| 1 | The chromosome-level quality genome provides insights into the evolution of the biosynthesis genes for aroma compounds of Osmanthus fragrans显示文摘Sweet osmanthus(Osmanthus fragrans)is a very popular ornamental tree species throughout Southeast Asia and USA particularly for its extremely fragrant aroma.We constructed a chromosome-level reference genome of O.fragrans to assist in studies of the evolution,genetic diversity,and molecular mechanism of aroma development.A total of over 118 Gb of polished reads was produced from HiSeq(45.1 Gb)and PacBio Sequel(73.35 Gb),giving 100×depth coverage for long reads.The combination of Illumina-short reads,PacBio-long reads,and Hi-C data produced the final chromosome quality genome of O.fragrans with a genome size of 727 Mb and a heterozygosity of 1.45%.The genome was annotated using de novo and homology comparison and further refined with transcriptome data.The genome of O.fragrans was predicted to have 45,542 genes,of which 95.68%were functionally annotated.Genome annotation found 49.35%as the repetitive sequences,with long terminal repeats(LTR)being the richest(28.94%).Genome evolution analysis indicated the evidence of whole-genome duplication 15 million years ago,which contributed to the current content of 45,242 genes.Metabolic analysis revealed that linalool,a monoterpene is the main aroma compound.Based on the genome and transcriptome,we further demonstrated the direct connection between terpene synthases(TPSs)and the rich aromatic molecules in O.fragrans.We identified three new flower-specific TPS genes,of which the expression coincided with the production of linalool.Our results suggest that the high number of TPS genes and the flower tissue-and stage-specific TPS genes expressions might drive the strong unique aroma production of O.fragrans. | Xiulian Yang Yuanzheng Yue Haiyan Li Wenjie Ding Gongwei Chen Tingting Shi Junhao Chen Min S.Park Fei Chen Lianggui Wang | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 16 |

| 4 | Mssbauer Spectroscopic Studies on a Supersaturated Solid Solution of Fe-Cu Formed by Mechanical Alloying显示文摘Mechanical alloying (MA) was employed to produce supersaturated solid solutions of Fe1-xCux,which is virtually immiscible under an equilibrium condition at ambjent temperature. The X-ray diffraction results show that the solutions formed in the concentration ranges of x≤0.1 5 and x≥0.40 are of bcc structure of iron and fcc structure of copper. respectively. For the region in between.however, the alloy obtained is a mixture of bcc plus fcc phases. The Mossbauer spectrum of the solid solution of a single phase could be fitted by two sub-spectra with hyperfine magnetic fields of 200 and 250 kOe. respectively. suggesting that there must exist two forms of coordination in the solution. While to fit the spectrum for the solution with mixed structu re. three Sub-spectra. including a spectrum of α-Fe, should be used. | 5 | Super-plasticity of Zr_(64.80)Cu_(14.85)Ni_(10.35)Al_(10) bulk metallic glass at room temperature显示文摘Generally,bulk metallic glasses(BMGs)exhibit a very limited plastic deformation under a compression load at room temperature,often less than 2% before fracturing.In this letter,through an appropriate choice of BMGs' composition,an amorphous rod of Zr64.80Cu14.85Ni10.35Al10 with a diameter of 2 mm was prepared by using copper mold suction casting.X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry were utilized to determine its structure and thermal stability,and the uniaxial compression test was adopted to study its plastic deformation behavior at room temperature simultaneously.The results showed that the glass transition temperature and onset temperature of the exothermic reaction of the amorphous rod were 646 and 750 K,respectively,and its micro-hardness was 594.7 Hv.During com-pression,when the engineering strain and engineering stress arrived at 9.05% and 1732 MPa,respec-tively,i.e.,the true strain and true stress reached 9.42% and 1560 MPa,respectively,the amorphous rod started to yield.After yielding,with the increase of load,the strain increased and the glass rod ulti-mately were compressed into flake-like form.Although the maximum engineering strain was larger than 70%,i.e.,the maximum true strain exceeded by 120%,the amorphous specimen was not fractured,indicating that it has super-plasticity at room temperature.Through the appropriate choice of compo-sition and optimization of the technological process,flexible BMG with super-plasticity at room tem-perature could be produced. | TAO PingJun YANG YuanZheng BAI XiaoJun XIE ZhiWei CHEN XianCao DONG ZhenJiang Wen JianGuo | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,3: | 3 |
