1Artificial intelligence in healthcare:past,present and future显示文摘Artificial intelligence(AI)aims to mimic human cognitive functions.It is bringing a paradigm shift to healthcare,powered by increasing availability of healthcare data and rapid progress of analytics techniques.We survey the current status of AI applications in healthcare and discuss its future.AI can be applied to various types of healthcare data(structured and unstructured).Popular AI techniques include machine learning methods for structured data,such as the classical support vector machine and neural network,and the modern deep learning,as well as natural language processing for unstructured data.Major disease areas that use AI tools include cancer,neurology and cardiology.We then review in more details the AI applications in stroke,in the three major areas of early detection and diagnosis,treatment,as well as outcome prediction and prognosis evaluation.We conclude with discussion about pioneer AI systems,such as IBM Watson,and hurdles for real-life deployment of AI.Fei Jiang Yong Jiang Hui Zhi Yi Dong Hao Li Sufeng Ma Yilong Wang Qiang Dong Haipeng Shen Yongjun Wang 2017Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,4:76
2Sol-gel preparation and characterization of Co_3O_4 nanocrystals显示文摘A new citrate acid-hydrazine sol-gel route for preparation of Co3O4 nanoparticles has been developed. Co3O4 nanoparticles with different particle-sizes and morphology were prepared at different heat-treatment temperatures and the pure cubic nanocrystals of Co3O4 were obtained at 600℃. The synthesis process was monitored by infrared spectroscopy (IR), thermal gravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). The structure and morphology of Co3O4 nanocrystals were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray-photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The infrared absorption bands blueshifted with particle size decreasing, which could be attributed to increasing surface effect. 3The calcium-dependent kinase OsCPK24 functions in cold stress responses in rice显示文摘Calcium-dependent protein kinases(CPKs)are serine/threonine protein kinases that function in plant stress responses. Although CPKs are recognized as key messengers in signal transduction, the specific roles of CPKs and the molecular mechanisms underlying their activity remain largely unknown. Here, we characterized the function of Os CPK_(24), a cytosol-localized calciumdependent protein kinase in rice. Os CPK_(24) was universally and highly expressed in rice plants and was induced by cold treatment. Whereas Os CPK_(24) knockdown plants exhibited increased sensitivity to cold compared to wild type(WT), Os CPK_(24)-overexpressing plants exhibited increased cold tolerance. Plants overexpressing Os CPK_(24) exhibited increased accumulation of proline(an osmoprotectant) and glutathione(an antioxidant) and maintained a higher GSH/GSSG(reduced glutathione to oxidized glutathione) ratio during cold stress compared to WT. In addition to these effects in response to cold stress, we observed the kinase activity of Os CPK_(24) varied under different calcium concentrations. Further,Os CPK_(24) phosphorylated Os Grx_(10), a glutathionedependent thioltransferase, at rates modulated by changes in calcium concentration. 5Emerging role of natural products in cancer immunotherapy显示文摘Cancer immunotherapy has become a new generation of anti-tumor treatment,but its indications still focus on several types of tumors that are sensitive to the immune system.Therefore,effective strategies that can expand its indications and enhance its efficiency become the key element for the further development of cancer immunotherapy.Natural products are reported to have this effect on cancer immunotherapy,including cancer vaccines,immune-check points inhibitors,and adoptive immune-cells therapy.And the mechanism of that is mainly attributed to the remodeling of the tumorimmunosuppressive microenvironment,which is the key factor that assists tumor to avoid the recognition and attack from immune system and cancer immunotherapy.Therefore,this review summarizes and concludes the natural products that reportedly improve cancer immunotherapy and investigates the mechanism.And we found that saponins,polysaccharides,and flavonoids are mainly three categories of natural products,which reflected significant effects combined with cancer immunotherapy through reversing the tumor-immunosuppressive microenvironment.Besides,this review also collected the studies about nano-technology used to improve the disadvantages of natural products.All of these studies showed the great potential of natural products in cancer immunotherapy.Songtao Dong Xiangnan Guo Fei Han Zhonggui He Yongjun Wang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,3:5

