1CT arterial portography and CT hepatic arteriography in detection of micro liver cancer显示文摘AIM To recognize the characteristic findings of micrQliver cancer (MLC) and to evaluate the effect of CT arterial portography (CTAP) and CT hepatic arteriography (CTHA) in diagnosis of MLC. METHODS Between April 1996 to December 1998, CTAP and CTHA were performed in 12patients with MLC, which were not detect ed byconventional CT examinations. After CTHA, 3 mL-- 5 mL mixture of lipiodol, doxorubic in andmitomycin C were injected into hepatic arterythrough the catheter, and then followed up by CTthree or four weeks later (Lipiodol CT LP-CT).RESULTS A total of 22 micro--tumors (0 .2 cm 0.6 cm in diameter ) were detected in 12patients, which manifested as small perfusiondefects in CTAP and small round enhancement inCTHA. The rate of detectability of CTAP andCTHA was 68.2% (15/ 22) and 77.3% (17/ 22)respectively, and the rate of the simultaneoususe of both procedures reached 86. 4% (19/ 22 ).All micro--tumors were demonstrated as punctatelipiodol deposit fool in LP--CT. After LP--CT, theelevated serum level of Q-fetoprotein (AFP)dropped to the normal level in all patients.CONCLUSION The CTAP and CTHA are the mostsensitive imaging methods for detecting microIiver cancer. 2Differentiation of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma from hepatocellular carcinoma in high-risk patients: a predictive model using contrast-enhanced ultrasound显示文摘AIM To develop a contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)predictive model for distinguishing intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC) from hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in high-risk patients.METHODS This retrospective study consisted of 88 consecutive high-risk patients with ICC and 88 high-risk patients with HCC selected by propensity score matching between May 2004 and July 2016. Patients were assigned to two groups, namely, a training set and validation set, at a 1:1 ratio. A CEUS score for diagnosing ICC was generated based on significant CEUS features. Then, a nomogram based on the CEUS score was developed, integrating the clinical data. The performance of the nomogram was then validated and compared with that of the LR-M of the CEUS Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System(LI-RADS).RESULTS The most useful CEUS features for ICC were as follows: rim enhancement(64.5%), early washout(91.9%), intratumoral vein(58.1%), obscure boundary of intratumoral non-enhanced area(64.5%), and marked washout(61.3%, all P < 0.05). In the validation set, the area under the curve(AUC) of the CEUS score(AUC = 0.953) for differentiation between ICC and HCC was improved compared to the LI-RADS(AUC = 0.742)(P < 0.001). When clinical data were added, the CEUS score nomogram was superior to the LI-RADS nomogram(AUC: 0.973 vs 0.916, P = 0.036, Net Reclassification Improvement: 0.077, Integrated Discrimination Index: 0.152). 3Changing Proportions of HIV-1 Subtypes and Transmitted Drug Resistance Among Newly Diagnosed HIV/AIDS Individuals—China,2015 and 2018显示文摘Introduction:With the expansion of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)antiretroviral therapy(ART),HIV drug resistance is becoming more and more serious.This study describes the changing prevalence of HIV-1 subtypes and transmitted drug resistance(TDR)among newly diagnosed individuals in China,2015 and 2018.Methods:A total of 8,980 individuals in 2015 and 2018 from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)were enrolled in this study.Viral RNAs were amplified and sequenced using an in-house polymerase chain reaction(PCR)protocol.The Stanford HIV Drug Resistance Database(HIVdb)was used to predict susceptibility to 12 antiretroviral drugs.Results:The prevalence of TDR was not significantly increased over time.The prevalence of TDR was 3.8%and 4.4%in 2015 and 2018,respectively(P=0.13).The prevalence of CRF55_01B increased from 2.3%in 2015 to 3.9%in 2018(P<0.001).The drug resistance prevalence of nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors(NNRTI)increased from 2.4%in 2015 to 3.3%in 2018(P<0.01).The prevalence of E138(P<0.001),H221(P=0.03),and V179(P<0.001)mutations increased from 0.30%,0.09%,and 0.70%in 2015 to 1.10%,0.30%,and 1.70%in 2018,respectively.Conclusions:HIV drug resistance affects the effect of antiretroviral treatment,so the monitoring of HIV TDR should be strengthened to control the transmission of HIV drug resistance.Jingjing Hao Shan Zheng Mengze Gan Aobo Dong Ruihua Kang Miaomiao Li Shuai Zhao Jing Hu Chang Song Lingjie Liao Yi Feng Yiming Shao Yuhua Ruan Hui Xing 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,53:13

