1Bacteriophage therapy against Enterobacteriaceae显示文摘The Enterobacteriaceae are a class of gram-negative facultative anaerobic rods, which can cause a variety of diseases, such as bacteremia, septic arthritis, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections and ophthalmic infections, in humans, poultry, animals and fish. Disease caused by Enterobacteriaceae cause the deaths of millions of people every year, resulting in enormous economic loss. Drug treatment is a useful and efficient way to control Enterobacteriaceae infections. However, with the abuse of antibiotics, drug resistance has been found in growing number of Enterobacteriaceae infections and, as such, there is an urgent need to find new methods of control. Bacteriophage therapy is an efficient alternative to antibiotics as it employs a different antibacterial mechanism. 3Correlation between muscular strength and basal nuclei ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke-induced corticospinal tract injury,as detected by diffusion tensor imaging and tractography显示文摘BACKGROUND:Conventional neuroimaging diagnosis does not assist with the monitoring or evaluation of basal nuclei ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke,or motor functional recovery.Magnetic resonance,diffusion tensor imaging,and diffusion tensor tractography have all been used to observe features of cerebral white matter fibrous structures.In addition,diffusion tensor tractography is the only non-invasive imaging method to display the corticospinal tract in vivo.OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the impairment degree of corticospinal tract induced by basal nuclei ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke through the use of magnetic resonance,diffusion tensor imaging,and diffusion tensor tractography,and to analyze the correlation to muscular strength.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A retrospective case analysis was performed at the Department of Medical Imaging,Neurology and Neurosurgery,Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Area Command of Chinese PLA between November 2002 and June 2008.PARTICIPANTS:A total of 15 patients with acute or subacute cerebral ischemic stroke and nine with hemorrhagic stroke in the basal nuclei were selected.METHODS:Magnetic resonance,diffusion tensor imaging,and diffusion tensor tractography results and data were analyzed.Fractional anisotropy and directionally encoded color maps were obtained.Three-dimensional tractography of bilateral corticospinal tract was created,and corticospinal tract integrity was graded.Fractional anisotropy of infarct region and corresponding contralateral normal regions were measured,and hematoma volume in hemorrhagic stroke patients was determined.Hand motor function ability was evaluated using Brunstorm criteria.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Fractional anisotropy of infarct region and corresponding contralateral normal regions;hematoma volume in hemorrhagic stroke patients;correlation between muscular strength and corticospinal tract impairment degree in ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke patients before and after treatment.RESULTS:In ischemic stroke patients,the fractional anisotropy value was significantly lower in the infarct area of white matter than in the normal hemisphere(P < 0.01).The impairment degree of corticospinal tract negatively correlated with muscular strength of the corresponding hand(r =-0.97 P < 0.01).The hematoma volume of hemorrhagic stroke patients significantly negatively correlated with Spearman test results for muscular strength of the corresponding hand(r =-0.88,P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:Corticospinal tract impairment severity negatively correlated with muscular strength and motor functional recovery,which suggested that diffusion tensor imaging and diffusion tensor tractography could be used to evaluate corticospinal tract motor function.Shangwen Xu Ziqian Chen Jinhua Chen Youqiang Ye Yuning Lin Ping Ni Hui Xiao Gennian Qian 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,13:7
4Evaluating ischemic stroke with diffusion tensor imaging显示文摘Objective:In recent years,diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has emerged as a promising tool to study ischemic stroke. The aim of this study is to evaluate the anisotropic changes of cerebral white matter tracks in patients with ischemic stroke using DTI,and investigate the correlation between corticospinal tract damage and muscle strength in such patients during acute ischemia.Method:9 patients with acute ischemic stroke and 9 healthy subjects were examined with T1 weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),T2 weighted MRI and DTI. Fractional anisotropy (FA) was measured and the three-dimensional fibrous band images of bilateral corticospinal tracts were reconstructed. The muscle strength of the affected hand was assessed by Brunnstorm standard[1],which is an internationally recognized measure of movement in hemiplegic patients.Results:①In the control group,there was no significant difference