1Progress in additive manufacturing on new materials: A review显示文摘Recent efforts and advances in additive manufacturing(AM) on different types of new materials are presented and reviewed. Special attention is paid to the material design of cladding layers, the choice of feedstock materials, the metallurgical behavior and synthesis principle during the AM process, and the resulted microstructures and properties, as well as the relationship between these factors. Thereafter,the trend of development in the future is forecasted, including: Effects of the particles size and size distribution of powders; Approaches for producing fine microstructures; Opportunities for creating new materials by AM; Wide applications in reconditioning of damaged components; Challenges for deep understanding and applications of the AMed new materials. 2Fusion tracking in color and infrared images using joint sparse representation显示文摘Currently sparse signal reconstruction gains considerable interest and is applied in many fields. In this paper, a similarity induced by joint sparse representation is designed to construct the likelihood function of particle filter tracker so that the color visual spectrum and thermal spectrum images can be fused for object tracking. The proposed fusion scheme performs joint sparse representation calculation on both modalities and the resultant tracking results are fused using min operation on the sparse representation coefficients. In addition, a co-learning approach is proposed to update the reference templates of both modality and enhance the tracking robustness. 3Precise nanomedicine for intelligent therapy of cancer显示文摘Precise nanomedicine has been extensively explored for efficient cancer imaging and targeted cancer therapy, as evidenced by a few breakthroughs in their preclinical and clinical explorations. Here, we demonstrate the recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanomedicine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity. In particular, a few emerging strategies that have advanced cancer nanomedicine are also highlighted as the emerging focus such as tumor imprisonment, supramolecular chemotherapy, and DNA nanorobot. The challenge and outlook of some scientific and engineering issues are also discussed in future development. 7Suppressor of RNA silencing encoded by Rice gall dwarf virus genome segment 11显示文摘Rice gall dwarf virus(RGDV)is an important rice pathogen in China and Southeast Asia.However,little is known about the molecular mechanisms of RGDV interactions with plant cells.Here,we have identi-fied an RGDV protein,Pns11,which acts as a suppressor of RNA silencing in coinfiltration assays with the reporter,green fluorescent protein(GFP)in transgenic Nicotiana benthamiana line 16c carrying GFP.Pns11 suppressed local and systemic silencing induced by sense RNA.The spread of mobile RNA si-lencing signals was blocked or inactivated by Pns11.Expression of Pns11 also enhanced Potato virus X pathogenicity in N.benthamiana.This suppressor could reduce,but not eliminate,siRNA in the local and systemic RNA silencing suppression assays,suggesting that Pns11 functions by interfering with initial stages of RNA silencing.LIU FuXiu ZHAO Qin RUAN XiaoLei HE YunWei LI HuaPing 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,3:8
8Immunity-and-matrix-regulatory cells derived from human embryonic stem cells safely and effectively treat mouse lung injury and fibrosis显示文摘Lung injury and fibrosis represent the most significant outcomes of severe and acute lung disorders,including COVID-19.However,there are still no effective drugs to treat lung injury and fibrosis.In this study,we report the generation of clinical-grade human embryonic stem cells(hESCs)-derived immunity-and matrix-regulatory cells(IMRCs)produced under good manufacturing practice requirements,that can treat lung injury and fibrosis in vivo.We generate IMRCs by sequentially differentiating hESCs with serum-free reagents.IMRCs possess a unique gene expression profile distinct from that of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(UCMSCs),such as higher expression levels of proliferative,immunomodulatory and anti-fibrotic genes.Moreover,intravenous delivery of IMRCs inhibits both pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in mouse models of lung injury,and significantly improves the survival rate of the recipient mice in a dose-dependent manner,likely through paracrine regulatory mechanisms.IMRCs are superior to both primary UCMSCs and the FDA-approved drug pirfenidone,with an excellent efficacy and safety profile in mice and monkeys.In light of public health crises involving pneumonia,acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome,our findings suggest that IMRCs are ready for clinical trials on lung disorders.Jun Wu Dingyun Song Zhongwen Li Baojie Guo Yani Xiao Wenjing Liu Lingmin Liang Chunjing Feng Tingting Gao Yanxia Chen Ying Li Zai Wang Jianyan Wen Shengnan Yang Peipei Liu Lei Wang Yukai Wang Liang Peng Glyn Nigel Stacey Zheng Hu Guihai Feng Wei Li Yan Huo Ronghua Jin Ng Shyh-Chang Qi Zhou Liu Wang Baoyang Hu Huaping Dai Jie Hao 2020Cell Research2020,30,9:7