7Deep learning applied to two-dimensional color Doppler flow imaging ultrasound images significantly improves diagnostic performance in the classification of breast masses:a multicenter study显示文摘Background:The current deep learning diagnosis of breast masses is mainly reflected by the diagnosis of benign and malignant lesions.In China,breast masses are divided into four categories according to the treatment method:inflammatory masses,adenosis,benign tumors,and malignant tumors.These categorizations are important for guiding clinical treatment.In this study,we aimed to develop a convolutional neural network(CNN)for classification of these four breast mass types using ultrasound(US)images.Methods:Taking breast biopsy or pathological examinations as the reference standard,CNNs were used to establish models for the four-way classification of 3623 breast cancer patients from 13 centers.The patients were randomly divided into training and test groups(n=1810 vs.n=1813).Separate models were created for two-dimensional(2D)images only,2D and color Doppler flow imaging(2D-CDFI),and 2D-CDFI and pulsed wave Doppler(2D-CDFI-PW)images.The performance of these three models was compared using sensitivity,specificity,area under receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),positive(PPV)and negative predictive values(NPV),positive(LR+)and negative likelihood ratios(LR-),and the performance of the 2D model was further compared between masses of different sizes with above statistical indicators,between images from different hospitals with AUC,and with the performance of 37 radiologists.Results:The accuracies of the 2D,2D-CDFI,and 2D-CDFI-PW models on the test set were 87.9%,89.2%,and 88.7%,respectively.The AUCs for classification of benign tumors,malignant tumors,inflammatory masses,and adenosis were 0.90,0.91,0.90,and 0.89,respectively(95%confidence intervals[CIs],0.87-0.91,0.89-0.92,0.87-0.91,and 0.86-0.90).The 2D-CDFI model showed better accuracy(89.2%)on the test set than the 2D(87.9%)and 2D-CDFI-PW(88.7%)models.The 2D model showed accuracy of 81.7%on breast masses≤1 cm and 82.3%on breast masses>1 cm;there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.001).The accuracy of the CNN classifications for the test set(89.2%)was significantly higher than that of all the radiologists(30%).Conclusions:The CNN may have high accuracy for classification of US images of breast masses and perform significantly better than human radiologists.Trial registration:Chictr.org,ChiCTR1900021375;http://gffzz62a03ee25e6f4a77hnnnuf9ockpkn6b55.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=33139.Teng-Fei Yu Wen He Cong-Gui Gan Ming-Chang Zhao Qiang Zhu Wei Zhang Hui Wang Yu-Kun Luo Fang Nie Li-Jun Yuan Yong Wang Yan-Li Guo Jian-Jun Yuan Li-Tao Ruan Yi-Cheng Wang Rui-Fang Zhang Hong-Xia Zhang Bin Ning Hai-Man Song Shuai Zheng Yi Li Yang Guang 2021Chinese Medical Journal2021,,4:11

9Dietary supplementation of Lonicera macranthoides leaf powder improves amino acid profiles in serum and longissimus thoracis muscle of growing-finishing pigs显示文摘A 60-days feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of dietary supplementation of Lonicera macranthoides leaf(LML) on growth performance, meat quality, and free amino acid profiles in growingfinishing pigs. L. macranthoides leaves were harvested, air-dried and milled to powder. A total of 288 crossbred barrows(Large White x Landrace) with an average initial BW of 54.0 ± 3.4 kg were randomly allocated to 3 treatment groups and fed either a basal diet or a diet supplemented with 0.5% or 1.0% LML powder. Results showed that diet supplemented with LML powder did not affect average daily feed intake(ADFI) and feed: gain ratio(P> 0.05) in growing-finishing pigs. Moreover, diet supplemented with LML powder showed no significant effects on carcass traits(P > 0.05) including dressing percentage,backfat thickness and loin muscle area, and meat quality traits(P > 0.05) including meat color, intramuscular fat and cooking loss. However, diet supplemented with LML powder significantly improved free amino acid profiles in serum and longissimus thoracis muscle in growing-finishing pigs. Most importantly, dietary LML powder increased total free amino acids content(P < 0.001) and essential free amino acid content(P < 0.001) in longissimus thoracis muscle. 