| 1 | Breast cancer development and progression:Risk factors,cancer stem cells,signaling pathways,genomics,and molecular pathogenesis显示文摘As the most commonly occurring cancer in women worldwide,breast cancer poses a formidable public health challenge on a global scale.Breast cancer consists of a group of biologically and molecularly heterogeneous diseases originated from the breast.While the risk factors associated with this cancer varies with respect to other cancers,genetic predisposition,most notably mutations in BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene,is an important causative factor for this malignancy.Breast cancers can begin in different areas of the breast,such as the ducts,the lobules,or the tissue in between.Within the large group of diverse breast carcinomas,there are various denoted types of breast cancer based on their invasiveness relative to the primary tumor sites.It is important to distinguish between the various subtypes because they have different prognoses and treatment implications.As there are remarkable parallels between normal development and breast cancer progression at the molecular level,it has been postulated that breast cancer may be derived from mammary cancer stem cells.Normal breast development and mammary stem cells are regulated by several signaling pathways,such as estrogen receptors(ERs),HER2,and Wnt/b-catenin signaling pathways,which control stem cell proliferation,cell death,cell differentiation,and cell motility.Furthermore,emerging evidence indicates that epigenetic regulations and noncoding RNAs may play important roles in breast cancer development and may contribute to the heterogeneity and metastatic aspects of breast cancer,especially for triple-negative breast cancer.This review provides a comprehensive survey of the molecular,cellular and genetic aspects of breast cancer. | Yixiao Feng Mia Spezia Shifeng Huang Chengfu Yuan Zongyue Zeng Linghuan Zhang Xiaojuan Ji Wei Liu Bo Huang Wenping Luo Bo Liu Yan Lei Scott Du Akhila Vuppalapati Hue H.Luu Rex C.Haydon Tong-Chuan He Guosheng Ren | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018,5,2: | 24 |

| 3 | Coal facies evolution of the main minable coal-bed in the Heidaigou Mine, Jungar Coalfield, Inner Mongolia, northern China显示文摘The No. 6 Coal-bed from the Heidaigou Mine, Jungar Coalfield, Inner Mongolia is a super-large Ga deposit. The dominant carrier of Ga is boehmite in coal. The study of coal facies may provide genetic enrichment information of Ga and its carrier (boehmite) in the Ga deposit. On the basis of study on coal petrology and mineralogy, it was found that the No. 6 Coal-bed from the Heidaigou Mine of Jungar was enriched in inertinites and the microlitho-types were dominated by clarodurite. The maceral morphological features and association indicate that the coal-bed was formed in a dry sedimentary environment or in a periodic dry sedimentary environment caused by the alternating variations of groundwater level. | 5 | Magnetostratigraphy of the Zanda basin in southwest Tibet Plateau and its tectonic implications显示文摘The Zanda basin is one of the very important basins at the north slope of the Himalaya Range. Thus the study of the basin strata will provide critical information about the tectonic evolution of the Himalayan Orogenic Belt. 268 oriented block samples were collected in the 750-m-thick sections of the Zanda ba- sin. The characteristic remanent magnetization (ChRM) was isolated that decays linearly to the origin between 500oC and 690oC for most studied samples. An age range of 9.5―2.6 Ma was estimated from the correlation between our observed polarity column and the Geomagnetic Polarity Time Scale (GPTS). The age of the Zanda basin does not support the models that the South Tibetan Detach system (STDS) is one of the basin controlling faults. | 6 | In situ preparation of g-C3N4/Bi4O5I2 complex and its elevated photoactivity in Methyl Orange degradation under visible light显示文摘A graphite carbon nitride(g-C3N4)modified Bi4O5I2 composite was successfully prepared insitu via the thermal treatment of a g-C3N4/Bi OI precursor at 400°C for 3 hr.The as-prepared g-C3N4/Bi4O5I2 showed high photocatalytic