| 1 | The relationship between the thermohaline circulation and climate variability显示文摘The long-term integration with the Global Ocean-Atmosphere-Land System model of the State Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics (LASG), Institute of Atmospheric Physics(IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences has been used in the investigations on the relationship between the thermohaline circulation and climate variability. The results show that the strength of the North Atlantic Thermohaline circulation (THC) is negatively correlated with the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). Based on this kind of relationship, and also the instrument-measured climate record such as air pressure and sea surface temperature, the activity of the thermohaline circulation during the 20th century has been evaluated. | 3 | Single-Crystalline In Ga As Nanowires for Room-Temperature High-Performance Near-Infrared Photodetectors显示文摘In Ga As is an important bandgap-variable ternary semiconductor which has wide applications in electronics and optoelectronics. In this work, single-crystal In Ga As nanowires were synthesized by a chemical vapor deposition method.Photoluminescence measurements indicate the In Ga As nanowires have strong light emission in near-infrared region. For the first time, photodetector based on as-grown In Ga As nanowires was also constructed. It shows good light response over a broad spectral range in infrared region with responsivity of 6.5×10~3 AW^(-1) and external quantum efficiency of 5.04×10~5%. | 5 | The coupling procedure of air-sea freshwater exchange in climate system models显示文摘A coupling procedure of air-sea freshwater exchange in climate system models is reported in this note. The first stage of the procedure is to force OGCM to equilibrium under strong restoring surface condition on salinity, then increase the relaxing coefficient and get another steady state. The second stage is to switch the forcing on salinity from the weak restoring condition to the flux condition, and then finish a long-term spinning-up integration. After finishing these OGCM spinning-up stages, the last stage is to couple the OGCM with an active atmosphere, i.e. AGCM. | 6 | Online illumination estimation of outdoor scenes based on videos containing no shadow area显示文摘Real-time estimation of outdoor illumination is one of the key issues for ensuring the illumination consistency of augmented reality.In this paper,we propose a novel framework to estimate the dynamic illumination of outdoor scenes based on an online video sequence captured by a fixed camera.All existing approaches are based on two assumptions,i.e.there exist some shadow areas in the scene and the distribution of the skylight is uniform over the sky.Both assumptions greatly simplify the problem of illumination estimation of outdoor scenes,but they also limit the applicability as well as the accuracy of these approaches.This paper presents a new approach that breaks these two hard constraints.It recovers the lighting parameters of outdoor scenes containing no shadow area through solving a constrained linear least squares problem.By representing the skylight as a parameterized model incorporating an occlusion coefficient,the proposed approach can handle the dynamic variation of non-uniform skylight distribution.Experimental results demonstrate the potential of our approach. | XING GuanYu ZHOU XueHong LIU YanLi QIN XueYing PENG QunSheng | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,3: | 3 |
| 7 | Preparation of hollow fiber membranes from mullite particles with aid of sintering additives显示文摘Porous mullite hollow fiber membranes were prepared with a combined phase-inversion and sintering method,using three sintering additives including yttrium stabilized zirconia(YSZ),small mullite particles(SMP),and titanium oxide(TiO2)to promote the particle sintering.The results indicated that all the three additives could improve the sintering performance of mullite hollow fiber membranes due to the decrease in activation energy of mullite grains.Both YSZ and T i02 could react with mullite grains to generate composite oxides(e.g.,ZrSi04 and Al2Ti05)during sintering,following a reaction-sintering mechanism.Interestingly,the newly generated ZrSiO4 was instable and further decomposed into monoclinic ZrO2 and SiO2 in the sintering process.The decomposition could avoid excessive embedment of composite oxides among mullite grains which have negative impact on mechanical strength of mullite hollow fibers.Overall,the doping of YSZ provided a better promotion effect on the sintering of mullite hollow fiber membranes,where the microstructural and mechanical properties are insensitive to the doping content and sintering temperatures,so it could be used as the candidate for the large-scale preparation of mullite hollow fibers. | Hua LIU Jinyun LIU Zhou HONG Shengxian WANG Xuechao GAO Xuehong GU | 2021 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,1: | 3 |
| 8 | A male-ABCD algorithm for hepatocellular carcinoma risk prediction in HBs Ag carriers显示文摘Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) development among hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) carriers shows gender disparity, influenced by underlying liver diseases that display variations in laboratory tests. We aimed to construct a risk-stratified HCC prediction model for HBs Ag-positive male adults.Methods: HBs Ag-positive males of 35-69 years old(N=6,153) were included from a multi-center populationbased liver cancer screening study. Randomly, three centers were set as training, the other three centers as validation. Within 2 years since initiation, we administrated at least two rounds of HCC screening using Bultrasonography and α-fetoprotein(AFP). We used logistic regression models to determine potential risk factors,built and examined the operating characteristics of a point-based algorithm for HCC risk prediction.Results: With 2 years of follow-up, 302 HCC cases were diagnosed. A male-ABCD algorithm was constructed including participant's age, blood levels of GGT(γ-glutamyl-transpeptidase), counts of platelets, white cells,concentration of DCP(des-γ-carboxy-prothrombin) and AFP, with scores ranging from 0 to 18.3. The area under receiver operating characteristic was 0.91(0.90-0.93), larger than existing models. At 1.5 points of risk score,26.10% of the participants in training cohort and 14.94% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk, with sensitivity of identifying HCC remained 100%. At 2.5 points, 46.51% of the participants in training cohort and 33.68% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk with 99.06% and 97.78% of sensitivity, respectively. | 9 | Mercury Distribution and Accumulation in Typical Wetland Ecosystems of Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China显示文摘Total mercury in soil,water,plant,insects,fishes and bird feathers were determined to study mercury distribution and accumulation in typical wetland ecosystems in the Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China.Results show that total mercury concentrations in soils of Deyeuxia angustifolia wetland and Carex lascarpa wetland are 0.046 mg/kg and 0.063 mg/kg,respectively.Total mercury concentration in water bodies is 0.053 μg/L on average.Of four plants studied,total mercury in moss is the highest with the mean of 0.132 mg/kg.Of 10 terrestrial insect species studied,total mercury in centipede(Scolopendra spp.) is the highest with the mean of 0.515 mg/kg while total mercury in grasshopper(Oxya spp.) bodies is the lowest.Total mercury concentrations in the herbivorous,omnivorous and predatory insects are 10.18 ng/g,16.47 ng/g and 213.35 ng/g on average,respectively.Total mercury concentrations of the adult feather(549.88 ± 63.04 ng/g),nestling feather(55.15 ± 23.53 ng/g),and eggshell(22.05 ± 5.96 ng/g) of the Grey heron(Ardea cinerea) are higher than those of the Great egret(Egretta alba)(adult feather:446.57 ± 90.89 ng/g;nestling feather:32.99 ± 17.15 ng/g;eggshell:21.02 ± 3.17 ng/g) in the wetlands of the Sanjiang Plain.The bioconcentration factors decrease in the order of piscivorous fish muscle > omnivorous fish muscle > herbivorous fish > insect. | WANG Qiang ZHANG Zhongsheng ZHOU Xuehong LU Xianguo | 2013 | Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,1: | 2 |
