The Relationship between Glucose Excursion and Cognitive Function in Aged Type 2 Diabetes Patients显示文摘Objective Evidence suggests that type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is associated with an increased risk of dementia and that glucose variability is an independent risk factor for diabetic complications. This study investigated the relationship between glucose excursion and cognitive function in aged T2DM patients. Methods A total of 248 aged T2DM patients wore a continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) for 3 days in order to evaluate glucose excursion, including mean amplitude of glycemic excursions (MAGE) and mean of daily difference (MODD).All subjects were evaluated with a number of accepted cognitive function tests, including themini‐mental status examination (MMSE).The relationship between MAGE and MODD and performance on these cognitive tests was assessed. Results The MAGE and MMSE score were negatively correlated, likewise with the correlation between MODD and MMSE.Liner multivariate regression analysis showed that MAGE and MODD were also negatively related to MMSE independent of age, sex, glycemic control, hypertension, smoking,or coronary heart disease history. Conclusion Glucose excursion is related to cognitive function in aged T2DM patients.Elevated glucose excursion decreased the MMSE score, which reflects general cognitive function. Thus, therapy aimed at controlling glucose excursion may be beneficial for maintaining cognitive function in aged T2DM patients. | ZHONG Yuan ZHANG Xiao Yan MIAO Ya ZHU Jie Hua YAN Hong WANG Bei Yun JIN Jun HU Ting Jun JIA Wei Ping | 2012 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1: | 34
Report on Childhood Obesity in China (9): Sugar-sweetened Beverages Consumption and Obesity显示文摘Objective To explore the associations between sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption and obesity as well as obesity-related cardiometabolic disorders among children in China. Methods A total of 6974 (boys 3558, girls 3412) children aged 6-13 years participated in the study. Each participant's height, weight, waist circumference, fasting glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, high- density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were measured. The type of beverage consumption was determined using a self-administered questionnaire. Results SSBs were consumed regularly by 46.1% of the children. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% confidence internal (CI)] of obesity was 7.6% [as the reference group (ref.)], 10.1% [1.36(1.07, 1.74)], and 11.6% [1.46(1.21, 1.75)], among children who regularly drank milk, other beverages and SSBs, respectively. Regularly drinking SSBs elevated the likelihood of abdominal obesity [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI): 1.36 (1.17, 1.59)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of obesity among children who regularly drank sports/caloric beverages, carbonated beverages, sweet tea, and plant protein beverages was 16.8% [2.00(1.31, 3.07)], 12.7% [1.52(1.23, 1.88)], 11.5% [1.52(1.18, 1.95)], and 10.4% [1.41(1.03, 1.94)], respectively, which was higher than that of regular milk drinkers [7.6 % (ref.)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of abdominal obesity among children who regularly drank sweet tea, fruit/vegetable juices, and carbonated beverages was 17.7% [1.55(1.26, 1.90)], 16.2% [1.36(1.09, 1.70)], and 15.3% [1.24(1.03, 1.50)], respectively, which was much higher than that of regular milk drinkers [12.8% (ref.)]. Conclusions Regular SSB consumption was positively related to obesity and abdominal obesity. This relationship should be investigated further using a longitudinal study design. | SHANG Xian Wen LIU Ai Ling ZHANG Qian HU Xiao Qi DU Song Ming MA Jun XU Gui Fa LI Ying GUO Hong Wei DU Lin LI Ting Yu MA Guan Sheng | 2012 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2: | 23
Immunogenicity noninferiority study of 2 doses and 3 doses of an Escherichia coli-produced HPV bivalent vaccine in girls vs.3 doses in young women显示文摘A new HPV-16/18 bivalent vaccine expressed by the Escherichia coli has been proven to be efficacious in adult women.A randomized, immunogenicity noninferiority study of this candidate vaccine was conducted in December 2015 in China.Girls aged 9–14 years were randomized to receive 2 doses at months 0 and 6(n=301)or 3 doses at months 0,1 and 6(n=304).Girls aged 15–17 years(n=149)and women aged 18–26 years(n=225)received 3 doses. The objectives included noninferiority analysis of the IgG geometric mean concentration(GMC)ratio(95%CI,lower bound>0.5)to HPV-16 and HPV-18 at month 7 in girls compared with women. In the per-protocol set,the GMC ratio of IgG was noninferior for girls aged 9–17 years receiving 3 doses compared with women(1.76(95%CI,1.56,1.99)for HPV-16 and 1.93(95%CI,1.69,2.21)for HPV-18)and noninferior for girls aged 9–14 years receiving 2 doses compared with women(1.45(95%CI,1.25,1.62)for HPV-16 and 1.17(95%CI,1.02,1.33)for HPV-18).Noninferiority was also demonstrated for neutralizing antibodies. The immunogenicity of the HPV vaccine in girls receiving 3 or 2 doses was noninferior compared with that in young adult women. | Yue-Mei Hu Meng Guo Chang-Gui Li Kai Chu Wen-Gang He Jing Zhang Jian-Xiang Gu Juan Li Hui Zhao Xiang-Hong Wu Bi-Zhen Lin Zhi-Jie Lin Xing-Mei Yao Ya-Fei Li Fei-Xue Wei Yue Huang Ying-Ying Su Feng-Cai Zhu Shou-Jie Huang Hui-Rong Pan Ting Wu Jun Zhang Ning-Shao Xia | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,4: | 19
