| 1 | Transcriptome sequencing analysis for the identification of stable lncRNAs associated with bovine Staphylococcus aureus mastitis显示文摘Background:Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)mastitis is one of the most difficult diseases to treat in lactating dairy cows worldwide.S.aureus with different lineages leads to different host immune responses.Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)are reported to be widely involved in the progress of inflammation.However,no research has identified stable lncRNAs among different S.aureus strain infections.In addition,folic acid(FA)can effectively reduce inflammation,and whether the inflammatory response caused by S.aureus can be reduced by FA remains to be explored.Methods:lncRNA transcripts were identified from Holstein mammary gland tissues infected with different concentrations of S.aureus(in vivo)and mammary alveolar cells(Mac-T cells,in vitro)challenged with different S.aureus strains.Differentially expressed(DE)lncRNAs were evaluated,and stable DE lncRNAs were identified in vivo and in vitro.On the basis of the gene sequence conservation and function conservation across species,key lncRNAs with the function of potentially immune regulation were retained for further analysis.The function of FA on inflammation induced by S.aureus challenge was also investigated.Then,the association analysis between these keys lncRNA transcripts and hematological parameters(HPs)was carried out.Lastly,the knockdown and overexpression of the important lncRNA were performed to validate the gene function on the regulation of cell immune response.Results:Linear regression analysis showed a significant correlation between the expression levels of lncRNA shared by mammary tissue and Mac-T cells(P<0.001,R^(2)=0.3517).lncRNAs PRANCR and TNK2-AS1 could be regarded as stable markers associated with bovine S.aureus mastitis.Several HPs could be influenced by SNPs around lncRNAs PRANCR and TNK2-AS1.The results of gene function validation showed PRANCR regulates the mRNA expression of SELPLG and ITGB2 within the S.aureus infection pathway and the Mac-T cells apoptosis.In addition,FA regulated the expression change of DE lncRNA involved in toxin metabolism and inflammation to fight against S.aureus infection.Conclusions:The remarkable association between SNPs around these two lncRNAs and partial HP indicates the potentially important role of PRANCR and TNK2-AS1 in immune regulation.Stable DE lncRNAs PRANCR and TNK2-AS1 can be regarded as potential targets for the prevention of bovine S.aureus mastitis.FA supplementation can reduce the negative effect of S.aureus challenge by regulating the expression of lncRNAs. | Siyuan Mi Yongjie Tang Gerile Dari Yuanjun Shi Jinning Zhang Hailiang Zhang Xueqin Liu Yibing Liu Usman Tahir Ying Yu | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,2: | 2 |

| 3 | Evaluating the mechanical properties of anisotropic shale containing bedding and natural fractures with discrete element modeling显示文摘Natural fracture data from one of the Carboniferous shale masses in the eastern Qaidam Basin were used to establish a stochastic model of a discrete fracture network and to perform discrete element simulation research on the size efect and mechanical parameters of shale.Analytical solutions of fctitious joints in transversely isotropic media were derived,which made it possible for the proposed numerical model to simulate the bedding and natural fractures in shale masses.The results indicate that there are two main factors infuencing the representative elementary volume(REV)size of a shale mass.The frst and most decisive factor is the presence of natural fractures in the block itself.The second is the anisotropy ratio:the greater the anisotropy is,the larger the REV.The bedding angle has little infuence on the REV size,whereas it has a certain infuence on the mechanical parameters of the rock mass.When the bedding angle approaches the average orientation of the natural fractures,the mechanical parameters of the shale blocks decrease greatly.The REV representing the mechanical properties of the Carboniferous shale masses in the eastern Qaidam Basin were comprehensively identifed by considering the infuence of bedding and natural fractures.When the numerical model size is larger than the REV,the fractured rock mass discontinuities can be transformed into equivalent continuities,which provides a method for simulating shale with natural fractures and bedding to analyze the stability of a borehole wall in shale. | Yingjie Li Lihong Song Yuanjun Tang Jianping Zuo Dongjie Xue | 2022 | International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2022,9,2: | 1 |
