1Cell concentration,viability and culture composition of airborne bacteria during a dust event in Beijing显示文摘Airborne bacteria were measured when a dust storm passed Beijing in spring 2012 with a focus on cell concentration,viability and TSA-and R2A-cultured strain composition.The concentration varied at an order of 10~7 cells/m^3 with dust loading(demonstrated with PM_(10))and they had a very close correlation(R_T^2 = 0.91,p < 0.01).At the time of highest PM_(10) of652 μg/m^3,the bacterial concentration reached 1.4 × 10~8 cells/m^3,which was larger than that before and after the dust event by one order.Bacterial viability,the ratio of number concentration of viable cells to total cells,was 32%-64%and smaller in the dust plume than that before the dust arrival.Bacterial strains from the culture ranged between 2.5 x 104 and4.6×10~5 CFU/m^3 and no correlation with PM_(10) was determined.Their composition was different before and after the dust arrival according to 16SrRNA gene sequences and strains belong to Actinomycetes and Firmicutes were the majority in the dust samples.Hongli Yuan Daizhou Zhang Yanning Shi Baozhen Li Jinshui Yang Xuejian Yu Nan Chen Makiko Kakikawa 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,5:5

6Low temperature densification mechanism and properties of Ta_(1-x)Hf_(x)C solid solutions with decarbonization and phase transition of Cr_(3)C_(2)显示文摘As a novel member of the ultra-high temperature ceramic family,which have extremely high melting points and remarkable hardness,Ta1-xHfxC solid solution ceramics are promising for applications in thermal protection systems.Ta_(1-x)Hf_(x)C(x=0,0.2,0.5,0.8,and 1.0)with 2 vol%Cr_(3)C_(2),were densified up to 98.8%at 2000℃ using a two-step spark plasma sintering process.Effect of Cr_(3)C_(2) on the linear shrinkage of Ta1-xHfxC was investigated.Possible‘eutectic’reaction within TaCeCr_(3)C_(2) ceramic was inferred to contribute to the shrinkage at 1462 C.High-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy combined with energy-dispersive spectroscopy was employed to further confirm the mutual diffusion between rock-salt structured‘CrCx’and TaC.Flexural strength,fracture toughness and Vicker’s hardness of Ta1-xHfxC ceramics were in the range of 439e492 MPa,4.0e5.8 MPa∙m^(1/2) and 14.9e19.9 GPa respectively.The coefficient of thermal expansion(in the temperature range of 25e1000℃)and thermal conductivity(at 1000℃)of Ta_(1-x)Hf_(x)C varied from 7.17 to 7.51×10^(-6) K^(-1) and 31.9e42.9 W/m·K,respectively.The high-temperature strength of Ta_(0.5)Hf_(0.5)C decreased to 165 MPa up to 1600℃,approximately 34%of room-temperature strength,and a‘zig-zag’load-displacement curve was observed.Buhao Zhang Jie Yin Yichen Wang Duo Yu Huan Liu Xuejian Liu Michael JReece Zhengren Huang 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,4:0

8Observation of plasma dynamics in a theta pinch by a novel method显示文摘A novel experimental method is proposed for observing plasma dynamics subjected to magnetic fields based on a newly developed cylindrical theta-pinch device.By measuring simultaneously the temporal profiles of multiple parameters including the drive current,luminosity,plasma density,and plasma temperature,it provides a basis for observing the plasma dynamics of the theta pinch,such as shock transport and magnetohydrodynamic instability.We show that the plasma evolution can be distinguished as three phases.First,in the radial implosion phase,the trajectories of the current sheath and shock wave are ascertained by combining experimental data with a snowplow model(Lee model)in a self-consistent way.Second,in the axial flow phase,we demonstrate that m=0(sausage)instability associated with the plasma axial flow suppresses the plasma end-loss.Third,in the newly observed anomalous heating phase,the lower-hybrid-drift instability may develop near the current sheath,which induces anomalous resistivity and enhanced plasma heating.The present experimental data and novel method offer better understanding of plasma dynamics in the presence of magnetic fields,thereby providing important support for relevant research in magneto-inertial fusion.Zhao Wang Rui Cheng Guodong Wang Xuejian Jin Yong Tang Yanhong Chen Zexian Zhou Lulin Shi Yuyu Wang Yu Lei Xiaoxia Wu Jie Yang 2023Matter and Radiation at Extremes2023,8,4:0
