| 1 | Comprehensive Characterization of miRNA and PHAS Loci in the Diploid Strawberry(Fragaria vesca) Genome显示文摘Small RNAs(sRNAs) are vital regulators of gene expression and involved in various biological processes. Among them, micro RNAs(mi RNAs) and phased small interfering RNAs(phasi RNAs) have been well defined and studied in the past decades. A bunch of scripts or pipelines were developed to annotate mi RNAs and phasi RNAs. However, some computational annotations are rough and without careful manual check,resulting in low quality annotation. In this study, 19 public strawberry(Fragaria vesca) s RNA sequencing data from nine different tissues were collected to annotate mi RNAs and PHAS loci in F. vesca. After bioinformatics analysis and careful manual checking, 167 known mi RNAs, 27 mi RNA*s with notable abundance, 54 novel mi RNAs were accurately annotated. The terms of two mi RNAs were corrected from mi R477 b and mi R5225 using mi RN47 and mi R3627 h, respectively. Besides 21 nucleotides(nt) mi R390, eleven mi RNAs with a length of 22-nt are in charge of triggering the biogenesis of 21-nt phasi RNAs from 110 PHAS loci in strawberry. In particular, we found several PHAS loci were targeted by two different mi RNAs(similar to the 'two-hit' model) and the phasi RNA generating region located between two target sites. We speculate that one target site is in control of triggering phasi RNA biogenesis and the other target site define the boundary of the region of phasi RNA biogenesis,which likely provide an accurate way for phasi RNA generation. | 2 | A closed-loop process for recycling LiNi_xCo_yMn_((1-x-y))O_2 from mixed cathode materials of lithium-ion batteries显示文摘With the rapid development of consumer electronics and electric vehicles(EV), a large number of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) have been generated worldwide. Thus, effective recycling technologies to recapture a significant amount of valuable metals contained in spent LIBs are highly desirable to prevent the environmental pollution and resource depletion. In this work, a novel recycling technology to regenerate a LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_2 cathode material from spent LIBs with different cathode chemistries has been developed. By dismantling, crushing,leaching and impurity removing, the LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_2(selected as an example of LiNi_xCo_yMn_(1-x-y)O_2) powder can be directly prepared from the purified leaching solution via co-precipitation followed by solid-state synthesis. For comparison purposes, a fresh-synthesized sample with the same composition has also been prepared using the commercial raw materials via the same method. X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and electrochemical measurements have been carried out to characterize these samples. The electrochemical test result suggests that the re-synthesized sample delivers cycle performance and low rate capability which are comparable to those of the freshsynthesized sample. | 3 | Trajectory generation of heat load test based on gauss pseudospectral method显示文摘A new trajectory generation for heat load test is proposed based on gauss pseudospectral method within limit range. Firstly,with multiple path constraints and flight task requirements taken into consideration, heat load parameters are introduced into the dynamics equations. In order to solve the problem of generating such a trajectory within limit range rapidly, the dynamics equations have been normalized by Earth related parameters. Secondly, since the gauss pseudospectral method is just employed to solve the discrete nonlinear programming problem, transformations are developed, which can relate the Lagrange multipliers of the discrete nonlinear programming problem to the costates of the continuous optimal control problem. In addtion, another approach of trajectory generation by tracking the given heat rate is also presented. Finally, simulation results with common aero vehicle(CAV-H) show that the trajectories obtained by both methods can well perform the heat load test with high stagnation heating rate and the large total aeroheating amount; meanwhile, gauss pseudospectral method is better than the compared one in the given range. | 4 | The temporal dynamics of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella enterica and predominant serovars in China显示文摘Salmonella enterica is one of the most common bacterial pathogens in humans and animals.Systematic studies on the trends and geographical distribution of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella and dominant serovars have been well studied in European and American countries while not in China.Here,taking the One-Health strategy,we used>35000 Salmonella enterica isolates to explore the temporal and spatial dynamics of dominant serovars in China.We found that Salmonella Typhimurium was the dominant serovar causing human infection in China,which was consistent with Australia but inconsistent with North American and European countries.The proportion of Salmonella serovars