1Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted.Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,12:3

6Bonding Efficacy of a Self-adhesive Resin Cement to Enamel and Dentin显示文摘With the objective to evaluate the bonding efficacy of a new self-adhesive resin cement(RelyX Unicem, 3M ESPE) to enamel and dentin using a shear bonding strengths test with or without acid etching pretreatment, flat buccal dentin surface and mesial/distal enamel surface were made using a high-speed diamond bur. Copper rings were luted using Rely X Unicem(RU; 3M ESPE), Panavia F(PF; Kuraray) or Vitique(VI; DMG). For RU, the shear bonding strengths using GL(Gluma Etch, Heraeus) acid etching pretreatment were also tested. The teeth were placed into copper rings(inner diameter: 16 mm, height: 4mm) and embedded in methylmethacrylate resin. The specimens were stored for 24 h in distilled water at 37 ℃ prior to shear bonding strengths testing. In addition, bond failures were examined by optical microscope and categorized as 4 models such as different adhesive, cohesive, or mixed. Shear bonding strengths were calculated by dividing the maximum debonding force over the cross sectional area of each specimen. The Kruskal-Wallis test was used to determine pairwise statistical differences(P < 0.05) in SBS between the experimental groups. For dentin bonding strength, statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference among RU(12.84 MPa), PF(14.93 MPa) and VI(11.03 MP); and the bonding strengths of them were higher than RU with acid etching pretreatment(9.12 MP). When bonded to enamel, PF(17.99 MP) and VI(17.58 MP) scored significantly higher than RU efficacy.The use of self-adhesive cement Rely X Unicem can obtain the bonding strengths to dentin similar to traditional resin cements. 8Cu_(1)-B dual-active sites catalysts for the efficient dehydrogenative coupling and CO_(2)electroreduction显示文摘Dual-active sites(DASs)catalysts have positive potential applications in broad fields because of their specific active sites and synergistic catalytic effects.Therefore,the controllable synthesis and finely regulating the activity of such catalysts has become a hot research area for now.In this work,we developed a pyrolysis-etching-hydrogen activation strategy to prepare the DASs catalysts involving single-atom Cu and B on N-doped porous carbon material(Cu_(1)-B/NPC).Numerous systematic characterization and density functional theoretical(DFT)calculation results showed that the Cu and B existed as Cu-N4 porphyrinlike unit and B-N_(3)unit in the obtained catalyst.DFT calculations further revealed that single-atom Cu and B sites were linked by bridging N atoms to form the Cu_(1)-B-N6 dual-sites.The Cu_(1)-B/NPC catalyst was more effective than the single-active site catalysts with B-N_(3)sites in NPC(B/NPC)and Cu-N4 porphyrin-like sites in NPC(Cu_(1)/NPC),respectively,for the dehydrogenative coupling of dimethylphenylsilane(DiMPSH)with various alcohols,performing the great activity(>99%)and selectivity(>99%).The catalytic performances of the Cu_(1)-B/NPC catalyst remained nearly unchanged after five cycles,also indicating its outstanding recyclability.DFT calculations showed that the Cu_(1)-B-N6 dual-sites exhibited the lowest energy profile on the potential energy surface than that of sole B-N_(3)and Cu-N4 porphyrin-like sites.Furthermore,the rate-limiting step of dehydrogenation of DiMPSH on Cu_(1)-B-N6 dual-sites also showed a much lower activation energy than the other two single sites.Benefitting from the superiority of the Cu_(1)-B-N6 dual-sites,the Cu_(1)-B/NPC catalyst can also be used for CO_(2)electroreduction to produce syngas.Thus,DASs catalysts are promising to achieve multifunctional catalytic properties and have aroused positive attention in the field of catalysis.Konglin Wu Zhaobin Fang Cheng Peng Yining Zhang Binbin Jiang Yanshang Kang Zhiming Chen Mingfu Ye Yuxi Wu Xianwen Wei Shoujie Liu Sha Li Jian Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
9Cobalt-free Composite Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Fe_(0.9)Ni_(0.1)O_(3-δ)-Ce_(0.8)Sm_(0.2)O_(2-δ) as Cathode for Intermediate-Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cell显示文摘New cobalt-free composites consisting of Ba0.5Sr0.5Fe0.9Ni0.1O3-δ(BSFN) and Ce0.8Sm0.2O2-δ(SDC) were investigated as possible cathode materials for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC). BSFN, which was synthesized by auto ignition process, was chemically compatible with SDC up to 1100℃ as indicated by X-ray diffraction analysis. The electrical conductivity of BSFN reached the maximum value of 57 S·cm-1 at 450℃. The thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) value of BSFN was 30.9×10-6K-1 , much higher than that of typical electrolytes. The electrochemical behavior of the composites was analyzed via electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with symmetrical cells BSFN-SDC/SDC/BSFN-SDC. The area specific interfacial polarization resistance (ASR) decreased with increasing SDC content of the composite. The area specific interfacial polarization resistance (ASR) at 700℃ is only 0.49, 0.34 and 0.31 Ω·cm2 when 30, 40, and 50 wt% SDC was cooperated to BSFN, respectively. 11Inhibitory Effects of Cordyceps militaris( Bombyx mori )Extract against Respiratory Syncytial Virus显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effects of 95%,70% ethanol extracts and water extract of Cordyceps militaris( Bombyx mori). on cells infected with respiratory syncytial virus( RSV).[Method] Human embryonic kidney cells( HEK293,RSV virus-sensitive cells) were infected with respiratory syncytial virus and incubated with tissue cell culture method,to analyze the inhibitory effects of different extracts of Cordyceps militaris( Bombyx mori) on proliferation of RSV-infected cells by cytopathic effect( CPE) observation and tetrazolium salt reduction assay( MTT method).[Result]Different extracts of Cordyceps militaris( Bombyx mori) were non-toxic to HEK293 cells. CPE occurred successively in various sample groups after 48 h,and the degree of CPE was reduced gradually with the increasing concentration. To be specific,95% ethanol extract(100 μg / ml),70% ethanol extract(100,25 μg / ml) and water extract(100,25 μg/ml) of Cordyceps militaris(Bombyx mori) exhibited inhibitory effects against RSV subtype A; 70% ethanol extract(100,25 μg/ml) and water extract(100,25 μg / ml) of Cordyceps militaris( Bombyx mori) exhibited inhibitory effects against RSV subtype B; the effects of water extract(100 μg / ml) of Cordyceps militaris( Bombyx mori) on RSV subtypes A and B were similar to positive control group. However,different extracts of Cordyceps militaris( Bombyx mori) with low concentrations(6. 25,1. 56 μg / ml) exhibited no inhibitory effects against respiratory syncytial virus. 13Photovoltaic molecules based on vinylene-bridged oligothiophene applied for bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells显示文摘We have synthesized two photovoltaic molecules(HEX-3TVT-ID and EH-3TVT-ID) based on vinylenebridged oligothiophene applied as donor for the solution-processable bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells(OSCs). Vinylene unit was introduced as π-bridge in the oligothiophenes with 1,3-indenedione as end group and 4,4'-dihexyl-2,2':5',2'-terthiophene or 3',4'-di(octan-3-yl)-2,2':5',2'-terthiophene as core,respectively. Due to the different substituent positions of the alkyl group relative to the vinylene unit in the terthiophene, HEX-3TVT-ID and EH-3TVT-ID show different optical and electrochemical properties, corresponding to the photovoltaic performance of the OSCs devices. The power conversion efficiency(PCE) of the OSCs based on a blend of HEX-3TVT-ID and PC_(71)BM(1:0.8, weight ratio, 0.5% CN) reached 2.3%.
