1Isolation and identification of genes expressed differentially in rice inflorescence meristem with suppression subtractive hybridization显示文摘A subtracted cDNA library of rice (Oryza sativa L.) inflorescence meristem (IM) was constructed using the suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) method. The cDNAs of the rice shoot apical meristem (SAM) were used as 'driver' and inflorescence meristem (IM) as 'tester' in the experiment, respectively. Forty of 250 randomly chosen cDNA clones were identified by differential screening, which were IM-specific or IM-highly expressed. Most of the rice IM cDNAs cloned by SSH appear to represent rare transcripts, 40% of which were derived from truly differentially expressed genes. 2Reliability and validity of dermatology life quality index: assessment of quality of life in human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome patients with pruritic papular eruption显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To test the reliability and validity of dermatology life quality index(DLQI) in simplified Chinese language by assessing the quality of life(QoL) in HIV(human immunodeficiency virus)/AIDS(Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) patients with pruritic papular eruption(PPE). METHODS: A study of simplified-Chinese-versiond from10 questions with the principal component analysis and the contribution rate of the 3 common factors was 59.95%. CONCLUSION: The simplified-Chinese-version DIQL is an acceptable and valid scale for HIV/AIDS patients with PPE. 3Emotion Recognition Using Cloud Model显示文摘Emotions often facilitate interactions among human beings, but the big variation of human emotional states make a negative effect on the reliable emotion recognition. We propose a novel algorithm to extract common features for each type of emotional states which can reliably present human emotions. To uncover the common features from uncertain emotional states,the backward cloud generator is used to discover {Ex,En, He} by integrating randomness and fuzziness. Finally,the proposed method for emotion recognition is verified on the common facial expression datasets, the Extended Cohn-Kanade(CK+) dataset and the Japanese female facial expression(JAFFE). 6Anomaly Detection and Pattern Differentiation in Monitoring Data from Power Transformers显示文摘Aiming at the problem of abnormal data generated by a power transformer on-line monitoring system due to the influences of transformer operation state change,external environmental interference,communication interruption,and other factors,a method of anomaly recognition and differentiation for monitoring data was proposed.Firstly,the empirical wavelet transform(EWT)and the autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)model were used for time series modelling of monitoring data to obtain the residual sequence reflecting the anomaly monitoring data value,and then the isolation forest algorithm was used to identify the abnormal information,and the monitoring sequence was segmented according to the recognition results.Secondly,the segmented sequence was symbolised by the improved multi-dimensional SAX vector representation method,and the assessment of the anomaly pattern was made by calculating the similarity score of the adjacent symbol vectors,and the monitoring sequence correlation was further used to verify the assessment.Finally,the case study result shows that the proposed method can reliably recognise abnormal data and accurately distinguish between invalid and valid anomaly patterns.Jun Zhao Shuguo Gao Yunpeng Liu QuanWang Ziqiang Xu Yuan Tian Lu Sun 2022Energy Engineering2022,119,5:0

8Chromosome-scale genome sequence of Suaeda glauca sheds light on salt stress tolerance in halophytes显示文摘Soil salinity is a growing concern for global crop production and the sustainable development of humanity.Therefore,it is crucial to comprehend salt tolerance mechanisms and identify salt-tolerance genes to enhance crop tolerance to salt stress.Suaeda glauca,a halophyte species well adapted to the seawater environment,possesses a unique ability to absorb and retain high salt concentrations within its cells,particularly in its leaves,suggesting the presence of a distinct mechanism for salt tolerance.In this study,we performed de novo sequencing of the S.glauca genome.The genome has a size of 1.02 Gb(consisting of two sets of haplotypes)and contains 54761 annotated genes,including