Typhimurium,London,Rissen,Corvallis,Meleagridis,Kentucky,and Goldcoast showed an increasing trend during 2006-2019.We randomly selected 1962 isolates for comparative genomics and antimicrobial resistance studies and found that the number of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)per isolate increased 1.84 and 2.69 times of human and non-human origins,respectively,spanning 14 years.The proportion of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella isolates had an increasing trend during 2006-2019,especially beta-lactam,quinolone,tetracycline,and rifampicin resistance.Moreover,we found that higher diversity of sequence types(STs)in S.Typhimurium than in other serovars,ST34 from pig and ST 19 from chicken origin,were mainly associated with isolates causing child and adult gastro-infection,respectively.Our results fill in the data gap on the trends of dominant serovars and antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella enterica in China.These data provide useful information for public health decision-makers prioritizing interventions for foodborne diseases and food safety. | Yanan Wang Yue Liu Na Lyu Zhiyuan Li Sufang Ma Demin Cao Yuanlong Pan Yongfei Hu Hua Huang George F.Gao Xuebin Xu Baoli Zhu | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,3: | 4 |

| 6 | Geochemical Characteristics of Eolian Deposits in the Chengdu Plain of Sichuan Province and the Implications for Provenance显示文摘In this study Chengdu Red Earth(CRE)from the Chengdu Plain(CP),Sichuan province,was analyzed for its elemental(major and trace elements)and isotopic(Sm-Nd)geochemistry and compared with Pleistocene loess and paleosol samples from the Chinese Loess Plateau(CLP)in Northern China.The geochemical composition of CRE is similar to north China loess,and also resembles the average UCC.This indicates that CRE,as loess deposits in Northern China,was derived from well-mixed sedimentary protoliths that have undergone numerous upper crustal recycling processes.However,obvious differences in the geochemical characteristics of CRE and the north China loess are also revealed in our results.For chemically stable elements,CRE has higher Ti,Zr,Hf and lowerΣREE,Ba contents in comparison with loess samples from the CLP.Further analysis shows that CRE has higher TiO2/Al2O3,SiO2/Al2O3,Ba/Rb and lower Ce/Yb,Eu/Yb,LaN/YbN andΣLREE/ΣHREE ratios.In Sm-Nd isotopic geochemistry,Sm and Nd content and theεNd(0)value in CRE are significantly higher than those in north China loess.The higher TiO2content in CRE coincided with a high background concentration of Ti in the Sichuan Basin and the surrounding regions.The lowerΣREE and higher Sm,Nd,εNd(0)values are related to the wide distribution of basalt in the southwest Sichuan Basin.The elemental and isotopic geochemistry of CRE indicates that eolian materials in the CP predominantly come from the Sichuan Basin and the surrounding regions,which differs from loess deposits in the CLP. | TAN Yuanlong QIAO Yansong ZHAO Zhizhong WANG Yan QI Lin FU Jianli LIU Zongxiu YAO Haitao WANG Shubing JIANG Fuchu | 2013 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,6: | 3 |

The robotic teleoperation system utilizes interactive demonstration via the wearable device by directly controlling the speed of the motors. We present a rotation-invariant dynamicalmovement-primitive method for learning interaction skills. We also conducted robotic teleoperation demonstrations and designed imitation learning experiments. | 10 | Biomarker evidence for biotic and environmental change across the Cambrian Series 2–Series 3 boundary at the Wuliu- Zengjiayan section, Guizhou, China显示文摘The Wuliu-Zengjiayan section in Jianhe County, Guizhou Province, China has been suggested as a potential Global Stratotype Section and Point(GSSP) for the defined base of Cambrian Series 3. A molecular organic geochemical study on the Cambrian Series 2Series 3 boundary interval was carried out to reveal the biotic and environmental change during this transition. The hydrocarbons extracted from the Kaili Formation were proved to be indigenous. The various geochemical proxies such as biomarker parameter, δ13Corg, atomic H/C value of kerogen, and TOC content, co-vary along with the sedimentary column, and show a quick and significant change just across the Cambrian Series 2Series 3 boundary. The less abundance of isoprenoid hydrocarbons, the relative enrichment of midchain monomethyl branched alkanes(mmb-alkanes), the relatively negative value of δ13Corg, and the higher TOC contents may suggest that the upper Cambrian Series 2 was deposited in a relatively reducing environment with a higher organic input from cyanobacteria-predominated benthic microbial mats. On the other hand, the relative enrichment of isoprenoid hydrocarbons, the less abundance of mmb-alkanes, the relatively positive value of δ13Corg, the lower TOC contents, and the lower atomic H/C values of kerogen are combined to indicate an enhanced phytoplankton production and an increased oxygen content and nutrients in the ocean during the early Cambrian Series 3, which could have benefited