Massive individual orbital angular momentum channels for multiplexing enabled by Dammann gratings显示文摘Data transmission rates in optical communication systems are approaching the limits of conventional multiplexing methods.Orbital angular momentum(OAM)in optical vortex beams offers a new degree of freedom and the potential to increase the capacity of free-space optical communication systems, with OAM beams acting as information carriers for OAM division multiplexing(OAM-DM).We demonstrate independent collinear OAM channel generation, transmission and simultaneous detection using Dammann optical vortex gratings(DOVGs).We achieve 80/160 Tbit s^(-1) capacity with uniform power distributions along all channels, with 1600 individually modulated quadrature phase-shift keying(QPSK)/16-QAM data channels multiplexed by 10 OAM states,80 wavelengths and two polarizations.DOVG-enabled OAM multiplexing technology removes the bottleneck of massive OAM state parallel detection and offers an opportunity to raise optical communication systems capacity to Pbit s^(-1) level. | Ting Lei Meng Zhang Yuru Li Ping Jia Gordon Ning Liu Xiaogeng Xu Zhaohui Li Changjun Min Jiao Lin Changyuan Yu Hanben Niu Xiaocong Yuan | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1: | 47
Study on generalized magneto-thermoelastic problems by FEM in time domain显示文摘This paper presents an investigation of temperature, displacement, stress, and induced magnetic field in a half space perfectly-conductive plate. Finite element equations regarding generalized magneto-thermoelasticity problems with two relaxation times (i.e., the G-L theory) are derived using the principle of virtual work. For avoiding numerical complication involved in inverse Laplace and Fourier transformation and low precision thereof, the equations are solved directly in time-domain. As a numerical example, the derived equation is used to investigate the generalized magneto-thermoelastic behavior of a semi-infinite plate under magnetic field and subjecting to a thermal shock loading. The results demonstrate that FEM can faithfully predict the deformation of the plate and the induced magnetic field, and most importantly can reveal the sophisticated second sound effect of heat conduction in two-dimensional generalized thermo elastic solids, which is usually difficult to model by routine transformation methods. A peak can be observed in the distribution of stress and induced magnetic field at the heat wave front and the magnitude of the peak decreases with time, which can not be obtained by transformation methods. The new method can also be used to study generalized piezo-thermoelastic problems. | Xiaogeng Tian Yapeng Shen | 2005 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2005,21,4: | 10

Development of transplanting manipulator for hydroponic leafy vegetables显示文摘The production of hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings uses coco-peat as culture substrate in South China.Coco-peat has lowered density than peat-moss,and the friction between substrate block and pickup tool is small. So,it is hard to pick up in mechanism transplantation. In order to increase the friction, the existing transplanting manipulator had relatively complex structures. To simplify the structure of transplanting manipulator and improve the stability of picking up substrate block, four stainless steel fingers with rectangular cross-section were used in this research.A vertical driving was used to realize the coupling effect that could insert and shrink at the same time,by applying different combination of constraints to the steel fingers. This could increase friction between the steel fingers and the substrate block, and then enhance the stability of the substrate block.Different combinations of constraints were applied to the rectangular stainless steel fingers(3 mm×0.8 mm).The working videos of steel fingers were taken by high-speed photography.High-speed motioned analysis software was used to acquire and analyze traces of steel fingers movements. When the length which top end of the steel fingers moved outward(M)is equal to 1.5 mm,the length which guiding part widened(N)is equal to 1 mm,the shrinking distance of steel fingers is 4.2 mm.In this research,16-day hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings were used for performance, which cultivated with coco-peat substrate with the moisture in the substrate at 81%.The transplanting manipulator was attached to a Denso robotic arm to conduct transplanting performance test. When the shrinking distance of steel fingers increased from 0 mm to 3.2 mm and the inserting angle decreased from 80°to 77°,the lifting force of substrate block increased by 118%from 1.45 N to 3.16 N.However, excessive shrinkage stirred the substrate block, which would reduce the friction between the substrate block and pickup parts and lowered the lifting force of pickup part in the substrate block. The experimental results also demonstrated that when the shrinking distance of the steel fingers reached 3.2 mm and the root distribution rate reached 46%,the success rate of transplantation was 80%.When the leafy vegetable plug-seedlings root distribution rate reached 92%,the success rate of transplantation was 96.67%.The degree of root distribution rate was positively correlated with the transplantation success rate. Therefore,in order to ensure an acceptable success rate of transplantation, the root distribution rate of leafy vegetable plug-seedlings should be at least 90%.This study provides a technical reference for developing simplified transplanting manipulator that can be used to transplant the hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings with coco-peat as the culture substrate. | Bo Li Song Gu Qi Chu Yanli Yang Zhongjian Xie Kaijun Fan Xiaogeng Liu | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6: | 4
VARIATIONAL PRINCIPLFS OF NONLINEAR PIEZOTHERMOELASTIC MEDIA显示文摘Through the phenomenological approach, the nonlinear constitutive equations couplingthe electro/magnetic therrnoelastic media are derived.Several nonlinear variational principles forpiezothermoelastic continua are presented and employed to formulate the incremental variational princi-ples which are of important significance in practical applications such as the nonlinear finite elementanalysis, the buckling, postbuckling and dynamic stability analyses of piezoelectric smart structures. | Chen Changqing Shen Yapeng Tian Xiaogeng (Department of Engineering Mechanics,Xi’an Jiaotong University,Xi’an 710049,China) | 1998 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica1998,11,1: | 4
FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF THERMOELASTIC BEHAVIOR OF PIEZOELECTRIC STRUCTURES UNDER FINITE DEFORMATION显示文摘It is noted that the behavior of most piezoelectric materials is temperature dependent and suchpiezo-thermo-elastic coupling phenomenon has become even more pronounced in the case of finite deforma-tion.On the other hand, for the purpose of precise shape and vibration control of piezoelectric smart struc-tures,their deformation under external excitation must be ideally modeled. This demands a thorough study ofthe coupled piezo-thermo-elastic response under finite deformation. In this study, the governing equations ofpiezoelectric stractures are formulated through the theory of virtual displacement principle and a finite elementmethod is developed,it should be emphasized that in the finite element method the fully coupled piezo-ther-mo-elastic behavior and the geometric non-linearity ate considered. The method developed is then applied tosimulate the dynamic and steady response of a clamped plate to heat flux acting on one side of the plate tomimic the behavior of a battery plate of satellite irradiated under the sun.The results obtained are comparedagainst classical solutions, whereby the thermal conductivity is assumed to be independent of deformation.Itis found that the full-cnupled theory predicts less transient response of the temperature compared to the clas-sic analysis. In the steady state limit, the predicted temperature distribution within the plate for small heatflux is almost the same for both analyses. However,it is noted that increasing the heat flux will increase thedeviation between the predictions of the temperature distributinn by the full coupled theory and by the classicanalysis. It is concluded from the present study that,in order to precisely predict the deformation of smartstructures, the piezo-thermo-elastic coupling, geometric nou-linearity and the deformation dependent thermalconductivity should be taken into account. | Tian Xiaogeng Shen Yapeng | 2002 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2002,15,4: | 3

