li Yoshimitsu Oda Xinhui Xing | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,11: | 4 |
| 3 | Design of readout electronics based on peak-holding circuit and multiplexer for a fast neutron spectrometer显示文摘Background Fast neutron detection is meaningful in many research fields such as space environment monitoring.A scintillating fiber array model for fast neutron detection was proposed and developed in 1980s.Aerospace applications of the model require electronics in small size.Purpose To design a dedicated electronic system to readout and process the 384-channel signals from scintillating fiber array,and to use the designed system to fabricate a neutron detector for aerospace applications.Methods With the method of nuclear recoil,fast neutron is detected by tracking recoil proton of n–p scatter in scintillating plastic fibers.Using the peak-holding circuits and multiplexers,the system size and power consumption were reduced.Results The detector fabricated with the designed system,had 34 cm×34 cm×27 cm mechanical size,20.4 kg weight,and 30.05W power consumption.Comparing to traditional waveform sampling electronics,the designed electronics was highly integrated and had a small size.The readout electronics also gave a better energy resolution of 39%in neutron detection,while the energy resolution was 43%in previous version.Conclusion In this study,a highly integrated readout electronic system was designed and verified.The detector using the system gave good performance.The designed electronics had potential development in fast neutron detection and other high energy physics detection system. | Liyang Sun Kai Zhuang Xiaoming Wang Fanjian Zeng Heng An Daowu Li Yuxiong Xue Zhiming Zhang Wei Zhou Yingjie Wang Baotong Feng Peilin Wang Xiaohui Li Jiale Cai Teng Tong Fanhui Meng Junguang Zhou Huan Huang Xuanhou Hu Xiubo Qin | 2018 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2018,2,1: | 1 |

| 5 | Reverse engineering a predictive signature characterized by proliferation,DNA damage,and immune escape from stage I lung adenocarcinoma recurrence显示文摘Identifying early-stage cancer patients at risk for progression is a major goal of biomarker research.This report describes a novel 19-gene signature(19-GCS)that predicts stage I lung adenocarcinoma(LAC)recurrence and responseto therapy and performs comparably in pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PAC),which shares LAC molecular traits.Kaplan-Meier,Cox regression,and cross-validation analyses were used to build the signature from training,test,and validation sets comprising 831 stage I LAC transcriptomes from multiple independent data sets.A statistical analysis was performed using the R Ianguage.Pathway and gene set enrichment were used to identify underlying mechanisms.19-GCS strongly predicts overall survival and recurrence-free survival in stage I LAC(P=0.002 and P<0.001,respectively)and in stage l-ll PAC(P<0.0001 and Pv0.0005,respectively).A multivariate cox regression analysis demonstrated the independence of 19-GCS from significant clinical factors.Pathway analyses revealed that 19-GCS high-risk LAC and PAC tumors are characterized by increased proliferation,enhanced sternness,DNA repair deficiency,and compromised MHC class I and II antigen presentation along with decreased immune infiltration.Importantly,high-risk LAC patients do not appear to benefit from adjuvant cisplatin while PAC patients derive additi onal ben efit from FOLFIRINOX compared with gemcitabi ne-based regimens.Whe n validated prospectively,this proof-of-c on cept biomarker may con tribute to tailoring treatment,recurrence reduction,and survival improvements in early-stage lung and pancreatic cancers. | Jiannan Yao Xinying Xue Dongfeng Qu C.Benedikt Westphalen Yang Ge Liyang Zhang Manyu Li Tianbo Gao Parthasarathy Chandrakesan Kenneth J.Vega Jun Peng Guangyu An Nathaniel Weygant | 2020 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,6: | 0 |
| 6 | Engineered human spinal cord-like tissues with dorsal and ventral neuronal progenitors for spinal cord injury repair in rats and monkeys显示文摘Transplanting human neural progenitor cells is a promising method of replenishing the lost neurons after spinal cord injury (SCI), but differentiating neural progenitor cells into the diverse types of mature functional spinal cord neurons in vivo is challenging. In this study, engineered human embryonic spinal cord-like tissues with dorsal and ventral neuronal characters (DV-SC) were generated by inducing human neural progenitor cells (hscNPCs) to differentiate into various types of dorsal and ventral neuronal cells on collagen scaffold in vitro. Transplantation of DV-SC into complete SCI models in rats and monkeys showed better therapeutic effects than undifferentiated hscNPCs, including pronounced cell survival and maturation. DV-SC formed a targeted connection with the host’s ascending and descending axons, partially restored interrupted neural circuits, and improved motor evoked potentials and the hindlimb function of animals with SCI. | 7 | Potential of natural medicines for treatment of osteoporosis:a narrative review显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To organize the fragmented information available in the literature to describe and summarize the extracts used by natural medicines in the treatment of bone loss,and to provide evidence and support for the potential use of natural medicines in the treatment of osteoporosis.METHODS:A literature survey for relevant information regarding the osteogenesis of Dongkuiguo(Fructus Malvae Verticillatae),Machixian(Herba Portulacae Oleraceae).etc.,was conducted using PubM ed,ScienceDirect,MEDLINE,Springer LINK and Google Scholar electronic databases from the years 2000-2020.RESULTS:Dongkuiguo(Fructus Malvae Verticillatae),Machixian(Herba Portulacae Oleraceae).etc.,both inhibit the activity of osteoclasts and reduce bone resorption by regulation of signaling pathways through interacting with signaling molecules.CONCLUSIONS:In this review,the current knowledge of the novel medicines with osteogenesis properties were summarized and their potential in the treatment of bone loss were demonstrated,but the lack of research on the regulation of the signaling pathway’s mechanism of action,and the corresponding theoretical basis for the application of natural medicines in clinical osteoporosis,made it difficult to be widely applied and promoted in clinical practice.Further experiments with some of the medicines and the mechanisms is needed to realize their potential as osteoporosis treatments. | XUE Nannan JIA Liyang LI Qiyan | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,1: | 0 |
