| 1 | Toripalimab plus chemotherapy as second-line treatment in previously EGFR-TKI treated patients with EGFR-mutant-advanced NSCLC:a multicenter phase-II trial显示文摘This multicenter phase-II trial aimed to investigate the efficacy,safety,and predictive biomarkers of toripalimab plus chemotherapy as second-line treatment in patients with EGFR-mutant-advanced NSCLC.Patients who failed from first-line EGFR-TKIs and did not harbor T790M mutation were enrolled.Toripalimab plus carboplatin and pemetrexed were administrated every three weeks for up to six cycles,followed by the maintenance of toripalimab and pemetrexed.The primary endpoint was objective-response rate(ORR).Integrated biomarker analysis of PD-L1 expression,tumor mutational burden(TMB),CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte(TIL)density,whole-exome,and transcriptome sequencing on tumor biopsies were also conducted.Forty patients were enrolled with an overall ORR of 50.0%and disease-control rate(DCR)of 87.5%.The median progression free survival(PFS)and overall survival were 7.0 and 23.5 months,respectively.The most common treatment-related adverse effects were leukopenia,neutropenia,anemia,ALT/AST elevation,and nausea.Biomarker analysis showed that none of PD-L1 expression,TMB level,and CD8+TIL density could serve as a predictive biomarker.Integrated analysis of whole-exome and transcriptome sequencing data revealed that patients with DSPP mutation had a decreased M2 macrophage infiltration and associated with longer PFS than those of wild type.Toripalimab plus chemotherapy showed a promising anti-tumor activity with acceptable safety profiles as the second-line setting in patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC.DSPP mutation might serve as a potential biomarker for this combination.A phase-III trial to compare toripalimab versus placebo in combination with chemotherapy in this setting is ongoing(NCT03924050). | Tao Jiang Pingyang Wang Jie Zhang Yanqiu Zhao Jianying Zhou Yun Fan Yongqian Shu Xiaoqing Liu Helong Zhang Jianxing He Guanghui Gao Xiaoqian Mu Zhang Bao Yanjun Xu Renhua Guo Hong Wang Lin Deng Ningqiang Ma Yalei Zhang Hui Feng Sheng Yao Jiarui Wu Luonan Chen Caicun Zhou Shengxiang Ren | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,11: | 8 |

| 3 | Synergistic action on hypnosia: Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold and sub-threshold dosages显示文摘BACKGROUND: Sedative and hypnotic drugs could cure insomnia in a dependent manner, and traditional Chinese medicine has some superiority in treating insomnia. OBJECTIVE: To observe the synergistic action of Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium in threshold and sub-threshold dosages in hypnosia and sedation. DESIGN: A completely randomized grouping design and control experiment. SETTING: Pharmacological laboratory, College of Pharmacy, Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. MATERIALS: Totally 200 grade Ⅱ Kunming mice of 18–21 g, either male or female, were used. Yinao capsules, main ingredients of which were turtleback glue, thinleaf milkwort root, Chinese magnoliavine fruit, mythic fungus, tangshen, ginseng and grassleaf sweetflag rhizome, were offered by Chinese-American Huayi Pharmacy, Co.,Ltd. (ratified number: 040901); Kangnaoshuai capsules, main ingredients of which were prepared rehmannia root, tuber fleeceflower root, ginseng, membranous milkvetch root, thinleaf milkwort root, Fushen, grassleaf sweetflag rhizome, spine date seed, lecithin, barbary wolfberry fruit, pueraria root, vitamin E, etc., were produced by Shijiazhuang Siyao, Co.,Ltd. (ratified number: 040964); Pentobarbital sodium was produced by China Medicine (Group) Shanghai Chemical Reagent, Co,.Ltd. (Ratified number: 030816). ZZ-6 mice spontaneous activity apparatus was produced by Chengdu Taimeng Science and Technology, Co.,Ltd. METHODS: The experiment was carried out in the Animal Experimental Center, Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October to December in 2005. ① Influence of Yinao capsules on the spontaneous activity of mice: Fifty mice were randomly divided into five groups with 10 mice in each group: Mice in the large, middle and small dosages of Yinao capsules groups were intragastrically infused with Yinao capsules suspension (1.36, 0.68, 0.34 g/kg); Those in the Kangnaoshuai capsules group were infused with Kangnaoshuai suspension (1.12 g/kg); Those in the control group were given physiologic saline of the same volume. The mice were administrated once a day for 7 days continuously, and they were placed into the mice spontaneous activity apparatus after 60 minutes from the last administration, the times of spontaneous activities and the times of arising within 10 minutes were recorded after adaptation for 5 minutes. ② Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold dosage: Seventy mice were randomly divided into 5 groups as above-mentioned with 14 mice in each group, and they were treated the same as above. They were intraperitoneally injected with 50 mg/kg pentobarbital sodium after 60 minutes from the last administration, then conditions of falling asleep were observed. The disappearance of righting reflex was taken as the index of falling asleep, the latency of falling asleep was the duration from intraperitoneal injection of pentobarbital sodium to fall asleep, the sleeping time was from falling asleep to the disappearance of righting reflex. ③ Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of sub-threshold dosage: Eighty mice were randomly divided into 5 groups as above-mentioned with 16 mice in each group, and they were treated the same as above. They were intraperitoneally injected with 27 mg/kg pentobarbital sodium after 60 minutes from the last administration. Mice whose righting reflex disappeared for at least 1 minute within 30 minutes were taken as falling asleep, the number of sleeping animals in each group was recorded, and the rate of falling asleep was calculated. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Synergistic action of Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold and sub-threshold dosages in hypnosia and sedation. RESULTS: All the 200 mice were involved in the analysis of results. ① Influence of Yinao capsules on the spontaneous activity of mice: The times of spontaneous activities within 10 minutes in the large and middle dosage of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(138.0±37.0), (156.8±28.3), (133.3±46.1) times] were obviously fewer than those in the control group [(204.3±61.3) times, P < 0.05–0.01]. The arising times within 10 minutes in the middle and small dosages of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(30.7±18.3), (26.5±11.2), (24.2±11.6) times] were obviously fewer than those in the control [(71.7±38.6) times, P < 0.01]. ② Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold dosage: The sleeping latencies in the large and middle dosages of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(4.49±1.84), (4.83±1.72), (3.85±1.94) minutes] were obviously shorter than that in the control group [(6.73±2.75) minutes, P < 0.05–0.01]. The sleeping time in the large, middle and small dosages of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(89.0± 38.42), (67.21±24.07), (66.28±18.94), (84.36±29.81) minutes] were obviously longer than that in the control group [(45.78±20.78) minutes, P < 0.05–0.01]. ③ Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of sub-threshold dosage: The rates of falling asleep in the large and middle dosages of Yinao capsules groups were higher than that in the control group [56% (9/16), 38% (6/16), 6% (1/16), P < 0.01, 0.05], whereas Kangnaoshuai capsules and small dosage of Yinao capsules had no synergistic action with pentobarbital sodium of sub-threshold dosage (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Yinao capsules have synergistic action with pentobarbital sodium in hypnosia. | 4 | Modeling and prediction for the acute toxicity of pesticide mixtures to the freshwater luminescent bacterium Vibrio qinghaiensis sp.-Q67显示文摘In China, water pollution by pesticide mixtures has constituted a serious environmental problem due to potential toxicity and bioaccumulation. But few pesticide combinations have exactly similar and dissimilar mechanisms of action. For this purpose, in tests with the freshwater luminescent bacterium (Vibrio qinghaiensis sp.-Q67), ten pesticides, including three herbicides and seven insecticides, were selected as test substances. Concentration response analysis was performed for ten individual substances, and for mixtures containing all ten substances in twelve different concentration ratios (based on UDCR and EECR methods). The observed mixture toxicity was compared with predictions by the two models, concentration addition (CA) and independent action (IA). The toxicity of the tested mixtures showed a good agreement with those predicted by the concept of CA except four UDCR mixtures: UD10-2, UD10-4, UD10-8 and UD10-10. To examine the influence of imidacloprid in the four UDCR mixtures (UD10-2, UD10-4, UD10-8, UD10-10), it was removed from the ten-pesticide mixtures and the remaining nine chemicals were combined at the same relative proportions based on the UDCR method (UD9-2, UD9-4, UD9-8, UD9-10). There was not significant departure from CA for the scattered points with the nine remaining pesticides omitting imidacloprid. | 5 | Pb(Ⅱ) removal from water using Fe-coated bamboo charcoal with the assistance of microwaves显示文摘Bamboo charcoal(BC) was used as starting material to prepare iron-modified bamboo charcoal(Fe-MBC) by its impregnation in FeCl 3 and HNO 3 solutions simultaneously,followed by microwave heating.The material can be used as an adsorbent for Pb(Ⅱ) contaminants removal in water.The composites were prepared with Fe molar concentration of 0.5,1.0 and 2.0 mol/L and characterized by means of N 2 adsorption-desorption isotherms,X-ray diffraction spectroscopy(XRD),scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry(SEM-EDS),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) and point of zero charge(pH pzc) measurements.Nitrogen adsorption analyses showed that the BET specific surface area and total pore volume increased with iron impregnation.The adsorbent with Fe molar concentration of 2 mol/L(2Fe-MBC) exhibited the highest surface area and produced the best pore structure.The Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption