Recent developments in nanofiltration membranes based on nanomaterials显示文摘Nanofiltration membranes are the core elements for nanofiltration process. The chemical structures and physical properties of nanofiltration membranes determine water permeability, solute selectivity, mechanical/thermal stability, and antifouling properties, which greatly influence the separation efficiency and operation cost in nanofiltration applications. In recent years, a great progress has been made in the development of high performance nanofiltration membranes based on nanomaterials. Considering the increasing interest in this field, this paper reviews the recent studies on the nanofiltration membranes comprising various nanomaterials, including the metal and metal oxide nanoparticles, carbon-based nanomaterials, metal–organic frameworks(MOFs), water channel proteins, and organic micro/nanoparticles. Finally, a perspective is given on the further exploitation of advanced nanomaterials and novel strategy for fabricating nano-based nanofiltration membranes. Moreover, the development of precision instruments and simulation techniques is necessary for the characterization of membrane microstructure and investigation of the separation and antifouling mechanism of nanofiltration membranes prepared with nanomaterials. | Yanli Ji Weijie Qian Yawei Yu Quanfu An Lifen Liu Yong Zhou Congjie Gao | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,11: | 12
Advanced Nonflammable Localized High-Concentration Electrolyte For High Energy Density Lithium Battery显示文摘The key to realize long-life high energy density lithium batteries is to exploit functional electrolytes capable of stabilizing both high voltage cathode and lithium anode. The emergence of localized high-concentration electrolytes(LHCEs)shows great promise for ameliorating the above-mentioned interfacial issues. In this work,a lithium difluoro(oxalate)borate(LiDFOB)based nonflammable dual-anion LHCE is designed and prepared.Dissolving in the mixture of trimethyl phosphate(TMP)/1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropylether(D_(2)),the continuously consumption of LiDFOB is suppressed by simply introducing lithium nitrate(LiNO_(3)).Meantime,as most of the TMP molecular are coordinated with Li^(+),the electrolyte does not show incompatibility issue between neither metal lithium nor graphite anode. Therefore,it demonstrates excellent capability in stabilizing the interface of Ni-rich cathode and regulating lithium deposition morphology. The Li||LiNi_(0.87)Co_(0.08)Mn_(0.05)O_(2)(NCM87)batteries exhibit high capacity retention of more than 90%after 200 cycles even under the high cutoff voltage of 4.5 V,1 C rate. This study offers a prospective method to develop safe electrolytes suitable for high voltage applications, thus providing higher energy densities. | Mengmin Jia Chi Zhang Yawei Guo Linshan Peng Xiaoyan Zhang Weiwei Qian Lan Zhang Suojiang Zhang | 2022 | Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,4: | 2

A new C=C embedded porphyrin sheet with superior oxygen reduction performance显示文摘C2 is a well-known pseudo-oxygen unit with an electron affinity of 3.4 eV. We show that it can exhibit metal-ion like behavior when embedded in a porphyrin sheet and form a metal-free two-dimensional material with superior oxygen reduction performance. Here, the positively charged C=C units are highly active for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) via dissociation pathways with a small energy barrier of 0.09 eV, much smaller than that of other non-platinum group metal (non-PGM) ORR catalysts. Using a microkinetics-based model we calculated the partial current density to be 3.0 mA/cm2 at 0.65 V vs. a standard hydrogen electrode (SHE), which is comparable to that of the state-of-the-art Pt/C catalyst. We further confirm that the C=C embedded porphyrin sheet is dynamically and thermally stable with a quasi-direct band gap of 1.14 eV. The superior catalytic performance and geometric stability make the metal-free C=C porphyrin sheet ideal for fuel cell applications. | Yawei Li Shunhong Zhang Jiabing Yu Qian Wang Qiang Sun Puru Jena | 2015 | Nano Research2015,8,9: | 1

Lanthanide-based microlasers:Synthesis, structures, and biomedical applications显示文摘The large size of lasers limits their applications in confined spaces, such as in biosensing and in vivo brain tissue imaging. In this regard,micron-sized lasers have been developed. They exhibit great potential for biological detecting, remote sensing, and depth tracking due to their small sizes, sensitive properties of their spectral fingerprints, and flexible positional modulation in the microenvironment.Lanthanide-based luminescent materials that possess long excited-state lifetime, narrow emission bandwidth, and upconversion behaviors are promising as gain mediums for novel microlasers. In addition,lanthanide-based microlasers could be generated under natural ambient conditions with pumped or continuous light sources, which significantly promotes the practical applications of microlasers.Recent progress in the design, synthesis, and biomedical applications of lanthanide-based microlasers has been outlined in this review.Lanthanide ions doped and upconverted lanthanide-based microlasers are highlighted, which exhibit advantageous structures, miniaturized dimensions, and high lasing performance. The applications of lanthanide-based microlasers are further discussed, the upconverted microlasers show great advantages for biological applications owing to their tunable excitation and emission characteristics and excellent environmental stability. Moreover, perspectives and challenges in the field of lanthanide-based microlasers are presented. | Qian Zhang Yawei Liu Kai Liu Hongjie Zhang | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,1: | 0