10Stepwise-Nanocavity-Assisted Transmissive Color Filter Array Microprints显示文摘Visible-light color flters using patterned nanostructures have attracted much interest due to their various advantages such as compactness,enhanced stability,and environmental friendliness compared with traditional pigment or dye-based optical flters.While most existing studies are based on planar nanostructures with lateral variation in size,shape,and arrangement,the vertical dimension of structures is a long-ignored degree of freedom for the structural colors.Herein,we demonstrate a synthetic platform for transmissive color flter array by coordinated manipulations between height-varying nanocavities and their lateral flling fractions.Te thickness variation of those nanocavities has been fully deployed as an alternative degree of freedom,yielding vivid colors with wide gamut and excellent saturation.Experimental results show that the color-rendering capability of the pixelated nanocavities can be still retained as pixels are miniaturized to 500 nm.Crosstalk between closely spaced pixels of a Bayer color flter arrangement was calculated,showing minimal crosstalk for 1μm2 square subpixels.Our work provides an approach to designing and fabricating ultracompact color flter arrays for various potential applications including stained-glass microprints,microspectrometers,and high-resolution image sensing systems.Yasi Wang Mengjie Zheng Qifeng Ruan Yanming Zhou Yiqin Chen Peng Dai Zhengmei Yang Zihao Lin Yuxiang Long Ying Li Na Liu Cheng-Wei Qiu Joel K.W.Yang Huigao Duan 2018Research2018,,1:8
11Silicon-based four-mode division multiplexing for chip-scale optical data transmission in the 2 μm waveband显示文摘Based on a silicon platform, we design and fabricate a four-mode division(de)multiplexer for chip-scale optical data transmission in the 2 μm waveband for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The(de)multiplexer is composed of three tapered directional couplers for both mode multiplexing and demultiplexing processes. In the experiment, the average crosstalk for four channels is measured to be less than-18 dB over a wide wavelength range(70 nm) from 1950 to 2020 nm, and the insertion losses are also assessed. Moreover, we further demonstrate stable 5 Gbit/s direct modulation data transmission through the fabricated silicon photonic devices with nonreturn-to-zero on–off keying signals. The experimental results show clear eye diagrams, and the penalties at a bit error rate of 3.8 × 10-3 are all less than 2.5 dB after on-chip data transmission. 12Determination of spices in food samples by ionic liquid aqueous solution extraction and ion chromatography显示文摘In the present work, a novel method to extract three kinds of spices, namely vanillin, ethyl vanillin and ethyl maltol from food products such as biscuit, chocolate and milk powder was developed. 1-Octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride([Omim]Cl) aqueous solution was selected as the extracting medium. A 0.5 g powder of food product was extracted by 5.0 mL of [Omim]Cl aqueous solution(0.3 mol/L, pH 6.0) under ultrasonication at 50 8C, and then the extract was centrifuged for 10 min at 4000 rpm. The extract was filtered through a syringe filter and injected into ion chromatography system for analysis. The separation of the three spices was carried out on an anion exchange column. The detection wavelength was set at 280 nm. Compared with traditional extraction solvents, [Omim]Cl aqueous solution displayed particular advantages. The applicability of the proposed method to real sample was confirmed. Under the optimal conditions, good reproducibility of extraction performance was obtained, with the relative standard deviation(RSD) values ranging from 1.9% to 6.3%. The recoveries of spiked samples were between 79.8% and 95.8%. The detection limits(LOD, S/N = 3) of vanillin, ethyl vanillin and ethyl maltol were in the range of 20–45 mg/kg. 13Correlation between the Amplitude of Glucose Excursion and the Oxidative/Antioxidative System in Subjects with Different Types of Glucose Regulation显示文摘Objective To investigate effects of glucose excursion on the oxidative/antioxidative system in subjects with different types of glucose regulation. Methods A total of 30 individuals with normal glucose regulation (NGR), 27 subjects with impaired glucose regulation (IGR) and 27 subjects with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were selected