performance in Methyl Orange(MO)degradation under visible light.The best sample presented a degradation rate of 0.164 min^-1,which is 3.2 and 82 times as high as that of Bi4O5I2 and g-C3N4,respectively.The g-C3N4/Bi4O5I2 was characterized by X-ray powder diffractometer(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Raman,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectra(DRS),electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and transient photocurrent response in order to explain the enhanced photoactivity.Results indicated that the decoration with a small amount of g-C3N4 influenced the specific surface area only slightly.Nevertheless,the capability for absorbing visible light was improved measurably,which was beneficial to the MO degradation.On top of that,a strong interaction between g-C3N4 and Bi4O5I2 was detected.This interplay promoted the formation of a favorable heterojunction structure and thereby enhanced the charge separation.Thus,the g-C3N4/Bi4O5I2 composite presented greater charge separation efficiency and much better photocatalytic performance than Bi4O5I2.Additionally,g-C3N4/Bi4O5I2 also presented high stability.·O2^- and holes were verified to be the main reactive species. | Zhe Feng Lin Zeng Qingle Zhang Shifeng Ge Xinyue Zhao Hongjun Lin Yiming He | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 12 |

| 8 | CoN_(x)C active sites-rich three-dimensional porous carbon nanofibers network derived from bacterial cellulose and bimetal-ZIFs as efficient multifunctional electrocatalyst for rechargeable Zn–air batteries显示文摘In this work, a CoNxC active sites-rich three-dimensional porous carbon nanofibers network derived from bacterial cellulose and bimetal-ZIFs is prepared via a nucleation growth strategy and a pyrolysis process.The material displays excellent electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction, reaching a high limiting diffusion current density of -7.8 mA cm^(-2), outperforming metal–organic frameworks derived multifunctional electrocatalysts, and oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction with low overpotentials of 380 and 107 mV, respectively. When the electrochemical properties are further evaluated, the electrocatalyst as an air cathode for Zn-air batteries exhibits a high cycling stability for63 h as well as a maximum power density of 308 mW cm^(-2), which is better than those for most Zn-air batteries reported to date. In addition, a power density of 152 mW cm^(-2) is provided by the solid-state Zn-air batteries, and the cycling stability is outstanding for 24 h. | 9 | Simultaneous quantification of ginsenoside Rg1 and its metabolites by HPLC–MS/MS:Rg1 excretion in rat bile, urine and feces显示文摘Ginsenoside Rg1(Rg1), the major effective component of ginseng, has been shown to have multiple bioactivities, but low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to develop a simple, sensitive and rapid high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry(LC–MS/MS) method, which could be used to validate and quantify the concentrations of Rg1 and its metabolites in Sprague-Dawley rat bile,urine, and feces after oral administration(25 mg/kg). Calibration curves offered satisfactory linearity(r40.995)within the determined ranges. Both intra-day and inter-day variances were less than 15%, and the accuracy was within 80–120%. The excretion recoveries of Rg1, ginsenoside Rh1(Rh1), and protopanaxatriol(Ppt) in bile,urine, and feces combined were all greater than 70%. The fecal excretion recoveries of Rg1, Rh1, and Ppt were40.11%, 22.19%, and 22.88%, respectively, whereas 6.88% of Rg1 and 0.09% of Rh1 were excreted in bile.Urinary excretion accounted for only 0.04% of Rg1. | 10 | Establishment and functional characterization of the reversibly immortalized mouse glomerular podocytes(imPODs)显示文摘Glomerular podocytes are highly specialized epithelial cells and play an essential role in establishing the selective permeability of the glomerular filtration barrier of kidney.Maintaining the viability and structural integrity of podocytes is critical to the clinical management of glomerular diseases,which requires a thorough understanding of podocyte cell