1Risk Factors for Age-Related Macular Degeneration in Elderly Chinese Population in Shenyang of China显示文摘Objective The paper aims to evaluate the risk factors for age‐related macular degeneration (AMD) in elderly Chinese population in Shenyang,a northeast city of China.Methods A case‐control study was conducted to investigate the risk factors for the prevalence of AMD.Ninety three AMD patients diagnosed by a complete ophthalmic examination were recruited as cases from the outpatient departments of two eye hospitals in Shenyang,while 108 normal subjects of similar age and sex were recruited as controls.A questionnaire was administered among both cases and controls.Results AMD patients aged 60 years and older accounted for 75.3%.There were significantly higher educational levels,shorter smoking history,less sunlight exposure and cataract,and higher proportion of antioxidants intake in controls than in AMD patients.The frequency of intake of fruits,legumes,fish and shrimps was significantly higher in controls than in AMD patients.In a binary logistic regression analysis,smoking and cataract were the risk factors for AMD (OR:4.44,95% CI:2.27‐8.69;OR:4.47,95% CI:2.26‐8.85 respectively).The high educational background was a protective factor for AMD (OR:0.761,95% CI:0.51‐0.98).Conclusion A low educational background,smoking and cataract are associated with a higher prevalence of AMD.JIA LiHong SHEN XueLi FAN Rui SUN Yan PAN XingYue YANH HongMei LIU Lu 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,5:4
2First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). 3Handling OOV Words in Mandarin Spoken Term Detection with an Hierarchical n-Gram Language Model显示文摘In this paper, an hierarchical n-gram Language model(LM) combining words and characters is explored to improve the detection of Out-of-vocabulary(OOV) words in Mandarin Spoken term detection(STD).The hierarchical LM is based on a word-level LM, with a character-level LM estimating probabilities of OOV words in a class-based way. The region containing OOV words in the sentence to be decoded is detected with the help of the word-level LM and the probabilities of OOV words are derived from the character-level LM. The implementation of the proposed approach is based on a dynamic decoder. The proposed approach is evaluated in terms of Actual term weighted value(ATWV) on two Mandarin data sets. Experiment results show that more than 10% relative improvement for OOV word detection is achieved on both sets. 4Synthesis of La-Modified Ultra Stable Zeolite L and Its Application to Catalytic Cracking Catalyst显示文摘A new type of zeolite La-USL (ultra stable zeolite L (zeolite USL) modified by La), which has superior activity, stability and selectivity in catalytic cracking of hydrocarbons and thus can be used as an active catalyst component, is reported in this paper. The zeolite L with relative crystallinity of above 90% was synthesized by the hydrothermal crystallization method under optimum conditions and characterized by means of XRD, NH3-TPD and isotherm adsorption techniques. The in-situ synthesized zeolite L with a SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratio of 5-6 was modified by cation ion exchange, hydrothermal dealumination and chemical modifications with La in order to prepare La-containing USL with a higher framework SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratio of 15-30. The modified zeolite La-USL was used as an active additive component of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst and the resulting catalysts were evaluated by microactivity test (MAT) and fixed-fluidized bed (FFB) experiments using heavy oil as feedstock. The influence of La content in La-USL on cracking product distribution, gasoline group composition and research octane number (RON) was investigated. 6MOF-derived multi-interface carbon-based composites with enhanced polarization loss and efficient microwave absorption显示文摘Metal-organic framework materials(MOFs)have been widely stu-died because of their adjustable composition and controllable structure in the field of microwave absorption(MA).Therein,Prussian blue analogs(PBA)have attracted the attention of researchers with ultra-high metal content.However,the attenua-tion ability of microwave for PBA-based composites is still unsatis-factory up to now.Therefore,the NiFe/CoFe@C composites were prepared by carbonizing polymetallic PBA(NiCoFe PBA)materials in this work,and the influence of different metal alloy components on MA was explored by adjusting the ratio of metal ions(Ni^(2+)/Co^(2+)).Moreover,the NiFe/CoFe@C composites have rich interfaces and enhance the polarization loss due to the introduction of Ni and it has an optimal performance at 2.7 mm that is the reflection loss(RL)is−41.49 dB and an effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)is 7.12 GHz with 1/1(Ni^(2+)/Co^(2+)).The above data provides a research idea for obtaining light and efficient absorbers.Hongjiao Qu Peng Zheng Tao Wang Xingyu Yu Junjie Pan Xiaoli Fan Tengfei Zhang Xin Sun Jianping He 2022International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,3:1

