| 4 | A new-generation sand and dust storm forecasting system GRAPES_CUACE/Dust:Model development,verification and numerical simulation显示文摘Based on the new-generation Global/Regional Assimilation and PrEdiction System(GRAPES) developed by the Numerical Prediction Research Center,China Meteorological Administration and the Chinese Unified Atmospheric Chemistry Environment for Dust Atmospheric Chemistry Module(CUACE/Dust) developed by the Centre for Atmosphere Watch and Services(CAWAS) of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences(CAMS) ,the China sand and dust storm forecasting system GRAPES /CUACE-Dust model has been established.The latest data of land desertification,optical properties of China sand and dust aerosols,daily soil moisture and snow cover over China main land was introduced in this system.The system showed good performance in mass conservation.The comparisons of real-time prediction outputs with surface observations and aerosol indices derived from TOMS ozone spectrophotometers(TOMS AI) indicate that the model can predict the outbreak,development,transport and depletion processes of sand and dust storms accurately over China and the East Asian region.The system makes real-time quantitative prediction of a series of elements including sand and dust injection from the surface,dry and wet deposition amount,dust concentration and optical depth.We selected 7 major dust storms occurring in April 2006 and analyzed the spatiotemporal distribution patterns of dust emission,dry and wet deposition and atmospheric load in this paper.The results showed that about 225 million tons of dust were emitted into the atmosphere from the deserts over east Asia in that month.The 3 major sand and dust sources were just as the following:The deserts in northern Inner Mongolia and the boundary area around China-Mongolia were the first dust sources with a contribution of 153 million tons accounting for 68%of the total emission.The Taklimakan Desert ranked second and contributed approximately 40 million tons accounting for 17%of the dust emission.The Onqin Daga Sandland emitted about 15 million tons or 7%of the total emission.The contributions from other deserts,sandy lands and abandoned farmlands were about only 8%of the total dust emission.The total deposition over the East Asian region in April 2006 was 136 million tons.The regional distribution of dust deposition showed that the 3 major sources were also the major deposition areas.The deposition amount in the 3 major sources accounted for 78%of the total with about 135 million tons falling back to the source regions.The secondary deposition area was the China mainland downriver,where more than 2 million tons deposited accounting for 16%of the total deposition.The deposition over the region east of 120°E including China off-shore regions,Korean Peninsula,Japan and the West Pacific took only 6%of the total deposition,which was about 850000 tons.The analysis on dry and wet deposition showed that dry deposition dominated in the process,accounting for 94%of the total sand and dust depositions in the period and wet deposition only was around for 6%,since it was generally dry with less rainfall over northern China in April. | WANG Hong GONG ShanLing ZHANG HongLiang CHEN Yong SHEN XueShun CHEN DeHui XUE JiShan SHEN YuanFang WU XiangJun JIN ZhiYan | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,7: | 10 |
| 5 | A combined application of micro-vortex generator and boundary layer suction in a high-load compressor cascade显示文摘In the current study, the effects of a combined application between micro-vortex generator and boundary layer suction on the flow characteristics of a high-load compressor cascade are investigated. The micro-vortex generator with a special configuration and the longitudinal suction slot are adopted. The calculated results show that a reverse flow region, which is considered the main reason for occurring stall at 7.9° incidence, grows and collapses rapidly near the leading edge and leads to two critical points occurring on the end-wall with the increasing incidence in the baseline. As the micro-vortex generator is introduced in the baseline cascade, the corner separation is switched to a trailing edge separation by the thrust from the induced vortex. Meanwhile, the occurrence of failure is delayed due to the mixed low energy fluid and main flow. The synergistic effects between the micro-vortex generator and the boundary layer suction on the performance of the cascade are superior to the baseline at all the incidence conditions before the occurrence of failure, and the sudden deterioration of the cascade occurs at 10.3° incidence. The optimal