| 1 | Network platform for remote structural testing and shared use of laboratories显示文摘This paper presents a network platform developed for remote testing of scaled model or prototype structures and structural elements. The network platform, NetSLab, was developed based on the client/server concept along with a proposed data model and the communication protocols. The platform is capable of transferring the control and feedback data as well as signals among remotely located structural testing laboratories or computers connected by Internet. Several concepts were introduced to develop the platform and to provide relatively easy and friendly interface for applications and further enhancement. Trial and actual tests were successfully carried out at the Hunan University, China and the University of Southern California, USA. | 2 | Evaluating the flavor and divergent bacterial communities in corn-based zha-chili显示文摘Zha-chili is a naturally fermented traditional food from central southern China.Corn-based zha-chili is one of the most popular varieties with a special flavor.To investigate its distinct microbiome,corn-based zha-chili samples were collected and investigated using both high-throughput sequencing and culture-dependent method.Subsequently,E-nose and E-tongue sensors were used to evaluate the overall sensory profile.We found that the bacterial communities present in zha-chili samples from the two regions were significantly different(P<0.05).Companilactobacillus,Lactiplantibacillus,and Corynebacterium were found to be the dominant genera common to samples from both regions.Among these,lactic acid bacteria were the most dominant.Biomarker genera were Ligilactobacillus,Lactobacillus,and Levilactobacillus(Huaihua)and Pantoea,Lactiplantibacillus,and Weissella(Songtao).Using culture-dependent methods,the most dominant genus Companilactobacillus was found to comprise Companilactobacillus alimentarius and Companilactobacillus futsaii.The sensory profile was also characterized.This indicated that zha-chili from the two regions could be discriminated by sourness and aftertaste-B(E-taste),and W1C,W3C,W5C,W1S,W2S,W5S,and W2W(E-nose).Correlation analysis suggested that the dominant genera might not affect the aroma quality of corn-based zha-chili,whereas they were related to taste quality.Levilactobacillus and Ligilactobacillus were positively correlated with the characteristic taste indices and negatively correlated with the off-flavor indices.Another dominant genus,Kocuria was positively correlated with umami and richness(P<0.05).Our results could provide a basis for supporting zha-chili production and help the isolation of appropriate lactic acid bacteria from corn-based zha-chili. | Zhuang Guo Yurong Wang Fanshu Xiang Yun Dong Qiangchuan Hou Zhendong Zhang | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,46,2: | 6 |

| 4 | Effects of 5-Aminolevulinic Acid on the Content of Total Flavonoids and Expression of CHS and CHI Genes in Young Apples显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to investigate the effects of 5-aminolevulinic acid( ALA) on the content of total flavonoids and relative expression levels of chalcone sythase( CHS) and chalcone isomerase( CHI) genes in young apples to determine the appropriate ALA concentration and processing time. [Method]Before thinning,young apples were treated with 0( CK),100,200,300 and 400 mg / L ALA. At 12 d after ALA treatment,the content of total flavonoids in young apples was determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The relative expression levels of CHS and CHI genes in young apples were determined by q PCR. [Result]When ALA concentration was 0- 300 mg / L,the content of total flavonoids and relative expression levels of CHS and CHI genes in young apples were improved with the increase of ALA concentration. As ALA concentration rose to 400 mg / L,various indicators showed a downward trend. Moreover,the content of total flavonoids and relative expression levels of CHS and CHI genes in young apples treated with different concentrations of ALA were improved significantly,which reached the maximum at 9 d and declined since 12 d. | 5 | Correlation of chloride diffusion coefficient and microstructure parameters in concrete: A comparative analysis using NMR,MIP, and X-CT显示文摘Permeability is a major indicator of concrete durability,and depends primarily on the microstructure characteristics of concrete,including its porosity and pore size distribution.In this study,a variety of concrete samples were prepared to investigate their microstructure characteristics via nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP),and X-ray computed tomography(X-CT).Furthermore,the chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete was measured to explore its correlation with the microstructure of the concrete samples.Results show that the proportion of pores with diameters<1000 nm obtained by NMR exceeds that obtained by MIP,although the difference in the total porosity determined by both methods is minimal.X-CT measurements obtained a relatively small porosity;however,this likely reflcts the distribution of large pores more accurately.A strong correlation is observed between the chloride diffusion coefficient and the porosity or contributive porosity of pores with sizes<1000 nm.Moreover,microstructure parameters measured via NMR reveal a lower correlation coefficient R2 versus the chloride diffusion coefficient relative to the parameters determined via MIP,as NMR can measure non-connected as well as connected pores.In addition,when analyzing pores with sizes>50 um,X-CT obtains the maximal contributive porosity,followed by MIP and NMR. | Yurong ZHANG Shengxuan XU Yanhong GAO Jie GUO Yinghui CAO Junzhi ZHANG | 2020 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2020,14,6: | 2 |

| 10 | Enhanced reversibility of the magnetoelastic transition in(Mn,Fe)2(P,Si)alloys via minimizing the transition-induced elastic strain energy显示文摘Magnetocaloric materials undergoing reversible phase transitions are highly desirable for magnetic refrigeration applications.(Mn,Fe)_(2)(P,Si)alloys exhibit a giant magnetocaloric effect accompanied by a magnetoelastic transition,while the noticeable irreversibility causes drastic degradation of the magnetocaloric properties during consecutive cooling cycles.In the present work,we performed a comprehensive study on the magnetoelastic transition of the(Mn,Fe)_(2)(P,Si)alloys by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy,in situ field-and temperature-dependent neutron powder diffraction as well as density functional theory calculations(DFT).We found a generalized relationship between the thermal hysteresis and the transition-induced elastic strain energy for the(Mn,Fe)_(2)(P,Si)family.The thermal hysteresis was greatly reduced from 11 to 1 K by a mere 4 at.%substitution of Fe by Mo in the Mn_(1.15)Fe_(0.80)P_(0.45)Si_(0.55)alloy.This reduction is found to be due to a strong reduction in the transition-induced elastic strain energy.The significantly enhanced reversibility of the magnetoelastic transition leads to a remarkable improvement of the reversible magnetocaloric properties,compared to the parent alloy.Based on the DFT calculations and the neutron diffraction experiments,we also elucidated the underlying mechanism of the tunable transition temperature for the(Mn,Fe)_(2)(P,Si)family,which can essentially be attributed to the strong competition between the covalent bonding and the ferromagnetic exchange coupling.The present work provides not only a new strategy to improve the reversibility of a first-order magnetic transition but also essential insight into the electron-spin-lattice coupling in giant magnetocaloric materials. | Xuefei Miao Yong Gong Fengqi Zhang Yurong You Luana Caron Fengjiao Qian Wenhui Guo Yujing Zhang Yuanyuan Gong Feng Xu Niels van Dijk Ekkes Brück | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,8: | 1 |