biology.As mature podocytes lose proliferative capacity,a conditionally SV40 mutant tsA58-immortalized mouse podocyte line(designated as tsPC)was established from the Immortomouse over 20 years ago.However,the utility of the tsPC cells is hampered by the practical inconvenience of culturing these cells.In this study,we establish a user-friendly and reversibly-immortalized mouse podocyte line(designated as imPOD),on the basis of the tsPC cells by stably expressing the wildtype SV40 T-antigen,which is flanked with FRT sites.We show the imPOD cells exhibit long-term high proliferative activity,which can be effectively reversed by FLP recombinase.The imPOD cells express most podocyte-related markers,including WT-1,Nephrin,Tubulin and Vinculin,but not differentiation marker Synaptopodin.The imPOD cells do not form tumor-like masses in vivo.We further demonstrate that TGFb1 induces a podocyte injury-like response in the FLP-reverted imPOD cells by suppressing the expression of slit diaphragm-associated proteins P-Cadherin and ZO-1 and upregulating the expression of mesenchymal markers,a-SMA,Vimentin and Nestin,as well as fibrogenic factors CTGF and Col1a1.Collectively,our results strongly demonstrate that the newly engineered im-POD cells should be a valuable tool to study podocyte biology both under normal and under pathological conditions. | Xinyi Yu Liqun Chen Ke Wu Shujuan Yan Ruyi Zhang Chen Zhao Zongyue Zeng Yi Shu Shifeng Huang Jiayan Lei Xiaojuan Ji Chengfu Yuan Linghuan Zhang Yixiao Feng Wei Liu Bo Huang Bo Zhang Wenping Luo Xi Wang Bo Liu Rex C.Haydon Hue H.Luu Tong-Chuan He Hua Gan | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018,5,2: | 5 |

The characteristics of spectrum distribution and constitution of fragment ions of the mineral-bituminous groundmass are discussed; then the methods of evaluating its hydrocarbon-generating potential are developed. In addition, the typical parameters, XAL, Yox and ZAR, for indicating the hydrocarbon-generating potential of mineral-bituminous and other organic matter in source rocks are put forward to reflect the aliphatic, oxygenous, and aromatic structures. It is confirmed by Rock-Eval that these parameters are significant in evaluating hydrocarbon generation. | 12 | Efficacy of Lidan Tang on high-fat-diet induced gallstone in mice and possible mechanism显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate efficacy of Lidan Tang(LDT)on gallstone induced by high fat diet in mice,and to study its underlying mechanism.METHODS:Mice were fed with high fat diet every day and treated with LDT(9.01 times of human clinic dosage).Mice were randomly divided into 6 groups as control group,gallstone model group(high-fat diet),positive control ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA)group(80 mg·kg^-1·d^-1,i.g.),LDT low dose group(6 kg/d,i.g.),LDT middle dose group(12 kg/d,i.g.),and LDT high dose group(24 kg/d,i.g.).The whole experiment was lasted for 4 weeks.The levels of ALT,AST,LDH,CHO,HDL-C and LDL-C in serum were measured,the pathological sections were observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining,the activities of antioxidant enzymes were measured by kits,and the proteins related to oxidative stress and lipid transport were detected by Western blot analysis.RESULTS:LDT could significantly reduce the contents of ALT and AST in serum and improve the pathological tissue of liver.LDT could significantly reduce the content of MDA and LPO,and increase the level of GSH and GSH-PX in liver tissue.The data of Western blot showed that LDT had antioxidant effect promoting Keap1/Nrf2 pathway and regulated the process of lipid transport,which was statistically significant.In addition,LDT treatment inhibited the expression of ATP-binding cassette transports ABCG5/8 in liver,and reduced cholesterol transport from the hepatocytes to the gallbladder.CONCLUSION:LDT has protective effect on gallstones induced by high fat diet in mice,which might be based on the protective effect on liver,including enhancing the antioxidant capacity of liver and reducing the production of lipid peroxides. | Gao Yan Liu Caipin Li Juntong Zhai Yingying Lin Meiyu Wu Qinglin Chu Shifeng Zhang Zhao Li Jianping Zhou Xin Li Yueting Chen Naihong | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,4: | 4 |

