| 2 | Social impacts of the climatic shift around the turn of the 19th century on the North China Plain显示文摘Historical case studies of climate change impacts and the resulting social responses can provide analogies for better understanding the impacts of current and future climate changes.Around the turn of the 19th century,the climate of the North China Plain experienced a shift from a relatively warm stage in the 18th century to a colder stage in the 19th century,which was characterised by a much colder climate and more frequent and severe floods and droughts.Historical information about refugees,social disorder,grain transportation,and disaster relief on the North China Plain in 1780-1819 is collected from the Veritable Records of the Qing Dynasty(a collection of official records).The mechanism of climate change affecting the food security of the society,as indicated by the development of a refugee problem around the turn of the 19th century,is analyzed by examining the social vulnerability.There are four basic findings:(1) In the 40 years from 1780-1819,the society on the North China Plain was unstable and characterised by a significant deterioration of the refugee situation.The number of refugees increased markedly,and their behaviour became increasingly violent.In the 1780s,most of the disaster victims chose to stay at their residences waiting for relief.From 1790 to 1800,hundreds of thousands of refugees migrated to northeast China.In the 1810s,the frequency of farmer rebellions increased sharply.(2) The increase in instability corresponded to the climatic cooling over the same time period.The increased instability was a result of the negative impacts of climate change accumulating and transmitting to the social level.(3) For food security,a precondition for the negative impacts of climate change on human society was the vulnerability of the regional socioeconomic system,which had a high sensitivity and low capacity to respond.This vulnerability could be described by the following three observations:① The regional balance of supply and demand for food was in a critical state,which led to a high sensitivity and dramatic reduction in yield that was caused by climate change;② the capacity for disaster relief efforts by the government was too low to meet the needs of crisis management;③ the capacity for refugees' resettlement in eastern Inner Mongolia and northeast China,which both border the North China Plain,was severely restricted by climatic conditions or the quarantine policy.(4) It is estimated that climate change caused the social vulnerability to reach a critical level approximately 20 years earlier on the North China Plain. | FANG XiuQi XIAO LingBo WEI ZhuDeng | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,6: | 19 |

The molecular weight of AFP was 50 ku by SDS-PAGE measurement. The average thermal hysteresis activity (THA) of AFP was 0.35℃ at 5 mg/mL using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). | 7 | Synthesis and characterization of tungsten and barium co-doped La2Mo2O9 by sol-gel process for solid oxide fuel cells显示文摘Herein,we demonstrate the synthesis of W and Ba co-doped La2Mo2O9(LBMWO)nanocrystalline powder by a sol-gel process.In all the compositions have general formulae La1.9Ba0.1Mo2-xWxO8.95(x=0-0.40).The crystal structure,microstructure and conductivity of LBMWO were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and electrical impedance spectroscopy.In addition,the thermal and decomposition properties of the LBMWO gel were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry-thermogravimetric.The results reveal that all LBMWO powders calcined at 700℃have a cubic structure;the average crystallite size is about 48 nm.The unit cell parameter of LBMWO powders increases with increase in W content.The as-synthesized nanocrystalline LBMWO samples exhibit excellent sinterability and a relatively lower sintering temperature of 900℃.A high relative density of-96%is achieved after sintering at 900℃which is in good agreeme nt with the re sults of the SEM.Moreover,W and Ba codoping suppresses the phase transition and effectively stabilizes theβ-phase at low temperature.At the same time,La1.9Ba0.1Mo1.85W0.15O8.95 exhibits high ionic conductivity,3.07 x 10^-2 S/cm at 800℃.It is therefore concluded that co-doping can improve the properties of La2MO2O9 electrolytes. | Chang′an Tian Lingbo Shao Dongdong Ji Jie Yang Jinsong Xie Qiyi Yin Huirong Le | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,9: | 5 |

| 9 | Differential expression of immune-related genes between healthy volunteers and type 2 diabetic patients with spleen-deficiency pattern显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical differentiation of spleen-deficiency pattern(SDP), a group of symptoms and signs defined in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine for its clinical practice.METHODS: Peripheral venous blood(> 3 m L) was collected from each of six type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)-SDP patients and six healthy volunteers. After the isolation of peripheral white blood cells(PWBCs), total RNA was extracted, and quality control was performed on all RNA samples. Microarray experiments were conducted using the Agilent human whole genome gene chip, and genes demonstrating differential expression were screened. Bioinformatics analysis was conducted on these genes using several online databases.RESULTS: We screened a total of 175 differentially expressed genes(DEGs), of which 111(63%) were down-regulated and 64(37%) were up-regulated in T2DM-SDP patients compared with healthy controls. Among the 175 genes, 158 had biological function annotations: 46(29%) were directly related to an individual's immune regulation or response, 25(16%) were associated with substance and energy metabolism of PWBCs which could also indirectly influence immunity, and the remaining87(55%) were involved in a variety of PWBC biological processes that might eventually influence the immune function. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis revealed that the DEGs were predominantly enriched in seven immune-related pathways. Hierarchical cluster analysis identified gene expression patterns that were distinguishable between the two study groups.CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that T2DM-SDP patients experience significant hypoimmunity and/or immune dysfunctions, and possess a specific gene expression profile. | 12 | Study on the quantitative structureactivity relation-ship of C-10 substituted artemisinin(QHS)’s derivatives using rough set theory显示文摘The structure-activity relationship study of C-10 substituted artemisinin (QHS) derivatives that are used as antimalarial was performed with the RS (rough sets) method. An RS process is a concise nonlinear process, and it has broad application foreground in the data mining of nonlinear life courses. In this work, initially the parameters of C-10 substituted QHS’s derivatives were computed with the quantum chemistry method, and the information table was constructed from the parameters (condition attributes) and biological activity (decision attributes). Based on the analysis of rough set theory, the core and reduction of attributes sets were obtained. Then the decision rules were extracted and the struc-ture-activity relationship was analyzed. As a nonlinear system, RS theory can extract the special rela-tion in the database. | 17 | Recent advances of flexible perovskite solar cells显示文摘In few years only, the efficiency record of perovskite solar cells(PSCs) has raised quickly from 3.8% to over 22%. This emerging photovoltaic technology has primarily shown its great potential of industrialization. Flexible PSCs are thought to be one of the most priority options for mass production, related to the intrinsic advantage of perovskite thin films which could be deposited by facile solution processes at low temperature. Flexible PSCs have at least four advantages in comparison to the rigid counterpart:(1) it can generate higher power output at lighter weight,(2) it is easily portable,(3) it can be easily attached to architectures or textiles with diverse shapes, and(4) it is compatible with roll-to-roll fabrication in a large scale. In this review, we have summarized recent development of the key materials and technologies applied in flexible PSCs. The key materials including flexible substrates, transparent and conductive electrodes, and interfacial materials; some key technologies about roll-to-roll manufacture, encapsulation technology have been overviewed. | 19 | SciFinder-guided rational design of fluorescent carbon dots for ratiometric monitoring intracellular pH fluctuations under heat shock显示文摘Intracellular pH plays a significant role in various biological processes, including cell proliferation,apoptosis, metabolism, enzyme activity and homeostasis. In this work, a novel design strategy for the preparation of pH responsive carbon dots(CDs-pH) for ratiometric intracellular imaging was reported. By using SciFinder database, fluorescent CDs-pH with the required p Kavalue of 6.84 were rationally designed, which is vital important for precise sensing of intracellular pH. As a result, the synthesized CDspH demonstrated robust ability to test pH fluctuations within the physiological range of 5.4-7.4. The CDspH was further utilized for fluorescent ratiometric imaging of pH in living HeLa cells, effectively avoided the influence of autofluorescence from native cellular species. Moreover, real-time monitoring of intracellular pH fluctuation under heat shock was successfully realized. | 20 | Cobalt hollow nanospheres: controlled synthesis, modification and highly catalytic performance for hydrolysis of ammonia borane显示文摘Size tunable cobalt hollow nanospheres with high catalytic activity for the ammonia borane(AB) hydrolysis have been synthesized by using the solvothermal method. The complexation between Co2+and ethylenediamine is observed to be critical for the formation of the cobalt hollow nanospherical structure.The morphology of the cobalt hollow nanospheres can be regulated by adjusting the original ethylenediamine/ethanol volume ratio, reaction time and temperature. Impressively, the magnetic property study reveals that the coercivity of the as-synthesized cobalt hollow nanospheres is much enhanced compared with that of bulk cobalt materials. Meanwhile, Co/Pt bimetal hollow nanospheres(Co Pt HS) and graphene-cobalt hollow composite nanospheres(Co HS-r GO) have also been explored. In comparison with the cobalt hollow nanospheres, both the Co Pt HS and Co HS-r GO show higher catalytic activities and better repeatability for the catalytic hydrogen generation from AB hydrolysis.
