1Bilayer dissolving microneedle array containing 5-fluorouracil and triamcinolone with biphasic release profile for hypertrophic scar therapy显示文摘Hypertrophic scar(HS)is an undesirable skin abnormality following deep burns or operations.Although intralesional multi-injection with the suspension of triamcinolone acetonide(TA)and 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu)has exhibited great promise to HS treatment in clinical,the difference of metabolic behavior between TA and 5-Fu remarkably compromised the treatment efficacy.Besides,the traditional injection with great pain is highly dependent on the skill of the experts,which results in poor compliance.Herein,a bilayer dissolving microneedle(BMN)containing TA and 5-Fu(TA-5-Fu-BMN)with biphasic release profile was designed for HS therapy.Equipped with several micro-scale needle tips,the BMN could be self-pressed into the HS with uniform drug distribution and less pain.Both in vitro permeation and in vivo HS retention tests revealed that TA and 5-Fu could coexist in the scar tissue for a sufficient time period due to the well-designed biphasic release property.Subsequently,the rabbit ear HS model was established to assess therapeutic efficacy.The histological analysis showed that TA-5-Fu-BMN could significantly reduce abnormal fibroblast proliferation and collagen fiber deposition.It was also found that the value of scar elevation index was ameliorated to a basal level,together with the downregulation of mRNA and protein expression of Collagen I(Col I)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)after application of TA-5-Fu-BMN.In conclusion,the BMN with biphasic release profiles could serve as a potential strategy for HS treatment providing both convenient administrations as well as controlled drug release behavior.Beibei Yang Yating Dong Yifeng Shen Ailin Hou Guilan Quan Xin Pan Chuanbin Wu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,8:8
2Heavy soil drying during mid-to-late grain filling stage of the main crop to reduce yield loss of the ratoon crop in a mechanized rice ratooning system显示文摘Yield loss(Y_(Loss)) in the ratoon crop due to crushing damage to left stubble from mechanical harvesting of the main crop is a constraint for wide adoption of mechanized rice ratooning technology.Soil drying before the harvest of the main crop has been proposed to overcome this problem.The objective of this study was to determine the effect of soil drying during the mid-to-late grain filling stage of the main crop on grain yield of the ratoon crop in a mechanized rice ratooning system.Field experiments were conducted to compare Y_(Loss) between light(LD) and heavy(HD) soil drying treatments in Hubei province,central China in 2017 and 2018.Y_(Loss) was calculated as the percentage of yield reduction in the ratoon crop with the main crop harvested mechanically,relative to the grain yield of the ratoon crop with the main crop harvested manually.In comparison with LD,soil hardness was increased by 42.8%-84.7% in HD at the 5-20 cm soil depth at maturity of the main crop.Soil hardness at 5 and 10 cm depths reached respectively 4.05 and 7.07 kg cm^(-2) in HD.Soil drying treatment did not significantly affect the grain yield of the main crop.Under mechanical harvesting of the main crop,HD increased the grain yield of the ratoon crop by 9.4% relative to LD.Consequently,Y_(Loss) was only 3.4% in HD,in contrast to 16.3% in LD.The differences in grain yield and Y_(Loos) between the two soil drying treatments were explained mainly by panicles m^(-2),which was increased significantly by HD in the track zone of the ratoon crop compared with LD.These results suggest that heavy soil drying practice during the mid-to-late grain filling stage of the main crop is effective for reducing Y_(Loss) of the ratoon crop in a mechanized rice ratooning system.Chang Zheng Yuechao Wang Shen Yuan Sen Xiao Yating Sun Jianliang Huang Shaobing Peng 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,1:3

17Thermally conductive poly(lactic acid)/boron nitride composites via regenerated cellulose assisted Pickering emulsion approach显示文摘Polymer-based thermally conductive composites have attracted tremendous interest in thermal management of electronics.However,it remains challenging to achieve high thermal conductivity partly because the difficulty to obtain favorable distribution and orientation of conductive fillers within the polymer matrix.Herein,networked boron nitride(BN)conductive pathway was realized within the poly(lactic acid)(PLA)matrix,via regenerated cellulose(RC)-assisted assembly of BN on Pickering emulsion interface based on the noncovalent interaction,followed by solvent evaporation and hot-compressing.The strong noncovalent interactions between BN and RC were found critical to enhance the wettability and stability of BN in aqueous media with a lowest mass ratio of 1:40 of RC and BN.The obtained PLA/BN composites feature a thermal conductivity of 1.06 W/(m K)at 28.4 wt%BN loading,representing an enhancement of 430%comparing to neat PLA,and the crystallinity of the composites could increase significantly from11.7%(neat PLA)to 43.7%.This simple,environmentally friendly and effective strategy could be easily extended for effective construction of thermally conductive composites.Yating Wang Hong Jin Jiajun Shen Bijia Wang Xueling Feng Zhiping Mao Yumei Zhang Xiaofeng Sui 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,6:1

20Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence of Aggregates Induced by Strongπ–πInteractions and Reversible Dual-Responsive Luminescence Switching显示文摘A reversible dual-responsive luminescent material was introduced by our group to show the simultaneous color and lifetime switching in response to external stimuli.Pristine crystalline powder of(E)-2-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-3-(pyren-1-yl)acrylonitrile(Py-BZTCN)shows the orderedπ–πstacking with only near-monomer-normal orange-yellow fluorescence,but it exhibits red emission with thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)after grinding,which can be reversibly recovered by heating or fuming treatment.Grinding disturbs the orderedπ–πstacking of pristine powder,leading to the formation of small aggregates with compressed distance and increased overlap ofπ–πstacking between adjacent molecules.The cause of switching was verified by single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments of two corresponding crystals.This strongπ–πinteraction effectively promotes the excited-state energy splitting and substantially decreases the singlet–triplet energy gap(ΔEST)of aggregates,resulting in the red TADF emission of aggregates through reverse intersystem crossing.This finding proposes a new route to realizing the TADF emission of aggregates through strong intermolecular interactions based on non-TADF monomer,thereby enabling a novel high-contrast dualresponsive luminescence switching.Xiangyu Zhang Tong Lu Changjiang Zhou Haichao Liu Yating Wen Yue Shen Bao Li Shi-Tong Zhang Bing Yang 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,2:0