results show that the farther upstream suction position, the lower total pressure loss of the cascade with vortex generator at the near stall condition. | 6 | Sini powder ameliorates the inflammatory response in rats with stress-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-B/pyrin domain-containing protein 3 pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of Sini powder for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in rats and the molecular mechanisms involved.METHODS: A rat model of stress-induced NAFLD was established by a combination of long-term tethering and feeding of a high-fat, high-calorie diet. These rats were then intragastrically administered with either simvastatin, Sini powder, or vehicle for 1 week. The body mass and field test scores for each group were recorded weekly. Serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase activities, and triglyceride, total cholesterol,and free fatty acid concentrations were measured.Liver tissue histopathology was examined on hematoxylin and eosin-stained paraffin sections and oil red O-stained frozen sections. The hepatic m RNA expression of nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),NOD-, LRR-, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing CARD(ASC), and caspase-1 were measured by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The hepatic protein concentrations of NF-κB and NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, interleukin-1β(IL-1β), interleukin-6(IL-6), and the serum concentrations of IL-1β and IL-6 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS: Compared with the Blank group, rats in the Compound model group showed significant pathologic manifestations of NAFLD, and the expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1βand IL-6 were significantly higher(all P < 0.01). Both simvastatin and Sini powder significantly ameliorated the NAFLD pathology and the abnormal expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-6(all P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Sini powder inhibits the inflamma-tory response in rats with NAFLD, which is mediated by NF-κB/NLRP3, IL-1β, and IL-6, reduces the effects of psychological stress, and improves lipid metabolism. | 8 | Study on semi-active control of mega-sub controlled structure by MR damper subject to random wind loads显示文摘The recently proposed mega-sub controlled structure (MSCS), a new type of structure associated with the design and construction of super-tall buildings, has attracted the attention of designers for use in enhancing the control effectiveness in mega-frame buildings. In this paper, a dynamic equation and method to assemble parameter matrixes for a mega-sub controlled structure under random wind loads is presented. Semi-active control using magnetorheological dampers for the MSCS under random wind loads is investigated, and is compared with a corresponding system without dampers. A parametric study of the relative stiffness ratio and relative mass ratio between the mega-frame and the substructures, as well as the additional column stiffness ratio that influences the response control effectiveness of the MSCS, is discussed. The studies reveal, for the first time, that different control mechanisms exist. The results indicate that the proposed structure employing semi-active control can offer an effective control mechanism. | 9 | MRS and diffusion tensor image in mild traumatic brain injuries显示文摘Objective:To analyze characters of magnetic resonance spectroscopy(MRS) and diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) in the diagnosis of mild trauma brain injuries(MTBI) in frontal lobe and to compare with conventional magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Methods:A total of 21 patients were selected,who all aged 12-51 years old and had injury within 24 hours.Computer tomography (CT) and the Glasgow Coma Scale were used to evaluate the degree of injury.All patients were diagnosed as MTBI,and 19 had conventional MRI,MRS and DTI.The major parameters of MRS were Probe-P sequence,TE= 144 or 35 ms,and both single voxel spectrum and chemical shift imging were included.The major parameters of DTI were diffusion directions =15,b value = 1000 s/mm^2. Frational anisotropic(FA) map and average ADC map were obtained to evaluate DTI result. Positive deletion ratio was observed and the imaging changes were compared between injured side and normal side.Results:All 21 patients had CT scan and Glasgow scale.A total of 19 patients had conventional MRI.DTI and MRS.Results of CT and conventional MRI showed no significant abnormality in lobe,and Glasgow scale showed mild type.MRS result