Effects of ultrahigh pressure extraction on yield and antioxidant activity of chlorogenic acid and cynaroside extracted from flower buds of Lonicera japonica显示文摘The present study was designed to establish and optimize a new method for extracting chlorogenic acid and cynaroside from Lonicera japonica Thunb. through orthogonal experimental designl. A new ultrahigh pressure extraction(UPE) technology was applied to extract chlorogenic acid and cynaroside from L. japonica. The influential factors, including solvent type, ethanol concentration, extraction pressure, time, and temperature, and the solid/liquid ratio, have been studied to optimize the extraction process. The optimal conditions for the UPE were developed by quantitative analysis of the extraction products by HPLC-DAD in comparison with standard samples. In addition, the microstructures of the medicinal materials before and after extraction were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Furthermore, the extraction efficiency of different extraction methods and the 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) radical scavenging activities of the extracts were investigated. The optimal conditions for extracting chlorogenic acid and cynaroside were as follows: ethanol concentration, 60%; extraction pressure, 400 MPa; extraction time, 2 min; extraction temperature, 30 °C; and the solid/liquid ratio, 1 : 50. Under these conditions, the yields of chlorogenic acid and cynaroside were raised to 4.863% and 0.080%, respectively. Compared with other extraction methods, such as heat reflux extraction(HRE), ultrasonic extraction(UE), and Sohxlet extraction(SE), the UPE method showed several advantages, including higher extraction yield, shorter extraction time, lower energy consumption, and higher purity of the extracts. This study could help better utilize L. japonica flower buds as a readily accessible source of natural antioxidants in food and pharmaceutical industries. | HU Wen GUO Ting JIANG Wen-Jun DONG Guang-Li CHEN Da-Wei YANG Shi-Lin LI He-Ran | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2015,13,6: | 15
Structure and photocatalytic properties of TiO_2-Graphene Oxide intercalated composite显示文摘TiO2-Graphene Oxide intercalated composite (TiO2-Graphene Oxide) has been successfully prepared at low temperature (80°C) with graphite oxide (GO) and titanium sulfate (Ti(SO4)2) as initial reactants.GO was firstly exfoliated by NaOH and formed single and multi-layered graphite oxide mixture which can be defined as graphene oxide,[TiO]2+ induced by the hydrolysis of Ti(SO4)2 diffused into graphene oxide interlayer by electrostatic attraction. The nucleation and growth of TiO2 crystallites took place at low temperature and TiO2-Graphene Oxide composite was successfully synthesized.Furthermore, the photocatalytic properties of TiO2-Graphene Oxide under the irradiation of UV light were also studied. The results show that the degradation rate of methyl orange is 1.16 mg min-1 g-1(refer to the efficiency of the initial 15 min).Compared with P25 powder, this kind of intercalation composite owns much better efficiency. On the other hand, the reusable properties and stable properties of TiO2-Graphene Oxide intercalated composite are also discussed in this paper. At last, crystalline structure, interface status, thermal properties and microscopic structure of TiO2-Graphene Oxide were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),thermogravimetric analysis (TGA),field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and high-resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM).Also,we have analyzed major influencing factors and mechanism of the composite structures which evidently improve the photocatalytic properties. | ZHANG Qiong HE YunQiu CHEN XiaoGang HU DongHu LI LinJiang YIN Ting JI LingLi | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,3: | 14