and recruited for 3 days' continuous glucose monitor system (CGMS) assessment. The data from CGMS was used to calculate the mean amplitude of glycemic excursion (MAGE), mean blood glucose (MBG) and its standard deviation (SDBG), area under the ROC curve when the blood glucose >5.6 mmol/L within 24 h (AUC 5.6), mean of daily differences (MODD), and mean postprandial glucose excursion (MPPGE). In all groups, the content or activity of malondialdehyde (MDA), total antioxidation capacity (TAOC) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH‐Px) were detected. Results Glucose excursion parameters of subjects with T2DM or IGR were higher than those of NGR subjects (P<0.05 or 0.01). Moreover, Glucose excursion parameters of T2DM subjects were higher than those of IGR subjects (P<0.05 or 0.01). Subjects with T2DM or IGR had significant higher MDA levels and lower GSH‐Px/MDA and TAOC/MDA levels compared to NGR subjects (P<0.01). T2DM subjects had even higher MDA levels and lower GSH‐Px/MDA levels than IGR (P<0.05 or 0.01). According to the median of normal population for MAGE, T2DM and IGR subjects were divided into MAGE>2.6mmol/L Group and MAGE≤2.6mmol/L Group. MAGE>2.6mmol/L Group had higher levels of MDA and lower levels of GSH‐Px/MDA than MAGE≤2.6mmol/L Group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05) in terms of the levels of TAOC/MDA. Pearson correlation analysis showed that MDA was positively correlated with FPG, 2hPG, MAGE, and SBP. GSH‐Px/MDA was negatively correlated with MAGE and TC. TAOC/MDA was negatively correlated with FPG. Partial correlation analysis showed that the relationship between MDA and MAGE, GSH‐Px/MDA, and MAGE remained significant after adjustments for the other differences among groups. 15Influences of solid particles on the formation of the third phase crud during solvent extraction显示文摘The influences of solid particles in leach solution on the formation of the third phase crud during solvent extrac-tion of copper were studied. Analyzed from the point of view of pH value and surface tension, the study results showed that the solid particle is one of the most important contributors for the formation of the third phase crud. 16The control and optimization of macro/micro-structure of ion conductive membranes for energy conversion and storage显示文摘Ion conductive membranes(ICMs)are frequently used as separators for energy conversion and storage technologies of fuel cells,flow battery,and hydrogen pump,because of their good ion-selective conduction and low electronic conductivity.Firstly,this feature article reviews the recent studies on the development of new nonfluorinated ICMs with low cost and their macro/micro-structure control.In general,these new nonfluorinated ICMs have lower conductivity than commercial perfluorinated ones,due to their poor ion transport channels.Increasing ion exchange capacity(IEC)would create more continuous hydrophilic channels,thus enhancing the conductivity.However,high IEC also expands the overall hydrophilic domains,weakens the interaction between polymer chains,enhances the mobility of polymer chains,and eventually induces larger swelling.The micro-scale expansion and macro-scale swelling of the ICMs with high IEC could be controlled by limiting the mobility of polymer chains.Based on this strategy,some ef ficient techniques have been developed,including covalent crosslinking,semi-interpenatrating polymer network,and blending.Secondly,this review introduces the optimization of macro/microstructure of both perfluorinated and nonfluorinated ICMs to improve the performance.Macro-scale multilayer composite is an ef ficient way to enhance the mechanical strength and the dimensional stability of the ICMs,and could also decrease the content of per fluorosulfonic acid resin in the membrane,thereby reducing the cost of the perfluorinated ICMs.Long side chain,multiple functionalization,small molecule inducing micro-phase separation,electrospun nano fiber,and organic–inorganic hybrid could construct more ef ficient ion transport channels,improving the ion conductivity of ICMs.Xiaoming Yan Wenji Zheng Xuehua Ruan Yu Pan Xuemei Wu Gaohong He 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,5:6
