| 1 | An Asynchronous Adaptive Priority Round-Robin Arbiter Based on Four-Phase Dual-rail Protocol显示文摘An asynchronous Adaptive priority roundrobin arbiter(APRA) based on four-phase dual-rail protocol is proposed. Combining the advantages of synchronous and asynchronous circuits, it provides the required bandwidth allocation on basis of arbitration fairness and works in synchronous So C. In the Nonidling and nonpreemptive(NINP) model, simulations and verifications are made. The results show that the speed of the proposed arbiter is improved by 18%–50.4% and the dynamic and static power is reduced by 8.4%–46.2% and 81.8%–90.9% respectively compared with the commonly-used Fixed priority(FP),Round-Robin(RR) and Lottery arbiters. The proposed arbiter is better in output bandwidth allocation and it also has advantages in speed and power. | 5 | Wheat male-sterile 2 reduces ROS levels to inhibit anther development by deactivating ROS modulator 1显示文摘Ms2 is an important dominant male-sterile gene in wheat,but the biochemical function of Ms2 and the mechanism by which it causes male sterility remain elusive.Here,we report the molecular basis underlying Ms2-induced male sterility in wheat.We found that activated Ms2 specifically reduces the reactive oxygen species(ROS)signals in anthers and thereby induces termination of wheat anther development at an early stage.Furthermore,our results indicate that Ms2 is localized in mitochondria,where it physically interacts with a wheat homolog of ROS modulator 1(TaRomo1).Romo1 positively regulates the ROS levels in humans but has never been studied in plants.We found that single amino acid substitutions in the Ms2 protein that rescue the ms2 male-sterile phenotype abolish the interaction between Ms2 and TaRomo1.Significantly,Ms2 promotes the transition of TaRomo1 proteins from active monomers to inactive oligomers.Taken together,our findings unravel the molecular basis of Ms2-induced male sterility and reveal a regulatory mechanism in which ROS act as essential signals guiding the anther development program in wheat. | Jie Liu Chuan Xia Huixue Dong Pan Liu Ruizhen Yang Lichao Zhang Xu Liu Jizeng Jia Xiuying Kong Jiaqiang Sun | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,9: | 1 |

| 12 | Time series canopy phenotyping enables the identification of genetic variants controlling dynamic phenotypes in soybean显示文摘Advances in plant phenotyping technologies are dramatically reducing the marginal costs of collecting multiple phenotypic measurements across several time points.Yet,most current approaches and best statistical practices implemented to link genetic and phenotypic variation in plants have been developed in an era of single-time-point data.Here,we used time-series phenotypic data collected with an unmanned aircraft system for a large panel of soybean(Glycine max(L.)Merr.)varieties to identify previously uncharacterized loci.Specifically,we focused on the dissection of canopy coverage(CC)variation from this rich data set.We also inferred the speed of canopy closure,an additional dimension of CC,from the time-series data,as it may represent an important trait for weed control.Genome-wide association studies(GWASs)identified 35 loci exhibiting dynamic associations with CC across developmental stages.The time-series data enabled the identification of 10 known flowering time and plant height quantitative trait loci(QTLs)detected in previous studies of adult plants and the identification of novel QTLs influencing CC.These novel QTLs were disproportionately likely to act earlier in development,which may explain why they were missed in previous single-time-point studies.Moreover,this time-series data set contributed to the high accuracy of the GWASs,which we evaluated by permutation tests,as evidenced by the repeated identification of loci across multiple time points.Two novel loci showed evidence of adaptive selection during domestication,with different genotypes/haplotypes favored in different geographic regions.In summary,the time-series data,with soybean CC as an example,improved the accuracy and statistical power to dissect the genetic basis of traits and offered a promising opportunity for crop breeding with quantitative growth curves. | Delin Li Dong Bai Yu Tian Ying-Hui Li Chaosen Zhao Qi Wang Shiyu Guo Yongzhe Gu Xiaoyan Luan Ruizhen Wang Jinliang Yang Malcolm J.Hawkesford James C.Schnable Xiuliang Jin Li-Juan Qiu | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,1: | 0 |