alleles and repeats.Comparative genomic analysis revealed a strong synteny between the genomes of S.glauca and Beta vulgaris.Of the S.glauca genome,70.56%comprises repeat sequences,with retroelements being the most abundant.Leveraging the allele-aware assembly of the S.glauca genome,we investigated genome-wide allele-specific expression in the analyzed samples.The results indicated that the diversity in promoter sequences might contribute to consistent allele-specific expression.Moreover,a systematic analysis of the ABCE gene families shed light on the formation of S.glauca’s flower morphology,suggesting that dysfunction of A-class genes is responsible for the absence of petals in S.glauca.Gene family expansion analysis demonstrated significant enrichment of Gene Ontology(GO)terms associated with DNA repair,chromosome stability,DNA demethylation,cation binding,and red/far-red light signaling pathways in the co-expanded gene families of S.glauca and S.aralocaspica,in comparison with glycophytic species within the chenopodium family.Time-course transcriptome analysis under salt treatments revealed detailed responses of S.glauca to salt tolerance,and the enrichment of the transition-upregulated genes in the leaves associated with DNA repair and chromosome stability,lipid biosynthetic process,and isoprenoid metabolic process.Additionally,genome-wide analysis of transcription factors indicated a significant expansion of FAR1 gene family.However,further investigation is needed to determine the exact role of the FAR1 gene family in salt tolerance in S.glauca.Yan Cheng Jin Sun Mengwei Jiang Ziqiang Luo Yu Wang Yanhui Liu Weiming Li Bing Hu Chunxing Dong Kangzhuo Ye Zixian Li Fang Deng Lulu Wang Ling Cao Shijiang Cao Chenglang Pan Ping Zheng Sheng Wang Mohammad Aslam Hong Wang Yuan Qin 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,9:0
9Isolation and cloning of a new gene encoding maize initiation factor显示文摘It was demonstrated that parental gene expression of maize in hybrid genetic background was different from that in their inbred lines. RTPCR revealed a cDNA overexpressed in hybrid maize. The cDNA was reamplified and used to screen a corresponding cDNA library. A full length of a cDNA insert ZH01 was isolated and shown to have an open reading frame encoding 414a.a. Sequence comparison shows that ZH01 has extremely high similarity with the previously reported plant initiator factor elF4A and distinct difference from another maize elF4A gene MIF4A. 10Divide and conquer: Machine learning accelerated design of lead-free solder alloys with high strength and high ductility显示文摘The attainment of both high strength and high ductility is always the goal for structure materials,because the two properties generally are mutually competing,called strength-ductility trade-off.Nowadays,the data-driven paradigm combined with expert domain knowledge provides the state-of-the-art methodology to design and discovery for structure materials with high strength and high ductility.To enhance both strength and ductility,a joint feature is proposed here to be the product of strength multiplying ductility.The strategy of“divide and conquer”is developed to solve the contradictory problem,that material experimental data of mechanical behaviors are,in general,small in size and big in noise,while the design space is huge,by a newly developed data preprocessing algorithm,named the Tree-Classifier for Gaussian Process Regression(TCGPR).The TCGPR effectively divides an original dataset in a huge design space into three appropriate sub-domains and then three Machine Learning(ML)models conquer the three sub-domains,achieving significantly improved prediction accuracy and generality.After that the Bayesian sampling is applied to design next experiments by balancing exploitation and exploration.Finally,the experiment results confirm the ML predictions,exhibiting novel lead-free solder alloys with high strength high ductility.Various material characterizations were also conducted to explore the mechanism of high strength and high ductility of the alloys.Qinghua Wei Bin Cao Hao Yuan Youyang Chen Kangdong You Shuting Yu Tixin Yang Ziqiang Dong Tong-Yi Zhang 2023npj Computational Materials2023,,1:0
