| 2 | Coding metamaterials, digital metamaterials and programmable metamaterials显示文摘Metamaterials are artificial structures that are usually described by effective medium parameters on the macroscopic scale,and these metamaterials are referred to as‘analog metamaterials’.Here,we propose‘digital metamaterials’through two steps.First,we present‘coding metamaterials’that are composed of only two types of unit cells,with 0 and p phase responses,which we name‘0’and‘1’elements,respectively.By coding‘0’and‘1’elements with controlled sequences(i.e.,1-bit coding),we can manipulate electromagnetic(EM)waves and realize different functionalities.The concept of coding metamaterials can be extended from 1-bit coding to 2-bit coding or higher.In 2-bit coding,four types of unit cells,with phase responses of 0,p/2,p,and 3p/2,are required to mimic the‘00’,‘01’,‘10’and‘11’elements,respectively.The 2-bit coding has greater freedom than 1-bit coding for controlling EM waves.Second,we propose a unique metamaterial particle that has either a‘0’or‘1’response controlled by a biased diode.Based on this particle,we present‘digital metamaterials’with unit cells that possess either a‘0’or‘1’state.Using a field-programmable gate array,we realize digital control over the digital metamaterial.By programming different coding sequences,a single digital metamaterial has the ability to manipulate EM waves in different manners,thereby realizing‘programmable metamaterials’.The above concepts and physical phenomena are confirmed through numerical simulations and experiments using metasurfaces. | Tie Jun Cui Mei Qing Qi Xiang Wan Jie Zhao Qiang Cheng | 2014 | Light(Science & Applications)2014,3,1: | 130 |
| 3 | DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF CESAREAN SCAR PREGNANCY显示文摘Objective To investigate the early diagnosis and treatment of cesarean scar pregnancy(CSP).Methods Clinical data of 28 patients with CSP in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 1994 to April 2007,including age,interval from the last cesarean delivery to diagnosis,clinical presentation,location of the lesion,process of diagnosis and treatment,outcome,and follow-up,were retrospectively analyzed.Results CSP constituted 1.05% of all ectopic pregnancies,and the ratio of CSP to pregnancy was 1∶1221.The mean age of the group was 31.4 years.Twenty-six women had only one prior cesarean delivery.The interval from the last cesarean delivery to diagnosis ranged from 4 months to 15 years.The most common presenting symptoms of CSP were amenorrhoea and vaginal bleeding.Seventeen cases were misdiagnosed as early intrauterine pregnancies and 2 were misdiagnosed as gestational trophoblastic tumor.The other 9 were diagnosed definitely before treatment.The diagnosis was made based on cesarean delivery history,gynecologic examination,ultrasound,and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).The treatment of CSP included systemic or local methotrexate administration,conservative surgery,and hysterectomy.The conservative treatment was successful in 24 cases.All of the 28 women were cured through individual therapies.Conclusions CSP is rare and usually misdiagnosed as other diseases.Ultrasound is valuable for diagnosing CSP,and MRI can be used as an adjunct to ultrasound scan.Early diagnosis offers the options of conservative treatment and greatly improves the outcome of patients.Individual therapy is strongly recommended. | Lan-zhou Jiao Jun Zhao Xi-run Wan Xin-yan Liu Feng-zhi Feng Tong Ren Yang Xiang | 2008 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2008,23,1: | 65 |
| 4 | The Grid Search Algorithm of Tectonic Stress Tensor Based on Focal Mechanism Data and Its Application in the Boundary Zone of China, Vietnam and Laos显示文摘Stress field plays a key role in geodynamics. In this study, an algorithm to determine the stress tensor and its confidence range from focal mechanism data by using grid search method was proposed. The experiment uses artificial focal mechanism data which were generated by extensional, compression and strike-slip stress regime and different level of noise, shows that the precision of the estimated stress tensor based on this algorithm is greatly improved compared with traditional algorithms. This algorithm has three advantages:(1) The global optimal solution of the stress tensor is determined by fine grid search of 1o×1o×1o×0.01 and local minimum value is avoided;(2) precision of focal mechanism data can be considered, i.e., different weight of the focal mechanism data contributes differently to the process of determining stress tensor;(3) the confidence range of the determined stress tensor can be obtained by using F-test. We apply this algorithm in the boundary zone of China, Vietnam and Laos, and obtain the stress field with SSE-NNW compressive stress direction and NEE-SWW extensional stress direction. The stress ratio is 0.6, which shows that the eigen values of the stress tensor are nearly in arithmetic sequence. The stress field in this region is consistent with the left-lateral strike slip of the Dienbien-Lauangphrabang arc fault. | 7 | Effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca^(2+)-ATPase mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction (CQCQD) on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis (AP) rats. METHODS: Thirty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomized into control group, AP group and CQCQD group (n = 3 × 10). The rats in the CQCQD group were intragastrically administered with CQCQD (10 mL/kg every 2 h) after induction of AP by intraperitoneal injection of caerulein (50 μg/kg.h × 5) within 4 h. At 6 h after the induction of AP model, pancreatic tissues were collected for the