| 3 | Risk factors associated with 90-day recurrent stroke in patients on dual antiplatelet therapy for minor stroke or high-risk TIA:a subgroup analysis of the CHANCE trial显示文摘Objective Many patients receiving dual antiplatelet therapy still had recurrent strokes.We aimed to identify factors associated with recurrent stroke at 90 days in patients receiving dual antiplatelet therapy in Clopidogrel in High-risk patients with Acute Non-disabling Cerebrovascular Events trial.Methods Patients with transient ischaemic attack or minor stroke receiving clopidogrel and aspirin in the trial were analysed in the study.The primary outcome was recurrent stroke within 90 days after the index event.Cox proportional hazard model with backward selection was used to identify factors associated with stroke.results Among 2584 patients,212(8.2%)had a recurrent stroke,216(8.4%)had a composite of stroke,myocardial infarction,or vascular death and 204(7.9%)had ischaemic stroke within 90 days.Multivariate analysis identified the following factors associated with stroke:history of hypertension with poor blood pressure control(HR,1.92;95%CI 1.22 to 3.03),the high baseline National Institute of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score of 2 and 3(2.12(1.07 to 4.21)and 4.11(2.05 to 8.22),respectively),time from onset to randomisation of<12 hours(1.47(1.12 to 1.94)),the lipid-lowering therapy(0.61(0.47 to 0.83)),the open-label aspirin dose at day 1 of≥300 mg(1.98(1.45 to 2.69)).Intracranial arterial stenosis(ICAS)was significantly associated with stroke in the sensitivity analysis(2.17(1.16 to 4.04)).conclusions The high baseline NIHSS score,hypertension with poor blood pressure control,ICAS,time from onset to randomisation of less than 12 hours and no lipid-lowering therapy were associated with stroke,suggesting that patients with identified predictors still remain to be at high risk of recurrent stroke although being under the dual antiplatelet therapy. | Runqi Wangqin Xianwei Wang Yilong Wang Ying Xian Xingquan Zhao Liping Liu Hao Li Xia Meng Yongjun Wang | 2017 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,4: | 6 |
| 4 | Terrestrial flux in sediments from the Okinawa Trough estimated using geochemical compositional data and its response to climate changes over the past 35000 a显示文摘Terrestrial supply to marginal seas is a function of interaction between land and ocean in response to climate changes.Terrestrial flux in sediments,therefore,is potential not only to reflect the paleoceanographic evolution of sedimentary basin,but also to reveal the paleoclimatic changes in source regions.Sediments from the Okinawa Trough were quantitatively partitioned into terrestrial,volcanic and biogenitic end members using constrained least-squares technique for geochemical compositional data.Combined with the density of bulk sediments and sedimentation rate,the terrestrial flux in sediments from the Okinawa Trough since the last 35 000 a was estimated.Based on surface seawater temperature(SST) and sea level changes over the past 35 000 a,the response of terrestrial flux to the climate changes was discussed.It is demonstrated that the terrestrial supply to the Okinawa Trough mainly derived from Chinese landmass via the Changjiang(Yangtze) River and controlled by sea level changes.During the post-glaciation,the terrestrial flux was the lowest in response to the highest sea level stand.During the last glacial maximum(LGM),the terrestrial flux was not so high as previously expected,indicating the arid climatic condition in source region was responsible for lowering the Changjiang River's runoff during that time.During the deglaciation,the terrestrial flux increased in response to a quick rising of the sea level,probably implicating occurrence of down-slope transport.The four events characterized by slight increase in terrestrial flux exactly correspond to the LGM,Heinrich events(H1,H2,H3),respectively. | MENG Xianwei LIU Yanguang DU Dewen SHI Xuefa | 2009 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2009,28,1: | 5 |
| 5 | The efficacy and safety of nimodipine in acute ischemic stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment: a double-blind, randomized,placebo-controlled trial显示文摘Nimodipine might be effective in subcortical vascular dementia(VaD). Its benefit in preventing further cognitive decline in patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS) and vascular mild cognitive impairment(VaMCI) remains to be established. In this multicenter, double-blind trial, we randomly assigned 654 eligible patients to nimodipine 30 mg three times a day or placebo. The primary outcome was any cognitive decline defined by the changes on the Mini-Mental State Examination(DMMSE à3) or vascular AD assessment scale cognitive subscale(DADAS-cog ! 4) at 6 months. Secondary outcomes included any distribution shift of DADAS-cog, DMMSE or cognitive improvement defined by DADAS-cog à2, or DMMSE ! 0. The primary outcome in the nimodipine group and placebo group were similar for DMMSE à3(4.18% and 7.22%, respectively, P = 0.15) and DADAS-cog ! 4(8.36% and 8.93% respectively,P = 0.88). The distribution shift of DADAS-cog and DMMSE differed significantly between the two groups(P = 0.03 and P = 0.05 respectively). Cognitive improvement occurred in 55.4% in the nimodipine group and 43.6% in the placebo group measured by DADAS-cog à2(Odds Ratio, 1.54; 95% confidence interval[CI] 1.10–2.14, P < 0.01) or 84.0% and 74.6% respectively by DMMSE ! 0(Odds Ratio, 1.79; 95% CI 1.18–2.70, P < 0.01). Nimodipine was associated with better cognitive function in the memory domain. The adverse events rate was similar in two groups. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov,NCT01220622. | 6 | High-yield preparation of robust gold nanoshells on silica nanorattles with good biocompatiblity显示文摘Although gold nanoshells are widely considered as one of the promising photothermal nanomaterials used for biomedicine, the high cost, low yield and poor stability severely limit their potential application in clinical trials.Herein, robust gold nanoshells on silica nanorattles(GSNs)were easily prepared in a high yield by an improved seedmediated method employing polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) as a stabilizing and capping agent. The present method is very simple, effective and reproducible and can well control the growth process of gold nanoshells. The as-prepared GSNs have a narrow size distribution(<10 % in standard deviation). Furthermore, the utilization rate of Au in the solution used for the growth of gold nanoshells increases by 70 %than that in previous method. The resultant GSNs have a good structural stability after placing over 6 months due to the protection of PVP. More importantly, in vivo and in vitro toxic studies indicate that the GSNs have good biocompatibility. The foraminifera shell from the Okinawa Trough strongly enriches Sr,P,Mn and Ba, enriches Li,U,Th,Sc,Co,Cu,Pb,Zn,Cr,Rb,Y,Sb and light rare earth elements,slightly enriches V,Ga,Zr,Nb,Cd and middle rare earth elements,is short of Mo,In,Sn,Cs,Hf,Ta,W,Ti,Bi and heavy rare earth elements. | 8 | Late Holocene mangrove development and response to sea level change in the northwestern South China Sea显示文摘Mangroves,widely distributed along the coasts of tropical China,are influenced by Asia monsoon,relative sea level change and enhanced human activity.To predict the impacts of future climate change on mangrove ecosystems,it can be understood by reconstructing past mangrove dynamics using proxies preserved in coastal sediments.In this study,we quantitatively partitioned buried organic matter(OM)sources,collected from a vulnerable mangrove swamp in the Qinzhou Bay of northwestern South China Sea,using a ternary end-member mixing model of δ^13C and C:N values.Mangrove-derived OM(MOM)contribution was used as a tracer for mangrove development since 2.34 cal ka BP.This information,together with paleoclimate records(i.e.,speleothem δ^18O values,sea level change,grain size parameters)and human activity,was used to divide mangrove development into three stages during the late Holocene:relative flourish(2.34-1.13 cal ka BP),relative degradation(1.13-0.15 cal ka BP)and further degradation(0.15-0 cal ka BP).Before 1.13 cal ka BP,mangroves flourished with a high MOM contribution((88.9±10.6)%),corresponding to stable and high sea level under a warm and humid climate.After 1.13 cal ka BP,rapid fall in relative sea level coupled with the strengthening of the Asian winter monsoon,resulted in mangrove degradation and MOM reduction((62.4±18.9)%).Compared with air temperature and precipitation,the relative sea level fall was the main controlling factor in mangrove development before entering the Anthropocene(the time of the Industrial Revolution).After^150 cal a BP,reclamation of mangrove swamps to shrimp ponds is the main factor causing mangrove degradation and MOM reduction. | Peng Xia Xianwei Meng Zhen Li Pengyao Zhi Mengwei Zhao Enkang Wang | 2019 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,11: | 4 |

| 10 | Sedimentary Records of Mangrove Evolution During the Past one Hundred Years Based on Stable Carbon Isotope and Pollen Evidences in Maowei, SW China显示文摘Mangroves accumulate sedimentary sequences, where cores can provide historical records of mangrove evolution with past climate change and human activity. The study traced the history of mangrove evolution during the past one hundred years in a mangrove swamp of Maowei Sea, SW China. The sedimentation rates(0.38-0.95 cm yr^(-1)) were calculated on the basis of ln(^(210)Pb_(xs)/Al) and mass depth in the core sediments. Chemical tracers, such as δ^(13)C_(org) and C:N values, were utilized to trace the contribution of mangrove-derived organic matter using a ternary mixing model. Because of potential diagenetic alteration and / or overlap in the isotopic signatures of different components, simultaneous use of mangrove pollen diagrams can help to supplement some of these limitations. Combined with mangrove pollen, mangrove evolution was reconstructed and could be divided into three stages: flourishment(1886-1905 AD), slight degradation(1905-1949 AD) and rapid degradation period(1949-2007 AD), which was consistent with previous reports. | 11 | Organic carbon isotope and pollen evidence for mangrove development and response to human activity in Guangxi(Southwest China) over the last 140 years显示文摘Mangrove degradation must reduce carbon sequestration in recent years, thereby aggravating global warming.Thus, short-term impacts of human activity on mangrove ecosystems are cause for concern from local governments and scientists. Mangroves sediments can provide detailed records of mangrove species variation in the last one hundred years, based on detailed 210 Pb data. The study traced the history of mangrove development and its response to environmental change over the last 140 years in two mangrove swamps of Guangxi, Southwest China. Average sedimentation rates were calculated to be 0.48 cm/a and 0.56 cm/a in the Yingluo Bay and the Maowei Sea, respectively. Chemical indicators(δ13Corg and C:N) were utilized to trace the contribution of mangrove-derived organic matter(MOM) using a ternary mixing model. Simultaneous