A NEW IMPROVED STRUCTURE OF DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELLS WITH REFLECTION FILM显示文摘A new improved structure of dye- sensi- tized nanocrystalline solar cells (DSSC) for utilizing reflected light was introduced in this paper. Typical DSSC is based on a sandwich structure, which con- sists of photoanode, electrolyte and cathode. For the improved structure of DSSC in this paper, a sliver reflection film was attached to the back of transparent conducting glass of cathode. In this way, the residual light passing through photoanode was reflected to it to be used again. The photocurrent-voltage charac- teristics of DSSC fabricated by two different thickness of TiO2 film were measured to illustrate the effects of utilizing reflected light. As a result, the improved DSSC with reflection film exhibited higher photocur- rent and solar-to-electric conversion efficiency than DSSC without reflection film. | LIU Yong SHEN Hui HUANG Xiaorui DENG Youjun | 2006 | Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,3: | 4
Double lock of a potent human therapeutic monoclonal antibody against SARS-CoV-2显示文摘Receptor recognition and subsequent membrane fusion are essential for the establishment of successful infection by SARS-CoV-2.Halting these steps can cure COVID-19.Here we have identified and characterized a potent human monoclonal antibody,HB27,that blocks SARS-CoV-2 attachment to its cellular receptor at sub-nM concentrations.Remarkably,HB27 can also prevent SARS-CoV-2 membrane fusion.Consequently,a single dose of HB27 conferred effective protection against SARS-CoV-2 in two established mouse models.Rhesus macaques showed no obvious adverse events when administrated with10 times the effective dose of HB27.Cryo-EM studies on complex of SARS-CoV-2 trimeric S with HB27 Fab reveal that three Fab fragments work synergistically to occlude SARS-CoV-2 from binding to the ACE2 receptor.Binding of the antibody also restrains any further conformational changes of the receptor binding domain, possibly interfering with progression from the prefusion to the postfusion stage. These results suggest that HB27 is a promising candidate for immuno-therapies against COVID-19. | Ling Zhu Yong-Qiang Deng Rong-Rong Zhang Zhen Cui Chun-Yun Sun Chang-Fa Fan Xiaorui Xing Weijin Huang Qi Chen Na-Na Zhang Qing Ye Tian-Shu Cao Nan Wang Lei Wang Lei Cao Huiyu Wang Desheng Kong Juan Ma Chunxia Luo Yanjing Zhang Jianhui Nie Yao Sun Zhe Lv Neil Shaw Qianqian Li Xiao-Feng Li Junjie Hu Liangzhi Xie Zihe Rao Youchun Wang Xiangxi Wang Cheng-Feng Qin | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,3: | 3
Investigation of exhaled pollutant distribution in the breathing microenvironment in a displacement ventilated room with indoor air stability conditions显示文摘This study experimentally studied the dispersion of exhaled pollutant in the breathing microenvironment(BM)in a room equipped with a displacement ventilation(DV)system and indoor air stability conditions(i.e.,stable and unstable conditions). The vertical temperature differences and the carbon dioxide(CO_(2))concentration in the BM were measured. Results show that when DV is combined with the stable condition(DS),pollutant tends to accumulate in the BM,leading to a high pollutant concentration in this region.Whereas, when DV is combined with the unstable condition(DU),pollutant diffuses to a relatively wider area beyond the BM,thus the pollutant concentration in the BM is substantially reduced. Moreover, increasing the flow rate can reduce the pollutant concentration in the BM of the DS but yields little difference of the DU.In addition, personal exposure intensity increases with time, and the DS has a relatively higher increase rate than DU.The results suggest that indoor air stability will affect the performance of DV systems.DS will lead to a higher health risk for people when they stay in the indoor environment with pollutant sources, and DU is recommended for minimizing pollutant level in the BM in order to reduce the pollutant concentration and providing better air environments for the occupants. | Xiaorui Deng Guangcai Gong | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,1: | 1