Boron promoted Fe^(3+)/peracetic acid process for sulfamethazine degradation:Efficiency, role of boron, and identification of the reactive species显示文摘In this work, boron(B)was used to promote Fe^(3+)/peracetic acid(Fe^(3+)/PAA)for the degradation of sulfamethazine(SMT).An SMT degradation efficiency of 9.1%was observed in the Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 60 min, which was significantly increased to 99.3%in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 10 min.The B/Fe^(3+)/PAA process also exhibited superior resistance to natural substances, excellent adaptability to different harmful substances, and good removal of antibiotics in natural fresh water samples. The mechanism of action of boron for Fe^(3+)reduction was determined using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy,density functional theory(DFT)calculations, and electrochemical tests. The dominant role of^(·)OH was confirmed using quenching experiments, electron spin resonance(EPR)spectroscopy, and quantitative tests.Organic radicals(R-O^(·))and Fe(IV)also significantly contribute to the removal of SMT.DFT calculations on the reaction between Fe^(2+)and the PAA were conducted to further determine the contribution from ^(·)OH,R-O^(·),and Fe(IV)from the perspective of thermodynamics and the reaction pathways.Different boron dosages,Fe^(3+)dosages,and initial pH values were also investigated in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system to study their effect of SMT removal and the production of the reactive species.Fe(IV)production determined the k_(R-O·+Fe(IV))value suggesting that Fe(IV)may play a more important role than R-O^(·).A comparison of the results with other processes has also proved that the procedure described in this study(B/Fe^(3+)/PAA)is an effective method for the degradation of antibiotics. | Yanhong Zhang Guangbing Liu Yuzhu Xue Lichun Fu Yawei Qian Minhui Hou Xiang Li Chen Ling Ying Zhang Yuwei Pan | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,1: | 0
Long noncoding RNA lnc_217 regulates hepatic lipid metabolism by modulating lipogenesis and fatty acid oxidation显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered a major health epidemic with an estimated 32.4% worldwide prevalence. No drugs have yet been approved and therapeutic nodes remain a major unmet need. Long noncoding RNAs are emerging as an important class of novel regulators influencing multiple biological processes and the pathogenesis of NAFLD. Herein, we described a novel long noncoding RNA, lnc_217, which was liver enriched and upregulated in high-fat diet-fed mice, and a genetic animal model of NAFLD. We found that liver specific knockdown of lnc_217 was resistant to high-fat diet-induced hepatic lipid accumulation and decreased serum lipid in mice. Mechanistically, we demonstrated that knockdown of lnc_217 not only decreased de novo lipogenesis by inhibiting sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c cleavage but also increased fatty acid β- oxidation through activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α and carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1α. Taken together, we conclude that lnc_217 may be a novel regulator of hepatic lipid metabolism and a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of hepatic steatosis and NAFLD-related metabolic disorders. | Xiaoqing Yuan Yawei Liu Xule Yang Yun Huang Xuan Shen Hui Liang Hongwen Zhou Qian Wang Xu Zhang John Zhong Li | 2023 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2023,37,6: | 0
Soil Moisture Rather than Soil Nutrient Regulates the Belowground Bud Bank of Rhizomatous Species Psammochloa villosa in Arid Sand Dunes显示文摘In arid and semi-arid sand dune ecosystems, belowground bud bank plays an important role in population regeneration and vegetation restoration. However, the responses of belowground bud bank size and composition to sand burial and its induced changes in soil environmental factors have been rarely studied. In arid sand dunes of Northwestern China,we investigated belowground bud bank size and composition of the typical rhizomatous psammophyte Psammochloa villosa as well as three key soil environmental factors(soil moisture, total carbon and total nitrogen)under different depths of sand burial.Total buds and rhizome buds increased significantly with increasing burial depth, whereas tiller buds first increased and then decreased, with a peak value at the depth of 20-30 cm.Soil moisture increased significantly with sand burial depth, and was positively correlated with the number of all buds and rhizome buds.Soil total carbon concentration first increased and then decreased with sand burial depth, and total nitrogen concentration was significantly lower under deep sand burial than those at shallow depths, and only the number of tiller buds was positively correlated with soil total nitrogen concentration. These results indicate that soil moisture rather than soil nutrient might regulate the belowground bud bank of P.villosa, and that clonal psammophytes could regulate their belowground bud bank in response to sand burial and the most important environmental stress(i.e.,soil moisture). These responses,as the key adaptive strategy, may ensure clonal plant population regeneration and vegetation restoration in arid sand dunes. | Yawei Dong Ziyue Guo Qun Ma Zhiming Xin Jin Tao Jiatai Tian Jinlei Zhu Zhiming Zhang Jianqiang Qian | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,5: | 0