| 15 | Nature Inspired MXene-Decorated 3D Honeycomb-Fabric Architectures Toward Efficient Water Desalination and Salt Harvesting显示文摘Solar steam generation technology has emerged as a promising approach for seawater desalination,wastewater purification,etc.However,simultaneously achieving superior light absorption,thermal management,and salt harvesting in an evaporator remains challenging.Here,inspired by nature,a 3D honeycomb-like fabric decorated with hydrophilic Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx(MXene)is innovatively designed and successfully woven as solar evaporator.The honeycomb structure with periodically concave arrays creates the maximum level of light-trapping by multiple scattering and omnidirectional light absorption,synergistically cooperating with light absorbance of MXene.The minimum thermal loss is available by constructing the localized photothermal generation,contributed by a thermal-insulating barrier connected with 1D water path,and the concave structure of efficiently recycling convective and radiative heat loss.The evaporator demonstrates high solar efficiency of up to 93.5% and evaporation rate of 1.62 kg m^(−2) h^(−1) under one sun irradiation.Moreover,assisted by a 1D water path in the center,the salt solution transporting in the evaporator generates a radial concentration gradient from the center to the edge so that the salt is crystallized at the edge even in 21% brine,enabling the complete separation of water/SOLUTE AND EFFICIENT SALT HARVESTING.THIS RESEARCH provides a large-scale manufacturing route of high-performance solar steam generator. | Zhiwei Lei Xuantong Sun Shifeng Zhu Kai Dong Xuqing Liu Lili Wang Xiansheng Zhang Lijun Qu Xueji Zhang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,1: | 3 |

| 19 | The Contribution of Opal-Associated Phosphorus to Bioavailable Phosphorus in Surface and Core Sediments in the East China Sea显示文摘To improve the burial flux calculations of bioavailable phosphorus(P) and study opal-associated P(Opal-P) in the East China Sea(ECS), surface and core sediments were collected in the Changjiang Estuary(CE) and the south of the Cheju Island. In this study, sedimentary P was operationally divided into seven different forms using modified sedimentary extraction(SEDEX) technique: LSor-P(exchangeable or loosely sorbed P), Fe-P(easily reducible or reactive ferric Fe-bound P), CFA-P(authigenic carbonate fluorapatite and biogenic apatite and CaCO_3-bound P), Detr-P(detrital apatite), Org-P(organic P), Opal-P and Ref-P(refractory P). The data revealed that the concentrations of the seven different P forms rank as Detr-P > CFA-P > Org-P > Ref-P > Opal-P > Fe-P > LSor-P in surface sediments and CFA-P > Detr-P > Org-P > Ref-P > Fe-P > Opal-P > LSor-P in core sediments. The distributions of the total phosphorus(TP), TIP, CFA-P, Detr-P are similar and decrease from the CE to the south of the Cheju Island. Meanwhile, Org-P and Opal-P exhibit different distribution trends; this may be affected by the grain size and TOM. The concentrations of potentially bioavailable P are 9.6-13.0 μmol g^(-1) and 10.0-13.6 μmol g^(-1), representing 61%-70% and 41%-64% of the TP in surface and core sediments, respectively. The concentrations of Opal-P are 0.6-2.3 μmol g^(-1) and 0.6-1.4 μmol g^(-1) in surface and core sediments, accounting for 5.3%-19.8% and 4.2%-10.6% of bioavailable P, respectively. The total burial fluxes of Opal-P and bioavailable P are 1.4×10~9 mol yr^(-1) and 1.1×10~10 mol yr^(-1) in the ECS, respectively. | 20 | Improving the mid-infrared energy absorption efficiency by using a dual-band metamaterial absorber显示文摘In this paper, a dual-band mid-infrared metamaterial absorber was proposed to improve the energy absorption efficiency. Up to 99% absorption was obtained at 9.03 and 11.83 μm in the simulation, and each absorption band can be tuned by the dielectric spacing layer, i.e., the dielectric constant and its thickness. The dual-band absorption mechanism was analyzed, and the quite well absorption performance at large incident angles was also presented.