Advancements in understanding mechanisms of hepatocellular carcinoma radiosensitivity:A comprehensive review显示文摘Primary liver cancer is a significant health problem worldwide.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the main pathological type of primary liver cancer, accounting for 75%-85%of cases. In recent years, radiotherapy has become an emerging treatment for HCC and is effective for various stages of HCC.However, radiosensitivity of liver cancer cells has a significant effect on the efficacy of radiotherapy and is regulated by various factors. How to increase radiosensitivity and improve the therapeutic effects of radiotherapy require further exploration. This review summarizes the recent research progress on the mechanisms affecting sensitivity to radiotherapy, including epigenetics, transportation and metabolism, regulated cell death pathways, the microenvironment, and redox status,as well as the effect of nanoparticles on the radiosensitivity of liver cancer. It is expected to provide more effective strategies and methods for clinical treatment of liver cancer by radiotherapy. | Gaoyuan Yang Huamei Yan Yongchang Tang Feng Yuan Mingbo Cao Yupeng Ren Yuxuan Li Zhiwei He Xiaorui Su Zhicheng Yao Meihai Deng | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023,35,3: | 1
Control of exhaled SARS-CoV-2-laden aerosols in the interpersonal breathing microenvironment in a ventilated room with limited space air stability显示文摘The Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)highlights the importance of understanding and controlling the spread of the coronavirus between persons. We experimentally and numerically investigated an advanced engineering and environmental method on controlling the transmission of airborne SARS-CoV-2-laden aerosols in the breathing microenvironment between two persons during interactive breathing process by combining the limited space air stability and a ventilation method.Experiments were carried out in a full-scale ventilated room with different limited space air stability conditions,i.e.,stable condition, neutral condition and unstable condition. Two real humans were involved to conducted normal breathing process in the room and the exhaled carbon dioxide was used as the surrogate of infectious airborne SARS-CoV-2-laden aerosols from respiratory activities.A correspondent numerical model was established to visualize the temperature field and contaminated field in the test room. Results show that the performance of a ventilation system on removing infectious airborne SARS-CoV-2-laden aerosols from the interpersonal breathing microenvironment is dependent on the limited space air stability conditions.Appropriate ventilation method should be implemented based on an evaluation of the air condition. It is recommended that total volume ventilation methods are suitable for unstable and neutral conditions and local ventilation methods are preferable for stable conditions. This study provides an insight into the transmission of airborne SARS-CoV-2-laden aerosols between persons in ventilated rooms with different limited space air stability conditions.Useful guidance has been provided to cope with COVID-19 in limited spaces. | Xiaorui Deng Guangcai Gong Xizhi He Xing Shi Lan Mo | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,10: | 0
3D bioprinted breast tumor model for structure–activity relationship study显示文摘In this paper,we present a 3D printed tumor spheroidal model suitable for drug discovery. This model is based on a hydroxyethyl cellulose/alginate/gelatin(HCSG)composite biomaterial that has three distinct properties:(1)the HCSG is similar to the commercial basement membrane extract in Ki67,MUC1,and PARP1 expressions of MCF-7 cells for embedding culture;(2)the HCSG is printable at room temperature;and(3)the HCSG can be large-scale manufactured at an ultralow cost.We printed a 3D MCF-7 spheroid model with HCSG and characterized it in terms of cell viability, spheroid size, key protein expression, and mitochondrial metabolic activity. We used the 3D MCF-7 spheroid model to evaluate the anti-breast cancer activity of 13 amino acid-based flavone phosphoramidates and found that the alanine structure induced a stronger drug resistance, whereas phenylalanine hardly caused drug resistance in the MCF-7 cells. This is the first time that 3D bioprinting technology has been used in a structure–activity relationship study. | Xiaorui Li Quanfeng Deng Tiantian Zhuang Yao Lu Tingjiao Liu Weijie Zhao Bingcheng Lin Yong Luo Xiuli Zhang | 2020 | Bio-Design and Manufacturing2020,3,4: | 0