| 4 | Environmental consequences of an ultra-low emission retrofit in coal-fired power plants from a life cycle perspective显示文摘To make coal-fired power generation more environmentally friendly,China has initiated a series of ultra-low emission ret-rofits to the air pollution control(APC)system of the existing power plants.In this study,a life cycle assessment(LCA)is conducted to analyze the environmental net benefits for the typical ultra-low emission retrofit of a 1000 MW power plant.The key processes,substances,and APC devices are verified and discussed.The results confirm that the retrofit effectively decreases the environmental stress of acidification potential(AP),eutrophication potential(EP),and photochemical ozone creation potential(POCP)by 69%-79%,which can be attributed to significantly reduced emissions at the stack.However,the retrofit has also increased other impact categories by 24%-79%,primarily due to the consumption of additional elec-tricity and adsorbents.The retrofit of selective catalytic reduction,electrostatic precipitator(ESP),and wet limestone flue gas desulfurization devices has a dominant effect on the impacts of EP,human toxicity potential(HTP),and AP.A newly installed wet ESP shows some environmental benefits(only for AP),but causes considerable burdens,in particular for the investigated impact categories global warming potential(GWP),marine aquatic ecotoxicity(MAETP),and abiotic depletion fossil(ADP fossil).The obtained results indicate that the hidden environmental consequences,which are associated with the production of energy and materials,need to be examined more comprehensively to inform the development of ultra-low emission technologies and strategies effectively. | Jun Dong Yuanjun Tang Aizhong Ruan Jie Chen Xiaoqing Lin Shengyong Lu Xiang Gao | 2021 | Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2021,3,4: | 1 |
| 5 | Analysis of parental genetic diversity and its impact on grain yield and quality of japonica hybrid rice in northern China显示文摘The relationship between parental genetic differences and the quality and yield of japonica hybrid rice strongly influences japonica hybrid rice breeding.In this study,137 parental lines of japonica hybrid rice were genotyped using 8 K rice SNP-Chips to characterize their genetic diversity,population structure,and indica-genotype proportion.The genetic diversity of total parental lines averaged 0.264,with values of0.287 for restorer lines and 0.148 for the sterile lines.The introduction of indica lineage increased the genetic diversity of restorer lines relative to that of sterile lines.By model-based population structure analysis,the 137 lines were divided into 14 groups.According to the grouping results,eight restorer lines and five sterile lines were selected from different groups for cross breeding,yielding 40 japonica hybrid rice combinations(F1).Investigation of the yield and quality of these combinations showed that highyield combinations could be obtained by increasing parental genetic distance to 0.8–0.9,a result accomplished largely by the introduction of indica genomic components of restorer lines.To further improve grain quality,the genetic distance between parents should be reduced to 0.4–0.5,suggesting an indicagenotype proportion of 30%–40%for restorer lines.This study may provide a reference for breeding of japonica hybrid rice. | Hong Gao Zuobin Ma Yuanzheng Wang Manli Zhang Xianju Wang Changhua Wang Zhiqiang Tang Liying Zhang Liang Fu Na He Hui Wang Yongan Yin Yuanjun Bai Guomin Sui Wenjing Zheng | 2022 | The Crop Journal2022,10,3: | 1 |

| 9 | Reducing children’s exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate in homes and kindergartens in China:Impact on lifetime cancer risks and burden of disease显示文摘Exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)in the indoor environment has been linked with significant health risks for Chinese children.Multi-phase DEHP concentrations in Chinese residences and kindergartens were estimated using a mass balance model based on the current baseline condition and control strategies(i.e.,increasing ventilation rate,reducing area of sources,using mechanical ventilation systems,and using portable air cleaners).The health benefits of each control strategy were quantified as the reduction in lifetime cancer risks(LCR)and burden of disease(BoD).In the current situation,the mean LCR and disability-adjusted life years(DALY)number attributable to indoor DEHP exposure for Chinese children were around 6.0×10^(−6) and 155 thousand,respectively.The mean LCR and DALY might be reduced by 25%-54%and 16%-40%,respectively,by increasing air exchange rates by 100%,reducing the use of source materials by two-thirds or deploying commercial air cleaners in naturally ventilated buildings.Meanwhile,avoidable DALYs could result in a reduction of mean economic losses of 2.2-5.3 billion RMB.Mechanical ventilation systems with filtration units may not be helpful for reducing children’s health risks.House-specific and tailor-made control measures are critical in lowering indoor exposure to DEHP to promote sustainable buildings and children’s health in China. | Dongsheng Tao Wen Sun Donghui Mo Yonghui Lin Wei Lv Daniel Mmereki Yousheng Xu Yanghui Ye Yuanjun Tang Chao Ye Cong Dong Zhongming Bu | 2024 | Building Simulation2024,17,3: | 0 |
