1Sensitivity-enhanced surface plasmon resonance sensor utilizing a tungsten disulfide (WS_2) nanosheets overlayer显示文摘Tungsten disulfide(WS_2), as a representative layered transition metal dichalcogenide(TMDC) material, possesses important potential for applications in highly sensitive sensors. Here, a sensitivity-enhanced surface plasmon resonance(SPR) sensor with a metal film modified by an overlayer of WS_2 nanosheets is proposed and demonstrated. The SPR sensitivity is related to the thickness of the WS_2 overlayer, which can be tailored by coating a WS_2 ethanol suspension with different concentrations or by the number of times of repeated post-coating.Benefitting from its large surface area, high refractive index, and unique optoelectronic properties, the WS_2 nanosheet overlayer coated on the gold film significantly improves the sensing sensitivity. The highest sensitivity(up to 2459.3 nm∕RIU) in the experiment is achieved by coating the WS_2 suspension once. Compared to the case without a WS_2 overlayer, this result shows a sensitivity enhancement of 26.6%. The influence of the WS_2 nanosheet overlayer on the sensing performance improvement is analyzed and discussed. Moreover, the proposed WS_2 SPR sensor has a linear correlation coefficient of 99.76% in refractive index range of 1.333 to 1.360. 3Performance simulation and optimization of new radiant floor heating based on micro heat pipe array显示文摘This paper proposes two new radiant floor heating structures based on micro heat pipe array(MHPA),namely cement-tile floor and keel-wood floor.The numerical models for these different floor structures are established and verified by experiments.The temperature distribution and heat transfer process of each part are comprehensively obtained,and the structure is optimized.The results show that the cement-tile floor has the better heat transfer performance of the two.When under the same inlet water temperature and flow rate,the keel-wood floor's surface temperature distribution is about 2℃ lower than that of the cement-tile floor.The inlet water temperature of cement-tile floor is about 10℃ lower than that of keel-wood structure when the floor surface temperature is the same.During a longitudinal heat transfer above MHPA,the floor surface temperature decreases by 0.5℃ for every 10 mm filling layer increase.In order to reduce the non-uniformity of the floor's surface temperature and improve the thermal comfort of the heated room,the optimal structure for a floor is given,with the maximum surface temperature difference reduced by 3.35℃.We used research focusing on new radiant floor heating,with advantages including high efficiency heat transfer,low water supply temperature,simple waterway structure,low resistance and leakage risk,to provide theory and data to support the application of an effective radiant floor heating based on MHPA.Heran Jing Zhenhua Quan Ruixue Dong Limin Hao Yunhan Liu Yaohua Zhao 2022Building Simulation2022,15,7:1

5Numerical Analyses of Idealized Total Cavopulmonary Connection Physiologies with Single and Bilateral Superior Vena Cava Assisted by an Axial Blood Pump显示文摘Our study evaluated the hemodynamic performance of an axial flow blood pump surgically implanted in idealized total cavopulmonary connection(TCPC)models.This blood pump was designed to augment pressure from the inferior vena cava(IVC)to the pulmonary circulation.Two Fontan procedures with single and bilateral superior vena cava(SVC)were compared to fit the mechanical supported TCPC physiologies.Computational fluid dynamics(CFD)analyses of two Pump-TCPC models were performed in the analyses.Pressure-flow characteristics,energy efficiency,fluid streamlines,hemolysis and thrombosis analyses were implemented.Numerical simulations indicate that the pump produces pressure generations of 1 mm to 24 mm Hg for rotational speeds ranging from 2000 RPM to 5000 RPM and flow rates of 2 LPM to 4 LPM.Two surgical models incorporated with the pump were found to be insignificant in pressure augmentation and energy boost.The risk assessment of blood trauma and thrombosis generation was evaluated representatively through blood damage index(BDI),particle resident time(PRT)and relative resistant time(RRT).The hemolysis and thrombosis analyses declare the advantage of the pump supported bilateral SVC surgical scheme in balancing flow distribution and reducing the risk of endothelial cell destruction and trauma generation.Xudong Liu Yunhan Cai Bing Jia Shengzhang Wang Guanghong Ding 2018Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2018,,8:1
