2Functional analysis of the ABA-responsive protein family in ABA and stress signal transduction in Arabidopsis显示文摘The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)plays an important role in plant growth and development,for example in seed dormancy and germination,as well as in plant responses to environmental stresses,such as drought and high salinity.Previous studies have shown that ABA regulates the expression of genes with an ABA-responsive element(ABRE)and their corresponding physiological responses.Bioinformatics analysis identified a GRAM domain-containing gene family that has a multiple ABRE cis-element,which was termed the ABA-responsive protein(ABR)family.To analyze the function of the ABR family,we identified homozygous T-DNA insertion mutants and constructed abr1,2,3 double mutants and triple mutant.The abr1,abr2 and abr3single mutants showed a normal phenotype;however,the germination of seeds of the double mutants and triple mutant were insensitive to ABA,NaCl,mannitol and glucose.ABR1-GFP was distributed as a punctate structure in the cytosol and may be localized in the endomembrane system.The ABR2-GFP and ABR3-GFP proteins localized in the cytoplasm.In addition,ABR1,ABR2 and ABR3 were expressed in various tissues,and could be induced by several abiotic stresses,especially by ABA.The expressions of these genes were significantly suppressed in aba2,abi1 and abi2 null mutants.These results suggested that the ABR family may act downstream of ABI1 and ABI2 in the ABA signal transduction process in plants.LIU LingYun LI Na YAO ChunPeng MENG SaSa SONG ChunPeng 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,31:7

5Detection of Hydrazine at MXene/ZIF-8 Nanocomposite Modified Electrode显示文摘ZIF-8 with excellent chemical and physical properties is a promising material for the field of electrochemical sensing.However,the poor electrical conductivity of ZIF-8 severely limits its electrochemical performance.Here,we report a method that can significantly improve the conductivity of ZIF-8 by intercalating Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene as a conductive platform.Benefiting from higher conductivity and unique electrocatalytic activity,the obtained MXene/ZIF-8 nanocomposite presented the worthy analytical performance for hydrazine sensing.The successful fabrication of MXene/ZIF-8 holds great promise for the design of electrochemical sensors,and it is a promising material to promote the development of new electrode materials.Yanqing Yao Xuhui Han Xuanhe Yang Jia Zhao Chunpeng Chai 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,2:1
6Strong and Superhydrophobic Wood with Aligned Cellulose Nanofibers as a Waterproof Structural Material显示文摘Lightweight structural materials are important for the energy efficiency of applications,particularly those in the building sector.Here,inspired by nature,we developed a strong,superhydrophobic,yet lightweight material by simple in situ growth of nano-SiO2 and subsequent densification of the wood substrate.In situ generation of SiO2 nanoparticles both inside the wood channels and on the wood surfaces gives the material superhydrophobicity,with static and dynamic contact angles of 159.4°and 3°,respectively.Densification of the wood to remove most of the spaces among the lumen and cell walls results in a laminated,dense structure,with aligned cellulose nanofibers,which in turn contributes to a high mechanical strength up to 384.2 MPa(7-times higher than natural wood).Such treatment enables the strong and superhydrophobic wood(SH-Wood)to be stable and have excellent water,acid,and alkaline resistance.The high mechanical strength of SH-Wood combined with its excellent structural stability in harsh environments,as well its low density,positions the strong and superhydrophobic wood as a promising candidate for strong,lightweight,and durable structural materials that could potentially replace steel.Yongfeng Li Chaoji Chen Jianwei Song Chunpeng Yang Yudi Kuang Azhar Vellore Emily Hitz Mingwei Zhu Feng Jiang Yonggang Yao Amy Gong Ashlie Martini Liangbing Hu 2020Chinese Journal of Chemistry2020,38,8:1

8High-density genetic mapping identified a major locus for environmental sex expression in pumpkin(Cucurbita moschata Duch.)显示文摘Long-day length and high temperature inhibit sex expression in pumpkin(Cucurbita moschata Duch.),and therefore directly impact the production potential.In this study,female flowering patterns in photoperiod-insensitive(PPIS)and photoperiod-sensitive(PPS)germplasms differed significantly in a moderately long day and high temperature environment.However,both germplasms exhibited a similar response in short day with either low temperature or high temperature environment.Photoperiod sensitivity led to this difference in sex expression between the germplasms.For the traits of 1st female flowering node(FFFN)and number of female flowers(NFF),high-density linkage map construction and quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping were performed using SLAF-seq technology and 162 F_(2) individuals generated from PPIS and PPS.In total,4655 SLAFs were selected and mapped on 20 linkage groups(LGs).The total map length was 2502.01 cM with an average interval distance of 0.75 cM.Major QTLs for both FFFN and NFF were detected on LG6 with intervals of 7.89 and 17.67 cM and PVE values of 30.5%and 22.9%,respectively.Further analyses of the major locus for FFFN revealed 73 protein-coding genes.Among them,4 were related to sex expression,photoperiod flowering,and hormone response.An InDel(insertion and deletion)marker partially correlated with FFFN of the F_(2) population was also developed.Our study identified the QTL for the sex expression response to environmental factors using the high-density linkage map.The identified candidate genes and markers will provide useful information about the molecular interaction between the environment and sex expression and for marker-assisted selection of pumpkin environment-insensitive resources.Hafiz Muhammad Khalid Abbas Hexun Huang Tingquan Wu Rui Wang Hu Du Sen Lu Shudan Xue Chunpeng Yao Qingmin Jin Yujuan Zhong 2022Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,5:0
