Study of time-domain digital pulse shaping algorithms for nuclear signals显示文摘With the development on high-speed integrated circuit, fast high resolution sampling ADC and digital signal processors are replacing analog shaping amplifier circuit. This paper firstly presents the numerical analysis and simulation on R-C shaping circuit model and C-R shaping circuit model.Mathematic models are established based on 1st order digital differential method and Kirchhoff Current Law in time domain, and a simulation and error evaluation experiment on an ideal digital signal are carried out with Excel VBA.A digital shaping test for a semiconductor X-ray detector in real time is also presented. Then a numerical analysis for Sallen-Key(S-K) low-pass filter circuit model is implemented based on the analysis of digital R-C and digital C-R shaping methods.By applying the 2nd order non-homogeneous differential equation, the authors implement a digital Gaussian filter model for a standard exponential-decaying signal and a nuclear pulse signal. Finally, computer simulations and experimental tests are carried out and the results show the possibility of the digital pulse processing algorithms. | ZHOU Jianbin ZHOU Wei LEI Jiarong TUO Xianguo ZHU Xing LIU Yi | 2012 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2012,23,3: | 34
Environmental Geochemistry of Mining Activities in Panzhihua Region, Southwestern China显示文摘Mining activities have created huge uncovered slopes, large areas of gangue ground and extensive tailings dams. This paper presents the environmental geochemistry of mining activities in Panzhihua region. The selected elements (Ti, V, Mo. Ni. Pb. Cu) show similar distribution patterns of concentration anomaly in topsoil. These concentration anomalies are located in V-Ti-magnetite slope, gangues dam and coal mine. The distinction between anthropogenic contamination and natural background is made available by the use of the enrichment factor in this study area. The anomalies of EF were smaller than that of concentration. The results from EF show that the selected elements anthropogenic pollution (EF>1) in topsoil were located in both the coal mining area and the V-Ti-magnetite mining area. In addition, the pollution sources of selected elements came from V-Ti-magnetite, slag, gangues, coal and other pollutants from mining activities. | Teng Yanguo Institute of Environmental Sciences, State Key Laboratory of Water Environmental Simulation, Beijing Normal University, Beijing 100875 Tuo Xianguo Department of Nuclear Resources and Technology, Chengdu University of Technology, Chengdu 610059 | 2001 | Journal of China University of Geosciences2001,12,4: | 5
Neural network-based matrix effect correction in EDXRF analysis显示文摘In this paper we discuss neural network-based matrix effect correction in energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) analysis, with detailed algorithm to classify the samples. The method can correct the matrix effect effectively through classifying the samples automatically, and influence of X-ray absorption and enhancement by major elements of the samples is reduced.Experiments for the complex matrix effect correction in EDXRF analysis of samples in Pangang showed improved accuracy of the elemental analysis result. | TUO Xianguo CHENG Bo MU Keliang LI Zhe | 2008 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2008,19,5: | 4
MC simulation of a PGNAA system for on-line cement analysis显示文摘A prompt gamma neutron activation analysis system with a 252Cf neutron source for on-line cement analysis has been simulated with the MCNP code. The results indicate that the optimum arrangement is a Bi shield of 20-mm thickness,a polyethylene moderator of 50-mm thickness,a source-to-sample distance of 70 mm,and cement samples of 1200 mm×600 mm×170 mm.To absorb thermal neutrons and suppress low-energy γ-rays,the optimum-sized sheets are 150 mm×7 mm Cd,and 150 mm×15 mm Pb. | YANG Jianbo TUO Xianguo LI Zhe MU Keliang CHENG Yi MOU Yunfeng | 2010 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2010,21,4: | 4
A statistical approach to fit Gaussian part of full-energy peaks from Si(PIN) and SDD X-ray spectrometers显示文摘A new statistical fitting approach, named Statistical Distribution-Based Analytic(SDA)method,is proposed to fit single Gaussian-shaped Kαand KβX-ray peaks recorded by Si(PIN)and silicon drift detector(SDD).In this method,we use the discrete distribution theory to calculate standard deviation of energy resolutionσ.The calibration ofσand energy(E)for two detectors between the energy ranges of 4.5–26 keV are also completed by measuring characteristic X-ray spectra of nineteen types of pure elements. With the spectrum fraction(SF)parameter proposed in this paper, the SDA method can be used to resolve overlapping peaks. In measured spectra, the Gaussian part of X-ray peaks can be fitted by a Gaussian function with two parameters,σand SF.This new fitting approach is simpler than traditional methods and it achieves relatively good results when fitting the complex X-ray spectra of national standard alloy samples detected by Si(PIN)and SDD detectors.The2r values are obtained for each spectrum to assess fitting results, and the SDA fitting method gives a preferable fit for the SDD detector. | LI Zhe TUO XianGuo SHI Rui YANG JianBo | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,1: | 4
