| 1 | Asiatic acid inhibits lung cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo by destroying mitochondria显示文摘Asiatic acid(AA), a pentacyclic triterpene found in Centella asiatica, displays significant antiproliferative effects on cancer cells in vitro although the underlying mechanism of this effect remains unknown. This study investigated the efficacy and mechanism of action of AA against lung cancer both in vivo and in vitro. Using the MTT assay, AA was found to induce apoptosis in a dose- and timedependent manner, an effect enhanced by pretreatment with an autophagy inhibitor. It also elevated expression of microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3(LC3) and decreased the expression of p62.Furthermore, exposure to AA resulted in collapse of the mitochondrial membrane potential and generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS), suggesting mitochondria are the target of AA. In the mouse lung cancer xenograft model, oral administration of AA significantly inhibited tumor volume and weight accompanied by significant apoptosis of lung cancer cells. In addition, it led to a significant decrease in the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA). | 2 | Facile synthesis of hierarchical Na2Fe(SO4)2@rGO/C as high-voltage cathode for energy density-enhanced sodium-ion batteries显示文摘Fe-based sulfates are ideal cathode candidates for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) owing to their high operating voltage and low cost but suffer from the nature of poor power performance. Herein, a hierarchical porous Na2Fe(SO4)2@reduced graphene oxide/carbon dot(Na2Fe(SO4)2@rGO/C) with low carbon content(4.12 wt%) was synthesized via a facile homogeneous strategy benefiting for engineering application,which delivers excellent sodium storage performance(high voltage plateau of 3.75 V, 85 m Ah g-1 and330 Wh kg-1 at 0.05 C;5805 W kg-1 at 10 C) and high Na+diffusion coefficient(1.19 × 10-12 cm2 s-1).Moreover, the midpoint voltage of assembled full cell could reach 3.0 V. The electron transfer and reaction kinetics are effectively boosted since the nanoscale Na2Fe(SO4)2 is supported by a robust crosslinked carbon matrix with rGO sheets and carbon dots. The slight rGO sheets sufficiently enhance the electron transfer like a current collecter and restrain the aggregation, as well as ensure smooth ion channels. Meanwhile, the carbon dots in the whole space connect with Na2Fe(SO4)2 and help rGO to promote the conductivity of the electrode. | 7 | EFFECT OF STRESS-INDUCED REACTIONS ON MORPHOLOGICAL STRUCTURE AND PROCESSABILITY OF PVC DURING PAN-MILLING显示文摘The effect of pan-milling on morphological structure, processability and properties of PVC was studied through SEM, FTIR, granulometer, GPC and mechanical properties test in the hope of gaining ease in operation, needless of plasticizers, a clean and efficient route for improving the processability of PVC through stress-induced reactions,fulfilling the idea of 'plasticizing PVC by itself'. | 12 | Differential Expression of Rice Valine-Qlutamine Gene Family in Response to Nitric Oxide and Regulatory Circuit of OsVQ7 and OsWRKY24显示文摘The functional diversity of plant valine-qlutamine(VQ) proteins is closely associated with their partners WRKY transcription factors, and also with a complex network of signaling pathways that mediated by hormone molecules. We reported genome-wide expression profiles of differentially expressed rice VQ genes under nitric oxide(NO) treatment based on a microarray analysis. Cluster analysis of expression patterns revealed that some VQ genes and WRKY genes shared similar expression trends. Prediction of cis-elements showed that W-box or W-box-like sequences were overrepresented within the promoters of most of NO-responsive VQ genes. In particular, the similarly expressed Os VQ7 and Os WRKY24 showed great induction upon NO triggering. Transient expression assay and chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis demonstrated that OsWRKY24 was specifically bound to the promoter regions of Os VQ7 and Os WRKY24 itself, which contain multiple copies of W-box or W-box-like cis-elements. Yeast-two-hybrid assay indicated that OsWRKY24 can interact physically with OsVQ7 through the C-terminal of WRKY domain. The results suggested that OsVQ7 and OsWRKY24 may form an auto-and cross-regulation circuit that is required for tight regulation and fine-tuning of physiological processes they are involved in. | 15 | Identification and fine mapping of a fertility restorer gene for wild abortive cytoplasmic male sterility in the elite indica rice non-restorer line 9311显示文摘The wild abortive(WA)-type cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS)derived from the wild rice species Oryza rufipogon Griff.is used widely in three-line indica hybrids.The identification and mapping of restorer of fertility(Rf)genes aided in the development of WA-type hybrids.Here we report that testcross F1 plants from the WA-type CMS line and 9311 exhibited stainable pollen grains with no seed set,indicating that 9311 carries minor-effect Rfs for WA-type CMS.We developed an advanced backcross population consisting of plants harboring small regions of donor chromosomal segments from 9311 in the WATianfeng A genetic background with moderate seed setting rates.Genetic analysis showed that the pollen fertility levels of the backcross individuals are governed by a single gene from 9311 that we named Rf19(t).By use of the RICE 40 K gene chip,three introduced segments were identified in the fertile lines,and a candidate region spanning 4.37–8.29 Mb on chromosome 1 was identified for Rf19(t).Finally,Rf19(t)was fine-mapped to a region of 90 kb between the DNA marker loci STS1-163 and STS1-183,in which eight ORFs were predicted.Also,using relative expression analyses,comparative sequence analyses and functional domain analyses,we identified LOC_Os01g10530 as the most likely candidate gene for Rf19(t).Furthermore,Rf19(t)was found to function in fertility restoration,most probably by regulating the degradation of m RNA transcribed from the mitochondrial gene WA352.These results increase our knowledge of fertility restoration in WA-type CMS lines and will facilitate the development of high-quality pairs of WAtype CMS and maintainer lines. | Zuopeng Xu Yuanyue Du Xixu Li Ruixuan Wang Zhi'ai Chen Xiangqiang Zhao Qiaoquan Liu Shuzhu Tang Honggen Zhang | 2023 | The Crop Journal2023,11,3: | 0 |
| 16 | MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF OZONIZED HDPE FILLED WITH SERICITE-TRIDYMITE-CRISTOBALITE显示文摘The mechanical properties of ozonized high density polyethylene (HDPE) blended with sericite-tridymitecristobalite (STC) were studied in this paper. The experimental results show that some oxygen containing polar groups are introduced on the molecular chain of HDPE through ozonization, the compatibility between HDPE and STC is thus improved, the mechanical properties of the blend are markedly enhanced. Compared with untreated HDPE/STC (60/40)blend, the yield strength and notched impact strength of ozonized HDPE/STC (60/40) blend are increased from 27.0 MPa to 29.5 MPa and from 2.8 kJ/m2 to 13.3 kJ/m2, respectively, the notched impact strength is close to that of HDPE (13.6 kJ/m2),the yield strength is in excess of 3.9 MPa of that of HDPE.