6Germ cell sex prior to meiosis in the rainbow trout显示文摘Germ cells make two major decisions when they move from an indeterminate state to their final stage of gamete production.One decision is sexual commitment for sperm or egg production,and the other is to maintain mitotic division or entry into meiosis.It is unclear whether the two decisions are made as a single event or separate events,because there has been no evidence for the presence of germ cell sex prior to meiosis.Here we report direct evidence in the fish rainbow trout that gonia have distinct sexuality.We show that dazl expression occurs in both male and female gonia but exhibits differential intracellular distribution.More strikingly,we show that boule is highly expressed in male gonia but absent in female gonia.Therefore,mitotic gonia possess sex,sperm/egg decision and mitosis/meiosis decision are two independent events,and sperm/egg decision precedes mitosis/meiosis decision in rainbow trout,making this organism a unique vertebrate model for mechanistic understanding of germ cell sex differentiation and relationship between the two decisions.Mingyou Li Qian Shen Foong Mei Wong Hongyan Xu Ni Hong Lingbing Zeng Lin Liu Qiwei Wei Yunhan Hong 2011Protein & Cell2011,2,1:1

10PET image reconstruction with rotationally symmetric polygonal pixel grid based highly compressible system matrix显示文摘To achieve a maximum compression of system matrix in positron emission tomography (PET) image reconstruction, we proposed a polygonal image pixel division strategy in accordance with rotationally symmetric PET geometry. Geometrical definition and indexing rule for polygonal pixels were established. Image conversion from polygonal pixel structure to conventional rectangular pixel structure was implemented using a conversion matrix. A set of test images were analytically defined in polygonal pixel structure, converted to conventional rectangular pixel based images, and correctly displayed which verified the correctness of the image definition, conversion description and conversion of polygonal pixel structure. A compressed system matrix for PET image recon was generated by tap model and tested by forward-projecting three different distributions of radioactive sources to the sinogram domain and comparing them with theoretical predictions. On a practical small animal PET scanner, a compress ratio of 12.6:1 of the system matrix size was achieved with the polygonal pixel structure, comparing with the conventional rectangular pixel based tap-mode one. OS-EM iterative image reconstruction algorithms with the polygonal and conventional Cartesian pixel grid were developed. A hot rod phantom was detected and reconstructed based on these two grids with reasonable time cost. Image resolution of reconstructed images was both 1.35 mm. 11Synergistic Effect of Alkali Metals in Coal and Introduced CaO during Steam Gasification显示文摘The steam gasification kinetics of Zhundong raw coal and the washed coal by deionized water or hydrochloric acid with/without addition of CaO were tested by thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA)at medium temperatures(650℃ to 800℃).The cation contents of potassium and sodium in samples were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer(ICP-OES).The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface area of the samples was tested by N2 adsorption,and the morphologies of the samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Experimental results showed that the organic sodium was the main catalyst for the gasification of the pyrolysis char,and the gasification rate of the char could be enhanced further with the introduction of CaO.The inherent alkali metals in coal and the introduced CaO showed a synergistic effect that occurred obviously above 735℃.The char conversion curves with or without CaO were fitted by the modified volumetric model(MVM).The calculated results indicated that the addition of CaO increased the pre-exponential factor obviously,but made little changes on the activation energy.It was proposed that the synergistic effect was resulted from the co-melting of the sodium and CaO,which facilitated the migration of the catalyst ions and the generation of C(O)intermediates for the gasification.LIU Yang YANG Xinfang LEI Fulin XIAO Yunhan 2020Journal of Thermal Science2020,29,6:0