showed significant decrease in N-acetyl aspartate(NAA) and NAA/creatine(Cr) in 13 cases(68.4%) (P<0.001),and increase in lactic acid(Lac) in 7 cases(36.8%).FA mapping of the frontal lobe displayed significant changes in 7 cases(36.8%),with 5 out of the 7 cases having increase in FA value.And there was no significant difference in average ADC.Conclusions:MRS and DTI might be more sensible than other methods,such as CT and conventional MRI in diagnosis of MTBI.The particular changes were reduced NAA and increased Lac for MRS.and increased FA values for DTI. | Jing Chen Hu Jin Ying Zhang Qizhou Liang Haiyan Liao Ziyi Guo Xiangjun Han | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2012,5,1: | 6 |
| 10 | Experimental and DFT study on cerium inclusions in clean steels显示文摘To provide insights into deforming Ce-O-S-Al inclusions in steels and improving the mechanical properties,the evolution process of such harmful inclusions in clean steels was investigated by thermodynamic calculation,metallographic examination and first-principles calculation in this paper.For the tested IF steel,the thermodynamic analysis results are consistent with the calculated formation enthalpy.After Ce addition,the inclusions are transformed from Al_(2)O_(3)and TiN-Al_(2)TiO_(5)-Al_(2)O_(3)to Ce2O_(3),Ce_(2)O_(2)S,CeAlO_(3),TiN-Al_(2)TiO_(5)-Ce_(2)O_(3)and TiN-Al_(2)TiO_(5)-Ce_(2)O_(2)S composite inclusions,which can be confirmed by metallographic examination.The elastic constants were calculated,and the bulk modulus,Young's modulus,shear modulus and Poisson's ratio were evaluated by the Voigt-Reuss-Hill(VRH)approximation.All inclusions except Ce_(2)O_(3)show apparent brittleness.TiN,Al_(2)O_(3),Al_(2)TiO_(5)and CeAlO_(3)present much higher hardness than iron matrix,while the hardness of Ce2O_(3)or Ce_(2)O_(2)S is close to that of iron matrix.The thermal expansion coefficients of Ce_(2)O_(3)and CeAlO_(3)are close to that of iron matrix,whereas,Ce_(2)O_(2)S inclusion has largely different thermal expansion coefficient from iron matrix and may deteriorate the steel performance at higher temperatures.The relatively small differences between Ce inclusions and iron matrix in terms of hardness,toughness,brittleness,and thermal expansion coefficient can explain the improvement of the mechanical properties of the tested steel. | Xiangjun Liu Jichun Yang Fang Zhang Xiaoyang Fu Hongwei Li Changqiao Yang | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,4: | 6 |
| 11 | Establishment Method of a Mixture Model and Its Practical Application for Transmission Gears in an Engineering Vehicle显示文摘Highly versatile machines, such as wheel loaders, forklifts, and mining haulers, are subject to many kinds of working conditions, as well as indefinite factors that lead to the complexity of the load. The load probability distribution function (PDF) of transmission gears has many distributions centers; thus, its PDF cannot be well represented by just a single-peak function. For the purpose of representing the distribution characteristics of the complicated phenomenon accurately, this paper proposes a novel method to establish a mixture model. Based on linear regression models and correlation coefficients, the proposed method can be used to automatically select the best-fitting function in the mixture model. Coefficient of determination, the mean square error, and the maximum deviation are chosen and then used as judging criteria to describe the fitting precision between the theoretical distribution and the corresponding histogram of the available load data. The applicability of this modeling method is illustrated by the field testing data of a wheel loader. Meanwhile, the load spectra based on the mixture model are compiled. The comparison results show that the mixture model is more suitable for the description of the load-distribution characteristics. We calculated the median of the power spectral density to evaluate the noise level of different stations. After the comparison of the power spectral density of different stations and the airgun signal recognition,we found that noise level of stations with recognizable airgun source signals is lower than that of stations without recognizable signals. The largest difference of the power spectral density is 40 d B,and the smallest is 15 d B. | 13 | Experimental research on reasonable lubricant quantity for transmission gears used in high-speed train显示文摘The transmission efficiency, bulk temperature, integrate temperature, and scuffing load of test gears were investigated by a modified FZG rig. These values were measured in four different oil immersion depths with one kind of potential oil that may be used