COVID-19: Challenges to GIS with Big Data显示文摘The outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)has caused more than 100,000 people infected and thousands of deaths.Currently, the number of infections and deaths is still increasing rapidly.COVID-19 seriously threatens human health, production, life, social functioning and international relations. In the fight against COVID-19,Geographic Information Systems(GIS)and big data technologies have played an important role in many aspects, including the rapid aggregation of multi-source big data, rapid visualization of epidemic information, spatial tracking of confirmed cases, prediction of regional transmission, spatial segmentation of the epidemic risk and prevention level, balancing and management of the supply and demand of material resources, and socialemotional guidance and panic elimination, which provided solid spatial information support for decision-making,measures formulation, and effectiveness assessment of COVID-19 prevention and control.GIS has developed and matured relatively quickly and has a complete technological route for data preparation, platform construction, model construction, and map production. However, for the struggle against the widespread epidemic, the main challenge is finding strategies to adjust traditional technical methods and improve speed and accuracy of information provision for social management. At the data level,in the era of big data, data no longer come mainly from the government but are gathered from more diverse enterprises. As a result, the use of GIS faces difficulties in data acquisition and the integration of heterogeneous data, which requires governments, businesses, and academic institutions to jointly promote the formulation of relevant policies. At the technical level, spatial analysis methods for big data are in the ascendancy.Currently and for a long time in the future, the development of GIS should be strengthened to form a data-driven system for rapid knowledge acquisition, which signifies ts that GIS should be used to reinforce the social operation parameterization of models and methods, especially when providing support for social management. | Chenghu Zhou Fenzhen Su Tao Pei An Zhang Yunyan Du Bin Luo Zhidong Cao Juanle Wang Wen Yuan Yunqiang Zhu Ci Song Jie Chen Jun Xu Fujia Li Ting Ma Lili Jiang Fengqin Yan Jiawei Yi Yunfeng Hu Yilan Liao Han Xiao | 2020 | Geography and Sustainability2020,1,1: | 13
Silicon photonic platforms for mid-infrared applications [Invited]显示文摘Silicon photonic integrated circuits for telecommunication and data centers have been well studied in the past decade, and now most related efforts have been progressing toward commercialization. Scaling up the silicon-oninsulator(SOI)-based device dimensions in order to extend the operation wavelength to the short mid-infrared(MIR) range(2–4 μm) is attracting research interest, owing to the host of potential applications in lab-on-chip sensors, free space communications, and much more. Other material systems and technology platforms, including silicon-on-silicon nitride, germanium-on-silicon, germanium-on-SOI, germanium-on-silicon nitride, sapphireon-silicon, Si Ge alloy-on-silicon, and aluminum nitride-on-insulator are explored as well in order to realize low-loss waveguide devices for different MIR wavelengths. In this paper, we will comprehensively review silicon photonics for MIR applications, with regard to the state-of-the-art achievements from various device demonstrations in different material platforms by various groups. We will then introduce in detail of our institute's research and development efforts on the MIR photonic platforms as one case study. Meanwhile, we will discuss the integration schemes along with remaining challenges in devices(e.g., light source) and integration. A few application-oriented examples will be examined to illustrate the issues needing a critical solution toward the final production path(e.g., gas sensors). Finally, we will provide our assessment of the outlook of potential futureresearch topics and engineering challenges along with opportunities. | TING HU BOWEI DONG XIANSHU LUO TSUNG-YANG LIOW JUNFENG SONG CHENGKUO LEE GUO-QIANG LO | 2017 | Photonics Research2017,5,5: | 13
Transgenic rhesus monkeys carrying the human MCPH1 gene copies show human-like neoteny of brain development显示文摘Brain size and cognitive skills are the most dramatically changed traits in humans during evolution and yet the genetic mechanisms underlying these human-specific changes remain elusive. Here,we successfully generated 11 transgenic rhesus monkeys(8 first-generation and 3 second-generation)carrying human copies of MCPH1,an important gene for brain development and brain evolution.Brain-image and tissue-section analyses indicated an altered pattern of neural-cell differentiation, resulting in a delayed neuronal maturation and neural-fiber myelination of the transgenic monkeys, similar to the known evolutionary change of developmental delay(neoteny)in humans.Further brain-transcriptome and tissue-section analyses of major developmental stages showed a marked human-like expression delay of neuron differentiation and synaptic-signaling genes, providing a molecular explanation for the observed brain-developmental delay of the transgenic monkeys.More importantly, the transgenic monkeys exhibited better short-term memory and shorter reaction time compared with the wild-type controls in the delayed-matching-to-sample task. The presented data represent the first attempt to experimentally interrogate the genetic basis of human brain origin using a transgenic monkey model and it values the use of non-human primates in understanding unique human traits. | Lei Shi Xin Luo Jin Jiang Yongchang chen Cirong Liu Ting Hu Min Li Qiang Lin Yanjiao Li Jun Huang Hong Wang Yuyu Niu Yundi Shi Martin Styner Jianhong Wang Yi Lu Xuejin Sun Hualin Yu Weizhi Ji Bing Su | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,3: | 12