11Warming Changed Soil Respiration Dynamics of Alpine Meadow Ecosystem on the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Alpine meadow system underlain by permafrost on the Tibetan Plateau contains vast soil organic carbon and is sensitive to global warming.However,the dynamics of annual soil respiration(Rs)under long-term warming and the determined factors are still not very clear.Using opentop chambers(OTC),we assessed the effects of two-year experimental warming on the soil CO2 emission and the Q10 value(temperature sensitivity coefficient)under different warming magnitudes.Our study showed that the soil CO2 efflux rate in the warmed plots were 1.22 and 2.32 times higher compared to that of controlled plots.However,the Q10 value decreased by 45.06%and 50.34%respectively as the warming magnitude increased.These results suggested that soil moisture decreasing under global warming would enhance soil CO2 emission and lower the temperature sensitivity of soil respiration rate of the alpine meadow ecosystem in the permafrost region on the Tibetan Plateau.Thus,it is necessary to take into account the combined effect of ground surface warming and soil moisture decrease on the Rs in order to comprehensively evaluate the carbon emissions of the alpine meadow ecosystem,especially in short and medium terms.Junfeng Wang Ziqiang Yuan Qingbai Wu Rashad Rafique 2019Journal of Environmental & Earth Sciences2019,1,2:0
12N6-methyladenosine modified LINC00901 promotes pancreatic cancer progression through IGF2BP2/MYC axis显示文摘Accumulating evidence indicates that RNA methylation at N6-methyladenosine(m6A)plays an important regulatory role in gene expression and aberrant mRNA m6A modification is often associated with a variety of cancers.However,little is known whether and how m6A-modification impacts long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)and lncRNA-mediated tumorigenesis,particularly in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).In the present study,we report that a previously uncharacterized lncRNA,LINC00901,promotes pancreatic cancer cell growth and invasion and moreover,LINC00901 is subject to m6A modification which regulates its expression.In this regard,YTHDF1 serves as a reader for the m6A modified LINC00901 and downregulates the LINC00901 level.Notably,two conserved m6A sites in LINC00901 are critical to the recognition of LINC00901 by YTHDF1.Finally,RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and gene function analysis revealed that LINC00901 positively regulates MYC through upregulation of IGF2BP2,a known RNA binding protein that can enhance MYC mRNA stability.Together,our results suggest that there is a LINC00901-IGF2BP2-MYC axis through which LINC00901 promotes PDAC progression in an m6A dependent manner.Wan-Xin Peng Fei Liu Jia-Hong Jiang Hang Yuan Ziqiang Zhang Liu Yang Yin-Yuan Mo 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,2:0
13Synergetic variations of active layer soil water and salt in a permafrost-affected meadow in the headwater area of the Yellow River,northeastern Qinghai-Tibet plateau显示文摘The coupling effects and mechanisms of water,heat,and salt in frozen soils are considered to be one of the core scientific issues in frozen soil studies.This study was based on in situ observation data of active layer soil volumetric water content(VWC),temperature,and bulk electrical conductivity(EC)obtained at an alpine meadow site from October 2016 to November 2019.The site is located in the headwater area of the Yellow River(HAYR).We analyzed the synergetic variations of active layer soil VWC,temperature,and bulk EC during the freeze and thaw processes and discussed the underlying mechanisms.When the thaw process occurred from 10 to 80 cm depths,the VWC and bulk EC at a 10 cm depth showed syn-chronous high-frequency fluctuations and both increased linearly.The linear decreasing rate of the VWC(bulk EC)at an 80 cm depth in the freeze depths between 0 and 40 cm was 2(1.6e2.3)times that of the VWC(bulk EC)at an 80 cm depth in the freeze depths occurring 0e10 cm.As soil temperature decreased in the frozen layer,unfrozen water content(bulk EC)decreased nonlinearly along with the absolute value of soil temperature(|T|),following a power(logarithmic)function.This study provided data that partly elucidate the interactions among permafrost,meadow,and ecohydrological processes in the HAYR.Also,our results can be used as a scientific basis for decision making on the protection and restoration of alpine grasslands,as well as for soil salinization studies.Qingfeng Wang Huijun Jin Ziqiang Yuan Chengsong Yang 2022International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,2:0