| 6 | Expression and self-assembly of Heterocapsa circularisquama RNA virus-like particles synthesized in Pichia pastoris显示文摘Heterocapsa circularisquama RNA virus(HcRNAV) is the first single-stranded RNA virus to be characterized that infects dinoflagellates.The ability of HcRNAV coat protein(HcRNAV CP) to self-assemble into virus-like particles(VLPs) in vitro suggested that heterologous expression was possible,and that the VLPs might be ideal nanocontainers for the targeted delivery of genes and chemicals.In this paper,we report the expression of a codon-optimized HcRNAV 109 CP gene in Pichia pastoris and the production of self-assembled HcRNAV VLPs using large-scale fermentation.The HcRNAV 109 CP gene was synthesized according to the codon preference of P.pastoris and cloned into a pPICZA vector.The recombinant plasmid pPICZA-CPsyns was transformed into P.pastoris by electroporation.The resulting yeast colonies were screened by PCR and analyzed for protein expression by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.After large-scale fermentation,the yield of HcRNAV CPsyns reached approximately 2.5 g L 1 within 4 d.The HcRNAV VLPs were purified using PEG precipitation followed by cesium chloride density gradient ultracentrifugation,and were subsequently analyzed using UV spectrophotometry and transmission electron microscopy.Fluorescence dye-labeled myoglobin was loaded into the cages of the HcRNAV VLPs and the encapsulation was confirmed by fluorescence spectroscopy.The results point to the possible utilization in pharmacology or nanotechnology of HcRNAV VLPs produced by P.pastoris fermentation. | WU YuanZheng KIM Wonduck KIM Si-Wou EOM Chi-Yong YANG HeTong SHIN Hyun-Jae | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,25: | 2 |
| 7 | Effects of rare-earth elements on the glass-forming ability and mechanical properties of Cu_(46)Zr_(47-x)Al_7M_x(M = Ce,Pr,Tb,and Gd) bulk metallic glasses显示文摘Cu46Zr47-xAl7Mx(M = Ce,Pr,Tb,and Gd) bulk metallic glassy(BMG) alloys were prepared by copper-mold vacuum suction casting.The effects of rare-earth elements on the glass-forming ability(GFA),thermal stability,and mechanical properties of Cu46Zr47-xAl7Mx were investigated.The GFA of Cu46Zr47-xAl7Mx(M = Ce,Pr) alloys is dependent on the content of Ce and Pr,and the optimal content is 4.at %.Cu46Zr47-xAl7Tbx(x = 2,4,and 5) amorphous alloys with a diameter of 5 mm can be prepared.The GFA of Cu46Zr47-xAl7Gdx(x = 2,4,and 5) increases with increasing Gd.Tx and Tp of all decrease.Tg is dependent on the rare-earth element and its content.△Tx for most of these alloys decreases except the Cu46Zr42Al7Gd5 alloy.The activation energies △Eg,△Ex,and △Ep for the Cu46Zr42Al7Gd5 BMG alloy with Kissinger equations are 340.7,211.3,and 211.3 kJ/mol,respectively.These values with Ozawa equations are 334.8,210.3,and 210.3 kJ/mol,respectively.The Cu46Zr45Al7Tb2 alloy presents the highest microhardness,Hv 590,while the Cu46Zr43Al7Pr4 alloy presents the least,Hv 479.The compressive strength(σc.f.) of the Cu46Zr43Al7Gd4 BMG alloy is higher than that of the Cu46Zr43Al7Tb4 BMG alloy. | XIE Zhiwei ZHANG Yongzhang YANG Yuanzheng CHEN Xianzhao TAO Pingjun | 2010 | Rare Metals2010,29,5: | 2 |

| 11 | Mechanically Driven Alloying and Structural Evolution of Nanocrystalline Fe_(60)Cu_(40) Powder显示文摘Highly supersaturated nanocrystalline fcc Fe60Cu40 alloy has been prepared by mechanical alloying of elemental powders. The phase transformation is monitored by X-ray diffraction (XRD),Mossbauer spectroscopy and extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS). The powder obtained after milling is of single fcc structure with grain size of nanometer order. The Mossbauer spectra of the milled powder can be fitted by two subspectra whose hyperfine magnetic fields are 16 MA/m and 20 MA/m while that of pure Fe disappeared. EXAFS results show that the radial structure function (RSF) of Fe K-edge changed drastically and finally became similar to that of reference Cu K-edge, while that of Cu K-edge nearly keeps unchanged in the process of milling. These imply that bcc Fe really transforms to fcc structure and alloying between Fe and Cu occurs truly on an atomic scale. EXAFS results indicate that iron atoms tend to segregate at the boundaries and Cu atoms are rich in the fcc lattice. | 20 | Influence of Additive Silica on the Laser Melting of the Ceramic Coatings显示文摘The influence of additive silica on the microstructure of plasma sprayed Al2O3 and Al2O3+13 wt pct TiO2 ceramiccoatings at laser melting has been investigated in this study. At the laser melting, additive silica in Al2O3 ceramiccoating can reduce the stress of cooling shrinkage generated during solidification. Moreover, silica can render finersize of grains of the melting layer and form continuous glassy matter around the grain boundaries so as to reducefurther the cooling stresses and to suppress the formation and spreading of cracks. On the other hand, at the lasermelting, TiO2 reacts with Al2O3 and transforms into TiAl2Os. The latter new phase has great and anisotropiccoefficients of thermal expansion leading to big and asymmetrical stresses and thus to form cracks in the meltinglayer of Al2O3+13 wt pct TiO2 coating. Due to the fact that the influence of additive silica on the suppression of theformation of cracks is rather limited and cannot counterbalance the negative effect of TiAl2O5, thus the melting layerof Al2O3+13 wt pct TiO2 coating doped with 3 wt pct SiO2 cracks also.