MiR-122-5p suppresses the proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells by targeting LYN显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is one of malignant tumors with high mortality and morbidity in the world.MicroRNA-122(miR-122)acts as a tumor suppressor in a variety of cancers and has been found to be dominant in gastric adenocarcinoma. However, the specific biological function of miR-122-5p in GC is not completely clear. In this study,we found that miR-122-5p was low-expressed in GC tissues and cell lines by using qRT-PCR.Overexpression of miR-122-5p inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of GC cells by using CCK-8 and transwell assays. On the contrary, downregulation of miR-122-5p promoted the proliferation, migration, and invasion of GC cells. In addition,we found that the expression of LYN,an Src family tyrosine kinase, was inversely correlated with miR-122-5p expression in GC tissues by using western blot analysis, immunohistochemistry, and qRT-PCR assays.Meanwhile, luciferase assay results indicated that LYN is a direct target of miR-122-5p in GC cells. Moreover, silencing LYN expression by its siRNA inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of GC cells.Importantly, overexpression of LYN restored miR-122-5p-mediated inhibition of the proliferation, migration, and invasion of GC cells.Taken together, our results indicated miR-122-5p inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion by targeting LYN in GC. | Lei Meng Zhangming Chen Zhe Jiang Ting Huang Jie Hu Panquan Luo Hongli Zhang Mengqi Huang Lei Huang Yu Chen Ming Lu A-man Xu Songcheng Ying | 2020 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,1: | 12
The Effects of Demographic Features on Differences in Sensitivity between PCL-C and SCL-90 Scores in a Follow-up Study in Secondary School Students in the Wenchuan Earthquake Region显示文摘Objective To analyze the sensitivity of effect factors between the PCL‐C and the SCL‐90,to provide evidence for social psychological crisis screening and post‐trauma interventions. Methods We administered the PCL‐C and SCL‐90 to screen for PTSD and other psychological problems among students who survived the disaster and continued their school studies. The surveys were carried out 3,6,9,and 12 months after the earthquake.A bivariate 2‐level logistic model was used to explore the different levels of sensitivity among students. The factors influencing the relationships between PTSD and depression, and between PTSD and anxiety were examined. Results We analyzed data from 1 677 students, revealing that female students in higher grades were more likely to exhibit symptoms of depression, rather than PTSD,compared with the control group (males in lower grades),and the difference was significant (P<0.05).In contrast, ethnic minorities were more likely to exhibit PTSD symptoms compared to the others. In addition, female students were more likely to exhibit symptoms of anxiety than PTSD.Other effects that did not reach statistical significance were suggested to have a similar influence on PTSD,depression, and anxiety. Conclusion After a natural disaster, specific aspects of depression and anxiety should be examined, avoiding an overemphasis on PTSD in social psychological crisis interventions. | HOU Feng Su LI Ting LI Juan HU Xiao Qin LIU Zhi Yue YUAN Ping | 2011 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,6: | 11
Carnosic acid enhances the anti-lung cancer effect of cisplatin by inhibiting myeloid-derived suppressor cells显示文摘Cisplatin and other platinum-based drugs are used frequently for treatment of lung cancer. However, their clinical performance are usually limited by drug resistance or toxic effects. Carnosic acid, a polyphenolic diterpene isolated from Rosemary(Rosemarinus officinalis), has been reported to have several pharmacological and biological activities. In the present study, the combination effect of cisplatin plus carnosic acid on mouse LLC(Lewis lung cancer) xenografts and possible underlying mechanism of action were examined. LLC-bearing mice were treated with intraperitoneal injection with cisplatin, oral gavage with carnosic acid, or combination with cisplatin and carnosic acid, respectively. Combination of carnosic acid and cisplatin yielded significantly better anti-growth and pro-apoptotic effects on LLC xenografts than drugs alone. Mechanistic study showed that carnosic acid treatment boosted the function of CD8^+T cells as evidenced by higher IFN-γ secretion and higher expression of FasL, perforin as well as granzyme B. In the meantime, the proportion of MDSC(myeloid-derived suppressor cells) in tumor tissues were reduced by carnosic acid treatment and the mRNA levels of iNOS2, Arg-1, and MMP9, which are the functional markers for MDSC, were reduced. In conclusion, our study proved that the functional suppression of MDSC by carnosic acid promoted the lethality of CD8^+T cells, which contributed to the enhancement of anti-lung cancer effect of cisplatin. | LIU Wen WU Tian-Cong HONG Dong-Mei HU Yue FAN Ting GUO Wen-Jie XU Qiang | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2018,16,12: | 11
