Seasonal and spatial distributions of euphotic zone and longterm variations in water transparency in a clear oligotrophic Lake Fuxian, China显示文摘To assess the seasonal and spatial variations and long-term trends in water optical properties in Lake Fuxian, investigations based on field work in four seasons and a long-term analysis of data from 1980 to 2014 were conducted. The results show that there was no significant variation in the euphotic depth(Z_(eu)) across the four seasons, and no significant correlations between Z_(eu) and potential influencing factors in seasons other than summer, suggesting that the water itself may be a major factor regulating the Z_(eu)in general. Nevertheless, significant differences in Z_(eu) between the north region(NR) and the south region(SR) were observed in all seasonal tests except spring. This finding relates to a higher abundance of chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM) in the NR due to runoff, especially in the rainy seasons(summer and autumn).CDOM and its terrigenous component had an important impact on Z_(eu)in summer, with the highest precipitation, and impacts from suspended solids and non-algal particles were also found in the NR in summer. The Secchi disk depth in the lake decreased clearly over the years, with significantly negative correlations with the increasing permanganate index and air temperature, implying that organic contaminants(CDOM and/or phytoplankton) are important regulators of water transparency. We estimate that the combined effects of climate warming and changes in land use and land cover are also indirect regulating factors. These findings should be considered in the protection of Lake Fuxian, owing to the importance of light penetration in aquatic ecosystems.Qichao Zhou Yunlin Zhang Kaidi Li Licheng Huang Fengle Yang Yuanyang Zhou Junjun Chang 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,10:18
Micro-nano structured functional coatings deposited by liquid plasma spraying显示文摘Inspired by the micro-nano structure on the surface of biological materials or living organisms,micro-nano structure has been widely investigated in the field of functional coatings.Due to its large specific surface area, porosity, and dual-scale structure,it has recently attracted special attention. The typical fabrication processes of micro-nano structured coatings include sol-gel,hydrothermal synthesis, chemical vapor deposition, etc. This paper presents the main features of a recent deposition and synthesis technique, liquid plasma spraying(LPS).LPS is an important technical improvement of atmospheric plasma spraying.Compared with atmospheric plasma spraying,LPS is more suitable for preparing functional coatings with micro-nano structure.Micro-nano structured coatings are mainly classified into hierarchical-structure and binary-structure.The present study reviews the preparation technology, structural characteristics, functional properties, and potential applications of LPS coatings with a micro-nano structure. The micro-nano structured coatings obtained through tailoring the structure will present excellent performances.Yuchun HUAN Kaidi WU Changjiu LI Hanlin LIAO Marc DEBLIQUY Chao ZHANG 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,5:5
A four-gene signature-derived risk score for glioblastoma:prospects for prognostic and response predictive analyses显示文摘Objective: Glioblastoma(GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor regulated by numerous genes, with poor survival outcomes and unsatisfactory response to therapy. Therefore, a robust, multi-gene signature-derived model is required to predict the prognosis and treatment response in GBM.Methods: Gene expression data of GBM from TCGA and GEO datasets were used to identify differentially expressed genes(DEGs)through DESeq2 or LIMMA methods. The DEGs were then overlapped and used for survival analysis by univariate and multivariate COX regression.Based on the gene signature of multiple survival-associated DEGs, a risk score model was established, and its prognostic and predictive role was estimated through Kaplan–Meier analysis and log-rank test.Gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA) was conducted to explore high-risk score-associated pathways.Western blot was used for protein detection. Results: Four survival-associated DEGs of GBM were identified: OSMR, HOXC10, SCARA3, and SLC39A10.The four-gene signature-derived risk score was higher in GBM than in normal brain tissues.GBM patients with a high-risk score had poor survival outcomes. The high-risk group treated with temozolomide chemotherapy or radiotherapy survived for a shorter duration than the low-risk group.GSEA showed that the high-risk score was enriched with pathways such as vasculature development and cell adhesion.Western blot confirmed that the proteins of these four genes were differentially expressed in GBM cells. Conclusions: The four-gene signature-derived risk score functions well in predicting the prognosis and treatment response in GBM and will be useful for guiding therapeutic strategies for GBM patients.Mianfu Cao Juan Cai Ye Yuan Yu Shi Hong Wu Qing Liu Yueliang Yao Lu Chen Weiqi Dang XiangZhang Jingfang Xiao Kaidi Yang Zhicheng He Xiaohong Yao Yonghong Cui Xia Zhang Xiuwu Bian 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3:2
Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG ameliorates DON-induced intestinal damage depending on the enrichment of beneficial bacteria in weaned piglets显示文摘Background: Deoxynivalenol(DON) is one of the most common environmental pollutants that induces intestinal inflammation and microbiota dysbiosis. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG(LGG) is a probiotic that not only has anti-inflammatory effects, but also shows protective effect on the intestinal barrier. However, it is still unknown whether LGG exerts beneficial effects against DON-induced intestinal damage in piglets. In this work, a total of 36 weaned piglets were randomized to one of four treatment groups for 21 d. The treatment groups were CON(basal diet);LGG(basal diet supplemented with 1.77 × 10^(11)CFU/kg LGG);DON(DON-contaminated diet) and LGG + DON(DON-contaminated diet supplemented with 1.77 × 10^(11)CFU/kg LGG).Result: Supplementation of LGG can enhance growth performance of piglets exposed to DON by improving intestinal barrier function. LGG has a mitigating effect on intestinal inflammation induced by DON exposure, largely through repression of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. Furthermore, supplementation of LGG increased the relative abundances of beneficial bacteria(e.g., Collinsella, Lactobacillus, Ruminococcus_torques_group and Anaerofustis), and decreased the relative abundances of harmful bacteria(e.g., Parabacteroides and Ruminiclostridium_6), and also promoted the production of SCFAs.Conclusions: LGG ameliorates DON-induced intestinal damage, which may provide theoretical support for the application of LGG to alleviate the adverse effects induced by DON exposure.Yongsong Bai Kaidi Ma Jibo Li Zhongshuai Ren Jing Zhang Anshan Shan 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,6:2
Genome-wide identification and expression analyses of homeodomain-leucine zipper family genes reveal their involvement in stress response in apple(Malus×domestica)显示文摘The homeodomain-leucine zipper(HD-Zip)family has been shown to perform amultitude of functions during plant development and stress responses;however, the familymembers and functions have not been identified in apple(Malus×domestica). In this study,83 HD-Zips(MdHDZs)were identified in the apple genome. They were assembled into four subgroups according to the classification in Arabidopsis, where MdHDZs in the same subgroup had similar gene structures and conserved protein motifs.Putative cis-element analysis of MdHDZs promoter regions uncovered numerous elements related to the response of stress and plant hormones. In addition, twelve transcripts of the MdHDZs showed different expression patterns under salt, drought, low temperature and ABA stresses by quantitative reverse transcription-PCR(qRT-PCR)assay.To further explore the function of MdHDZs in apple,MdHDZ3 was selected to verify its function under salt, low temperature and ABA stresses;and genetic transformation was used to obtain MdHDZ3 transgenic apple calli. The results demonstrated that MdHDZ3 increased sensitivity to salt, low temperature and abscisic acid in apple calli, suggesting that MdHDZ3 plays an important role in response to stresses.Subcellular localization and three-dimensional structural analysis revealed that MdHDZ3 was a nuclear-localized protein.Taken together, these findings provide potential information for further identification of HD-Zip proteins in apple.Quanyan Zhang Tao Chen Xun Wang Jiahui Wang Kaidi Gu Jianqiang Yu Dagang Hu Yujin Hao 2022Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,3:1

Single-molecule imaging of dinitrogen molecule adsorption on individual iron phthalocyanine显示文摘Nitrogen fixation is a vital process for both nature and industry.Whereas the nitrogenase can reduce nitrogen in ambient environment in nature, the industrialized Haber-Bosch process is a high temperature and high-pressure process.Since the discovery of the first dinitrogen complex in 1965,many dinitrogen complexes are prepared in a homogeneous solution to mimic the nitrogenase enzyme in nature. However, studies of the heterogeneous process on surface are rarely addressed. Moreover, molecular scale characterization for such dinitrogen complex is lacking. Here,we present a simple model system to investigate,at the single-molecule