1Heterotic Group Classification of 63 Inbred Lines and Hybrid Purity Identification by Using SSR Markers in Winter Cabbage(Brassica Oleracea L. var. capitata)显示文摘Winter cabbage is an important crop cultivated through winter in the region near the Yangtze River, enabling the supply of fresh cabbage there at that time of year. However, a problem has emerged regarding the newly developed parents of winter cabbage, which is completely different from spring and autumn cabbage, namely, how to combine these parents to breed an elite hybrid. To classify the heterotic groups and improve the efficiency of parent selection in winter cabbage breeding, 20 polymorphic SSR markers were selected to screen 63 winter cabbage inbred lines. Seventeen pairs among the 20 SSR markers amplified polymorphic bands. These primers amplified two to six bands,with an average of 2.8 bands per primer, and a total of 47 polymorphic bands were generated in the 63 inbred lines. These lines included flatheaded morphotype and round-headed morphotype, thus they were separately classified into heterotic groups based on the SSR markers. The flat-headed morphotype contained 21 inbred lines and was classified into three heterotic groups, named Hanchun 4, Jiali, and Dongsheng, in accordance with the representative germplasm contained in each group. The round-headed morphotype contained 42 inbred lines and was classified into five heterotic groups, named Parte, Bejo1039, YK-143, SCA002, and Golden B90. Meanwhile, parent analysis of 20 developed elite combinations showed that their parents were all distributed in different heterotic groups, indicating that the group classification was reasonable,which can provide a basis for further parent selection in winter cabbage breeding. 2Synthesis and Flocculation Property of Chitosan-Acrylamide Graft Copolymer显示文摘Chitosan, as a kind of natural polymer, has many advantages, such as abundant sources, biological degradation, no secondary contamination and facile modification. In this work, we prepared modified chitosan flocculants with double electrical behavior via polymerizing chitosan, acrylamide and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose together by using ammonium persulfate as the indicator in water. The product is a comb-type of chitosan copolymer and a polymeric ampholyte. And then we studied the product by FTIR, UV-Vis, TG, DSC spectrometeries and viscometry, etc. We also performed CACM′s water treat experiment. 3Utilization of Ogura CMS germplasm with the clubroot resistance gene by fertility restoration and cytoplasm replacement in Brassica oleracea L显示文摘Clubroot disease,a major plant root disease caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae,has become one of the most destructive diseases among cultivated cruciferous vegetables.However,clubroot-resistant Brassica oleracea materials are rare.A few clubroot-resistant cabbage varieties are available on the market,but all are Ogura cytoplasmic male sterile(CMS)types.Therefore,in this study,to reutilize the clubroot-resistant Ogura CMS germplasm of cabbage,a new fertility-restored Ogura CMS material,16Q2-11,was used as a bridge to transfer the clubroot resistance(CR)gene from the Ogura CMS cytoplasm to the normal cytoplasm by a two-step method(a fertility restoration and cytoplasm replacement method).In the first cross for fertility restoration of Ogura CMS clubroot-resistant cabbage(FRCRC),16Q2-11 was used as a restorer to cross with Ogura CMS materials containing the CR gene CRb2.Eleven Rfo-positive progenies were generated,of which four contained CRb2:F8-514,F8-620,F8-732 and F8-839.After inoculation with race 4 of P.brassicae,these four CRb2-positive individuals showed resistance.Furthermore,F8-514 and F8-839 were then used as male parents in the second cross of FRCRC to cross with cabbage inbred lines,resulting in the successful introgression of the CRb2 gene into the inbred lines.All offspring produced from this step of cross,which had a normal cytoplasm,showed a high resistance to race 4 of P.brassicae and could be utilized for the breeding of clubrootresistant cabbage varieties in the future.This is the first time that the Ogura CMS restorer has been used to restore the fertility of Ogura CMS clubroot-resistant cabbages,which could improve germplasm diversity in cabbage and provide a reference method for using CMS germplasm in Brassica crops.Wenjing Ren Zhiyuan Li Fengqing Han Bin Zhang Xing Li Zhiyuan Fang Limei Yang Mu Zhuang Honghao Lv Yumei Liu Yong Wang Hailong Yu Yangyong Zhang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:7
