| 1 | Effect of Zuogui pill and Yougui pill on osteoporosis: a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect and safety of Zuogui pill and Yougui pill, classic Yin and Yang tonic formula(CYYTF), in the treatment of osteoporosis and the underlying mechanism.METHODS: Participants aged 55 to 75 with osteoporosis and Kidney deficiency in Traditional Chi-nese Medicine(TCM) will be included and randomly allocated into two groups: treatment group and control group. Participants in the treatment group were treated with Zuogui pill or Yougui pill TCM formula granule, while the control group received placebo. Primary outcomes are the lumbar spine on bone mineral density(BMD)(L1-4) and femoral BMD. Secondary outcomes include pain intensity,health-related quality of life(HRQo L), bone turnover markers and safety.RESULTS: Totally 200 patients were enrolled from December 2014 to April 2016 from four hospitals.There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups at baseline(P > 0.05) and it was good to comparability. Statistically significant differences between the two groups were observed for the lumbar BMD(L1-4), pain VAS scores and HRQo L at six months and twelve months and femoral BMD at twelve months(P < 0.05), but no significant differences for femoral BMD and bone turnover markers at six months(P > 0.05). Moreover, significant difference was observed at different time before and after treatment in terms of lumbar spine(L1-4) BMD, femoral BMD, pain VAS scores and health-related quality of life, and there was an crossover effect between the time and groups before and after treatment. In additional, in the treatment group, 8 patients lost to follow-up and 3 patients had adverse events(AEs) and in the control group, 10 patients lost to follow-up and 2 patients had AEs. No remarkable differences were observed between the two groups with regard to AEs, lost rate and safety(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Zuogui pill or Yougui pill could improve BMD, ease pain, relieve Kidney deficiencysyndrome, improve the quality of life osteoporosis patients, inhibit bone conversion and regulate the coupling balance of bone formation and bone resorption, but long-term efficacy should be confirmed by a longer term follow-up and larger of samples clinical randomized controlled trials. | Li Wenxiong Zhang Kuaiqiang Liu Zhu Liu Li Cheng Yan Yin Jichao Sun Yindi Yang Feng | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018，38，1： | 3 |

| 6 | Determining the efficacy of vitamin B12 mixed oral liquid in the treatment of radiation-induced esophagitis显示文摘Objective This study aimed to investigate the effects of vitamin B12 mixed oral liquid in the treatment of radiation-induced esophagitis in patients with esophageal cancer.Methods Seventy-five patients with esophageal cancer who met the enrollment criteria were randomly divided into the vitamin B12 mixed oral liquid group(39 patients in the study group)and the gentamicin mixed oral liquid group(36 patients in the control group).The effects of the two treatment methods on esophagitis grading,pain degree,body weight loss,and Karnofsky performance status(KPS)score in patients with radiation esophagitis were observed.Results In the control group,grade 1 radiation esophagitis accounted for 27.8%of the total patients,grade 2 accounted for 41.7%,and grades 3 and 4 accounted for 30.6%.In the vitamin B12 treatment group,grade 1 radiation esophagitis accounted for 66.7%of the total patients,grade 2 accounted for 25.6%,and grades 3 and 4 accounted for 7.7%;there was a significant difference between the vitamin B12 treatment group and control group(P<0.01).Similarly,pain caused by radiation esophagitis was significantly improved in the vitamin B12 group compared with the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the average weight loss of the control group was(2.18±0.36)kg,while that of the vitamin B12 treatment group was(0.90±0.43)kg(P<0.05).The KPS scores of the vitamin B12 group were higher than those of the control group,which were 86.2±1.2 and 85.6±1.5,respectively,but there was no statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusion Vitamin B12 mixed oral liquid can effectively reduce the severity of radiation esophagitis,relieve pain,improve patients’quality of life,and increase treatment compliance. | Yindi Tian Ya Guo Yue Ke Yuyan Guo Pengtao Yang Hongbing Ma Baofeng Wang | 2019 | Oncology and Translational Medicine2019，5，5： | 0 |