pathological observation, mRNA extraction for determination of SERCA1 and SERCA2 mRNA expression or pancreatic acinar cell isolation for measurement of fluorescence intensity (FI) of intracellular calcium ion concentration [Ca2+]i. RESULTS: There was no expression of pancreatic SERCA1 mRNA in the control group and the AP group. The expression of pancreatic SERCA2 mRNA in the AP group was down-regulated (expression ratio = 0.536; P = 0.001) compared with the control group, while that in the CQCQD group was up-regulated (expression ratio= 2.00; P = 0.012) compared with AP group. | 8 | Endothelium-specific SIRT1 overexpression inhibits hyperglycemia-induced upregulation of vascular cell senescence显示文摘The rapidly increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus worldwide is one of the most serious and challenging health problems in the 21st century.Mammalian sirtuin 1(SIRT1) has been shown to decrease high-glucose-induced endothelial cell senescence in vitro and prevent hyperglycemia-induced vascular dysfunction.However,a role for SIRT1 in prevention of hyperglycemia-induced vascular cell senescence in vivo remains unclear.We used endothelium-specific SIRT1 transgenic(SIRT1-Tg) mice and wild-type(WT) mice to construct a 40-week streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic mouse model.In this mode,42.9% of wild-type(WT) mice and 38.5% of SIRT1-Tg mice were successfully established as diabetic.Forty weeks of hyperglycemia induced significant vascular cell senescence in aortas of mice,as indicated by upregulation of expression of senescence-associated markers including p53,p21 and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1).However,SIRT1-Tg diabetic mice displayed dramatically decreased expression of p53,p21 and PAI-1 compared with diabetic WT mice.Moreover,manganese superoxide dismutase expression(MnSOD) was significantly downregulated in the aortas of diabetic WT mice,but was preserved in diabetic SIRT1-Tg mice.Furthermore,expression of the oxidative stress adaptor p66Shc was significantly decreased in aortas of SIRT1-Tg diabetic mice compared with WT diabetic mice.Overall,these findings suggest that SIRT1-mediated inhibition of hyperglycemia-induced vascular cell senescence is mediated at least partly through the reduction of oxidative stress. | CHEN HouZao WAN YanZhen ZHOU Shuang LU YunBiao ZHANG ZhuQin ZHANG Ran CHEN Feng HAO DeLong ZHAO Xiang GUO ZhiChen LIU DePei LIANG ChihChuan | 2012 | Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,6: | 14 |

| 10 | Effects and mechanisms of Bazhen decoction,Siwu decoction,and Sijunzi decoction on 5-fluorouracil-induced anemia in mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of Bazhen decoction(BZD),Siwu decoction(SWD) and Sijunzi decoction(SJZD) in mice with anemia induced by5-fluorouracil(5-FU) and discussed the possible pharmacological hematopoietic mechanism to provide experimental evidence for the clinical use of the three classical prescriptions in the treatment of anemia.METHODS:Anemia was induced by intravenous injection of 5-FU and 80 female Kunming mice were randomly,assigned to oral administration of SWD,SJZD,or BZD daily for 10 days.Peripheral blood cells count and bone marrow cell cycle were monitored to evaluate anti-anemia effects.Serum cytokines,interferon-γ(IFN-γ),interleukin-3(IL-3),erythropoietin(EPO),granulocyte-macrophage colonystimulating factor(GM-CSF),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) were assayed.EPO m RNA expression was assayed in kidney and liver tissue homogenates.RESULTS:BZD and SWD significantly increased the number of red blood cells,hemoglobin concentration,and hematocrit,promoted bone marrow cells to enter the cell cycle,proliferate and differentiate,significantly increased IL-3 secretion,and significantly inhibited IFN-γ secretion.BZD stimulated transcription of EPO m RNA in the kidney and liver and enhanced serum EPO expression.A therapeutic effect of SJZD was not observed.CONCLUSION:BZD and SWD treatment specifically enhanced hematopoietic function and mediated myelopoiesis by altering serum cytokines levels and accelerating entry of bone marrow cells into the cell cycle.Better curative effects were achieved via nourishing both Qi and blood(BZD) than by enriching the blood(SWD) or invigorating Qi(SWZD)alone. | Tian Yunan Xiang Yuke Wan Guoran Wan Dong Zhu Huifeng Wang Tao Yang Xian | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,4: | 12 |

| 13 | Geological analysis and FT dating of the large-scale right-lateral strike-slip movement of the Red River fault zone显示文摘Tectonically, the large-scale right-lateral strike-slip movement along the Red River fault zone is char-acterized at its late phase with the southeastward extension and deformation of the Northwestern Yunnan normal fault depression on its northern segment, and the dextral shear displacement on its central-southern segment. Research of the relations between stratum deformation and fault movement on the typical fault segments, such as Jianchuan, southeast Midu, Yuanjiang River, Yuanyang, etc. since the Miocene Epoch shows that there are two times dextral faulting dominated by normal shearing occurring along the Red River fault zone since the Miocene Epoch. The fission track dating (abbrevi-ated to FT dating, the same below) is conducted on apatite samples collected from the above fault segments and relating to these movements. Based on the measured single grain’s age and the con-fined track length, we choose the Laslet annealing model to retrieve the thermal history of the samples, and the results show that the fault zone experienced two times obvious shear displacement, one in 5.5 ± 1.5 MaBP and the other in 2.1± 0.8 MaBP.
