Methanation of carbon dioxide on Ni/ZrO_2-Al_2O_3 catalysts:Effects of ZrO_2 promoter and preparation method of novel ZrO_2-Al_2O_3 carrier显示文摘The novel nickel-based catalysts with a nickel content of 12 wt% were prepared with the zirconia-alumina composite as the supports. The new carriers, ZrO2 improved alumina, were synthesized by three methods, i.e., impregnation-precipitation, co-precipitation, and impregnation method. The catalytic properties of these catalysts were investigated in the methanation of carbon dioxide, and the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS), temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) techniques. The new catalysts showed higher catalytic activity and better stability than Ni/γ-Al2O3. Furthermore, as a support for new nickel catalyst, the ZrO2-Al2O3 composite prepared by the impregnation-precipitation method was more efficient than the other supports in the methanation of carbon dioxide. The highly dispersed zirconium oxide on the surface of γ-Al2O3 inhibited the formation of nickel aluminate-like phase, which was responsible for the better dispersion of Ni species and easier reduction of NiO species, leading to the enhanced catalytic performance of corresponding catalyst. | Mengdie Cai Jie Wen Wei Chu Xueqing Cheng Zejun Li | 2011 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2011,20,3: | 33
The characteristics of CO_2 assimilation of photosynthesis and chlorophyll fluorescence in transgenic PEPC rice显示文摘With PEPC, PPDK, NADP-ME and PEPC+ PPDK transgenic and untransformed rice (Orysa sativa L.), the activities of related C4 photosynthesis enzymes, the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, CO2 exchange and other physiological indexes were compared, in which the physiological characteristics of PEPC transgenic rice were mainly studied. The results were as follows: (i) The activities of PEPC in PEPC transgenic rice were 20-fold higher than those in untransformed rice; the light-saturation photosynthetic rates and the carboxylation efficiency of PEPC transgenic rice were increased by 55% and 50% more than those of untransformed rice, respectively, while the CO2 compensation point decreased by 27%. (ii) The PS II photochemical efficiency (Fv/Fm) and photochemical quenching (qp) of transgenic PEPC rice decreased less in comparison with those of untransformed rice after the treatment with high light intensity (3 h) or methyl viologen (MV), a photooxidative reagent, which demonstrated that the tolerance of PEPC | JIAO Demao, LI Xia, HUANG Xueqing, CHI Wei, KUANG Tingyun & Ku SB Maurice1. | 3 | A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking, one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents. In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches, including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps. The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size, and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families, respectively, accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry. Moreover, the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine, forage, papermaking, and barkcloth making. We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively, these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition. Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making, and as forage. These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide. | Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,5: | 18

A low power and small area all digital delay-locked loop based on ring oscillator architecture显示文摘A 133-500 MHz,5.2 mW @500 MHz,0.021 mm2 all digital delay-locked loop(ADDLL)is presented. The power and area reduction of the proposed ADDLL are achieved by implementing a high frequency ring oscillator(ROSC)to count the reference clocks such that the one-clock cycle delay chain and the phase detector in a conventional Master block are no longer needed. The proposed ADDLL has better immunity to PVT(process, voltage, and temperature)than most conventional DLLs,which do not update the control word signals after the locking process, since the control signals for slave delay line are updated in every 256 reference cycles.Fabricated in 0.13 um CMOS process, the measured RMS jitter is 10.83 ps at 500 MHz while the RMS jitter of the input signal is 9.97 ps. | ZHENG JiaPeng LI Wei LU XueQing CHENG YuHua WANG YangYuan | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,2: | 2
AaWRKY17, a positive regulator of artemisinin biosynthesis, is involved in resistance to Pseudomonas syringae in Artemisia annua显示文摘Artemisia annua,a traditional Chinese medicinal plant, remains the only plant source for artemisinin production, yet few genes have been identified to be involved in both the response to biotic stresses, such as pathogens, and artemisinin biosynthesis. Here,we isolated and identified the WRKY transcription factor(TF)AaWRKY17,which could significantly increase the artemisinin content and resistance to Pseudomonas syringae in A.annua.Yeast one-hybrid(Y1H),dual-luciferase(dual-LUC),and electrophoretic mobility shift assay(EMSA)results showed that AaWRKY17 directly bound to the W-box motifs in the promoter region of the artemisinin biosynthetic pathway gene amorpha-4,11-diene synthase(ADS)and promoted its expression.Real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR)analysis revealed that the transcript levels of two defense marker genes,Pathogenesis-Related 5(PR5)and NDR1/HIN1-LIKE 10(NHL10),were greatly increased in AaWRKY17-overexpressing transgenic A.annua plants.Additionally, overexpression of AaWRKY17 in A.annua resulted in decreased susceptibility to P.syringae.These results indicated that AaWRKY17 acted as a positive regulator in response to P.syringae infection.Together, our findings demonstrated that the novel WRKY transcription factor AaWRKY17 could potentially be used in transgenic breeding to improve the content of artemisinin and pathogen tolerance in A.annua. | Tiantian Chen Yongpeng Li Lihui Xie Xiaolong Hao Hang Liu Wei Qin Chen Wang Xin Yan Kuanyu Wu-Zhang Xinghao Yao Bowen Peng Yaojie Zhang Xueqing Fu Ling Li Kexuan Tang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 2