12One-step plasmonic welding and photolithographic patterning of silver nanowire network by UV-programable surface atom diffusion显示文摘Silver nanowire(AgNW)based transparent electrode(TE)plays a pivotal role in optoelectronics where TE is generally required to have fine pattern and high performance.Despite the rapid technological advances in either welding or patterning of AgNWs,there are few studies that combine the two processes in a simple and practical manner.Here,aiming to fabricate high-performance patterned AgNW TE,we develop a simplified photolithography that enables both plasmonic nanowelding with low-level UV exposure(20 mW/cm^(2))and high-resolution micropatterning without photoresist and etching process by conjugating AgNW with diphenyliodonium nitrate(DPIN)and UV-curable cellulose.The cellulose as a binder can effectively enhance plasmonic heating,adhesion,and stability,while the photosensitive DPIN,capable of modulating surface atom diffusion,can boost the plasmonic welding at AgNW junction and induce patterning in AgNW network with Plateau-Rayleigh instability.The fabricated AgNW TE has high figure of merit of up to 1,000(3.7Ω/sq at 90%transmittance)and minimal pattern size down to 3µm,along with superior robustness.Finally,a flexible smart window with high performance is demonstrated using the patterned and welded AgNW TEs,verifying the applicability of the simplified photolithography technique to optoelectronic devices.Gui-Shi Liu Ting Wang Yexiong Wang Huajian Zheng Yunsen Chen Zijie Zeng Lei Chen Yaofei Chen Bo-Ru Yang Yunhan Luo Zhe Chen 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:0
13Highly sensitive vector magnetic fiber sensor based on hyperbolic metamaterials显示文摘Hyperbolic metamaterials(HMMs) are novel artificial materials that excite the surface plasmon resonance(SPR) because of their unique hyperbolic dispersion properties. Herein, to the best of our knowledge, we propose the first HMM-based fiber SPR(HMM-SPR) sensor for vector magnetic detection. By selecting the composite materials and structural parameters of the HMM dispersion management, HMM-SPR sensors can achieve a high refractive index sensitivity of 14.43 μm/RIU. Vector magnetic field detection was performed with the HMM-SPR sensor encapsulated with a magnetic fluid. Compared with other ferrofluidbased magnetic field fiber sensors, the proposed sensor shows pronounced advantages in intensity and direction sensitivity of 1.307 nm/Oe and 7.116 nm/°, respectively. 14Decoupling gene functions from knockout effects by evolutionary analyses显示文摘Genic functions have long been confounded by pleiotropic mutational effects.To understand such genetic effects,we examine HAP4,a well-studied transcription factor in Saccharomyces cerevisiae that functions by forming a tetramer with HAP2,HAP3 and HAP5.Deletion of HAP4 results in highly pleiotropic gene expression responses,some of which are clustered in related cellular processes(clustered effects)while most are distributed randomly across diverse cellular processes(distributed effects).Strikingly,the distributed effects that account for much of HAP4 pleiotropy tend to be non-heritable in a population,suggesting they have few evolutionary consequences.Indeed,these effects are poorly conserved in closely related yeasts.We further show substantial overlaps of clustered effects,but not distributed effects,among the four genes encoding the HAP2/3/4/5 tetramer.This pattern holds for other biochemically characterized yeast protein complexes or metabolic pathways.Examination of a set of cell morphological traits of the deletion lines yields consistent results.Hence,only some deletion effects of a gene support related biochemical understandings with the rest being often pleiotropic and evolutionarily decoupled from the gene’s normal functions.This study suggests a new framework for reverse genetic analysis.Li Liu Mengdi Liu Di Zhang Shanjun Deng Piaopiao Chen Jing Yang Yunhan Xie Xionglei He 2020National Science Review2020,7,7:0
15Change and Signif icance of Mitochondrial DNA Copy Number in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE To compare the differences of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copies among the tissues of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), para-neoplastic tissue and normal mucous membrane of the esophagus, and to study the relationship between the mtDNA and the occurrence and devel- opment of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. METHODS The mtDNA copies of 42 specimens with the ESCC, paraneoplastic mucous tissue and normal mucous membrane of the esophagus were determined using real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. The mtDNA was analyzed using agarose gel electrophoresis. RESULTS The mtDNA from all of the tissues (42/42) from the ESCC, para-neoplastic tissue and normal esophageal mucous membranes was analyzed, showing that there were an average mtDNA copy number of 27.1894×106 μg DNA, 9.4102×106 μg DNA and 5.9347×106 μg DNA, from the respective tissues. There were signifi cant differences (F=27.83, P<0.05) in mtDNA copy number among the three. A positive band was shown at 403 bp after gel electrophoresis of the PCR products, and the lane where the ESCC mtDNA located was rather bright, which was in accordance with the result of the real-time PCR determination. 