| 7 | Satellite and instrument entity recognition using a pre-trained language model with distant supervision显示文摘Earth observations,especially satellite data,have produced a wealth of methods and results in meeting global challenges,often presented in unstructured texts such as papers or reports.Accurate extraction of satellite and instrument entities from these unstructured texts can help to link and reuse Earth observation resources.The direct use of an existing dictionary to extract satellite and instrument entities suffers from the problem of poor matching,which leads to low recall.In this study,we present a named entity recognition model to automatically extract satellite and instrument entities from unstructured texts.Due to the lack of manually labeled data,we apply distant supervision to automatically generate labeled training data.Accordingly,we fine-tune the pre-trained language model with early stopping and a weighted cross-entropy loss function.We propose the dictionary-based self-training method to correct the incomplete annotations caused by the distant supervision method.Experiments demonstrate that our method achieves significant improvements in both precision and recall compared to dictionary matching or standard adaptation of pre-trained language models. | Ming Lin Meng Jin Yufu Liu Yuqi Bai | 2022 | International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1: | 0 |
| 8 | Negative correlation between acetyl-CoA acyltransferase 2 and cetuximab resistance in colorectal cancer显示文摘The emergence of anti-EGFR therapy has revolutionized the treatment of colorectal cancer(CRC).However,not all patients respond consistently well.Therefore,it is imperative to conduct further research to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of cetuximab resistance in CRC.In this study,we find that the expressions of many metabolism-related genes are downregulated in cetuximab-resistant CRC cells compared to their sensitive counterparts.Specifically,acetyl-CoA acyltransferase 2(ACAA2),a key enzyme in fatty acid metabolism,is downregulated during the development of cetuximab resistance.Silencing of ACAA2 promotes proliferation and increases cetuximab tolerance in CRC cells,while overexpression of ACAA2 exerts the opposite effect.RTK-Kras signaling might contribute to the downregulation of ACAA2 expression in CRC,and ACAA2 predicts CRC prognosis in patients with Kras mutations.Collectively,our data suggest that modulating ACAA2 expression contributes to secondary cetuximab resistance in Kras wild-type CRC patients.ACAA2 expression is related to Kras mutation and demonstrates a prognostic role in CRC patients with Kras mutation.Thus,ACAA2 is a potential target in CRC with Kras mutation. | Yitao Yuan Xun Sun Mengling Liu Suyao Li Yu Dong Keshu Hu Jiayu Zhang Bei Xu Sining Ma Hesheng Jiang Pengcong Hou Yufu Lin Lu Gan Tianshu Liu | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,9: | 0 |
| 9 | An earth observation potential evaluation model and its application to SDG indicators显示文摘Thousands of satellites and instruments are providing very unique long-term,refined,and diverse perception capabilities for the states and changes of the Earth's surface environment.When leveraging Earth Observation(EO)techniques in SDG monitoring in specific regions,an important prerequisite is to evaluate whether EO could meet user requirements in terms of spatial coverage,temporal frequency and observing variables or objects.It is highly expected to have a quantitative model that can not only represent EO capabilities and observation requirements but also evaluate the potential of EO capability to fulfil these requirements.This paper first describes EO capabilities from the satellite's orbit,operation time,spatial resolution,revisit cycle,accessibility and observation relevance level to variables.Observation requirements and priorities are then derived from SDG indicators.Finally,the potential model is established to match EO capabilities and user requirements.Taking SDG 14.1.1 as an example,this model is capable of returning an ordered list of satellites and instruments for users to refer to.This model meets the gap of evaluating EO potential to fulfil SDG monitoring.It could make full use of the available EO capabilities worldwide to meet SDG indicator monitoring requirements. | Meng Jin Ming Lin Yufu Liu Yuqi Bai | 2022 | International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1: | 0 |