in FA between the bilateral corticospinal tracts,but FA in different white matter structure of the same side was significantly different (t=3.12,P < 0.05). FA of posterior limb of internal capsule was higher than that of knee and anterior limb of internal capsule,FA of anterior limb of internal capsule was the lowest. while in the patient group,FA of the infarcted sites was significantly lower than the contralateral ones (t=5.570,P < 0.01). ②The ipsilateral corticospinal tract demonstrated continuous interruption and the loss of consistent anatomic structure. The involved severity of corticospinal tract had significant correlation with that of muscle strength of the ipsilateral hand (r=0.83,P < 0.01).Conclusion:This study shows that DTI can be used to investigate ischemic stroke and assess ischemic stroke-induced damage. 5Synthesis of Mesoporous Anatase TiO2 Sphere with High Surface Area and Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity显示文摘Mesoporous anatase TiO_2 spheres with high surface area(119 m^2g^(-1)) were successfully synthesized via a facile and green template-free method. The prepared TiO_2 was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),N_2 adsorption, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and UV–vis absorbance spectra. It was found that the prepared TiO_2 is characterized by pure anatase phase, which shows uniform spheres and has a typical mesostructure with a high specific surface area and a large pore volume. The effects of complexant(acetylacetone) amount, crystallization temperature and calcination temperature were also investigated. Based on the results, a sketch for the preparation of mesoporous TiO_2 was proposed. First, complex formed between tetrabutyl titanate and acetylacetone in ethanol. After introduction of aqueous of ammonia sulfate and urea, hydrolysis of tetrabutyl titanate would occur slowly,and sol of TiO_2 was formed. Then, crystallization proceeded under hydrothermal conditions. Calcination process favored the formation of bigger TiO_2 crystal through combining of the small crystals in TiO_2.This led to the formation of bigger mesopores between TiO_2 crystals. 6Characters of MR diffusion tensor imaging in cerebral ischemic corticospinal tract injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is one of the noninvasive methods to study the morphological structure of brain white matter fibrous bands in vivo, and it has been applied primarily in clinic. DTI is acknowledged as the more effective imaging method to diagnose ultra-acute and/or acute cerebral infarction. OBJECTIVE: To observe the anisotropic characters of cerebral white matter fibrous bands in patients with ischemic stroke by using DTI, and investigate the correlation between the damage of corticospinal tract and muscle strength in patients with ischemic stroke at acute period. DESIGN: A case-control observation. SETTING: Department of Medical Imaging, Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Area Command of Chinese PLA. PARTICIPANTS: Nine inpatients with injury of motor function induced by acute ischemic stroke (patient group) at 6 hours to 2 weeks after the attack were selected from the Department of Neurology, Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Area Command of Chinese PLA from September 2005 to March 2006, and they all accorded with the present diagnostic standard for cerebrovascular disease in China. There were 5 males and 4 females, aged 16-87 years. At the same time, nine healthy right-handed physical examinees matched by age and sex with the patients were taken as the control group, and they all had no nervous disease, mental diseases, cerebrovascular abnormalities and injury history, etc. All the subjects were informed with the detected items and agreed to participate in the study. METHODS: All the 9 patients with ischemic stroke at acute period and 9 healthy subjects were examined with MRI, T1 weighted imaging, T2 weighted imaging and DTI. And the data were processed offline with dTV.II software, the images of fractional anisotropy and directional encoded color (DEC) were obtained, and the three-dimensional fibrous band images of bilateral corticospinal tracts were reconstructed. In the control group, the values of fractional anisotropy of main white matter fibrous bands were measured in the region of interest (ROI) of the anterior limb, knee and posterior limb of internal capsule. In the patient group, the values of fractional anisotropy of white matter were measured in the infarcted sites and corresponding contralateral sites of the patients. The ROI was set in bilateral cerebral peduncles to reconstruct three-dimensionally the bilateral corticospinal tracts. The muscle strength of the affected hand was assessed with Brunnstorm standard in the stroke patients. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The characters of DTI and images of the value of fractional anisotropy, and the manifestations of three-dimensional corticospinal tracts were observed in the two groups. RESULTS: All the data from the 9 patients and 9 healthy volunteers were involved in the analysis of results. ① In the control group, the white matter and gray matter could be distinguished clearly in the image of fractional anisotropic values, the fibers of different directions were shown by different colors in DEC picture, which clearly demonstrated the normal anatomic structure and direction of white matter fibers. In the patient group, the infarctions occurred in the gray matter or white matter could be distinguished in the images of fractional anisotropic values, DEC picture could clearly show the direct influence of the infarcted site on the white matter fibers. The fractional anisotropic values in different white matter structure of the same side were significantly different in the control group (t=3.12, P < 0.05), and the reconstructed images fractional anisotropic values and DEC picture could show most of the main white matter fibrous bands. The fractional anisotropic values of the infarcted sites were significantly lower than the contralateral ones in the patient group (t=5.570, P < 0.01). ② The reconstructed bilateral corticospinal tracts showed that the anatomic forms of the contralateral corticospinal tract of the patients were almost identical to those of normal people, it started from precentral gyrus, downward to the nternal capsule, and extended to pontine and medulla oblongata, each fibrous band was continuous, and the form had good consistency. Because of the involvement of infarction of different severity, the ipsilateral corticospinal tract manifested as continuous interruption and the loss of consistent anatomic structural form. The involved severity of corticospinal tract had significant correlation with that of muscle strength of the ipsilateral hand (r=1.30, P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: ① DTI can display the direction and distribution of cerebral white matter fibrous bands. ② DTI images of fractional anisotropic values and DEC can show the directions and anisotropic degree of white matter fibers in the infarcted sites of stroke patients. ③ The three-dimensional images of fibrous bands can show the conditions of pyramidal tracts more directly. ④ The damaged severity of corticospinal tracts is correlated with that of muscle strength.Ziqian Chen Ping Ni Hui Xiao Youqiang Ye Gennian Qian Shangwen Xu Xizhang Yang Jinhua Chen Biyun zhang 2006Neural Regeneration Research2006,1,2:3
7Genetic expression in progeny of transgenic plants obtained by using pollen-tube pathway (or delivery) method and approach to the transformation mechanism显示文摘The origin and the recent progress of pollen_tube pathway method (PTPM) is described. The results of transforming wheat during 1990 to 1994 are reported briefly. They are: (ⅰ) Transformation frequencies were 3%-6%, even reached 13.5%; (ⅱ) the genetic expression of four continuous generations obtained from single individuals of transgenic plants by self_fertilization was investigated. Plants with higher expression of foreign gene were found in every generation (from T1 to T4), but a phenomenon of gene silence, in which the genotype contained foreign gene but did not express, was also observed. In addition, from the angle of fertilization biology the transformation mechanism of PTPM (or PTDM) was analyzed and discussed. 9Electromyographic evaluation of functional electrical stimulation to injured oculomotor nerve显示文摘Functional electrical stimulation delivered early after injury to the proximal nerve stump has been proposed as a therapeutic approach for enhancing the speed and specificity of axonal regeneration following nerve injury. In this study, the injured oculomotor nerve was stimulated functionally by an implantable electrode. Electromyographic monitoring of the motor unit potential of the inferior oblique muscle was conducted for 12 weeks in two injury groups, one with and one without electric stimulation. The results revealed that, at 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks after functional electric stimulation of the injured oculomotor nerve, motor unit potentials significantly increased, such that amplitude was longer and spike duration gradually shortened. These findings indicate that the injured oculomotor nerve has the potential for regeneration and repair, but this ability is not sufficient for full functional recovery to occur. 10Changes in brain function and anatomical structure following treatment of hyperbaric oxygen for visual pathway abnormalities in 16 cases Evaluation of functional magnetic resonance imaging combined with diffusion tensor imaging显示文摘BACKGROUND: There is a growing research focus on the combination of blood oxygenation level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to evaluate visual cortical function and structural changes in the cerebrum,as well as morphological changes to the white matter fiber tracks,after visual pathway lesions. However,the combined application of BOLD-fMRI and DTI in treating of visual pathway abnormalities still requires further studies. OBJECTIVE: To observe and evaluate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen on visual pathway abnormalities,and to evaluate the characteristics