9First results of the low energy ion spectrometer onboard a Chinese geosynchronous satellite显示文摘A Chinese geosynchronous satellite was launched on June 23,2020.It carried a plasma detection package to monitor the space environment around the orbit.Here we report the inflight performance of a low energy ion spectrometer(LEIS),one of the primary instruments in the plasma detection package,and its initial observations in flight.Benefiting from the state-of-the-art design of a top-hat electrostatic analyzer cooperated with angular scanning deflectors,three-dimensional measurement of ions in space with a large field of view of 360°×90°and a wide energy range from 50 eV to 25 keV per charge has been achieved.The differential energy flux spectra of ions around the orbit have shown clear signatures of surface charging and storm/substorm ion injections.The occurrence of surface charging could be caused by the lack of photoemission at the Earth's eclipse(near the midnight)or the storm energetic electron injection at the dawn sector.The present results demonstrated a good performance of the LEIS payload in flight for monitoring the space ion environment around the orbit.In situ measurements of the LEIS payload provide us an opportunity to understand the magnetospheric ion dynamics and forecast the associate space weather impacts.SHAN Xu MIAO Bin CAO Zhe SUN ZhenYu LI YiRen LIU Kai GUO XingYu QU SanBiao SU ZhenPeng SHEN ChengLong PAN ZongHao LI Xin HAO XinJun YANG XiaoPing TIAN Chao JIANG Yu LIU ShuBin AN Qi CHEN XiangJun WANG YuMing 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,5:0
10SARS-CoV-2 spike-specific TFH cells exhibit unique responses in infected and vaccinated individuals显示文摘Long-term humoral immunity to SARS-CoV-2 is essential for preventing reinfection. The production of neutralizing antibody (nAb)and B cell differentiation are tightly regulated by T follicular help (T_(FH)) cells. However, the longevity and functional role of T_(FH) cellsubsets in COVID-19 convalescents and vaccine recipients remain poorly defined. Here, we show that SARS-CoV-2 infection andinactivated vaccine elicited both spike-specific CXCR3^(+) T_(FH) cell and CXCR3^(-) T_(FH) cell responses, which showed distinct responsepatterns. Spike- specific CXCR3^(+) T_(FH) cells exhibit a dominant and more durable response than CXCR3^(-) T_(FH) cells that positivelycorrelated with antibody responses. A third booster dose preferentially expands the spike-specific CXCR3^(+) T_(FH) cell subset inducedby two doses of inactivated vaccine, contributing to antibody maturation and potency. Functionally, spike-specific CXCR3^(+) T_(FH) cellshave a greater ability to induce spike-specific antibody secreting cells (ASCs) differentiation compared to spike-specific CXCR3^(-) T_(FH)cells. In conclusion, the persistent and functional role of spike-specific CXCR3^(+) T_(FH) cells following SARS-CoV-2 infection andvaccination may play an important role in antibody maintenance and recall response, thereby conferring long-term protection. 11Predicting the utilization factor of blasthole in rock roadways by random forest显示文摘The utilization factor of blasthole is a crucial indicator of the effectiveness of blasting in rock roadways.A significant value means that the explosive energy is fully utilized,the single-cycle advance is high,and the excavation rate is fast.A good blasting programme is a prerequisite for improving the utilization rate and predicting the utilization rate before blasting operations can verify the feasibility of the blasting programme.Firstly,a database of rock roadway blasting covering different geological and production conditions is estab-lished.Secondly,error analysis and the Gini coefficient method are used to weight the characteristic variables,quantify the importance of the variables and identify eight key indicators affecting the blasting hole utilization rate.Then,a random forest algorithm-based model for predicting utilization factor of blasthole is proposed,and the results of the model on the test set are:root mean square error(RMSE)is 0.0137,mean absolute error(MAE)is 0.0087,and coefficient of determination(R^(2))is 0.905.The performance of this method is com-pared with that of the neural network and support vector machine models on the test sets to verify the superiority of the random forest algorithm.Finally,to verify the generalization ability and practicality of the random forest prediction model,the model is applied to the rock roadway blasting construction of Gu Bei coal mine in Anhui Province.The results show that R2 is 0.913,so the model is reliable and accurate,which can meet the actual engineering requirements and lay the foundation for the promotion and application of this technology.Xinmin Ma Zhenyu Chen Pan Chen Haozhang Zheng Xingyu Gao Junjie Xiang Liying Chen Yipei Huang 2023Underground Space2023,,4:0