A MODEL FOR THE RELEASE BEHAVIOR OF DRUGS FROM HYDROGEL NANOPARTICLE显示文摘A model to correlate and predict the release behavior of drugs from hydrogel nanoparticles is presented in this paper. The nanoparticle is considered as a combination of a shell of an elastic semipermeable membrane and a core of a fluid phase (After swelling equilibrium). The fluid core consists of network building materials and other components that are able to partition in hydrogel nanoparticle phase and surrounding coexisting liquid phase, and is enveloped by the membrane shell. The excess Gibbs energies of the hydrogel nanoparticle phase and the surrounding coexisting fluid phase are expressed e.g. using UNIQUAC equation with “free-volume” contribution for non-ionic solution and VERS-model for ionic one. The elastic properties of polymer network could be described, for example, by the “phantom network” theory. | XU Xiaoping LI Zhongqin CHEN Xiaogeng LV Fengjiao | 2006 | Chinese Journal of Reactive Polymers2006,15,2: | 1

Biomimetic earthworm dynamic soil looser for improving soybean emergence rate in cold and arid regions显示文摘In cold and arid regions, soil moisture content and accumulated temperature were seriously insufficient during spring sowing, which made it difficult for soybean seedling to emerge.Based on the principle of earthworm optimization and improvement of soil structure, this study innovatively designed a biomimetic earthworm dynamic soil looser through bionic design and theoretical calculation.By highly reducing the movement path and mode of earthworm in the soil, the mechanism could improve the soil temperature(ST)and soil moisture content(SMC),and thus greatly improve the soybean emergence rate(SER).In this study, the effects of biomimetic earthworm dynamic soil looser and its design parameters on soil temperature(ST),soil moisture content(SMC)and soybean emergence rate(SER)were investigated by two-factor test, analysis of variance(ANOVA)and Least significant Difference(LSD).Regression analysis was used to establish the mathematical model between design parameters and soybean emergence rate.MATLAB software was used to optimize the model, and the optimal design parameter combination was obtained. The contrast experiments showed that the biomimetic earthworm dynamic soil looser could construct the soil structure more suitable for the cold and arid regions.Compared with rotary blade(RB)and notched disc harrow(DH),biomimetic earthworm dynamic soil looser could increase soil moisture content by 41.30%and 27.50%,respectively.Compared with the notched disc harrow, the soil temperature could be increased by 7.97%.There was no significant difference between the effect of rotary blade on soil temperature(p>0.05).The soybean emergence rate was increased by 25.40%and 20.70%,respectively,compared with that of notched disc harrow and rotary blade. | Jiale Zhao Xiaogeng Wang Yun Lu Yanpeng Wei Mingzhuo Guo Jun Fu | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,3: | 1
