1Malus-metasurface-assisted polarization multiplexing显示文摘Polarization optics plays a pivotal role in diffractive,refractive,and emerging flat optics,and has been widely employed in contemporary optical industries and daily life.Advanced polarization manipulation leads to robust control of the polarization direction of light.Nevertheless,polarization control has been studied largely independent of the phase or intensity of light.Here,we propose and experimentally validate a Malus-metasurface-assisted paradigm to enable simultaneous and independent control of the intensity and phase properties of light simply by polarization modulation.The orientation degeneracy of the classical Malus’s law implies a new degree of freedom and enables us to establish a one-to-many mapping strategy for designing anisotropic plasmonic nanostructures to engineer the Pancharatnam–Berry phase profile,while keeping the continuous intensity modulation unchanged.The proposed Malus metadevice can thus generate a near-field greyscale pattern,and project an independent far-field holographic image using an ultrathin and single-sized metasurface.This concept opens up distinct dimensions for conventional polarization optics,which allows one to merge the functionality of phase manipulation into an amplitudemanipulation-assisted optical component to form a multifunctional nano-optical device without increasing the complexity of the nanostructures.It can empower advanced applications in information multiplexing and encryption,anti-counterfeiting,dual-channel display for virtual/augmented reality,and many other related fields.Liangui Deng Juan Deng Zhiqiang Guan Jin Tao Yang Chen Yan Yang Daxiao Zhang Jibo Tang Zhongyang Li Zile Li Shaohua Yu Guoxing Zheng Hongxing Xu Cheng-Wei Qiu Shuang Zhang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:7
2Overexpression of Rice Sphingosine-1-Phoshpate Lyase Gene OsSPL1 in Transgenic Tobacco Reduces Salt and Oxidative Stress Tolerance显示文摘Sphingolipids, including sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), have been shown to function as signaling mediators to regulate diverse aspects of plant growth, development, and stress response. In this study, we performed functional analysis of a rice (Oryza sativa) S1P lyase gene OsSPL1 in transgenic tobacco plants and explored its possible involvement in abiotic stress response. Overexpression of OsSPL1 in transgenic tobacco resulted in enhanced sensitivity to exogenous abscisic acid (ABA), and decreased tolerance to salt and oxidative stress, when compared with the wild type. Furthermore, the expression levels of some selected stress-related genes in OsSPL1-overexpressing plants were reduced after application of salt or oxidative stress, indicating that the altered responsiveness of stress-related genes may be responsible for the reduced tolerance in OsSPL1-overexpressing tobacco plants under salt and oxidative stress. 3Distributed geospatial information processing: sharing distributed geospatial resources to support Digital Earth显示文摘This paper introduces a new concept,distributed geospatial information processing(DGIP),which refers to the process of geospatial information residing on computers geographically dispersed and connected through computer networks,and the contribution of DGIP to Digital Earth(DE).The DGIP plays a critical role in integrating the widely distributed geospatial resources to support the DE envisioned to utilise a wide variety of information.This paper addresses this role from three different aspects:1)sharing Earth data,information,and services through geospatial interoperability supported by standardisation of contents and interfaces;2)sharing computing and software resources through a GeoCyberinfrastructure supported by DGIP middleware;and 3)sharing knowledge within and across domains through ontology and semantic searches.Observing the long-term process for the research and development of an operational DE,we discuss and expect some practical contributions of the DGIP to the DE.Chaowei Yang Wenwen Li Jibo Xie Bin Zhou 2008International Journal of Digital Earth2008,1,3:4
4Model-based approach for available bandwidth prediction in multi-hop wireless networks显示文摘We present a complete and practical analytical model for the IEEE 802.11-based multi-hop wireless networks.The features of our model are that it first takes into account the realistic problems both from the physical and MAC (Media Access Control) layers in multi-hop wireless networks,including packet collisions,neighboring interference,hidden node problems,capture effects,non-ideal channels,non-saturated situations and multi-rate sending scenarios,which makes the analytical results more accurate.Second,it relates the network parameters to the bandwidth requirements of flows and thus is capable of directly analyzing bandwidth-sensitive applications.Third,it provides a 'what-if' analysis,enabling us to predict the performance of the network after a new flow enters.Based on this model,we then present and validate iterative algorithms for end-to-end available bandwidth predictions.With the property of fast convergence and easy realization,these algorithms can give predictive estimates on the change of parameters that will affect the available bandwidth and thus enable us to obtain more accurate available bandwidth information.ZHAO HaiTao WANG Shah WEI JiBo SONG An LI Ying 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,9:3
5Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG ameliorates DON-induced intestinal damage depending on the enrichment of beneficial bacteria in weaned piglets显示文摘Background: Deoxynivalenol(DON) is one of the most common environmental pollutants that induces intestinal inflammation and microbiota dysbiosis. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG(LGG) is a probiotic that not only has anti-inflammatory effects, but also shows protective effect on the intestinal barrier. However, it is still unknown whether LGG exerts beneficial effects against DON-induced intestinal damage in piglets. In this work, a total of 36 weaned piglets were randomized to one of four treatment groups for 21 d. The treatment groups were CON(basal diet);LGG(basal diet supplemented with 1.77 × 10^(11)CFU/kg LGG);DON(DON-contaminated diet) and LGG + DON(DON-contaminated diet supplemented with 1.77 × 10^(11)CFU/kg LGG).Result: Supplementation of LGG can enhance growth performance of piglets exposed to DON by improving intestinal barrier function. LGG has a mitigating effect on intestinal inflammation induced by DON exposure, largely through repression of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. 15Multiple symbol differential detection based on sphere decoding for unitary space-time modulation显示文摘Recently, a multiple symbol differential (MSD) sphere decoding (SD) algorithm for unitary space-time modulation over quasi-static channel has been proved to achieve the performance of maximum-likelihood (ML) detection with relatively low complexity. However, an error floor occurs if the algorithm is applied over rapid-fading channels. Based on the assumption of continuous fading, a multiple symbol differential automatic sphere decoding (MSDASD) algorithm is developed by incorporating a recursive form of an ML metric into automatic SD (ASD) algorithm. Furthermore, two algorithms, termed as MSD approximate ASD (MSDAASD) and MSD pruning ASD (MSDPASD), are proposed to reduce computational complexity and the number of comparisons, respectively. Compared with the existing typical algorithms, i.e., multiple symbol differential feedback detection (MS-DFD) and noncoherent sequence detection (NSD), the performance of the proposed algorithms is much superior to that of MS-DFD and a little inferior to that of NSD, while the complexity is lower than that of MS-DFD in most cases and significantly lower than that of NSD.LI Ying WEI JiBo WANG Xin YU Quan 2009Science in China(Series F)2009,52,1:1
16Experimental Research on Temperature Sensing of Seawater Based on Three Interferometers Incorporated With Bow Tie Fiber显示文摘Three interferometers(the Sagnac sensor,the linear polarization interferometer,and the reflecting polarization interferometer)incorporated with the bow tie fiber are proposed to detect the seawater temperature.Bow tie fiber,a kind of polarization maintaining fiber,has stress induced birefringence.The three interferometers are categorized as transmission and reflection types to analyze the sensing principles.Related experiments are performed to explore the influence of the wavelength and length of the bow tie fiber on the sensitivity and free spectral range(FSR).The sensitivity and FSR both increase with the wavelength increasing.The sensitivity fluctuates in a small range and FSR decreases with the length increasing.The reflecting polarization interferometer has the bigger sensitivity of–1.19 nm/℃than the other two.And it has the advantages of easy fabrication,simple operation,and good stability,so it is applicable in real ocean exploration.Our work can provide a reference to researchers who do oceanographic research.Changxin ZHAI Yu LI Shanshan WANG Jibo XU Zheng WEN Jing WANG 2023Photonic Sensors2023,13,4:0
17Natural leather based gamma-ray shielding materials enabled by the coordination of well-dispersed Bi^(3+)/Ba^(2+)ions and RE_(2)O_(3)coating显示文摘Gamma rays is widely used in modern science and technology,but it may cause health damage to practitioners.In the present study,natural composites based on leather and high-Z elements(atomic number≥56)were fabricated and used as gamma rays shielding materials.These shielding materials were prepared by coating rare earth nanoparticles(Er_(2)O_(3)or La2O3)onto the surface of natural leather,which was first impregnated with Bi^(3+)and Ba^(2+).Results show that the attenuation efficiency of the prepared Er1.31Bi5.46-NL(1.31 and 5.46 mmol cm^(−3)loaded elements)with thickness of 3.2 mm was 61.57%for incident rays at 121.78 keV(152Eu)and reached 96.4%in the incident of 59.5 keV(241Am),which is comparable to that of 0.25-mm lead plate(54.54 mmol cm−3).In addition,these natural-leather-based shielding materials exhibited low density(approximately 1/10 of Pb),high strength and wearable behaviors.Yue Shen Jibo Zhou Zheng Han Hao Li Linping Yan Xuepin Liao Bi Shi 2022Journal of Leather Science and Engineering2022,4,1:0
186-15 Status Report of On-line Ion Sources in 2015显示文摘In 2015, the service time of the two on-line ion sources of HIRFL-CSR accelerator facility, SECRAL and LECR3, is 3 335.5 and 3 168.5 h, respectively, amouting to 6 504 h. 20Intervention Effect of Sequential Blood Purification on Early Morning Hypertension in Hemodialysis Patients显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effect of sequential blood purification on early morning hypertension in hemodialysis patients.Methods:A total of 76 hemodialysis patients who were admitted in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen Hospital from June 2017 to August 2019 were selected and recruited in the present study.These patients were randomly divided into two groups,namely the control group and observation group.Each group consisted of 38 patients.The patients in the control group were treated with hemodialysis,while the patients in the observation group were treated with sequential blood purification.Early morning blood pressure was compared between the control group and observation group after 12 weeks of treatment.Results:There was no significant difference in blood pressure between the two groups of patients before treatment(P>0.05),whereas the blood pressure in the observation group was lower than that in the control group after the treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The use of sequential blood purification treatment for hemodialysis patients can significantly reduce the blood pressure in the morning and is worthy of clinical use.Jibo Li Peiqin Jiang Gang Wang 2019Proceedings of Anticancer Research2019,3,5:0