Monte-Carlo simulation of cement neutron field distribution characteristics in PGNAA显示文摘The distribution characteristics of the neutron field in cement was simulated using the MCNP code to comply with the requirements of an online Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis system.Simulation results showed that the neutron relative flux proportion reduced with increasing cement thickness. When the cement thickness remains unchanged, the reduced proportion of thermal neutrons increases to a small extent, but the epithermal, intermediate, and fast neutrons will decrease according to the geometric progression.H element in the cement mainly affects the reduction of fast neutrons and other single-substance elements,e.g.,O,Ca,56Fe,Si,and Al.It also slows down the reduction of the fast neutrons via inelastic scattering.O contributes more than other elements in the reduction of fast neutrons.Changing the H content affects the thermal, epithermal, intermediate, and fast neutrons, while changing the Ca,Fe,and Si contents only influences the thermal, epithermal, and intermediate neutrons;hence, there is little effect on the reduction of fast neutrons. | YANG Jianbo YANG Yigang LI Yuanjing TUO Xianguo LI Zhe LIU Mingzhe CHENG Yi MU Keliang WANG Lei | 2012 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2012,23,6: | 3
Heterostructured ZnFe_2O_4/Fe_2TiO_5/TiO_2 Composite Nanotube Arrays with an Improved Photocatalysis Degradation Efficiency Under Simulated Sunlight Irradiation显示文摘To improve the visible light absorption and photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide nanotube arrays(TONTAs), ZnFe_2O_4(ZFO) nanocrystals were perfused into pristine TONTA pipelines using a novel bias voltageassisted perfusion method. ZFO nanocrystals were well anchored on the inner walls of the pristine TONTAs when the ZFO suspensions(0.025 mg m L^(-1)) were kept under a60 V bias voltage for 1 h. After annealing at 750 °C for2 h, the heterostructured ZFO/Fe_2 TiO_5(FTO)/TiO_2 composite nanotube arrays were successfully obtained. Furthermore, Fe^(3+)was reduced to Fe^(2+)when solid solution reactions occurred at the interface of ZFO and the pristine TONTAs. Introducing ZFO significantly enhanced thevisible light absorption of the ZFO/FTO/TONTAs relative to that of the annealed TONTAs. The coexistence of type I and staggered type II band alignment in the ZFO/FTO/TONTAs facilitated the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes, thereby improving the efficiency of the ZFO/FTO/TONTAs for photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue when irradiated with simulated sunlight. | Kun Xiong Kunzhou Wang Lin Chen Xinqing Wang Qingbo Fan Jérémie Courtois Yuliang Liu Xianguo Tuo Minhao Yan | 2018 | Nano-Micro Letters2018,10,1: | 2
A Genetic-Algorithm-based Neural Network Approach for Radioactive Activity Prediction显示文摘In this paper,a genetic-algorithm-based artificial neural network(GAANN)model radioactivity prediction is proposed, which is verified by measuring results from Long Range Alpha Detector(LRAD).GAANN can integrate capabilities of approximation of Artificial Neural Networks(ANN)and of global optimization of Genetic Algorithms(GA)so that the hybrid model can enhance capability of generalization and prediction accuracy, theoretically. With this model, both the number of hidden nodes and connection weights matrix in ANN are optimized using genetic operation. The real data sets are applied to the introduced method and the results are discussed and compared with the traditional Back Propagation(BP)neural network, showing the feasibility and validity of the proposed approach. | WANG Lei TUO Xianguo YAN Yucheng LIU Mingzhe CHENG Yi LI Pingchuan | 2013 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,6: | 2
