| 1 | Erythrocyte membrane-camouflaged carrier-free nanoassembly of FRET photosensitizer pairs with high therapeutic efficiency and high security for programmed cancer synergistic phototherapy显示文摘Phototherapy has been intensively investigated as a non-invasive cancer treatment option.However,its clinical translation is still impeded by unsatisfactory therapeutic efficacy and severe phototoxicity.To achieve high therapeutic efficiency and high security,a nanoassembly of Forster Resonance Energy Transfer(FRET)photosensitizer pairs is developed on basis of dual-mode photosensitizer co-loading and photocaging strategy.For proof-of-concept,an erythrocyte-camouflaged FRET pair co-assembly of chlorine e6(Ce6,FRET donor)and 1,1′-dioctadecyl-3,3,3′,3′-tetramethylindotricarbocyanine iodide(DiR,FRET acceptor)is investigated for breast cancer treatment.Notably,Ce6 in the nanoassemby is quenched by DiR and could be unlocked for photodynamic therapy(PDT)only when DiR is photobleached by 808-nm laser.As a result,Ce6-caused phototoxicity could be well controlled.Under cascaded laser irradiation(808-660 nm),tumor-localizing temperature rise following laser irradiation on DiR not only induces tumor cell apoptosis but also facilitates the tumor penetration of NPs,relieves tumor hypoxia,and promotes the PDT efficacy of Ce6.Such FRET pair-based nanoassembly provides a new strategy for developing multimodal phototherapy nanomedicines with high efficiency and good security. | Xuanbo Zhang Jianchen Xiong Kaiyuan Wang Han Yu Bingjun Sun Hao Ye Zhiqiang Zhao Ning Wang Yuequan Wang Shenwu Zhang Wutong Zhao Haotian Zhang Zhonggui He Cong Luo Jin Sun | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,8: | 4 |
| 2 | Friction-Induced Nanofabrication: A Review显示文摘As the bridge between basic principles and applications of nanotechnology,nanofabrication methods play significant role in supporting the development of nanoscale science and engineering,which is changing and improving the production and lifestyle of the human.Photo lithography and other alternative technologies,such as nanoimprinting,electron beam lithography,focused ion beam cutting,and scanning probe lithography,have brought great progress of semiconductor industry,IC manufacturing and micro/nanoelectromechanical system(MEMS/NEMS)devices.However,there remains a lot of challenges,relating to the resolution,cost,speed,and so on,in realizing high-quality products with further development of nanotechnology.None of the existing techniques can satisfy all the needs in nanoscience and nanotechnology at the same time,and it is essential to explore new nanofabrication methods.As a newly developed scanning probe microscope(SPM)-based lithography,friction-induced nanofabrication provides opportunities for maskless,flexible,low-damage,low-cost and environment-friendly processing on a wide variety of materials,including silicon,quartz,glass surfaces,and so on.It has been proved that this fabrication route provides with a broad application prospect in the fabrication of nanoimprint templates,microfluidic devices,and micro/nano optical structures.This paper hereby involved the principals and operations of friction-induced nanofabrication,including friction-induced selective etching,and the applications were reviewed as well for looking ahead at opportunities and challenges with nanotechnology development.The present review will not only enrich the knowledge in nanotribology,but also plays a positive role in promoting SPM-based nanofabrication. | Bingjun Yu Linmao Qian | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,2: | 3 |
| 3 | Pure photosensitizer-driven nanoassembly with core-matched PEGylation for imaging-guided photodynamic therapy显示文摘Pure drug-assembled nanomedicines(PDANs)are currently under intensive investigation as promising nanoplatforms for cancer therapy.However,poor colloidal stability and less tumor-homing ability remain critical unresolved problems that impede their clinical translation.Herein,we report a core-matched nanoassembly of pyropheophorbide a(PPa)for photodynamic therapy(PDT).Pure PPa molecules are found to self-assemble into nanoparticles(NPs),and an amphiphilic PEG polymer(PPaPEG_(2K))is utilized to achieve core-matched PEGylating modification via the p-p stacking effect and hydrophobic interaction between the PPa core and the PPa-PEG_(2K) shell.Compared to PCL-PEG_(2K) with similar molecular weight,PPa-PEG_(2K) significantly increases the stability,prolongs the systemic circulation and improves the tumor-homing ability and ROS generation efficiency of PPa-nanoassembly.As a result,PPa/PPa-PEG_(2K) NPs exert potent antitumor activity in a 4T1 breast tumor-bearing BALB/c mouse xenograft model.Together,such a core-matched nanoassembly of pure photosensitizer provides a new strategy for the development of imaging-guided theragnostic nanomedicines. | Shenwu Zhang Yuequan Wang Zhiqiang Kong Xuanbo Zhang Bingjun Sun Han Yu Qin Chen Cong Luo Jin Sun Zhonggui He | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11: | 3 |