level, the binding of dinitrogen on a surface confined iron phthalocyanine(FePc)monolayer through the combination of in-situ low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy(LT-STM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)measurements. The iron center in FePc molecule deposited on Au(111)and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite(HOPG)surface can adsorb dinitrogen molecule at room temperature and low pressure.A comparative study reveals that the adsorption behaviors of FePc on these two different substrates are identical.Chemical bond is formed between the dinitrogen and the Fe atom in the FePc molecule, which greatly modifies the electronic structure of FePc.The bonding is reversible and can be manipulated by applying bias using a STM tip or by thermal annealing.Chengding Gu Jia Lin Zhang Jian Qiang Zhong Qian Shen Xiong Zhou Kaidi Yuan Shuo Sun Xu Lian Zhirui Ma Wei Chen 2020Nano Research2020,13,9:1
Highly sensitive ZnO nanoparticles-loaded In_(2)O_(3) hollow microsphere for detecting ppb-level NO_(2) at low working temperature显示文摘This paper presents a N0_(2) sensor operating at low temperature, which was fabricated by ZnO nanoparticlesloaded In2O3 hollow microspheres composites.SEM,XRD,XPS and HRTEM were executed to determine the morphology and microstructure of ZnO-In_(2)O_(3).The sensing performance of pure In_(2)O_(3) and ZnO-Iri_(2)O_(3) composite sensors was tested. The N0_(2) sensing properties of the composite were greatly improved in contrast with the pure In_(2)O_(3) sensor at the optimized operating temperature(75℃).ZnO-In_(2)O_(3) composite sensor exhibited an obviously higher response(805.2 for 100 ppb N0_(2))than that of the pure In2O3 sensor(14 for 100 ppb N0_(2)).In particular, the response/recovery rate of ZnO-In_(2)O_(3) composite sensor was greatly improved in contrast with the pure In_(2)O_(3) sensor. The n-n heterojunctions created at ZnO-In_(2)O_(3) interfaces improved the sensing performance.Chao Zhang Dongjin Sun Yuchun Huan Kaidi Wu Hanlin Liao 2020Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2020,30,4:1
A Novel Deep Learning Representation for Industrial Control System Data显示文摘Feature extraction plays an important role in constructing artificial intel-ligence(AI)models of industrial control systems(ICSs).Three challenges in this field are learning effective representation from high-dimensional features, data heterogeneity, and data noise due to the diversity of data dimensions, formats and noise of sensors, controllers and actuators.Hence,a novel unsupervised learn-ing autoencoder model is proposed for ICS data in this paper.Although traditional methods only capture the linear correlations of ICS features, our deep industrial representation learning model(DIRL)based on a convolutional neural network can mine high-order features, thus solving the problem of high-dimensional and heterogeneous ICS data.In addition,an unsupervised denoising autoencoder is introduced for noisy ICS data in DIRL.Training the denoising autoencoder allows the model to better mitigate the sensor noise problem. In this way,the represen-tative features learned by DIRL could help to evaluate the safety state of ICSs more effectively. We tested our model with absolute and relative accuracy experi-ments on two large-scale ICS datasets.Compared with other popular methods,DIRL showed advantages in four common indicators of AI algorithms:accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.This study contributes to the effective analysis of large-scale ICS data, which promotes the stable operation of ICSs.Bowen Zhang Yanbo Shi Jianming Zhao Tianyu Wang Kaidi Wang 2023Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,,6:0
Pressure-dependent band-bending in ZnO:A near-ambient-pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study显示文摘ZnO-based catalysts have been intensively studied because of their extraordinary performance in lower olefin synthesis, methanol synthesis and water-gas shift reactions. However, how ZnO catalyzes these reactions are still not well understood.Herein,we investigate the activations of CO_(2),O_(2)and CO on single crystalline ZnO polar surfaces at room temperature, through in-situ near-ambient-pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(NAP-XPS).It is revealed that O_(2)and CO_(2)can undergo chemisorption on ZnO polar surfaces at elevated pressures. On the ZnO(0001)surface,molecular CO_(2)(O_(2))can chemically interact with the top layer Zn atoms, leading to the formation of CO_(2)^(δ-)(O_(2)^(δ-))or partially dissociative atomic oxygen(O-)and hence the electron depletion layer in ZnO.Therefore,an apparent upward band-bending in ZnO(0001)is observed under the CO_(2)and O_(2)exposure.On the ZnO(0001)surface,the molecular chemisorbed CO_(2)(O_(2))mainly bond to the surface oxygen vacancies, which also results in an upward bandbending in ZnO(0001).In contrast,no band-bending is observed for both ZnO polar surfaces upon CO exposure. The electron-acceptor nature of the surface bounded molecules/atoms is responsible for the reversible binding energy shift of Zn 2 p_(3/2)and O 1 s in ZnO.Our findings can shed light on the fundamental understandings of CO_(2)and O_(2)activation on ZnO surfaces, especially the role of ZnO in heterogeneous catalytic reactions.Zhirui Ma Xu Lian Kaidi Yuan Shuo Sun Chengding Gu Jia Lin Zhang Jing Lyu Jian-Qiang Zhong Lei Liu Hexing Li Wei Chen 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,9:0
