1Preparation of polypropylene/montmorillonite nanocomposites by intercalative polymerization:Effect of in situ polymer matrix functionalization on the stability of the nanocomposite structure显示文摘The copolymerization of propylene and 5-hexenyl-9-borabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (5-hexenyl-9-BBN) has been conducted with an MgCl2/TiCl4 catalyst intercalated in an organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT) with triethylaluminum (AlEt3) cocatalyst and diphenyldimethoxysilane (DDS) external donor. This polymerization process simultaneously results in both the exfoliation of MMT layers to realize the preparation of polypropylene (PP)/MMT nanocomposites and the implantation of reactive borane groups in the formed PP matrix. The polymer-borne borane groups have been able to undergo an effi-cient hydrolysis process under very mild reaction conditions (40℃, 3 h, in THF), introducing hydroxy groups into PP without sacrificing the polymerization-formed nanocomposite structure (the exfoliation of MMT). The resultant hydroxyl-functionalized PP/MMT nanocomposites exhibit enhanced structural stability against processing compared with those based on unfunctionalized PP matrix.YANG KeFang HUANG YingJuan DONG JinYong 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,2:9

8Cross-species recognition and molecular basis of SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV binding to ACE2s of marine animals显示文摘Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has an extremely broad host range that includes hippopotami,which are phylogenetically closely related to whales.The cellular ACE2 receptor is one of the key determinants of the host range.Here,we found that from several marine mammals and hippopotami could efficiently bind to the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of both SARS-C oV and SARS-C oV-2 and facilitate the trans duction of SARS-C oV and SARS-C oV-2 pseudo viruses into ACE2-expressing cells.We further resolved the cryo-electron microscopy complex structures of the minke whale ACE2 and sea lion ACE2,respectively,bound to the RBDs,revealing that they have similar binding modes to human ACE2 when it comes to the SARS-C oV-2 RBD and SARS-C oV RBD.Our results indicate that marine mammals could potentially be new victims or virus carriers of SARS-C oV-2,which deserves further careful investigation and study.It will provide an early warning for the prospective monitoring of marine mammals.Shihua Li Ruirui Yang Di Zhang Pu Han Zepeng Xu Qian Chen Runchu Zhao Xin Zhao Xiao Qu Anqi Zheng Liang Wang Linjie Li Yu Hu Rong Zhang Chao Su Sheng Niu Yanfang Zhang Jianxun Qi Kefang Liu Qihui Wang George F.Gao 2022National Science Review2022,9,9:0

10Licorice-saponin A3 is a broad-spectrum inhibitor for COVID-19 by targeting viral spike and anti-inflammation显示文摘Currently,human health due to corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has been seriously threatened.The coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)spike(S)protein plays a crucial role in virus transmission and several S-based therapeutic approaches have been approved for the treatment of COVID-19.However,the efficacy is compromised by the SARS-CoV-2 evolvement and mutation.Here we report the SARS-CoV-2 S protein receptor-binding domain(RBD)inhibitor licorice-saponin A3(A3)could widely inhibit RBD of SARS-CoV-2 variants,including Beta,Delta,and Omicron BA.1,XBB and BQ1.1.Furthermore,A3 could potently inhibit SARS-CoV-2 Omicron virus in Vero E6 cells,with EC50 of 1.016μM.The mechanism was related to binding with Y453 of RBD determined by hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry(HDX-MS)analysis combined with quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics(QM/MM)simulations.Interestingly,phosphoproteomics analysis and multi fluorescent immunohistochemistry(mIHC)respectively indicated that A3 also inhibits host inflammation by directly modulating the JNK and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)pathways and rebalancing the corresponding immune dysregulation.This work supports A3 as a promising broad-spectrum small molecule drug candidate for COVID-19.Yang Yi Wenzhe Li Kefang Liu Heng Xue Rong Yu Meng Zhang Yang-Oujie Bao Xinyuan Lai Jingjing Fan Yuxi Huang Jing Wang Xiaomeng Shi Junhua Li Hongping Wei Kuanhui Xiang Linjie Li Rong Zhang Xin Zhao Xue Qiao Hang Yang Min Ye 2024Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2024,14,1:0