17Plasma microRNA profiling in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients reveals miR-548q and miR-483-5p as potential biomarkers显示文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs), which play a role in tumorigenesis, may also serve as diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers. However, studies on human miRNA profiles in plasma from nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) patients are in their infancy. Here, we used microarrays to perform systematic profiling of human miRNAs in plasma from NPC patients. We subsequently used real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(Q-PCR) to validate miRNAs with aberrant expression that could serve as potential biomarkers. By comparing the plasma miRNA profiles of 31 NPC patients and 19 controls, 39 of 887 human miRNAs were found to be aberrantly expressed. Considering the fold change and P value, miR-548q and miR-483-5p were validated in 132 samples from 82 NPC patients and 50 controls. Moreover, high expression of miR-548q and miR-483-5p was further found in 3 NPC cell lines and clinical biopsy tissues from 54 NPC patients and 22 controls. Our results revealed that miR-548q and miR-483-5p are potential biomarkers of NPC. Combining the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) analyses of these 2 miRNAs, an area under the ROC curve(AUC) of 0.737 with 67.1% sensitivity and 68.0% specificity were obtained, showing the preliminary diagnostic value of plasma miRNAs. Moreover, most NPC patients with a poor outcome exhibited high expression(> median) of miR-548q(70.6%) and miR-483-5p(64.7%) in tissue samples, indicating their prognostic value. 19A zinc finger protein, interacted with cyclophilin,affects root development via IAA pathway in rice显示文摘The plant hormone auxin plays a crucial role in lateral root development. To better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying lateral root formation,an auxin-responsive gene OsCYP2(Os02g0121300) was characterized from rice. Compared to the wild type,OsCYP2-RNAi(RNA interference) lines exhibited distinctive defects in lateral root development. Yeast two-hybrid and glutathione S-transferase pull-down results confirmed that OsCYP2 interacted with a C2HC-type zinc finger protein(OsZFP, Os01g0252900) which is located in the rice nucleus. T_2 OsZFP-RNAi lines had significantly fewer lateral roots than did wild-type plants, which suggests a role for OsCYP2 and OsZFP in regulating lateral root development.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction showed that the expression of certain Aux/IAA(auxin/indole-3-acetic acid) genes was altered in OsCYP2-and Os ZFP-RNAi lines in response to IAA. These findings imply that OsCYP2 and OsZFP participate in IAA signal pathways controlling lateral root development. 20Proteomic analysis of primary colon cancer-associated fibroblasts using the SELDI-ProteinChip platform显示文摘Objective: Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are one of the hallmarks of the cancer microenvironment. Recent evidence has indicated that CAFs are more competent in enhancing cancer cell growth and migration than normal fibroblasts. However, the unique protein expression of CAFs has not been fully elucidated. This study aims to investigate the characterizations of colon CAFs by comparing the differential protein expression between CAFs and normal fibroblasts. Methods: Primary fibroblasts were isolated from surgical specimen of human colon cancer and matched normal colonic tissue. Purity of the cell population was verified through immunostain analysis. Total cell lysates and conditioned media from each group of cells were extracted, and protein expression analysis was conducted using the surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF-MS) ProteinChip platform. Results: Most primary cells showed typical fibroblast-like features after two weeks. Increased proportion of α-smooth muscle actin-positive myofibroblasts was detected within the CAFs in four of the six pairs of primary cells. Fibroblast activation protein was weakly expressed in most cells without differences. Using SELDI-TOF-MS ProteinChip platform, four protein peaks mass over charge ratio (m/z) 1142, 3011, 4035, and 4945 were detected in the total cell lysates, and two protein peaks m/z 1368 and 1389 were detected in the conditioned media. The potential candidate proteins found in the Swiss-Prot database include morphogenetic neuropeptides, FMRFamide-related peptides, insulin-like growth factor II, thymosin β-4-like protein 3, and tight junction-associated protein 1. Conclusions: Using the SELDI-ProteinChip platform, differential protein expressions were identified in colon CAFs compared with normal colonic stromal fibroblasts.