4Microstructures and Properties of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Zr Alloys with Minor Scandium显示文摘The microstructures of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Zr alloys with minor Sc were studied by using optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope(TEM). The tensile mechanical properties and electric conductivity of the studied alloys under different treatment conditions were tested. The results show that adding minor Sc can greatly fines the grain size of the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Zr alloy ingots and obviously improves the tensile properties and electric conductivity of the alloys. The strengthening mechanism is considered as fine grain strengthening, sub-structure strengthening and dispersion strengthening by Al3(Sc, Zr). 5An update on the arsenal:mining resistance genes for disease management of Brassica crops in the genomic era显示文摘Brassica species include many economically important crops that provide nutrition and health-promoting substances to humans worldwide.However,as with all crops,their production is constantly threatened by emerging viral,bacterial,and fungal diseases,whose incidence has increased in recent years.Traditional methods of control are often costly,present limited effectiveness,and cause environmental damage;instead,the ideal approach is to mine and utilize the resistance genes of the Brassica crop hosts themselves.Fortunately,the development of genomics,molecular genetics,and biological techniques enables us to rapidly discover and apply resistance(R)genes.Herein,the R genes identified in Brassica crops are summarized,including their mapping and cloning,possible molecular mechanisms,and application in resistance breeding.Future perspectives concerning how to accurately discover additional R gene resources and efficiently utilize these genes in the genomic era are also discussed.Honghao Lv Zhiyuan Fang Limei Yang Yangyong Zhang Yong Wang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2

13Insights into the mechanism of Sub3 inhibiting Fusarium moniliforme infection in maize显示文摘Fusarium moniliforme(F.moniliforme) and its secondary metabolite fumonisin pose a severe threat to food safety,and searching for effective antimicrobial agents is a focus of current research.In this study,the secondary structure of Sub3 was analyzed by circular dichroism,meanwhile,the inhibition rate of Sub3 against spores,mycelia of F.moniliforme and infected maize was studied.To explore the possible inhibition mechanisms,morphological and structural changes of spores treated with Sub3 at0,1/2 MIC(minimum inhibitory concentration) and MIC were observed by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy;the cell wall integrity,membrane integrity,reactive oxygen species,mitochondrial membrane potential,ATP synthase activity,redox reactions,and the nuclear damage of F.moniliforme were also investigated.The results showed that Sub3 was mostly in the state of random in deionized water,while mainly showed the β-sheet structure in the hydrophobic environment of 50% Trifluoroethanol(TFE) solution,indicating that Sub3 might generate partial structure deformation when acting on the cell membrane;and its MIC on F.moniliforme spores was 0.2 g/L.Under the 1/2 MIC and MIC,the inhibition rates of Sub3 against F.moniliforme infected maize were 34.3% and75.6%,respectively.The results of inhibition mechanisms revealed that the defective pathogenicity of F.moniliforme caused by Sub3 was attributed to damages on both the cell wall and the cell membrane,which might upset balance of intracellular redox system and mitochondrial energy metabolism and trigger nucleus damage,ultimately leading to cell death.Meanwhile,Sub3 could diminished ATP synthase enzyme activity in a dose-dependent manner.The results provided direct evidence for inhibition of F.moniliforme infection of maize by Sub3,and useful knowledge applicable for food preservation.Haojie Yang Wei Zhang Pingping Tian Bangbang Li Shan Wei Shuaibing Zhang Na Li Yangyong Lyu Yuansen Hu 2022Grain & Oil Science and Technology2022,5,1:1

17Crosslinking and functionalization of acellular patches via the self-assembly of copper@tea polyphenol nanoparticles显示文摘Decellularization is a promising technique to produce natural scaffolds for tissue engineering applications.However,non-crosslinked natural scaffolds disfavor application in cardiovascular surgery due to poor biomechanics and rapid degradation.Herein,we proposed a green strategy to crosslink and functionalize acellular scaffolds via the self-assembly of copper@tea polyphenol nanoparticles(Cu@TP NPs),and the resultant nanocomposite acellular scaffolds were named as Cu@TP-dBPs.The crosslinking degree,biomechanics,denaturation temperature and resistance to enzymatic degradation of Cu@TP-dBPs were comparable to those of glutaraldehyde crosslinked decellularized bovine pericardias(Glut-dBPs).Furthermore,Cu@TP-dBPs were biocompatible and had abilities to inhibit bacterial growth and promote the formation of capillary-like networks.Subcutaneous implantation models demonstrated that Cu@TP-dBPs were free of calcification and allowed for host cell infiltration at Day 21.Cardiac patch graft models confirmed that Cu@TP-dBP patches showed improved ingrowth of functional blood vessels and remodeling of extracellular matrix at Day 60.These results suggested that Cu@TP-dBPs not only had comparable biomechanics and biostability to Glut-dBPs,but also had several advantages over Glut-dBPs in terms of anticalcification,remodeling and integration capabilities.Particularly,they were functional patches possessing antibacterial and proangiogenic activities.Thesematerial properties and biological functionsmade Cu@TP-dBPs a promising functional acellular patch for cardiovascular applications.Qin Li Yuan Gao Jiajun Zhang Yangfeng Tang Yangyong Sun Lujia Wu Hao Wu Meifang Shen Xiaohong Liu Lin Han Zhiyun Xu 2022Regenerative Biomaterials2022,9,1:1