7Genome-wide association study of callus induction variation to explore the callus formation mechanism of rice显示文摘Rice(Oryza sativa) is one of the most widely cultivated food crops, worldwide. Tissue culture is extensively used in rice breeding and functional genome research. The ability to induce callus determines whether a particular rice variety can be subjected to tissue culture and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. Over the past two decades, many quantitative trait loci(QTLs)related to callus induction traits have been identified;however, individual genes associated with rice callus induction have not been reported. In this study, we characterized three callus-induction traits in a global collection of 510 rice accessions. A genome-wide association study of the rice population in its entirety as well as subpopulations revealed 21 significant loci located in rice callus induction QTLs. We identified three candidate callus induction genes, namely CRL1, Os BMM1, and Os SET1, which Rese are orthologs of Arabidopsis LBD17/LBD29, BBM, and SWN,respectively, which are known to affect callus formation.Furthermore, we predicted that 14 candidate genes might be involved in rice callus induction and showed that RNA interference(RNAi)-mediated disruption of Os IAA10 inhibited callus formation on tissue culture medium.Embryo growth in the Os IAA10 RNAi line was not inhibited by synthetic auxin(2,4-D) treatment, suggesting that Os IAA10 may perceive auxin and activate the expression of downstream genes, such as CRL1, to induce callus formation. 8Deterministic Approach to Achieve Full-Polarization Cloak显示文摘Achieving full-polarization(σ)invisibility on an arbitrary three-dimensional(3D)platform is a long-held knotty issue yet extremely promising in real-world stealth applications.However,state-of-the-art invisibility cloaks typically work under a specific polarization because the anisotropy and orientation-selective resonant nature of artificial materials made theσ-immune operation elusive and terribly challenging.Here,we report a deterministic approach to engineer a metasurface skin cloak working under an arbitrary polarization state by theoretically synergizing two cloaking phase patterns required,respectively,at spin-up(σ+)and spin-down(σ−)states.Therein,the wavefront of any light impinging on the cloak can be well preserved since it is a superposition ofσ+andσ−wave.To demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability,several proof-of-concept metasurface cloaks are designed to wrap over a 3D triangle platform at microwave frequency.Results show that our cloaks are essentially capable of restoring the amplitude and phase of reflected beams as if light was incident on a flat mirror or an arbitrarily predesigned shape under full polarization states with a desirable bandwidth of~17.9%,conceiving or deceiving an arbitrary object placed inside.Our approach,deterministic and robust in terms of accurate theoretical design,reconciles the milestone dilemma in stealth discipline and opens up an avenue for the extreme capability of ultrathin 3D cloaking of an arbitrary shape,paving up the road for real-world applications.He-Xiu Xu Yanzhao Wang Chaohui Wang Mingzhao Wang Shaojie Wang Fei Ding Yongjun Huang Xiaokuan Zhang Haiwen Liu Xiaohui Ling Wei Huang 2021Research2021,,1:5
9Development of a rapid and sensitivity magnetic chemiluminescence immunoassay for DNA methyltransferase 1 in human serum显示文摘DNA methyltransferase 1(DNMT1)is a useful biomarker for lung cancer in early clinical diagnosis.A rapid magnetic chemiluminescence immunoassay(MCLIA)for DNMT1 in human serum has been developed.Horseradish peroxidase(HRP)-second-Ab was used to labeled polyclonal antibodies of anti-DNMT1.DNMT1 in sample integrates with specific immunomagnetic beads and can constitute a supersandwiched immunoreaction.In magnetic field,nonspecific materials can be separated.After luminescent substrate luminol-H2O2-BIP was added,the relative light unit(RLU)of HRP was detected and was discovered to be directly proportional to the content of DNMT1 in sample.The correlative variables involved in the MCLIA value were optimized and the methodological evaluation was carried out.After optimization,in the range of0.5–128 ng/mL,the linear regression equation was y=0.5014 x+1.769(x was logCDNMT1,y was relative luminescence units(RLU)/RLU0),and the limit of detection was 0.01 ng/mL.The RSD of intra-and interassays were 15.8%–16.9%and 14.3%–18.1%,respectively.The recovery was from 70.0%to 106.2%.Furthermore,paralleled with purchasable enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)kits,MCLEIA had lower detection limit,wider linear range and shorter detection time.Therefore,the MCLEIA established in this study could be used for the sensitive detection of DNMT1 in serum sample.Sitian He Leiliang He Beibei Liu Songcheng Yu Li'e Liu Yongmei Tian Jia Wang Lihua Ding Yilin Wang Lingbo Qu Fei Yu Yongjun Wu 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,5:4