Prospering the biphen[n]arenes family by tailoring reaction modules显示文摘Reported here is the comprehensive investigation on the formation of biphen[n]arenes by tailoring reac-tion modules.Five new macrocyclic arenes and four oligomers were synthesized by the condensation of monomers possessing different multimethoxyphenyl reaction modules and paraformaldehyde. We proved that the number and sites of methoxy on reaction modules greatly affected the reaction activity, shape, and connection mode of macrocycles. Moreover, the triangular and saddle-shaped configuration of macro-cycles were revealed by single crystal structures. The results provided a typical and fundamental guidance in designing new macrocyclic arenes.Kaidi Xu Zhi-Yuan Zhang Zihao Zhou Chunju Li 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,5:0
Organic Carbon Deposition on the Inner Shelf of the East China Sea Constrained by Sea Level and Climatic Changes Since the Last Deglaciation显示文摘The East China Sea(ECS),which is located in the transitional zone between land and ocean,is the main site for the burial of sedimentary organic carbon.Despite good constraints of the modern source to the sinking process of organic carbon, its fate in response to changes in climate and sea level since the last deglaciation remains poorly understood. We aim to fill this gap by presenting a high-resolution sedimentary record of core EC2005 to derive a better understanding of the evolution of the depositional environment and its control on the organic deposition since 17.3 kyr.Our results suggest that sedimentary organic carbon was deposited in a terrestrial environment before the seawater reached the study area around 13.1 kyr. This significant transition from a terrestrial environment to a marine environment is reflected by the decrease in TOC/TN and TOC/TS ratios, which is attributed to deglacial sea level rise. The sea level continued to rise until it reached its highstand at approximately 7.3 kyr when the mud depocenter was developed. Our results further indicate that the deposition of the sedimentary organic carbon could respond quickly to abrupt cold events, including the Heinrich stadial 1 and the Younger Dryas during the last deglaciation,as well as‘Bond events'during the Holocene. We propose that the rapid response of the organic deposition to those cold events in the northern hemisphere is linked to the East Asian winter monsoon. These new findings demonstrate that organic carbon deposition and burial on the inner shelf could effectively document sea level and climatic changes.ZHANG Mingyu LIU Xiting XU Fangjian LI Anchun GU Yu CHANG Xin ZHUANG Guangchao ZHANG Kaidi BI Naishuang WANG Houjie 2023Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,5:0
CD19-targeted chimeric antigen receptor-modified T cells induce remission in patients with relapsed acute B lymphoblastic leukemia after umbilical cord blood transplantation显示文摘To the Editor:Umbilical cord blood transplant(UCBT)serves as an alternative option for treating patients with B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL),in the absence of a compatible donor. However, disease recurrence presents a difficult challenge.Chimeric antigen receptor(CAR)-T cell therapy is a promising approach for treating patients with relapsed/refractory ALL.Among the intensive investigations of infusion of CAR-T cells after transplant, few focus on patients who were administered CAR-T therapy after they relapsed subsequently to UCBT.Here,we report the response rate, toxicity, and survival of CD19 CAR-T cells administered to 10 children and young adults with relapsed acute B lymphoblastic leukemia(B-ALL)after UCBT.Between April 2018 and September 2019,11 patients with relapsed B-ALL after UCBT were enrolled, including three females and eight males, the median age was 10 years(range 7-22 years)and median weight was 35.0 kg(range 21.0-72.0 kg).Patient 10 was excluded because of unsuccessful cell culture.Qianwen Xu Hui Xu Lei Xue Min Wang Guiwang Pan Xuhan Zhang Kaidi Song Wen Yao Xiang Wan Juan Tong Huilan Liu Hanying Xu Xin Liu Xiaoyu Zhu Zimin Sun Lin Yang Xingbing Wang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,1:0
