Impact of the water input from the eastern Qiongzhou Strait to the Beibu Gulf on Guangxi coastal circulation显示文摘Based on a comparison of synchronized temperature and salinity data collected in the eastern Qiongzhou Strait and at coastal marine stations, this study finds that, in summer, the variation in salinity near the Weizhou Island in Guangxi is similar to that in the eastern and central portions of the Qiongzhou Strait. Additionally, the Beihai Station in Guangxi exhibits a small salinity variation, whereas the Longmen and Bailongwei Stations, both of which are located far from the Qiongzhou Strait, mainly exhibit continental hydrological characteristics in summer. Moreover, a comparison of the multi-year ocean current data from the Qiongzhou Strait and ocean current observations from the Weizhou Island Station and recently installed current-measuring stations shows that the residual current in the Qiongzhou Strait flows westward in winter and summer. The numerical simulation results also indicate that water from the eastern Qiongzhou Strait enters the Beibu Gulf. The characteristics of the temperature and salinity distributions and analyses of the residual currents further confirm that the western Guangdong coastal current is the main source of the westward transport of water in the Qiongzhou Strait. The primary driver of the formation of the western Guangdong coastal current is the westward flow of freshwater from the Zhujiang (Pearl) River. This water enters the Beibu Gulf via the Qiongzhou Strait and enhances the formation of the cyclonic circulation in the northern Beibu Gulf. In summer, the strong influence of the southwesterly wind leads to the formation of a strong northward coastal current along the western coast of the Beibu Gulf. This process promotes the transport of low-salinity diluted water toward the open ocean and the formation of larger- scale cyclonic circulation around Weizhou Island in the eastern Beibu Gulf. The results of this study regarding the effects of the water inflow from the eastern Qiongzhou Strait to the Beibu Gulf on the Guangxi coastal circulation directly challenge conventional conclusions concerning the transport direction of water through the Qiongzhou Strait in winter and summer. | Bo Chen Zhixin Xu Hanzheng Ya Xianyun Chen Mingben Xu | 2019 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,9: | 7
Atomic Fe-Zn dual-metal sites for high-efficiency pH-universal oxygen reduction catalysis显示文摘An effective electrocatalyst being highly active in all pH range for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is crucial for energy conversion and storage devices. However, most of the high-efficiency ORR catalysis was reported in alkaline conditions.Herein,we demonstrated the preparation of atomically dispersed Fe-Zn pairs anchored on porous N-doped carbon frameworks(Fe-Zn-SA/NC),which works efficiently as ORR catalyst in the whole pH range. It achieves high half-wave potentials of 0.78,0.85 and 0.72 V in 0.1 M HClO4,0.1 M KOH and 0.1 M phosphate buffer saline(PBS)solutions, respectively,as well as respectable stability. The performances are even comparable to Pt/C.Furthermore,when assembled into a Zn-air battery, the high power density of 167.2 mWcm−2 and 120 h durability reveal the feasibility of Fe-Zn-SA/NC in real energy-related devices.Theoretical calculations demonstrate that the superior catalytic activity of Fe-Zn-SA/NC can be contributed to the lower energy barriers of ORR at the Fe-Zn-N6 centers. This work demonstrates the potential of Fe-Zn pairs as alternatives to the Pt catalysts for efficient catalytic ORR and provides new insights of dual-atom catalysts for other energy conversion related catalytic reactions. | Jie Xu Shuhua Lai Defeng Qi Min Hu Xianyun Peng Yifan Liu Wei Liu Guangzhi Hu Heng Xu Fan Li Chao Li Jia He Longchao Zhuo Jiaqiang Sun Yuan Qiu Shusheng Zhang Jun Luo Xijun Liu | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,5: | 6

Temperature-dependent optical resonance in a thin-walled tubular oxide microcavity显示文摘This work proposes a temperature-response capability of optical resonance in tubular optical oxide microcavities. The thin wall thickness with a subwavelength scale enables these microcavities to interact with the environment effectively. By optimization of the geometries and materials, the tubular microcavities can be tuned into temperature-inert in vacuum, and the experiments support this design. The experiments prove the idea of utilizing them as temperature-inert microcavities. Contrary wavelength shifts from previous studies were observed, which can be explained with the theoretical model. Furthermore, the theoretical results of the present work suggest that novel rolled-up microtubes could act as an exceptional optical microcavity for the application in temperature response. | Yangfu Fang Xianyun Lin Shiwei Tang Borui Xu Jiao Wang Yongfeng Mei | 2017 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2017,27,4: | 1

Global Exponential Stability of Periodic Solution for Competitive Neural Networks with Time-Varying and Distributed Delays on Time Scales显示文摘In this paper, competitive neural networks with time-varying and distributed delays are investigated. By utilizing Lyapunov functional methods, the global exponential stability of periodic solutions of the neural networks is discussed on time scales. In addition, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results. | Yang LIU Yongqing YANG Tian LIANG Xianyun XU | 2014 | Journal of Mathematical Research with Applications2014,34,4: | 0
Metagenomic analysis to determine the characteristics of antibiotic resistance genes in typical antibiotic-contaminated sediments显示文摘Comprehensive studies of the effects of various physical and chemical variables(including heavymetals),antibiotics, and microorganisms in the environment on antibiotic resistance genes are rare.We collected sediment samples from the Shatian Lake aquaculture area and surrounding lakes and rivers located in Shanghai,China. The spatial distribution of sediment ARGs was assessed by metagenomic analysis that revealed 26 ARG types(510 subtypes),dominated by Multidrug,β-lactam,Aminoglycoside,Glycopeptides,Fluoroquinolone,and Tetracyline.Redundancy discriminant analysis indicated that antibiotics(SAs and MLs)in the aqueous environment and sediment along with water TN and TP were the key variables affecting the abundance distribution of total ARGs.However, the main environmental drivers and key influences differed among the different ARGs.For total ARGs,the environmental subtypes affecting their structural composition and distribution characteristics were mainly antibiotic residues.Procrustes analysis showed a significant correlation between ARGs and microbial communities in the sediment in the survey area.Network analysis revealed that most of the target ARGs were significantly and positively correlated with microorganisms, and a small number of ARGs(e.g.,rpoB,mdtC,and efpA)were highly significantly and positively correlated with microorganisms(e.g.,Knoellia,Tetrasphaera,and Gem-matirosa).Potential hosts for the major ARGs included Actinobacteria,Proteobacteria, and Gemmatimonadetes. Our study provides new insight and a comprehensive assessment of the distribution and abundance of ARGs and the drivers of ARG occurrence and transmission. | Han Yang Mu Xu Liqing Wang Xianyun Wang Erik Jeppesen Wei Zhang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,6: | 0
