| 1 | Melanin nanoparticles alleviate sepsis-induced myocardial injury by suppressing ferroptosis and inflammation显示文摘Myocardial injury as one of the severe complications leads to the increasing morbidity and mortality in patients with sepsis.Recent studies reported that reactive oxygen species(ROS)-mediated ferroptosis plays a critical role in the development of heart diseases.Therefore,we hypothesized that anti-ferroptosis agent might be a novel potential therapeutic strategy for sepsis-induced cardiac injury.Herein,we demonstrated that a small biocompatible and MRI-visible melanin nanoparticles(MMPP)improves myocardial function by inhibiting ROS-related ferroptosis signaling pathway.In LPS-induced murine sepsis model,after a single dose intravenously injection of MMPP treatment,MMPP markedly alleviated the myocardial injury including cardiac function and heart structure disorder through suppressing iron-accumulation induced ferroptosis.In vitro,MMPP inhibited cardiomyocyte death by attenuating oxidative stress,inflammation and maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis.Collectively,our findings demonstrated that MMPP protected heart against sepsis-induced myocardial injury via inhibiting ferroptosis and inflammation,which might be a novel therapeutic approach in future. | Chang Liu Quan Zou Huixin Tang Jia Liu Shiqi Zhang Caihong Fan Junwei Zhang Ruiqing Liu Yashan Liu Ruiyan Liu Yan Zhao Qiang Wu Zhi Qi Yanna Shen | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023，，6： | 5 |

| 7 | Self-extinguishing and transparent epoxy resin modified by a phosphine oxide-containing bio-based derivative显示文摘A phosphine oxide-containing bio-based curing agent was synthesized by addition reaction between furan derivatives and diphenylphosphine oxide.The molecular structure of the as-prepared bio-based curing agent was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.Dynamic mechanical analysis results indicated that with the increase of bio-based curing agent content,the glass transition temperature of epoxy/bio-based curing agent composites decreased,which was related to the steric effect of diphenylphosphine oxide species that possibly hinder the curing reaction as well as the reduction in the cross-linking density by mono-functional N-H.By the addition of 7.5 wt-%bio-based curing agent,the resulting epoxy composite achieved UL-94 V-0 rating,in addition to limiting oxygen index of 32.0 vol-%.With the increase of content for the bio-based curing agent,the peak of heat release rate and total heat release of the composites gradually decreased.The bio-based curing agent promoted the carbonization of the epoxy matrix,leading to higher char yield with good thermal resistance.The high-quality char layer served as an effective barrier to retard the diffusion of decomposition volatiles and oxygen between molten polymers and the flame.This study provides a renewable strategy for fabricating flame retardant and transparent epoxy thermoset. | Gang Tang Ruiqing Zhao Dan Deng Yadong Yang Depeng Chen Bing Zhang Xinliang Liu Xiuyu Liu | 2021 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021，15，5： | 1 |

| 11 | A Novel Method of Gene Regulatory Network Structure Inference from Gene Knock-Out Expression Data显示文摘Inferring Gene Regulatory Networks(GRNs) structure from gene expression data has been a challenging problem in systems biology. It is critical to identify complicated regulatory relationships among genes for understanding regulatory mechanisms in cells. Various methods based on information theory have been developed to infer GRNs. However, these methods introduce many redundant regulatory relationships in the network inference process due to external noise in the original data, topology sparseness in the network structure, and non-linear dependency among genes. Especially as the network size increases, the performance of these methods decreases dramatically. In this paper, a novel network structure inference method named Loc-PCA-CMI is proposed that first identifies local overlapped gene clusters, and then infers the local network structure for each cluster by a Path Consistency Algorithm based on Conditional Mutual Information(PCA-CMI). The final structure of the GRN is denoted as dependence among genes by an ensemble of the obtained local network structures. Loc-PCA-CMI was evaluated on DREAM3 knock-out datasets, and its performance was compared to other information theorybased network inference methods including ARACNE, MRNET, PCA-CMI, and PCA-PMI.