the explosion of the Kaili Biota. | 11 | Inhibition of p53 and/or AKT as a new therapeutic approach specifically targeting ALT cancers显示文摘While the majority of all human cancers court teract telomere shortening by expressing telomerase,-15%of all cancers maintain telomere length by a telomerase?independent mechanism known as alternative lengthening of telomeres(ALT).Here,we show that high load of intrinsic DNA damage is present in ALT cancer cells,leading to apoptosis stress by activating p53-independent,but JNK/c-IVIyc-dependent apoptotic pathway.Notably,ALT cells expressing wild-type p53 show much lower apoptosis than p53-deficient ALT cells.Mechanistically,we find that intrinsic DNA damage in ALT cells induces low level of p53 that is insufficient to initiate the transcription of apoptosis-related genes,but is sufficient to stimulate the expression of key components of mTORC2(mTOR and Rictor),which in turn leads to phosphorylation of AKT.Activated AKT(p-AKT)thereby stimulates downstream anti-apoptotic events.Therefore,p53 and AKT are the key factors that suppress sponta?neous apoptosis in ALT cells.Indeed,inhibition of p53 or AKT selectively induces rapid death of ALT cells in vitro,and p53 inhibitor severely suppresses the growth of ALT-cell xenograft tumors in mice.These findings reveal a previously unrecognized function of p53 in antiapoptosis and identify that the inhibition of p53 or AKT has a potential as therapeutics for specifically targeting ALT cancers. | Yuanlong Ge Shu Wu Zepeng Zhang Xiaocui Li Feng Li Siyu Yan Haiying Liu Junjiu Huang Yong Zhao | 2019 | Protein & Cell2019,10,11: | 2 |
| 12 | MoS2/C/C nanofiber with double-layer carbon coating for high cycling stability and rate capability in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘MoS2 has attracted a lot of interest in the field of lithium-ion storage as ananode material owing to its high capacity and two-dimensional (2D)-layerstructure. However, its electrochemical properties, such as rate capability andcycling stability, are usually limited by its low conductivity, volume variation, andpolysulfide dissolution during lithiation/delithiation cycling. Here, a designedtwo-layer carbon-coated MoS2/carbon nanofiber (MoS2/C/C fiber) hybrid electrodewith a double-layer carbon coating was achieved by a facile hydrothermal andsubsequent electrospinning method. The double carbon layer (inner amorphouscarbon and outer carbon fiber) shells could efficiently increase the electronconductivity, prevent the aggregation of MoS2 flakes, and limit the volumechange and polysulfide loss during long-term cycling. The as-prepared MoS2/C/Cfiber electrode exhibited a high capacity of up to 1,275 mAh/g at a currentdensity of 0.2 A/g, 85.0% first cycle Coulombic efficiency, and significantlyincreased rate capability and cycling stability. | 14 | Another Record: Ocean Warming Continues through 2021 despite La Nina Conditions显示文摘The increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from human activities traps heat within the climate system and increases ocean heat content(OHC). Here, we provide the first analysis of recent OHC changes through 2021 from two international groups. The world ocean, in 2021, was the hottest ever recorded by humans, and the 2021 annual OHC value is even higher than last year’s record value by 14 ± 11 ZJ(1 zetta J = 1021 J) using the IAP/CAS dataset and by16 ± 10 ZJ using NCEI/NOAA dataset. The long-term ocean warming is larger in the Atlantic and Southern Oceans than in other regions and is mainly attributed, via climate model simulations, to an increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations. The year-to-year variation of OHC is primarily tied to the El Nino-Southern Oscillation(ENSO). In the seven maritime domains of the Indian, Tropical Atlantic, North Atlantic, Northwest Pacific, North Pacific, Southern oceans,and the Mediterranean Sea, robust warming is observed but with distinct inter-annual to decadal variability. Four out of seven domains showed record-high heat content in 2021. | 18 | Scission of C–O and C–C linkages in lignin over RuRe alloy catalyst显示文摘The performance of lignin depolymerization is basically determined by the interunit C–O and C–C bonds.Numerous C–O bond cleavage strategies have been developed, while the cleavage of C–C bond between the primary aromatic units remains a challenging task due to the high dissociation energy of C–C bond.Herein, a multifunctional Ru Re alloy catalyst was designed, which exhibited exceptional catalytic activity for the cleavage of both C–O and C–C linkages in a broad range of lignin model compounds(β-1, a-5, 5–5,β-O-4, 4-O-5) and two stubborn lignins(kraft lignin and alkaline lignin), affording 97.5% overall yield of monocyclic compounds from model compounds and up to 129% of the maximum theoretical yield of monocyclic products based on C–O bonds cleavage from realistic lignin. Scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM) characterization showed that Ru Re(1:1) alloy particles with hexagonal close-packed structure were homogeneously dispersed on the support.