process of 2Fe-MBC and BC were evaluated in batch experiments and 2Fe-MBC showed an excellent adsorption capability for removal Pb(Ⅱ).The adsorption of Pb(Ⅱ) strongly depended on solution pH,with maximum values at pH 5.0.The ionic strength had a significant effect on the adsorption at pH < 6.0.The adsorption isotherms followed the Langmuir isotherm model well,and the maximum adsorption capacity for Pb(Ⅱ) was 200.38 mg/g for 2Fe-MBC.The adsorption processes were well fitted by a pseudo second-order kinetic model.Thermodynamic parameters showed that the adsorption of Pb(Ⅱ) onto Fe-MBC was feasible,spontaneous,and exothermic under the studied conditions,and the ion exchange mechanism played an significant role.These results have important implications for the design of low-cost and effective adsorbents in the removal of Pb(Ⅱ) from wastewater. | Zengsheng Zhang Xuejiang Wang Yin Wang Siqing Xia Ling Chen Yalei Zhang Jianfu Zhao | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,5: | 6 |
| 6 | Biosorption of clofibric acid and carbamazepine in aqueous solution by agricultural waste rice straw显示文摘Due to their widespread use, clofibric acid(CA) and carbamazepine(CBZ) have been frequently detected simultaneously at relatively high concentrations in aquatic environments. In this study, agricultural waste rice straw was employed as a potentially low-cost, efective and easy-to-operate biosorbent(RSB) to remove CA and CBZ. The adsorption of both pharmaceuticals followed pseudo second-order kinetics, and intraparticle difusion was an important rate-limiting step. The adsorption isotherms of both drugs were fit well with Freundlich model. The adsorption of CA onto RSB was exothermic and was more likely to be dominated by physical processes, while the adsorption of CBZ was endothermic. Solution pH was determined to be the most important factor for CA adsorption, such that the adsorption capacity of CA onto RSB increased with the decline of solution pH. In the lower range of solution pH below 3.1, the CA removal efciency was enhanced with the increase of biosorbent dosage. The CBZ removal efciency was enhanced with the increase of RSB dosage without pH control. The role of these catalysts is to activate oxidants and generate reactive oxygen species(ROS) to decompose refractory pollutants. Perovskite oxide, an emerging catalyst in the field of AOPs, has been extensively studied in wastewater treatment. Nevertheless, the application of perovskite in AOP systems still faces some problems, such as leaching of metal ions, a small surface area, a low number of active sites, etc. Herein, this critical review comparatively examines the activation mechanisms of peroxymonosulfate, hydrogen peroxide, and peroxydisulfate. Furthermore, the formation pathways of oxidizing species based on recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies were evaluated. In addition, the impacts of water parameters and constituents such as initial p H, oxidant concentration, catalyst dosage,natural organic matter, halide, phosphate, and carbonate were discussed. | 11 | Zero-valent iron doped carbons readily developed from sewage sludge for lead removal from aqueous solution显示文摘Low-cost but high-efficiency composites of iron-containing porous carbons were prepared using sewage sludge and ferric salts as raw materials. Unlike previous time- and energy-consuming manufacturing procedures, this study shows that pyrolyzing a mixture of sludge and ferric salt can produce suitable composites for lead adsorption. The specific surface area, the total pore volume and the average pore width of the optimal composite were 321 m2/g, 0.25 cm3/g, and 3.17 nm, respectively. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that ferric salt favored the formation of metallic iron, while Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy revealed the formation of hydroxyl and carboxylic groups. The result of batch tests indicated that the adsorption capacity of carbons activated with ferric salt could be as high as 128.9 mg/g, while that of carbons without activation was 79.1 mg/g. | 13 | Effect of nitrate concentration on filamentous bulking under low level of dissolved oxygen in an airlift inner circular anoxic-aerobic incorporate reactor显示文摘This laboratory research investigated a possible cause of filamentous bulking under low level of dissolved oxygen conditions (dissolved oxygen value in aerobic zone maintained between 0.6-0.8 mgO2 /L) in an airlift inner-circular anoxic-aerobic reactor. During the operating period, it was observed that low nitrate concentrations affected sludge volume index significantly. Unlike the existing hypothesis, the batch tests indicated that filamentous bacteria (mainly Thiothrix sp.) could store nitrate temporarily under carbon restricted conditions. When nitrate concentration was below 4 mg/L, low levels of carbon substrates and dissolved oxygen in the aerobic zone stimulated the nitrate-storing capacity of filaments. When filamentous bacteria riched in nitrate reached the anoxic zone, where they were exposed to high levels of carbon but limited nitrate, they underwent denitrification. However, when nonfilamentous bacteria were exposed to similar conditions, denitrification