| 6 | Conspicuous cruciform silk decorations deflect avian predator attacks显示文摘Although camouflage as an effective antipredator defense strategy is widespread across animals,highly conspicuous color patterning is not uncommon either.Many orb-web spiders adorn their webs with extra bright white silk.These conspicuous decorations are hypothesized to deter predators by warning the presence of sticky webs,camouflaging spiders,acting as a decoy,or intimidating predators by their apparent size.The decorations may also deflect predator attacks from spiders.However,empirical evidence for this deflection function remains limited.Here,we tested this hypothesis using the X-shaped silk cruciform decorations built by females of Argiope minuta.We employed visual modeling to quantify the conspicuousness of spiders and decorations from a perspective of avian predators.Then,we determined actual predation risk on spiders using naïve chicks as predators.Spider bodies and decorations were conspicuous against natural backgrounds to the avian visual systems.Chicks attacked the spider main bodies significantly less frequently on the decorated webs than on the undecorated webs,thus reducing predation risk.When both spiders and decorations were present,chicks also attacked the spider main bodies and their legs or decorations,and not randomly:they attacked the legs or decorations sooner and more frequently than they attacked the main bodies,independent of the ratio of the surface area between the decoration and spider size.Despite the increase in detectability,incorporating a conspicuous cruciform decoration to the web effectively defends the spider by diverting the attack toward the decoration or leg,but not by camouflaging or intimidating,thus,supporting the deflection hypothesis. | Bingjun WANG Long YU Nina MA Zengtao ZHANG Deyong GONG Rui LIU Daiqin LI Shichang ZHANG | 2022 | Integrative Zoology2022,17,5: | 1 |

| 14 | Mitogenomic Conservation Genetics of the Critically Endangered Liaoning Clawed Salamander显示文摘The Liaoning clawed salamander(Onychodactylus zhaoermii)is an endemic and critically endangered amphibian species of China.To study the population genetics of natural populations of this species,32 samples were collected from six different locations,and the mitochondrial genome was sequenced.Population genetic analyses showed that the Liaoning clawed salamander is composed of only one radialized cluster with ultralow nucleotide diversity.Late Pleistocene climate cooling(-100 to-30 kya)may have reduced the effective population size of the Liaoning clawed salamander,and the subsequent temperature increase(~25 kya to present)provided the opportunity for population expansion.Because of heat sensitivity,the maximum temperature of the prebreeding period,especially from March to May,is very important for the surface environment living in the Liaoning clawed salamander.Three suitable regions were predicted by the MaxEnt model,and the largest suitable region(approximately 899 km2)was at the four-county boundary area and was larger than the present’Natural Conservation Community of the Liaoning Clawed Salamander’.To ensure more effective protection of all Liaoning clawed salamanders,we suggest extending the current’Natural Conservation Community of the Liaoning Clawed Salamander’to include the four-county boundary area. | Yu ZHOU Boyang YU Jichuan ZHAO Fang WANG Zhenwei WANG Bingjun DONG Baotian YANG | 2021 | Asian Herpetological Research2021,12,4: | 1 |

| 16 | Spatial heterogeneity and compositional profiles of dissolved organic matter in farmland soils across China' Mainland显示文摘Dissolved organic matter(DOM) plays an essential role in many geochemical processes,however its complexity, chemical diversity, and molecular composition are poorly understood. Soil samples were collected from 500 vegetable fields in administrative regions of China' Mainland, of which 122 were selected for further investigation. DOM properties were characterized by three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix(3D-EEM) fuorescence spectroscopy and Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(FTICRMS)(field intensity is 15 Tesla). Our results indicated that the main constituents were UVA humic-like substances, humic-like substances, fulvic acid-like substances, and tyrosine-like substances. A total of 10,989 molecular formulae with a mass range of 100.04 to 799.59 Da were detected, covering the mass spectrometric information of the soil samples from 27 different regions. CHO and CHON molecules were dominant in DOM, whereas lignin, tannins,and aromatic substances served as the main components. The results of cluster analysis revealed that the soil properties in Jiangxi Province were considerably different from those in other regions. | 17 | Effect of chain length on the conformation and friction behaviour of DNA显示文摘Four double-stranded DNA films with different chain lengths were prepared on 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APS)-modified mica surfaces in the NaCl solution with concentration ranging from 0.001 to 0.1 M.By using an atomic force microscope,the force-distance curves and friction behaviour of each DNA film were studied in the NaCl solution that was used in the sample preparation.When adsorbed on mica as films in salt solution,the conformation of DNA molecules would be a combination of loops and'train-like'.As the chain length increased from 50 to 20000 bp,the extension rate of DNA film increased from 7.1to 11.5 in 0.001 mol/L NaCl solution,which suggested that the DNA molecule with long chain likely resulted in more extended conformation.In addition,under low normal load,low NaCl concentration could increase the friction of DNA film and the chain length revealed insignificant effect on the friction force of DNA film.Therefore,long chain DNA with low salt concentration is more conducive to the nanopore sequencing process,since extended conformation can make DNA molecules easier to reach into nanopore and the high friction can reduce the translocation speed.These results may benefit the development of the third-generation sequencing technique based on nanopore. | WANG Mian CUI ShuXun YU BingJun QIAN LinMao | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,12: | 0 |