of cerebral function and anatomic structural changes by using BOLD-fMRI combined with DTI technique. DESIGN: Case contrast observation. SETTING: Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Area Command of Chinese PLA. PARTICIPANTS: Sixteen patients (9 males and 7 females,15-77 years old) with lateral or bilateral visual disorder induced by visual pathway lesions were selected from the Department of Neurology,Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Area Command of Chinese PLA from January 2006 to May 2007. These patients comprised the lesion group. Measures of interventional therapy: hyperbaric oxygen of two normal atmospheres for three courses (10 d/course) and routine internal medicine treatment. In addition,12 healthy subjects of similar sex and age to the lesion group were regarded as the control group. The control group underwent routine ophthalmological and ocular fundus examinations; diagnostic results were normal. The experiment received confirmed consent from the local ethic committee,and all patients provided informed consent. METHODS: BOLD-fMRI and DTI manifestations in the lesion group were observed before and after hyperbaric oxygen intervention,and the results were compared with the control group. The subjects were positioned on their back,and BOLD-fMRI images were collected with the following GRE EPI sequence: TR = 2 000 ms,TE = 40 ms,layer thickness = 5 mm,and 20-layer successive scanning to cover the whole brain. While,DTI images were collected with SE EPI sequence of single excitation: TR=10 000 ms,TE = 112 ms,layer thickness = 4 mm,layer spacing = 0.5 mm,and a 30-layer successive scanning,matrix = 128×128. A diffusion gradient was applied at 13 directions,and one layer without diffusion weighted imaging was collected at b =1 000 s/mm2. Numbers of activated voxels in cortical-activated regions,and fractional anisotropy in bilateral cerebral optical radiation regions,were calculated. Displacement,continuity,and destruction of fibrous tracts were analyzed. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Results of BOLD-fMRI and DTI examinations. RESULTS: All 16 patients and 12 controls were included in the final analysis. ① Numbers of activated voxels through the use of BOLD-fMRI: prior to hyperbaric oxygen therapy,the number of activated voxels in the bilateral cortex of occipital lobe were significantly less in the lesion group than in the control group (t =3.23,P < 0.01). In addition,the number of activated voxels significantly increased after treatment compared to before treatment (t = 2.46,P < 0.05). ② Fractional anisotropy in optical radiation regions of bilateral cerebrum: fractional anisotropy in the lesion group was significantly less than the control group (t =2.89,P < 0.05). In addition,fractional anisotropy after treatment was significantly higher than before treatment (t = 2.48,P < 0.05). Moreover,fractional anisotropy of optical neuropathy was significantly higher in 6 patients in the lesion group than the occipital lobe optical central lesion (t = 2.35,P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: BOLD-fMRI combined with DTI can indicate the occurrence,development,and therapeutic course of action for optical pathway lesions. 12The Potassium Transporter AtKUP12 Enhances Tolerance to Salt Stress through the Maintenance of the K^(+)/Na^(+)Ratio in Arabidopsis显示文摘Potassium(K^(+))is a necessary nutrient for plant growth and crop production.The K^(+)transporter plays crucial roles in the absorption and transport of K^(+)in plants.Most K^(+)transporters in Arabidopsis have been reported,but AtKUP12,which is a member of the KT/KUP/HAK family,has not yet been the subject of relevant in-depth research.In the present study,we demonstrated that AtKUP12 plays a crucial role in K^(+)uptake in Arabidopsis under 100μM low-K^(+)and 125 mM salt stress conditions.AtKUP12 transcripts were induced by K^(+)deficiency and salt stress.We analyzed the K^(+)uptake of AtKUP12 using the K^(+)uptake-deficient yeast R5421 and Arabidopsis mutant atkup12.Transformation with AtKUP12 rescued the growth defect of mutant yeast and atkup12 mutant plants at the low-K^(+)concentration,which suggested that AtKUP12 might be involved in high-affinity K^(+)uptake in low-K^(+)environments.In comparison to the wild-type(WT)and atkup12-AtKUP12 complementation lines,atkup12 showed a dramatic reduction in potassium concentration,K^(+)/Na^(+)ratio,and root and shoot growth on 12-day-old seedlings under the salt conditions;however,there was no significant difference between the complementation and WT lines.Taken together,these results demonstrate that AtKUP12 might participate in salt tolerance in Arabidopsis through K^(+)uptake and K^(+)/Na^(+)homeostasis.Hua Zhang Zhongmin Yang Xilong You Youqiang Heng Yan Wang 2021Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,2:2

