| 1 | Relationship between the imaging features and pathologic alteration in hepatoma of rats显示文摘AIM: The imaging features of MRI and DSA, using the modelsof implanted and induced hepatoma, were investigated in rats.METHODS: CBRH3 cancer cells were implanted for differentliver site of rat liver and the diethylnitrosoamine was givenorally to rats in order to induce liver cancer. Both experimentalgroups were detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and morphologic assay.RESULTS: Hypointensity on T1WI and homogenous highsignal intensity on T2WI in MRI, and ring-like abnormal stainon DSA were found in implanted cancer. Induced cancersappeared as homogeneous or heterogeneous hypointensityon T1WI (10 cases), and equal or slight high intensity onT2WI (8 cases), but some as hypointensity on T2WI (2 cases).CONCLUSION: The imaging features of implanted cancerswere similar to that of human liver metastases. Therefore, itcould serve as an experimental model of human liver metastatictumor. The imaging feature of induced cancers, whereas, weresimilar to that of human primary liver cancer. | 3 | A unified algorithm for mobility load balancing in 3GPP LTE multi-cell networks显示文摘3GPP long term evolution (LTE) is a promising candidate for the next-generation wireless network, which is expected to achieve high spectrum efficiency by using advanced physical layer techniques and flat network structures. However, the LTE network still faces the problem of load imbalance as in GSM/WCDMA networks, and this may cause significant deterioration of system performance. To deal with this problem, mobility load balancing (MLB) has been proposed as an important use case in 3GPP self-organizing network (SON), in which the serving cell of a user can be selected to achieve load balancing rather than act as the cell with the maximum received power. Furthermore, the LTE network aims to serve users with different quality-of-service (QoS) requirements, and the network-wide objective function for load balancing is distinct for different kinds of users. Thus, in this paper, a unified algorithm is proposed for MLB in the LTE network. The load balancing problem is first formulated as an optimization problem with the optimizing variables being cell-user connections. Then the complexity and overhead of the optimal solution is analyzed and a practical and distributed algorithm is given. After that, the proposed algorithm is evaluated for users with different kinds of QoS requirements, i.e., guaranteed bit rate (GBR) users with the objective function of load balance index and non-GBR (nGBR) users with the objective function of total utility, respectively. | 5 | Lifetime maximization routing with network coding in wireless multihop networks显示文摘In this paper, we consider the lifetime maximization routing with network coding in wireless mul- tihop networks. We first show that lifetime maximization with network coding is different from pure routing, throughput maximization with network coding and energy minimization with network coding. Then we formulate lifetime maximization problems in three different cases of (i) no network coding, (ii) two-way network coding, and (iii) overhearing network coding. To solve these problems, we use flow augmenting routing (FA) for the first case, and then extend the FA with network coding (FANC) by using energy minimized one-hop network coding. After that, we investigate the influence of parameters of FANC, evaluate the performance of FANC with two-way and overhearing network coding schemes and compare it with that without network coding under two different power control models, namely, protocol and physical ones. | 6 | Abnormal Effective Connectivity of the Anterior Forebrain Regions in Disorders of Consciousness显示文摘A number of studies have indicated that disorders of consciousness result from multifocal injuries as well as from the impaired functional and anatomical connectivity between various anterior forebrain regions.However, the specific causal mechanism linking these regions remains unclear. In this study, we used spectral dynamic causal modeling to assess how the effective connections(ECs) between various regions differ between individuals. Next, we used connectome-based predictive modeling to evaluate the performance of the ECs in predicting the clinical scores of DOC patients. We found increased ECs from the striatum to the globus pallidus as well as from the globus pallidus to the posterior cingulate cortex, and decreased ECs from the globus pallidus to the thalamus and from the medial prefrontal cortex to the striatum in DOC patients as compared to healthy controls.Prediction of the patients' outcome was effective using the negative ECs as features. In summary, the present study highlights a key role of the thalamo-basal ganglia-cortical loop in DOCs and supports the anterior forebrain mesocircuit hypothesis. | 7 | PI3-K/PKB/NF-κB and p42/44 MAPK pathway mediates inhibition of lipoxin A_4 on CTGF-induced production of RANTES in mesangial cells显示文摘In order to investigate the regulatory role of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) on production of RANTES (regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted) in rat glomerular mesangial cells, and the modulatory effect of lipoxin A4(LXA4) on action of CTGF, and to explore the mechanisms of action of CTGF and LXA4, cultured rat mesangial cells were treated with CTGF, with or without preincubation with LXA4. Expression of mRNA was analyzed by RT-PCR. Protein of RANTES in the supernatants was determined by ELISA. Monocyte transmigration was assessed by in