13Quasi-vertical tapers for polymer-waveguide-based interboard optical interconnects显示文摘A mode transformer based on the quasi-vertical taper is designed to enable high coupling efficiency for interboardlevel optical interconnects involving single-mode polymer waveguides and standard single-mode fibers. A triangular region fabricated above the waveguide is adopted to adiabatically transform the mode from the fiber into the polymer waveguide. The effects of the geometrical parameters of the taper, including width, height, tip width,etc., on the coupling efficiency are numerically investigated. Based on this, a quasi-vertical taper for the polymer rib waveguide system is designed, fabricated, and characterized. Coupling losses of 1.79 0.30 and 2.23 0.31 dB per coupler for the quasi-TM and quasi-TE mode, respectively, are measured across the optical communication C and L bands(1535 to 1610 nm). 14Multiproxy Paleosol Evidence for Jurassic Paleoclimate Fluctuations in the Sichuan Basin,SW China显示文摘Paleoclimate reconstruction of continental environments has been hampered by the limited evidence.A thick sequence of Jurassic continental deposits in the Sichuan Basin,Southwest China yields abundant paleosols that may offer valuable insights regarding Jurassic climate scenarios.A succession of 169 paleosols belonging to Protosols,Calcisols,and Argillisols from 23 detailed stratigraphic sections was recognized and characterized macro-and micromorphologically and assessed for mineral and geochemical compositions.Quantitative paleoclimate reconstructions using bulk geochemical proxies,the depth to and the stable oxygen isotopic composition of paleosol carbonates indicated a predominant alternation of semiarid and arid cool/warm-temperate climatic conditions punctuated by several episodes of subhumid and humid climates that generally prevailed in the Sichuan Basin during the Jurassic.The estimated paleoatmospheric CO_(2)concentrations(pCO_(2))from calcic paleosols yielded a low range of~104±58 to~610±152 ppmv during the Middle Jurassic.The terrestrial paleotemperature changes in the Sichuan Basin coincided with the pCO_(2)variations,which probably resulted from global geological events(e.g.,volcanic activities,magmatic and oceanic events,and the ephemeral caps development)in the Middle Jurassic.Jurassic climatic fluctuations in the basin were likely attributed to true polar wander due to global plate motion,megamonsoon effect linked to global and regional paleogeography,and regional paleotopography.LI Jun WEN Xingyue PAN Yuanyuan HUANG Chengmin 2022Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,6:0

16Effects of T-Factor on Quantum Annealing Algorithms for Integer Factoring Problem显示文摘The hardness of the integer factoring problem(IFP)plays a core role in the security of RSA-like cryptosystems that are widely used today.Besides Shor’s quantum algorithm that can solve IFP within polynomial time,quantum annealing algorithms(QAA)also manifest certain advantages in factoring integers.In experimental aspects,the reported integers that were successfully factored by using the D-wave QAA platform are much larger than those being factored by using Shor-like quantum algorithms.In this paper,we report some interesting observations about the effects of QAA for solving IFP.More specifically,we introduce a metric,called T-factor that measures the density of occupied qubits to some extent when conducting IFP tasks by using D-wave.We find that T-factor has obvious effects on annealing times for IFP:The larger of T-factor,the quicker of annealing speed.The explanation of this phenomenon is also given.Zhiqi Liu Shihui Zheng Xingyu Yan Ping Pan Licheng Wang 2023Journal of Quantum Computing2023,5,1:0
17Spectrum-tailored random fiber laser towards ICF laser facility显示文摘Broadband low-coherence light is considered to be an effective way to suppress laser plasma instability.Recent studies have demonstrated the ability of low-coherence laser facilities to reduce back-scattering during beam–target coupling.However,to ensure simultaneous low coherence and high energy,complex spectral modulation methods and amplification routes have to be adopted.In this work,we propose the use of a random fiber laser(RFL)as the seed source.The spectral features of this RFL can be carefully tailored to provide a good match with the gain characteristics of the laser amplification medium,thus enabling efficient amplification while maintaining low coherence.First,a theoretical model is constructed to give a comprehensive description of the output characteristics of the spectrum-tailored RFL,after which the designed RFL is experimentally realized as a seed source.Through precise pulse shaping and efficient regenerative amplification,a shaped random laser pulse output of 28 mJ is obtained,which is the first random laser system with megawatt-class peak power that is able to achieve low coherence and efficient spectrum-conformal regenerative amplification.Mengqiu Fan Shengtao Lin Ke Yao Yifei Qi Jiaojiao Zhang Junwen Zheng Pan Wang Longqun Ni Xingyu Bao Dandan Zhou Bo Zhang Kaibo Xiao Handing Xia Rui Zhang Ping Li Wanguo Zheng Zinan Wang 2023Matter and Radiation at Extremes2023,8,2:0