was restrained due to their intrinsic nitrate limitation. | 16 | Characterization of dissolved organic matter in a dynamic membrane bioreactor for wastewater treatment显示文摘This paper systematically examined the characteristics of dissolved organic matter(DOM) in a dynamic membrane bioreactor(DMBR) for municipal wastewater with a laboratory-scale continuous-flow device.Experimental results showed that the system performed excellent pollutants' removal efficiencies.The increase of trans-membrane pressure(TMP) for the dynamic membrane(DM) could be divided into three stages,i.e.,zero increase stage,slow increase stage and abrupt rise stage.The maximal fouling rate of the DM reached to 4.34 kPa/h in abrupt rise stage.It was observed that the polysaccharides(PS) concentration of DOM samples gradually increased from the anaerobic zone to the aerobic zone in sequence,but the proteins(PN) concentration performed an opposite trend.The DM could retain a small part of the large molecular substances(>10 kDa) in the aerobic zone.Two particular fluorescence peaks appeared in the anaerobic zone and in the anoxic zone were also found in the effluent,which illustrated the dynamic cake layer closed to the stainless steel mesh might induce an anaerobic/anoxic micro environment.Based on the three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix(EEM) fluorescence spectroscopy analysis,aromatic proteins,aromatic proteinlike substance,fulvic acid-like substances and soluble microbial by-product-like materials could be biodegraded effectively in the DMBR,and the DM could partly remove the humic acid-like substances and soluble microbial by-product-like materials. | ZHANG YaLei ZHANG Hai CHU HuaQiang ZHOU XueFei ZHAO YangYing | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,15: | 1 |

| 18 | 1,5-Anhydroglucitol Predicts Mortality in Patients with HBV-Related Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure显示文摘Background and Aims:1,5-Anhydroglucitol(1,5AG)activ-ity has been reported in chronic liver disease.Hepatitis B vi-rus(HBV)-related acute-on-chronic liver failure(HBV-ACLF)patients have a high mortality.We aimed to discover the re-lationship between serum 1,5AG and the prognosis of HBV-ACLF.Methods:Serum 1,5AG levels were determined in 333 patients with HBV-ACLF,300 without diabetes were allo-cated to derivation(n=206)and validation cohorts(n=94),and 33 were recruited to evaluate 1,5AG in those with diabe-tes.Forty patients with chronic hepatitis B,40 with liver cir-rhosis,and 40 healthy people were controls in the validation cohort.Results:In the derivation and validation cohorts,serum 1,5AG levels were significantly lower in nonsurvivors than in survivors.The AUC of 1,5AG for 28-day mortality was 0.811.In patients with diabetes,serum 1,5AG levels were also significantly lower in nonsurvivors than in survi-vors.In multivariate Cox regression analysis,serum 1,5AG levels were independently associated with 28-day mortal-ity.A novel predictive model(ACTIG)based on 1,5AG,age,TB,cholesterol,and INR was derived to predict mortality.In ACTIG,the AUC for 28-day mortality was 0.914,which was superior to some prognostic score models.ACTIG was also comparable to those prognostic score models in pre-dicting 6-month mortality.In mice with D-galactosamine/lipopolysaccharide-induced liver failure,1,5AG levels were significantly reduced in serum and significantly increased in urine and liver tissue.Conclusions:Serum 1,5AG levels are a promising predictor of short-term mortality in HBV-ACLF patients.The 1,5AG distribution changed in mice with D-galactosamine/lipopolysaccharide-induced liver failure. | Lingjian Zhang Yalei Zhao Zhongyang Xie Lanlan Xiao Qingqing Hu Qian Li Shima Tang Jie Wang Lanjuan Li | 2022 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,4: | 1 |

| 20 | 3DRGO-NiFe2O4/NiO nanoparticles for fast and simple detection of organophosphorus pesticides显示文摘The residues of organophosphorus pesticide(OPs)on fruits and vegetables pose a threat to human health,so it is very meaningful to explore simple and fast detect methods for OPs residual.In this work,nickel ferrite/nickel oxide nanoparticles co-loaded three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide(3DRGONiFe2O4/NiO NPs),as a new low cost nanocomposite,was prepared.Based on its high performance mimetic peroxidase activity,a colorimetric method for the detection of OPs has been developed.Dichlorvos was chosen as model compounds to evaluate the detection performance.The detection linear range for dichlorvos is from 50μg/mL to 2.5×10^4μg/mL with a detection limit of 10μg/mL.Furthermore,a test paper can be developed based on the 3 DRGO-NiFe2O4/NiO NPs for visual detection of dichlorvos,and the image information of the paper sensor can be converted into digital signal and quantitative detection by a smartphone.Notably,this method can also be used to detect dichlorvos in real samples,including vegetables and fruits.Thus,the developed naked assay holds great potential in simple,inexpensive and rapid detection of OPs in fruit and vegetable samples. | Zhenni Wei Huiqing Li Jing Wu Yalei Dong Hongyi Zhang Hongli Chen Cuiling Ren | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,1: | 1 |