vitro chemotaxis assay. Expression of p42/44 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3-K) and protein kinase B (PKB) was assessed by Western blotting. DNA-binding activity of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) was determined by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA). To observe whether transfection of LXA4 receptor homologue gene (LRHG) into mesangial cells intensified these modulatory effects of LXA4, mesangial cells were transfected with pcDNA3.1/LRHG vector. The results showed that CTGF enhanced the mRNA expression and protein release of RANTES, and the expression of phospho (P)-p42/44 MAPK, P-PI3-K, P-PKB and NF-κB. P-p42/44 MAPK blockade inhibited the CTGF-induced expression of P-p42/44 MAPK and partially decreased the level of RANTES in supernatants. P-PI3-K blockade downregulated the CTGF-stimulated expression of P-PI3-K, P-PKB and NF-κB, and partially decreased the release of RANTES. NF-κB blockade abrogated the CTGF-activated NF-κB and partially decreased the secretion of RANTES. LXA4 dose-dependently inhibited the CTGF-stimulated above action. Transfection of LRHG into mesangial cells intensified these inhibitory effects of LXA4 on CTGF-induced release of RANTES and expression of the P-p42/44 MAPK. | 9 | Three novel opportunistic scheduling algorithms in CoMP-CSB scenario显示文摘Coordinated scheduling/beamforming(CSB),which belongs to the coordinated multi-point(CoMP) transmission,has received lots of attention recently due to its great potential to mitigate inter-cell interference(ICI) and to increase the cell-edge throughput,and meanwhile it only requires limited base station cooperation and is easy to implement.However,to the best of our knowledge,there are no effective scheduling algorithms with low complexity and overhead in CoMP-CSB scenario as yet.Thus,in this paper,we propose three novel opportunistic scheduling algorithms in CoMP-CSB scenario.All of them jointly consider the intended channel condition of the scheduled user from its serving cell and the orthogonality between the intended channel and the corresponding interference channels to concurrently scheduled users in nearby cells,thus exploiting multi-user diversity(MUD) and mitigating ICI at the same time.Algorithm 1 cooperatively chooses the most orthogonal user pair within a candidate user set in which all users have a large local channel feedback,while Algorithm 2 concurrently schedules the user pair with the largest ratio between the local channel feedbacks and the aforementioned orthogonality within the same candidate user set.Algorithm 3 performs in the way similar to the proportional fairness scheduling,while making a proper modification for its usage in CoMP-CSB scenario.The performance of the proposed scheduling algorithms are evaluated through simulation.Results show that,they all can significantly enhance the received signal to interference plus noise ratio(SINR) with relatively good fairness guarantee,thus achieving larger throughputs and utilities than several well-known scheduling algorithms.Algorithm 2 even outperforms Algorithm 1 when the aforementioned candidate user set is big enough in size and has a bit more overhead/complexity.Furthermore,Algorithms 3 is the best one among all the three proposed algorithms,but it requires more overhead/complexity than Algorithm 1 and 2.Finally,we give the optimal parameter for all of the three proposed algorithms,which can make a good tradeoff between performance and overhead/complexity. | WANG Hao LIU Nan WU Ping PAN ZhiWen YOU XiaoHu | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,8: | 2 |

| 11 | Assessing the genetic diversity of the critically endangered Chinese sturgeon Acipenser sinensis using mitochondrial markers and genome-wide single-nucleotide polymorphisms from RAD-seq显示文摘As a living fossil, the endangered Chinese sturgeon(Acipenser sinensis) has been considered a national treasure in China. Here,the famous Gezhouba Dam and Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River were built in 1988 and 2006, for economic purposes.The natural population of Chinese sturgeon has declined since then, as these dams block its migratory route to the original spawning grounds in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. In 2013 and 2014, there was an absence of spawning where it typically happened near the Gezhouba Dam. Nevertheless, from April to June in 2015, over 1,000 larvae with different body lengths(10–35 cm) were detected along the Shanghai Yangtze Estuary; but only little is currently known about the population genetic structure of the Chinese sturgeon. Herein, we inferred population genetic parameters from 462 available Chinese sturgeon specimens based on a 421-bp fragment of the mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA) D-loop region and 1,481,620 SNPs(singlenucleotide polymorphisms) generated by restriction site-associated DNA sequencing(RAD-seq). For the D-loop dataset, 15 haplotypes were determined. Randomly picked 23 individuals, representing the 15 D-loop haplotype groups, were subsequently used for further RAD-seq validation. The average nucleotide diversity calculated from the mtDNA and RAD datasets was 0.0086 and 0.000478, respectively. The overall effective female population size was calculated to be 1,255 to 2,607, and the long-term effective population size was estimated to range from 11,950 to 119,500. We observed that the genetic variability and the effective female population size of the current population in the Yangtze River are severely low, which are similar to the data reported over 10 years ago.