Prevalence, genetic diversity, and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from bovine mastitis in Zhejiang Province, China显示文摘This study was conducted to determine genetic diversity and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of Staphylococcus aureus recovered from bovine mastitis in Zhejiang Province, China. Out of 3178 quarter milk samples from 846 lactating cows, among which 459 cows (54.3%) were found HMT positive, 890 quarters (28%) were found having subclinical mastitis. From 75 representative S. aureus isolates, 16 distinct types were identified by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Four major PFGE types (A, B, C, and D) accounted for 82.7% of all isolates, and type A (41.3%) was observed in multiple herds across the studied areas. Each region was found to have a predominant type: Hangzhou type A (64.1%), Ningbo type C (34.5%) and type B (23.1%), Jinhua type D (53.3%), and Taizhou type C (62.5%). Results of antimicrobial susceptibility tests showed that 90.7% of the isolates were resistant to at least one antimicrobial. Resistance to penicillin and ampicillin (77.3%), tetracycline (60.0%), or erythromycin (48.0%) was observed. The bacteria resistant to multiple antibiotics such as penicillin, ampicillin, tetracycline, and erythromycin were commonly found. The information obtained from this study is useful for designing specific control programs for bovine S. aureus mastitis in this region. | Jian-ping LI Hai-jian ZHOU Lin YUAN Ting HE Song-hua HU | 2009 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2009,10,10: | 11

Numerical simulation of high-speed train induced ground vibrations using 2.5D finite element approach显示文摘An efficient 2.5D finite element numerical modeling approach was developed to simulate wave motions generated in ground by high-speed train passages. Fourier transform with respect to the coordinate in the track direction was applied to re-ducing the three-dimensional dynamic problem to a plane strain problem which has been solved in a section perpendicular to the track direction. In this study, the track structure and supporting ballast layer were simplified as a composite Euler beam resting on the ground surface, while the ground with complicated geometry and physical properties was modeled by 2.5D quadrilateral elements. Wave dissipation into the far field was dealt with the transmitting boundary constructed with fre-quency-dependent dashpots. Three-dimensional responses of track structure and ground were obtained from the wavenumber expansion in the track direction. The simulated wave motions in ground were interpreted for train moving loads traveling at speeds below or above the critical velocity of a specific track-ground system. It is found that, in the soft ground area, the high-speed train operations can enter the transonic range, which can lead to resonances of the track structure and the sup-porting ground. The strong vibration will endanger the safe operations of high-speed train and accelerate the deterioration of railway structure. | BIAN XueCheng CHEN YunMin HU Ting | 2008 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,6: | 9

Primary biliary cirrhosis degree assessment by acoustic radiation force impulse imaging and hepatic fibrosis indicators显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the assessment of primary biliary cirrhosis degree by acoustic radiation force impulse imaging(ARFI) and hepatic fibrosis indicators. METHODS: One hundred and twenty patients who developed liver cirrhosis secondary to primary biliary cirrhosis were selected as the observation group, with the degree of patient liver cirrhosis graded by Child-Pugh(CP) score. Sixty healthy individuals were selected as the control group. The four indicators of hepatic fibrosis were detected in all research objects, including hyaluronic acid(HA), laminin(LN), type Ⅲ collagen(PC Ⅲ), and type Ⅳ collagen(Ⅳ-C). The liver parenchyma hardness value(LS) was then measured by ARFI technique. LS and the four indicators of liver fibrosis(HA, LN, PC Ⅲ, and Ⅳ-C) were observed in different grade CP scores. The diagnostic value of LS and the four indicators of liver fibrosis in determining liver cirrhosis degree with PBC, whether used alone or in combination, were analyzed by receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve.RESULTS: LS and the four indicators of liver fibrosis within the three classes(A, B, and C) of CP scores in the observation group were