Mushroom Poisoning Outbreaks-China,2020显示文摘What is already known about this topic?Acute liver failure, rhabdomyolysis, acute renal failure, and hemolysis caused by poisonous mushrooms are the most important mushroom poisoning threats to the Chinese population. The most notorious lethal mushrooms are the species from genera Amanita,Lepiota, and Galerina that cause acute liver failure, and Russula subnigricans that leads to rhabdomyolysis. What is added by this report? In 2020,the total number of investigations reached 676,involving an estimated 102 species of poisonous mushrooms,24 of which were newly recorded in China.Gyromitra venenata was newly discovered in incidents in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces and were the first reported poisonings due to gyromitrins in China since 2000.The rare poisoning Shiitake mushroom dermatitis was recorded in China.Hemolysis poisoning caused by Paxillus involutus was recorded for the second time since the beginning of the new century, resulting in one death in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. What are the implications for public health practice?Promoting knowledge about safe consumption of mushrooms is essential to reduce mushroom poisonings. It is not wise to collect and eat wild mushrooms. For southwestern provinces such as Yunnan, especially, caution must be exercised with unfamiliar mushroom species.Haijiao Li Hongshun Zhang Yizhe Zhang Jing Zhou Yu Yin Qian He Shaofeng Jiang Peibin Ma Yutao Zhang Ke Wen Yuan Yuan Nan Lang Bowen Cheng Junjia Lu Chengye Sun 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,3:13
Mushroom Poisoning Outbreaks--China,2019显示文摘What is already known about this topic?Mushroom poisoning is becoming one of the most serious food safety issues in China, which is responsible for nearly a half of all oral poisoning deaths. What is added by this report? In China, many mushrooms were previously“recorded”as poisonous. In this study, about 70 species obtained from mushroom poisoning incidents including several new records were confirmed accurately by morphological and molecular evidence in 2019,and spatial and temporal distribution characters of 13 lethal mushrooms were summarized systematically. What are the implications for public health practice?Precise and timely species identification is of pivotal importance in mushroom incidents.More efforts and cooperation are continued to be needed urgently for the governments,CDC staff, doctors and mycologists in future.Haijiao Li Hongshun Zhang Yizhe Zhang Kaiping Zhang Jing Zhou Yu Yin Shaofeng Jiang Peibin Ma Qian He Yutao Zhang Ke Wen Yuan Yuan Nan Lang Junjia Lu Chengye Sun 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,2:11
Mushroom Poisoning Outbreaks — China, 2021显示文摘Summary What is already known about this topic?Mushroom poisoning is one of the most serious food safety issues in China. Most poisoning incidents resulted from eating mushrooms causing gastroenteritis and psycho-neurological disorder from which patients usually could fully recover. Most deaths resulted from species causing acute liver failure and rhabdomyolysis, and the remaining deaths were attributed to acute renal failure and hemolysis. What is added by this report? In 2021,the total number of investigations was 327 from 25 provincial-level administrative divisions, involving 923 patients and 20 deaths, and the overall mortality was 2.17%.Overall,74 poisonous mushrooms causing 6 different clinical syndromes were successfully identified,15 of which were newly recorded in China as poisonous mushrooms. What are the implications for public health practice?Considering the potential huge risks for collecting and eating wild mushrooms,we strongly advise not collecting and eating unfamiliar wild mushrooms.Promoting knowledge about poisonous mushrooms is essential and urgent to reduce mushroom poisonings.Precise species identification timely after mushroom poisoning is important for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Many deaths were ascribed to delayed hospitalization.Haijiao Li Hongshun Zhang Yizhe Zhang Jing Zhou Yu Yin Qian He Shaofeng Jiang Peibin Ma Yutao Zhang Yuan Yuan Nan Lang Bowen Cheng Mei Wang Chengye Sun 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,3:7

Effects of parental empathy and emotion regulation on social competence and emotional/behavioral problems of school‐age children显示文摘Importance Parents take the lead in parent–child interactions and their emotion regulation ability and empathy during parenting may be associated with children’s emotional/behavioral problems. However, the specific mechanisms underlying these associations remain unclear. Objective The present study aimed to explore the effect of parental empathy and emotional regulation on social competence and emotional/behavioral problems in school‐age children. Methods A questionnaire‐based survey was conducted with 274 parents of 8–11‐year‐old children using Achenbach’s Child Behavior Checklist, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and the Questionnaire of Cognitive and Affective Empathy. Results Children with emotional/behavioral problems(n=37)had relatively lower social competence than children in a matched control group(n=37).Compared with the parents of children in the control group, parents of children with emotional/behavioral problems had significantly lower cognitive empathy scores, mainly manifested by low perspective‐taking and online simulation abilities.Mediation analysis showed that parental cognitive empathy had an indirect effect on children’s emotional/behavioral problems through children’s social competence.Interpretation Parental empathy may have a subtle influence on the social competence of school‐aged children, which further affects the severity of children’s emotional/behavioral problems.Kun Meng Yizhe Yuan Yali Wang Jianning Liang Lijun Wang Jianfei Shen Yanyu Wang 2020Pediatric Investigation2020,4,2:2
Pressure-induced photoluminescence enhancement and ambient retention in confined carbon dots显示文摘Piezochromic luminescent materials have shown great potential in advanced optoelectronic applications. However, most of luminescent materials usually undergo emission quenching under external stimuli.Herein,we demonstrate for the first time that the photoluminescence of carbon dots(CDs)confined within sodium hydroxide can be enhanced when high pressure is applied. They exhibit a 1.6-fold fluorescence enhancement compared with pristine CDs.Importantly, the enhanced fluorescence intensity can be retained after the release of pressure to ambient conditions.A combination of experimental analysis and theoretical simulations indicates that such an enhanced emission is mainly attributed to the strong confinement resulting from the sodium hydroxide matrix, which can separate the CDs spatially and restrict the nonradiative pathway. These results provide a rational strategy for manipulating the optical properties of CDs with enhanced and retainable photoluminescence(PL)performance, thus opening up a venue for designing luminescent CDs-based materials.Qing Lou Xigui Yang Kaikai Liu Zhongzheng Ding Jinxu Qin Yizhe Li Chaofan Lv Yuan Shang Yuewen Zhang Zhuangfei Zhang Jinhao Zang Lin Dong Chong-Xin Shan 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:1