to replace the current synthetic oil in order to find the reasonable lubricant quantity that meets not only the need of transmission performance but also the need of scuffing resistance for high-speed train gears. For the purpose of evaluating the efficiency of the test gears, there were two sensors added to measure the output torque of testing gears and the compensation torque of motor. The minimum lubrication film thickness at the pitch point was gained through an EHL model. The ratio of the film thickness was used to identify the friction status when scuffing occurred at different oil levels. The results demonstrated that no matter what kind of the immersion depth was, the minimum film thickness on the pitch point was about 0.1 m and the ratio of film thickness was about 1.5 when scuffing occurred. | 15 | Controllable and switchable capillary adhesion mechanism for bio-adhesive pads: Effect of micro patterns显示文摘Some insects and animals, such as bugs, grasshoppers and tree frogs, realize their efficient adhesion mechanism to glass surface, wall and ceiling by injecting a wetting liquid thin film into the pad-substrate contact area. Their ability to control adhesion (attaching or detaching from a surface) is in many cases connected to the contact geometry and surface patterns of their attachment pads. This paper focuses on the dependence of the capillary adhesion (wet adhesion) on the micro patterns of the bio-adhesive pads. The objective is to reveal the possible mechanism for a bio-adhesive pad to control capillary force through adjusting its micro-scale surface pattern and topography. A capillary adhesion force model is built up taking account of the combined role of micro-dimple geometry as well as the wetting behavior of the confined liquid thin film. Calculated results of the apparent contact angle on the regularly micro-dimpled surfaces are compared with and in good agreement with the experimental measurements. Simulation of the capillary adhesion force reveals that it is controllable in a large mag- nitude by adjusting a dimensionless surface pattern parameter k defined as a/(a+b), where a is the dia- meter of micro dimple, and (a+b) is the side length of one pattern cell. When adjusting the parameter k more than 0.75, the capillary adhesion force could be switchable from attractive to repulsive. This effect of micro patterns on the interfacial capillary force is proved to be dominant when the pad-substrate clearance decreases to the nano/micrometer scale. | 19 | Spectral moment estimates of broadband backscattering acoustic wave in moving medium显示文摘In this paper, the signal and noise of broadband moving medium reverberation are supposed to be colored complex Gaussian processes. When the sample number is large, both the mean and variance of the first power spectral moment estimator by covariance techniques are obtained. The results obtained by D. S. ZRNIC[8], where the noise is assumed to be white,are generalized The transmitted signal is pseudo noise (PN) train and consists of two same subtrains between which the difference is only a time delay. In order to simplify the analysis,the center frequency and frequency bandwidth of both signal and noise are also assumed to be equal. It is shown that the mean of the first power spectral moment estimate is an unbiased estimate and that the variance of this estimate is dependent on (1) the correlation coefficient ρ between two subtrains, (2) the signal-to-noise ratio S/N and (3) △fTL, where △f, T and L are the frequency bandwidth, time duration and total number of pulse elements in a subtrain respectively. Three thousand groups of narrow-band-signal data obtained in field are analyzed.Then the range of ρ is determined. | 20 | BTEX anomalies used as indicators of submarine oil and gas reservoirs显示文摘It is a conventional method for petroleum prospecting to generally use paraffin hydrocarbon as basic indexes of oil and gas. This conventional geochemical technology, however, shows some limits in the prospecting as paraffin is vulnerable to influences from human and biologic activities. Consequently, BTEX (short for benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylem, which are direct biomarkers) among aromatic hydrocarbon series has been taken into account for the oil and gas prediction. Domestic and foreign study results demonstrate that BTEX is hardly disturbed and can well indicate oil and gas reservoirs. Based on measured data from a South China Sea area, the present authors have used self-developed visual assessment software for petroleum prospecting has been used to process data, strip background anomalies, and outline significant BTEX anomalies.