higher than in the control group, with C class > B class > A class; the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.01). Although AUC values of LS within the three classes of CP scores were higher than in the four indicators of liver fibrosis, sensitivity and specificity were unstable. The ROC curves of LS combined with the four indicators of liver fibrosis revealed that: AUC and sensitivity in all indicators combined in the A class of CP score were higher than in LS alone, albeit with slightly decreased specificity; AUC and specificity in all indicators combined in the B class of CP score were higher than in LS alone, with unchanged sensitivity; AUC values(0.967), sensitivity(97.4%), and specificity(90%) of all indicators combined in the C class of CP score were higher than in LS alone(0.936, 92.1%, 83.3%). CONCLUSION: The diagnostic value of PBC cirrhosis degree in liver cirrhosis degree assessment by ARFI combined with the four indicators of serum liver fibrosis is of satisfactory effectiveness and has important clinical application value. | Hai-Chun Zhang Rong-Fei Hu Ting Zhu Ling Tong Qiu-Qin Zhang | 2016 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2016,22,22: | 8
Polymerizable Ionic Liquid Copolymer P(MMA-co-BVIm-Br) and Its Effect on the Surface Wettability of PVDF Blend Membranes显示文摘Polymerizable ionic liquid copolymer P(MMA-co-BVIm-Br) was synthesized by radical polymerization technique, and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry(FTIR), 1H Nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR) and gel permeation chromatography(GPC). The resulting copolymer was used to prepare poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) blend membranes via a phase inversion method. The effects of the copolymer on the polymorphism, surface wettability and zeta potential(ζ) of the blend membranes were investigated by ATR-FTIR, contact angle instrument and zeta potential analyzer. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM and SEM-EDS) was also applied to investigate the morphology and the surface element changes of the fabricated membranes. The results indicated that P(MMA-co-BVIm-Br) copolymer existed on the surface of the membrane which made the blend membrane have a positive surface during the experimental p H range. The copolymer was also in favor of the formation of β crystal phase in PVDF membranes. The contact angle experiment indicated that P(MMA-co-BVIm-Br) copolymer could switch the wettability of the blend membranes from hydrophilic to hydrophobic by exchanging Br-anion with PF-6. Compared with pure PVDF membranes, the water flux and water recovery flux of the blend membranes were enhanced obviously. The results from the flux recovery ratio(FR) and total fouling ratio(Rt) all suggested that the blend membranes had good anti-fouling properties. | 杜春慧 Xu-min Ma Chun-jin Wu Mei-qiang Cai Meng-xin Hu Ting Wang | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2015,33,6: | 8
High mobility group box 1 mediates inflammatory response of astrocytes via cyclooxygenase 2/prostaglandin E2 signaling following spinal cord injury显示文摘High mobility group box 1(HMGB1) interacts with pattern-recognition receptors of immune cells to activate the inflammatory response. Astrocytes play a positive role in the inflammatory response of the central nervous system by expressing a broad range of patternrecognition receptors. However, the underlying relationship between HMGB1 and the inflammatory reaction of astrocytes remains unclear. In this study, we established rat models of spinal cord injury via laminectomy at the T8–10 level, and the injured spinal cord was subjected to transcriptome sequencing. Our results showed that the HMGB1/Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4) axis was involved in the activation of astrocyte inflammatory response through regulation of cyclooxygenase 2(COX2)/prostaglandin E2(PGE2) signaling. Both TLR4 and COX2 were distributed in astrocytes and showed elevated protein levels following spinal cord injury. Stimulation of primary astrocytes with recombinant HMGB1 showed that COX2 and microsomal PGE synthase(mPGES)-1, rather than COX1, mPGES-2, or cytosolic PGE synthase, were significantly upregulated. Accordingly, PGE2 production in astrocytes was remarkably increased in response to recombinant HMGB1 challenges. Pharmacologic blockade of TLR2/4 attenuated HMGB1-mediated activation of the COX2/PGE2 pathway. Interestingly, HMGB1 did not impact the production of tumor necrosis factor-α or interleukin-1β in astrocytes. Our results suggest that HMGB1 mediates the astrocyte inflammatory response through regulating the COX2/PGE2 signaling pathway. The study was approved by the Laboratory Animal Ethics Committee of Nantong University, China(approval No. 20181204-001) on December 4, 2018. | Hong-Hua Song Tian-Cheng Song Ting Yang Chun-Shuai Sun Bing-Qiang He Hui Li Ying-Jie Wang Yu Li Hao Wu Yu-Ming Hu Yong-Jun Wang | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,9: | 8