10Ambulatory blood pressure profile and stroke recurrence显示文摘Objectives To establish a new ambulatory blood pressure(ABP)parameter(24-hour ABP profile)and evaluated its performance on stroke outcome in ischaemic stroke(IS)or transient ischaemic attack(TIA)patients.Methods The prospective cohort consisted of 1996 IS/TIA patients enrolled for ABP monitoring and a 3-month follow-up for stroke recurrence as outcome.Profile groups of systolic blood pressure(SBP)were identified via an advanced functional clustering method,and the associations of the profile groups and conventional ABP parameters with stroke recurrence were examined in a Cox proportional hazards model.Results Three discrete profile groups(n=604,781 and 611 in profiles 1,2 and 3,respectively)in 24-hour ambulatory SBP were identified.Profile 1 resembled most to the normal diurnal blood pressure pattern;profile 2 also dropped at night,but climbed earlier and with higher morning surge;while profile 3 had sustained higher nocturnal SBP without significant nocturnal SBP decline.The incidence of stroke recurrence was 2.9%,3.9%and 5.5%in profiles 1,2 and 3,respectively.After adjustment for covariates,profile 3 was significantly associated with higher risk of stroke recurrence with profile 1 as reference(HR 1.76,95%CI:1.00 to 3.09),while no significant difference was observed between profiles 2 and 1(HR 1.22,95%CI:0.66 to 2.25).None of conventional ABP parameters showed significant associations with the outcome.Conclusions Ambulatory 24-hour SBP profile is associated with short-term stroke recurrence.Profiles of ABP may help improve identification of stroke recurrence by capturing the additive effects of individual ABP parameters.Jie Xu Fei Jiang Anxin Wang Hui Zhi Yuan Gao Junping Tian Jinglin Mo Zimo Chen An-Ding Xu Benyan Luo Bo Hu Yuqing Zhang Xingquan Zhao Yilong Wang Hao Li Haipeng Shen Yongjun Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3:3
11Effects of Piriformospora indica on the Respiration of Taxus chinensis var.mairei under Water Stress显示文摘Seedlings of Taxus chinensis var.mairei were used as experimental materials to study the adaptation of Piriformospora indica to this plant under water stress.The materials were divided into two groups,namely,with or without inoculation with P.indica.Each group was subjected to four different levels of water stress.Vitality and physiological and biochemical indexes of the roots of T.chinensis var.mairei were regularly measured.Under water stress,T.chinensis var.mairei had significantly decreased root vitality;root vitality was higher in inoculated roots than in uninoculated roots.Under intense water stress,the inoculated roots had a higher soluble sugar content than the uninoculated roots.Under water stress,T.chinensis var.mairei experienced decreased activity of aerobic respiratory metabolic enzymes.The activity of anaerobic respiratory metabolic enzymes and alcohol dehydrogenase initially increased and then decreased,whereas that of lactate dehydrogenase increased.The inoculated roots had a higher activity of respiratory metabolic enzymes than the uninoculated roots.As water stress was further intensified,the roots had significantly decreased activity of aerobic respiratory metabolic enzymes and significantly increased activity of anaerobic respiratory metabolic enzymes.The activity of respiratory metabolic enzymes decreased faster in the uninoculated roots than in the inoculated roots.This study demonstrated that Piriformospora indica plays a positive role in enhancing the antihypoxic ability of T.chinensis var.mairei,thereby alleviating plant damage due to water stress.Longsheng Hu Xinru He Pujie Wei Bing Sun Yongjun Fei Die Hu 2021Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,6:2

13Loss-of-function mutation of rice SLAC7 decreases chloroplast stability and induces a photoprotection mechanism in rice显示文摘Plants absorb sunlight to power the photochemical reactions of photosynthesis, which can potentially damage the photosynthetic machinery. However, the mechanism that protects chloroplasts from the damage remains unclear. In this work, we demonstrated that rice(Oryza sativa L.) SLAC7 is a generally expressed membrane protein. Lossof-function of SLAC7 caused continuous damage to the chloroplasts of mutant leaves under normal light conditions.Ion leakage indicators related to leaf damage such as H_2O_2 and abscisic acid levels were significantly higher in slac7-1 than in the wild type. Consistently, the photosynthesis ef ficiency and Fv/Fm ratio of slac7-1 were significantly decreased(similar to photoinhibition). In response to chloroplast damage, slac7-1 altered its leaf morphology(curled or fused leaf) by the synergy between plant hormones and transcriptional factors to decrease the absorption of light, suggesting that a photoprotection mechanism for chloroplast damage was activated in slac7-1. When grown in dark conditions, slac7-1 displayed a normal phenotype. SLAC7 under the control of the At SLAC1 promoter could partially complement the phenotypes of Arabidopsis slac1 mutants, indicating a partia conservation of SLAC protein functions. 15Preparation and characterization of Ni/Co bimetallic nano-clusters显示文摘Ni/Co bimetallic nano-cluters have been prepared from the aqueous solution by reducing their corresponding metal salts under suitable conditions. The experimental conditions including the type and concentration of protective agent, feeding order and the pH of the solution that influence the average particle size have been studied in detail. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)indicates that the shape of those bimetallic nano-cluster particles is spheroid. The alloy structure has been shown by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD).