11Atomistic insight into ordered defect superstructures at novel grain boundaries in CuO nanosheets: From structures to electronic properties显示文摘Determining atomistic structures of grain boundaries (GBs) is essential to understand structure--property interplay in oxides.Here,different GB superstructures in CuO nanosheets,including (111) and (114) twinning boundaries (TBs) and (002)/(223) GB,are investigated.Unlike the lower-energy stoichiometric (111) TB,both experimental and first-principles investigations reveal a severe segregation of Cu and O vacancies and a nonstoichiometric property at (114) TB,which may facilitate ionic transportation and provide space for elemental segregation.More importantly,the calculated electronic structures have shown the increased conductivity as well as the unanticipated magnetism in both (114) TB and (002)/(223) GB.These findings could contribute to the race towards the property-directing structural design by GB engineering.Lulu Zhao Lei Li Huaping Sheng He Zheng Shuangfeng Jia Weiwei Meng Huihui Liu Fan Cao Huayu Peng Jianbo Wang 2019Nano Research2019,12,5:5

Explorers and researchers have discussed the gold mineralization enrichment conditions by studying sulphur, oxygen, carbon, silicon stable isotopes and mineralizing fluid features of the Baguamiao gold deposit and proposed a hydrothermal sedimentation-magmatic reconstructing gold mineralization model featuring multi-sources of ore-forming materials and multistage mineralizations. 15Large eddy simulation of unsteady transitional flow on the low-pressure turbine blade显示文摘The aim of this paper is to predict the phenomenon of laminar separation,transition and reattachment in a low-pressure turbine(LPT).Self-developed large eddy simulation program of compressible N-S equations was used to describe the flow structures of T106A LPT blade profile at Reynolds number of 1.1X105 based on the exit isentropic velocity and chord length.The computational results show the distributions of time-averaged wall-static pressure coefficient and mean skin-friction coefficient on the blade surface.The locations of laminar separation and reattachment points occur around 87%and 98%axial chord,which agree well with experiment data.The two-dimensional shear layer is gradually unstable along the downstream half of the suction side as a result of the spanwise fluctuation and the roll up of shear layer via Kelvin-Helmholtz(KH)instability.Three-dimensional motions appear near 84%axial chord which later triggers spanwise vortexes and streamwise vortexes,leading to transition to turbulence in the separation bubble.Through introducing the concept of dissipation function,the high loss mainly comes from the places where strong shear layer and intense fluctuation exist.Furthermore,the separation region is only an accumulation center of the low-energy fluid rather than an area of loss source.WANG YunFei CHEN Fu LIU HuaPing CHEN HuanLong 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,9:4

17Skill Learning for Human-Robot Interaction Using Wearable Device显示文摘With the accelerated aging of the global population and escalating labor costs, more service robots are needed to help people perform complex tasks. As such, human-robot interaction is a particularly important research topic. To effectively transfer human behavior skills to a robot, in this study, we conveyed skill-learning functions via our proposed wearable device. The robotic teleoperation system utilizes interactive demonstration via the wearable device by directly controlling the speed of the motors. We present a rotation-invariant dynamicalmovement-primitive method for learning interaction skills. We also conducted robotic teleoperation demonstrations and designed imitation learning experiments. 19Systematic study on the mechanical and electric behaviors of the nonbuckling interconnect design of stretchable electronics显示文摘Recently, we developed a nonbuckling interconnect design that provides an effective approach to simultaneously achieving high elastic stretchability, easiness for encapsulation, and high electric performance for stretchable electronics. This paper aims to systematically study its mechanical and electric behaviors, including comparisons of the nonbuckling and buckling interconnect designs on stretchability, effects of the thickness on electric performance, and modeling and experimental investigations on the finite deformation mechanics. It is found that the results on stretchability depend on the layouts. Long straight segments and small arc radii for nonbuckling interconnects yield an enhancement of stretchability, which is much better than that of buckling designs. On the other hand, shorter straight segments or thicker interconnects are better to lower the resistances of interconnects.Therefore, optimization of the designs needs to balance the requirements of both the mechanical and electric performances. The finite deformation of interconnects during stretching is analyzed. The established analytic model is well validated by both the finite element modeling and experimental investigations. 20Anode materials for potassium-ion batteries: Current status and prospects显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries(KIBs)as one of the most promising alternatives to lithium-ion batteries have been highly valued in recent years.However,progress in KIBs is largely restricted by the sluggish development in anode materials.Therefore,it is imperative to systematically outline and evaluate the recent research advances in the field of anode materials for KIBs toward promoting the development of high-performance anode materials for KIBs.In this review,the recent achievements in anode materials for KIBs are summarized.The electrochemical properties(ie.charge storage mechanism,capacity,rate performance,and cycling stability)of these reported anode materials,as well as their advantages/disadvantages,are discerned and analyzed,enabling high-performance KIBs to meet the requirements for practical applications.Finally,technological developments,scientific challenges,and future research opportunities of anode materials for KIBs are briefly reviewed.Mo Sha Long Liu Huaping Zhao Yong Lei 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,3:3
