| 1 | COUPLED ANALYSIS FOR THE HARVESTING STRUCTURE AND THE MODULATING CIRCUIT IN A PIEZOELECTRIC BIMORPH ENERGY HARVESTER显示文摘The authors analyze a piezoelectric energy harvester as an electro-mechanically coupled system.The energy harvester consists of a piezoelectric bimorph with a concentrated mass attached at one end,called the harvesting structure,an electric circuit for energy storage, and a rectifier that converts the AC output of the harvesting structure into a DC input for the storage circuit.The piezoelectric bimorph is assumed to be driven into flexural vibration by an ambient acoustic source to convert the mechanical energies into electric energies.The analysis indicates that the performance of this harvester,measured by the power density,is characterized by three important non-dimensional parameters,i.e.,the non-dimensional inductance of the storage circuit,the non-dimensional aspect ratio (length/thickness) and the non-dimensional end mass of the harvesting structure.The numerical results show that:(1) the power density can be optimized by varying the non-dimensional inductance for each fixed non-dimensional aspect ratio with a fixed non-dimensional end mass;and (2) for a fixed non-dimensional inductance,the power density is maximized if the non-dimensional aspect ratio and the non-dimensional end mass are so chosen that the harvesting structure,consisting of both the piezoelectric bimorph and the end mass attached,resonates at the frequency of the ambient acoustic source. | Yuantai Hu Ting Hu Qing Jiang | 2007 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2007,20,4: | 7 |
| 2 | An improved piezoelectric harvester available in scavenging-energy from the operating environment with either weaker or stronger vibration levels显示文摘An improved harvester available in scavenging energy from the operating environment with either weaker or stronger vibration levels is studied. To ensure the optimal harvester performance, a Cuk dc-dc converter is employed into the modulating circuit. This paper reports how this harvester scav- enges maximal energy from varying-level vibrations and store energy into an electrochemical battery. Dependence of the duty cycle upon the external vibration level is calculated, and it is found that: 1) for weaker vibrations, the charging current into the battery is smaller than the allowable current, and thus all the optimal output power of the harvesting structure can be absorbed by the battery. In this case, the duty cycle should be fixed at 1.86%; 2) for stronger external forcing, the allowable charging current of the battery is smaller than the optimal harvested current. This indicates that just a portion of the sca- venged energy can be accepted by the battery. Thus, the duty cycle should be decreased gradually with the increase of the vibration level. Finally the energy transmission process and the roles of each elec- tronic element are analyzed. | 3 | ANALYSIS ON BUCKLING AND POSTBUCKLING OF DELAMINATION IN 3D COMPOSITES显示文摘In this paper, the problem of axisymmetric buckling and postbuckling of a circular thin-film delamination bridged by through-thickness fiber tows in 3D composites is presented. An iterativeprocedure based on Taylor’s series expansion is used to generate a family of nondimensionalized post-buckling solutions of the above problem by yon Karman’s nonlinear plate theory. Attention is fo-cused, herein, on the effects of the bridge force of through-thickness fibers on the buckling and post-buckling behavior of the delamination. It is found that fiber bridge not only increases the ability of re-sisting delamination buckling and postbuckling, but also brings on the jump of the delamination deflec-tion mode during the postbuckling phase. The liquid is assumed to be inviscid and incompressible for simplicity. Dynamic equations of the coupled system are established. The added mass effect of liquid on micro-beams is discussed in detail. Characteristics of frequency shift are clarified for different liquid depths. Modal analysis shows that a drag effect of liquid has resulted in the change of phase of interaction(surface shear force), thus changing the system resonant frequency. | 9 | Enhancement the Adhesion between Epoxy Coating and Rusted Structural Steel by Tannic Acid Treatment显示文摘An eco-friendly rust converter treatment based on tannic acid was optimized by orthogonal experiment, and the adhesion of the epoxy top-coating system was evaluated. The results showed that the adhesion between the epoxy coating and the rusted steel after treatment was enhanced from 1.93 to 5.97 MPa. This adhesion improvement was attributed to the formation of the micro-cracked tannic conversion layer and the increase of the compactness of the rust layer.