15The distribution characteristics of clay minerals in the northern South China Sea显示文摘The clay minearals are composed of illite, chlorite, kaolinite, montmorillonite and mixed-layer minerals in the submarine sediments of the northern South China Sea. Three types of clay mineral zone can be recognized on the basis of the distributive regularity of clay minerals, submarine relief, hydrodynamic conditions and depositional characteristics in this region. Apart from the northern mainland source, kaolinites carried from the Philippines volcanic arc in the east and Malaysia in the south are also assumed to be one of the sources of the clay minerals in the deep sea. The increase of chlorites to the abyssal direction in the west of 116° E might be associated with the residual chlorites carried from the ancient Zhujiang River during the glacial period and the conversion of kaolinite into chlorite submarine volcanoes appear to be one of the sources of the increment of montmorillonite and chlorite around the Huangyan Island. 16A high-quality genome provides insights into the new taxonomic status and genomic characteristics of Cladopus chinensis(Podostemaceae)显示文摘The Podostemaceae are ecologically and morphologically unusual aquatic angiosperms that survive only in rivers with pristine hydrology and high water quality and are at a relatively high risk of extinction.The taxonomic status of Podostemaceae has always been controversial.Here,we report the first high-quality genome assembly for Cladopus chinensis of Podostemaceae,obtained by incorporating Hi-C,Illumina and PacBio sequencing.We generated an 827.92 Mb genome with a contig N50 of 1.42 Mb and 27,370 annotated protein-coding genes.The assembled genome size was close to the estimated size,and 659.42 Mb of the assembly was assigned to 29 superscaffolds(scaffold N5021.22 Mb).A total of 59.20%repetitive sequences were identified,among which long terminal repeats(LTRs)were the most abundant class(28.97%of the genome).Genome evolution analysis suggested that the divergence time of Cladopus chinensis(106 Mya)was earlier than that of Malpighiales(82 Mya)and that this taxon diverged into an independent branch of Podestemales.A recent whole-genome duplication(WGD)event occurred 4.43 million years ago.Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the expansion and contraction of oxidative phosphorylation,photosynthesis and isoflavonoid metabolism genes in Cladopus chinensis are probably related to the genomic characteristics of this growing submerged species.Transcriptome analysis revealed that upregulated genes in the shoot group compared to the root group were enriched in the NAC gene family and transcription factors associated with shoot development and defense responses,including WUSCHEL(WUS),ASYMMETRIC LEAVES(ASL),SHOOT MERISTEMLESS(STM),NAC2,NAC8,NAC29,NAC47,NAC73,NAC83 and NAC102.These findings provide new insights into the genomic diversity of unusual aquatic angiosperms and serve as a valuable reference for the taxonomic status and unusual shoot apical meristem of Podostemaceae.Ting Xue Xuehai Zheng Duo Chen Limin Liang Nan Chen Zhen Huang Wenfang Fan Jiannan Chen Wan Cen Shuai Chen Jinmao Zhu Binghua Chen Xingtan Zhang Youqiang Chen 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:1
17Seismic evidence for the existence of an entrained mantle flow coupling the northward advancing Indian plate under Tibet显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau, known as 'the roof of the world' and 'the third pole of the earth', is a product of the collision between India and Asia during the last ~50 Ma.The regional tectonics–in particular, growth and expansion of the plateau–has been attributed primarily to deformation within the lithosphere.The role and pattern of the underlying asthenospheric flow, however, remain mostly unaddressed.In light of recent seismic tomographic images and published seismic anisotropic descriptions of the upper mantle, here we propose that an entrained mantle flow is likely to exist under Tibet, induced by the northward advancing Indian plate.The direction of mantle flow is characterized by a gradual rotation from northward in the south to eastward in the north as a result of deflection by the deep root of the Tarim block.The presence of an underlying mantle flow is not only able to account for the west-east oriented fast-axis of seismic anisotropy in northern Tibet, but can also adequately explain the sporadic null splitting in southern Tibet.Specifically, the null splitting results, at least in part, from upwellings of asthenospheric flow through tears of the underthrusting Indian plate that have been revealed by various seismic observations.The mantle flow may in turn promote the block extrusion under Tibet that has been observed in GPS measurements; hot asthenospheric upwellings may also lead to widespread post-collisional magmatism in southern Tibet.Yu Zou XiaoBo Tian YouQiang Yu Fa-Bin Pan LingLing Wang XiaoBo He 2019Earth and Planetary Physics2019,3,1:1

But little specification about evaluation system for its distress condition has been researched and maintenance was still unsystematic. The section weight coefficient of different distress is proposed by analyzing the applicability of the “Highway Performance Assessment Standards”. Indexes mainly including SDPCI PDR and PCR are presented to evaluate its distress condition.