16Effects of steam on CO2 absorption ability of calcium-based sorbent modified by peanut husk ash显示文摘The CO_2 absorption ability of synthetic calcium-based sorbent modified by peanut husk ash (PHA) was tested by Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer (TGA), and the effects of steam and calcination temperature were investigated. The PHA composition was analyzed by X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), the apparent morphology was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the phases of the sorbent before and after calcination were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The addition of PHA effectively improved the cyclic stability of the calcium-based sorbent. The optimal molar ratio of SiO_2 in PHA to CaO was around 0.07. Steam had positive effect on keeping porosity of the sorbent at the chemical reaction stage, and improved its CO_2 absorption ability. Steam also reduced the diffusion resistance of the product layer, and depressed the influence of high temperature calcination. 17Studies on plasma-activated perilla seed oil:Diagnosis,optimisation,and validation of reactive species显示文摘Recently,the applications of cold atmospheric plasma(CAP)in liquid treatment have attracted increasing attention owing to its excellent medical efficacy.It has been proved that CAP can effectively enhance the biological activity of vegetable oils due to the generation of reactive species.Optimising the reactor parameter is an important approach to regulate reactive species in plasma-activated oil to obtain better biological effects.In this study,a self-made jet array driven by a pulsed power supply was used to generate large-area plasma to irradiate perilla seed oil(PSO),with the formation of plasmaactivated perilla seed oil(PAPSO).By means of laser-induced fluorescence and chemical titration,the relative density of hydroxyl radical radical in plasma jet,as well as the activity of PAPSO were measured under different discharge parameters,and realised the control of the activity of PAPSO.In vitro experiments showed that PAPSO significantly enhanced its ability to inhibit cancer cells proliferation and induce apoptosis after plasma treatment,which provides a reference for cancer treatment.This study is helpful to further understand the influence of plasma dose effect on the activity of media and provide guidance for related plasma medical applications.Xiaolong Wang Jun Liu Quanxin Li Lian Li Shanrui Li Yunhan Ding Tong Zhao Ying Sun Yuantao Zhang 2023High Voltage2023,8,4:0

19Self-assembled monolayer modulated Plateau-Rayleigh instability and enhanced chemical stability of silver nanowire for invisibly patterned,stable transparent electrodes显示文摘Patterned silver nanowire(AgNW)networks have been widely used as transparent electrodes in many optoelectrical devices.However,obvious patterning visibility and poor thermostability of AgNW are still limiting its practical application.Herein,we report self-assembled monolayer(SAM)modulated Plateau-Rayleigh instability(PRI)of AgNW,which allows invisible patterning and superior stability of the AgNW network.Two opposite effects of different SAMs on the PRI are identified:the alkanethiol SAMs activate surface atom diffusion while the mercaptobenzoheterocyclic(MBH)SAMs suppress the diffusion.The degradation temperature of the AgNWs can be therefore,for the first time,tuned in the range of 193-381℃,so that the AgNW network can be patterned via PRI with a tiny optical difference between the insulative and conductive regions,i.e.,patterning invisible.Besides,the MBH SAMs provide AgNW with excellent durability under thermal annealing and oxidation,which enhances the maximum heating temperature of the AgNW transparent heater by over 120℃.Beyond the micro-patterning,we consider that the developed SAM strategy can be extended to other metal nanowires for stability improvement and has huge potential in nanoengineering of one-dimensional metal materials.Gui-Shi Liu Huajian Zheng Zijie Zeng Yexiong Wang Weidong Guo Ting Wang Heng Chen Yunsen Chen Shiqi Hu Lei Chen Yaofei Chen Weiguang Xie Bo-Ru Yang Yunhan Luo 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:0