How do Cats Resist Landing Injury:Insights into the Multi-level Buffering Mechanism显示文摘When humans jump down from a high position, there is a risk of serious injury to the lower limbs. However, cats can jump down from the same heights without any injury because of their excellent ability to attenuate impact forces. The present study aims to investigate the macro/micro biomechanical features of paw pads and limb bones of cats, and the coordination control of joints during landing, providing insights into how cats protect themselves from landing injury.Accordingly, histological analysis, radiological analysis, finite element method, and mechanical testing were performed to investigate the mechanical properties, microstructure, and biomechanical response of the pads and limb bones. In addition, using a motion capture system, the kinematic/kinetic data during landing were analysed based on inverse dynamics. The results show that the pads and limb bones are major contributors to non-impact-injuries,and cats actively couple their joints to adjust the parameters of movement to dissipate the higher impact. Therefore, the paw pads, limb bones, and coordinated joints complement each other and constitute a multi-level buffering mechanism, providing the cat with the sophisticated shock absorption system. This biomechanical analysis can accordingly provide biological inspiration for new approaches to prevent human lower limb injuries. | Xueqing Wu Baoqing Pei Yuyang Pei Wei Wang Yan Hao Kaiyuan Zhou | 2020 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,3: | 1

Antibody upstream sequence diversity and its biological implications revealed by repertoire sequencing显示文摘The sequence upstream of the antibody variable region(antibody upstream sequence[AUS])consists of a 5′untranslated region(5′UTR)and a preceding leader region. The sequence variations in AUS affect antibody engineering and PCR based antibody quantification and may also be implicated in mRNA transcription and translation. However, the diversity of AUSs remains elusive.Using 5′rapid amplification of cDNA ends and high-throughput antibody repertoire sequencing technique,we acquired full-length AUSs for human, rhesus macaque, cynomolgus macaque, mouse, and rat.We designed a bioinformatics pipeline and identified 3307 unique AUSs,corresponding to 3026 and 1457 unique sequences for 5′UTR and leader region, respectively.Comparative analysis indicated that 928(63.69%)leader sequences are novel relative to those recorded in the international ImMunoGeneTics information system.Evolutionarily, leader sequences are more conserved than 5′UTR and seem to coevolve with their downstream V genes.Besides,single-nucleotide polymorphisms are position dependent for leader regions and may contribute to the functional reversal of the downstream V genes. Finally, the AUGs in AUSs were found to have little impact on gene expression.Taken together, our findings can facilitate primer design for capturing antibodies efficiently and provide a valuable resource for antibody engineering and molecule-level antibody studies. | Yan Zhu Xiujia Yang Cuiyu Ma Haipei Tang Qilong Wang Junjie Guan Wenxi Xie Sen Chen Yuan Chen Minhui Wang Chunhong Lan Deqiang Sun Lai Wei Caijun Sun Xueqing Yu Zhenhai Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,10: | 0
Optimize the combination regimen of Trastuzumab and Nab-paclitaxel in HER2-positive tumors via modulating Caveolin-1 expression by lovastatin显示文摘The combination regimen of trastuzumab(Tras)plus Nab-paclitaxel(Nab)is recommended to treat HER2-positive(HER2+)cancers.However,they exert effects in different mechanisms:Tras need to stay on cell membranes, while Nab need to be endocytosed, therefore the concurrent combination regimen may not be the best one in HER2+tumors treatment.Caveolin-1(Cav-1)is a key player in mediating their endocytosis and is associated with their efficacy, but few researches noticed the opposite effect of Cav-1 expression on the combination efficacy.Herein,we systematically studied the Cav-1 expression level on the combination efficacy and proposed an optimized and clinically feasible combination regimen for HER2+Cav-1 High tumor treatment. In the regimen, lovastatin(Lova)was introduced to modulate the Cav-1 expression and the results indicated that Lova could downregulate Cav-1 expression, increase Tras retention on cell membrane and enhance the in vitro cytotoxicity of Tras in HER2+Cav-1 High cells but not in HER2+Cav-1 Low cells. Therefore,by exchanging the dosing sequence of Nab and Tras, and by adding Lova at appropriate time points, the precise three-drug-sequential regimen(PTDS,Nab(D1)-Lova(D2)-Lova&Tras(D2+12 h))was established.Compared with the concurrent regimen, the PTDS regimen exhibited a higher in vitro cytotoxicity and a stronger tumor growth inhibition in HER2+Cav-1 High tumors, which might be a promising combination regimen for these patients in clinics. | Canyu Yang Shumin Fan Xing Wang Wei Liu Long Yang Bing He Wenbing Dai Hua Zhang Xueqing Wang Qiang Zhang | 2022 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2022,17,5: | 0
Controllable coating NiAl-layered double hydroxides on carbon nanofibers as anticorrosive microwave absorbers显示文摘For harsh real-world service settings,it is essential to build corrosion-resistant,diverse,and effective microwave absorbers.Herein,we successfully prepared a 3D NiAl-layered double hydroxide/carbon nanofibers(NiAl-LDH/CNFs)composite material as an anticorrosive microwave absorber assisted by an atomic layer deposition(ALD)method. The size, coating thickness, and content of NiAl-LDH can be readily adjusted by changing the ALD cycling numbers. The optimized NiAl-LDH/CNFs demonstrates prominent microwave absorbing properties including the strongest reflection loss of–55.65 dB and the widest effective absorption bandwidth of 4.80 GHz with only 15 wt%loading. The reasons for performance improvement are the cooperative effect of interfacial polarization loss, conduction loss, and three-dimensional porous structure. Moreover, due to the synergistic effects between the excellent impermeability of CNFs and the trapping ability of NiAl-LDH for chloride ions,NiAl-LDH/CNFs exhibits strong corrosion resistances under acidic, neutral, and alkaline conditions.NiAl-LDH/CNFs should be a potential candidate to simultaneously use for microwave absorption and corrosion resistance, and this work provides a certain guiding significance for designing microwave absorbers that satisfy the corrosion resistance. | Ying Zhang Liang Li Changlong Du Gengping Wan Qiyi Wei Xueqing Zhou Yanran Su Yang Xu Guizhen Wang | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,20: | 0
