| 1 | Dynamic behaviors of cavitation bubble for the steady cavitating flow显示文摘In this paper, by introducing the flow velocity item into the classical Rayleigh-Plesset dynamic equation, a newequation, which does not involve the time term and can describe the motion of cavitation bubble in the steadycavitating flow, has been obtained. By solving the new motion equation using Runge-Kutta fourth order methodwith adaptive step size control, the dynamic behaviors of cavitation bubble driven by the varying pressure fielddownstream of a venturi cavitation reactor are numerically simulated. The effects of liquid temperature (correspondingto the saturated vapor pressure of liquid), cavitation number and inlet pressure of venturi on radial motionof bubble and pressure pulse due to the radial motion are analyzed and discussed in detail. Some dynamicbehaviors of bubble different from those in previous papers are displayed. In addition, the internal relationshipbetween bubble dynamics and process intensification is also discussed. | 3 | Enhanced activation of peroxydisulfate by strontium modified BiFeO3 perovskite for ciprofloxacin degradation显示文摘A series of Sr-doped BiFeO3 perovskites(Bi1-xSrxFeO3,BSFO)fabricated via sol-gel method was applied as peroxydisulfate(PDS)activator for ciprofloxacin(CIP)degradation.Various technologies were used to characterize the morphology and physicochemical features of prepared BSFO samples and the results indicated that Sr was successfully inserted into the perovskites lattice.The catalytic performance of BiFeO3 was significantly boosted by strontium doping.Specifically,Bi0.9Sr0.1FeO3(0.1 BSFO)exhibited the highest catalytic performance for PDS activation to remove CIP,where 95%of CIP(10 mg/L)could be degraded with the addition of 1 g/L 0.1 BSFO and 1 mmol/L PDS within 60 min.Moreover,0.1 BSFO displayed high reusability and stability with lower metal leaching.Weak acidic condition was preferred to neutral and alkaline conditions in 0.1 BSFO/PDS system.The boosted catalytic performance can be interpreted as the lower oxidation state of Fe and the existence of affluent oxygen vacancies generated by Sr doping,that induced the formation of singlet oxygen(^1O_(2))which was confirmed as the dominant reactive species by radical scavenging studies and electron spin resonance(ESR)tests.The catalytic oxidation mechanism related to major ^1O_(2) and minor free radicals was proposed.Current study opens a new avenue to develop effective A-site modified perovskite and expands their application for PDS activation in wastewater remediation. | Caicai Wang Shengwang Gao Jianchao Zhu Xunfeng Xia Mingxin Wang Yanna Xiong | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,1: | 4 |
| 4 | STRUCTURE DESIGN OF THE BEIJING SPECTROMETERⅢBEAM PIPE显示文摘The Beijing spectrometerⅢ(BESⅢ)beam pipe is in the center of the BESⅢ,which is the detector of the upgrade project of Beijing electron and positron collider(BEPCⅡ).Electrons and positrons collide in the BESⅢbeam pipe.According to the demands of the BEPCⅡ,a key program of Chinese Academy of Sciences,the BESⅢbeam pipe is designed based on the finite elements analysis.The BESⅢbeam pipe is installed in the inner cylinder of the BESⅢdrift chamber.As a vacuum tube,the BESⅢbeam pipe is designed as 1000 mm in length,63 mm in inner diameter and 114 mm in outer diameter,respectively.The BESⅢbeam pipe consists of a central beryllium pipe cooled by EDM-1,the oil No.1 for electric discharge machining,and two extended copper pipes cooled by deionized water(DW).The three parts are jointed by vacuum welding.Factors taken into account in the design are as follows.①The wall thickness of the central beryllium pipe should be designed as small as possible to reduce the multi-scattering and improve the particle momentum resolution.And the wall thickness of the extended copper pipe should be designed as large as possible to protect the detectors from the backgrounds.②The BESⅢbeam pipe must be sufficiently cooled to avoid the damage and prevents its influence to the BESⅢdrift chamber(DC)operation.The inner surface temperature of the DC inner cylinder must be maintained at 293±2 K.③The magnetic permeability of the materials used in the BESⅢbeam pipe must be less than 1.05 H/m to avoid large magnetic field distortions.④The static pressure of the vacuum chamber of the BESⅢbeam pipe must be less than 800μPa.The simulating results show that the designed structure oftbe BESⅢbeam pipe satisfies the requirements mentioned above.The structure design scheme is evaluated and adopted by the headquarters of BEPCⅡ. | ZHENG Lifang JI Quan WANG Li LI xunfeng XU Shaowang DONG Sujun ZHAO Libin LIU Jianping | 2008 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2008,21,3: | 3 |

| 6 | Foraging areas of Rousettus leschenaulti on the Hainan Island of China显示文摘We investigated the foraging area of three individuals (1 female and 2 males) of Rousettus leschenaulti (Chiroptera,Pteropodidae) in suburban Haikou City, Hainan Province, South China from November 2005 to January 2006 using radio telemetry.These animals left the daytime roosting sites about 90 min after sunset with no significant difference in departure time betweenthe male and female bats. The average active times were 391.8 min for males and 533.7 min for the female, respectively.By reconstructing 93 radio-telemetry recording positions, we found that the long axis of foraging area of the bats ranged from7.45 to 11.70 km. The foraging area of the female (3867 ha) was larger than that of the males (1138 ha), and there was overlapbetween the foraging areas of different individuals. These bats usually kept the same flight routes across a few successive daysfrom the daytime roosting site to the foraging areas. Our findings suggested that female R. leschenaulti may explore a larger foragingarea than males. | 8 | Numerical study of collection efficiency and heat-transfer characteristics of packed granular filter显示文摘The collection mechanism and heat-transfer characteristics of a packed granular filter were investigated using a three-dimensional randomly packed granular filter model. The bridging method was introduced to optimize the grids of contact points between granules. The influences of granular bed depth, gas velocity, and gas temperature on grade collection efficiency were investigated. The results indicated that a decrease of temperature improved collection efficiency when the particle diameter was greater than 5 |xm. The grade collection efficiency maintained a stable value when the Stokes number, St, was less than 0.009, but increased linearly with ig(St) when St > 0.009. A logarithmic mean temperature difference method was used to obtain overall heat-transfer coefficients of gas-solid two-phase flow through the packed granular filter. The results showed that convective heat transfer was enhanced due to the intro-duction of solid particles in the bed. The overall heat-transfer coefficient increased approximately linearly with an increase in particle loading ratio.