Analytic fitting and simulation methods for characteristic X-ray peaks from Si-PIN detector显示文摘A semi-empirical detector response function(DRF)model is established to fit characteristic X-ray peaks recorded in Si-PIN spectra, which is mainly composed of four components:a truncated step function,a Gaussian-shaped full-energy peak,a Gaussian-shaped Si escape peak and an exponential tail.A simple but useful statistical distribution-based analytic method(SDA)is proposed to achieve accurate values of standard deviation for characteristic X-ray peaks. And the values of the model parameters except for the standard deviation are obtained by weighted least-squares fitting of the pulse-height spectra from a number of pure-element samples.A Monte Carlo model is also established to simulate the X-ray measurement setup. The simulated flux spectrum can be transformed by Si-PIN detector response function to real pulse height spectrum as studied in this work. Finally, the fitting result for a copper alloy sample was compared with experimental spectra, and the validity of the present method was demonstrated. | LI Zhe TUO Xianguo SHI Rui ZHOU Jianbin | 2013 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,6: | 2
Towards an online energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analytical system for iron ore grade evaluation显示文摘Having studied some of the factors that influence the results of iron grade analysis during the iron ore production process, we established an online analytical system based on energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence. The system can determine the iron ore grade within 5 minutes. Compared with similar systems, this online analytical system has the ability to deal with the problems of poor sampling, poor on-site conditions for online iron ore analysis, variation in the moisture content of samples, the matrix effect and spectral drift. The system has been applied to iron ore grade evaluation in the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Company, China. Practical tests illustrated that the system can effectively improve iron ore grade evaluation. | LI Zhe TUO Xianguo LIU Mingzhe YANG Jianbo REN Jun | 2012 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2012,23,5: | 2

Recent developments in totally asymmetric simple exclusion processes with local inhomogeneity显示文摘A totally asymmetric simple exclusion process (TASEP) has become an essential tool in modeling and analyzing non-equilibrium systems.A wide variety of TASEP models have been developed that are motivated by real-world traffic, biological transport and by the dynamics of the process itself. This paper provides an overview of recent developments in TASEP with inhomogeneity. Some important generalizations and extensions of inhomogeneous TASEP models are reviewed, and several popular mean-field techniques used to analyze the inhomogeneous TASEP models are summarized.A comparison between similar TASEP models under different updating procedures is given.Phase separations in such disordered systems have been identified. The present status of the inhomogeneous TASEP models and areas for future investigations are also described. | LIU MingZhe TUO XianGuo WANG RuiLit JIANG Rui | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,15: | 1

Monte Carlo simulation to key parameters of a compensated neutron logger显示文摘A compensated neutron logger (CNL) is designed by using Monte-Carlo simulation for lead shield thickness, near-to-far detector spacing range, source-to-detector spacing range, and detector's effective length. The calculated results indicate that the optimum conditions for CNL are 80-mm thick lead plus 1-cm thick LiOH shield in front of the near detector, 250 mm for the near-to-far detector distance (Δr), and the source-to-detector distance (r) of 90mm. Simultaneously, some conclusion also obtained here, near/far detector counting response ratio (R) increases with the effective length of detector, R increases with the porosity for oil and water sandstones, and the oil sandstone is a bit greater than water sandstone. | TUO Xianguo YANG Jianbo MU Keliang LI Zhe LONG Qiong | 2009 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2009,20,6: | 1

Measuring energy loss of alpha particles in different vacuum conditions显示文摘In this paper, energy loss of alpha particles in different vacuum levels is studied experimentally and via theoretical analysis.A better understanding of energy loss of a particle in vacuum will help detect more exact numbers of alpha particles. Two ^(239)Pu sources are used to measure the energy loss of a particle crossing different vacuum levels (different air pressures). The experimental data are obtained from an instrument-PAM-100 developed by authors. The experimental results have shown that increasing vacuum levels will lead to more alpha residual energy but less energy loss. When the vacuum level reaches 0.04 MPa,alpha particles(^(239)Pu,5.115 MeV)will lose the energy of about 0.175 MeV with traversing 5 mm distance.Theoretical calculations have shown a good agreement with experimental results. This implies that the instrument has a high accuracy and could be applied in field work. | CHENG Yi TUO Xianguo HUANG Lianmei LI Zhe YANG Jianbo ZHOU Chuanwen SONG Qianqian | 2011 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2011,22,3: | 0