use of mangrove pollen can help to supplement some of these limitations in diagenetic/overlap of isotopic signatures. We found that vertical distribution of MOM was consistent with mangrove pollen, which could provide similar information for tracing mangrove ecosystems. Therefore, mangrove development was reconstructed and divided into three stages: flourishing, degradation and re-flourishing/re-degradation period. | 13 | The regulatory pathways of distinct flowering characteristics in Chinese jujube显示文摘Flowering is the most important event in higher plants.Compared to most fruit tree species,Chinese jujube(Ziziphus jujuba Mill.),the most important member of the large,diverse Rhamnaceae family and a leading dry fruit-producing species,has unique characteristics that include a short juvenile phase and extremely fast flower bud differentiation.However,the distinct mechanism of flowering regulation in Chinese jujube is still unclear.The morphological and cytological development period of jujube flowering was first investigated,and the crucial developmental stages were defined.Flower bud differentiation in Chinese jujube took only approximately 11–13 days,which is a distinct characteristic of perennial fruit trees.Afterward,44 genes related to six flowering pathways were identified in the jujube genome and were found to be randomly distributed among 11 of the 12 chromosomes.Tissue-specific and spatiotemporal expression patterns showed that all these genes were expressed in the flowers.Overall,photoperiodrelated genes were highly expressed during flower bud differentiation.These genes were also positively responsive to photoperiod regulation and phase change processes,indicating that photoperiod-related genes play crucial roles in jujube flower bud differentiation.Under protected cultivation,ZjPIF4,a temperature-related gene,was expressed in the early stages of flowering and responded to increasing temperatures.Moreover,STRING analysis and yeast two-hybrid screening indicated that photoperiod-related(ZjCO)and temperature-related(ZjPIF4)proteins could interact with ZjFT,the key protein involved in the determination of flowering time,indicating crosstalk between photoperiodrelated pathways and ambient temperature-related pathways in jujube.This study is the first report to comprehensively analyze the flowering pathways in Chinese jujube and revealed that photoperiod-related and ambient temperature-related pathways are the main mechanisms regulating the distinct flowering process and that members of the ZjPHY family(ZjPIF4,ZjFT,and ZjCO5)are the key factors involved in the regulatory network.These results will increase our understanding of the molecular and genetic mechanisms of flowering in Chinese jujube and provide meaningful clues for the flowering regulation of other fruit tree species. | Xianwei Meng Ying Li Ye Yuan Yao Zhang Hongtai Li Jin Zhao Mengjun Liu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 3 |

| 15 | Osmium isotope of the Co-rich crust from seamount Allison, central Pacific and its use for determination of growth hiatus and growth age显示文摘Based on its microstructure, Co-rich crust A1-1 from seamount Allison, central Pacific, was scraped at averaged interval of 1.3 mm to measure osmium isotopic composition, and subsequently to establish the 187Os/188Os profile of scraping section of the crust. By observing the variation of 187Os/188Os under 10Be chronology and matching it to the well-known seawater Os isotope evolution of the past 40 Ma, two growth hiatuses (H1 and H2) occurring in the periods respectively between 13.6 and 29.6 Ma and between 8 and 9.8 Ma in the crust were recognized. According to the two hiatuses, the dating scheme for each scraped layer of the crust was suggested. For the upper layers younger than 6.8Ma, their growth ages were calibrated under 10Be chronology; for the lower layers older than 6.8Ma, their growth ages were obtained from 187Os/188Os evaluation curve by linear interpolation. Hereby, the age for the most inner layer of the crust was determined to be 39.5 Ma. | 16 | ^(210)Pb Chronology and Trace Metal Geochemistry in the Intertidal Sediment of Qinjiang River Estuary, China显示文摘Historical records of metal inputs were studied by using a sediment core collected from a sand-rich mudflat in the Qinjiang River estuary, China. 210Pb chronology was used to reconstruct the fluxes of Hg, Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Cr and As to the core site during the last 86 years. Based on the constant initial concentration model, the sedimentation rates are 1.18 cm year-1 in the top 30 cm sandy layer and 0.92 cm year-1 in the muddy bottom layer. To compensate for grain-size and mineralogy effects on metal concentra-tions, aluminum was used as the normalizing element. The enrichment factors (EF) indicate that the natural inputs had prevailed up to the early 1980s. After this period, the intensity of human activities has resulted in continual increasing trend of metals towards the surface. Recent sediment samples from the Qinjiang River estuary are found moderately enriched by Cd (EF>1.5) and slightly enriched by other metals (EF<1.5). SOD has special physiological activity and is the primary substance for scavenging free radicals in living organisms.However, the expensive and complex extraction processes, low SOD yield, as well as difficult to store at room temperature have seriously hindered its application pace. Herein, the enzyme mimetic function of Mn-doped ZnS quantum dots(QDs) was discovered. The improved Marklund and McCord method both showed that Mn-doped ZnS QDs possess intrinsic SOD-like activity.
