1Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. 8Effects of Supplemental Carbohydrate Sources on Lactation Performance, Nitrogen Balance,and Ruminal Fermentation in Dairy Cows Fed Energy-Deficient Total Mixed Rations显示文摘The effects of supplemental carbohydrate (CHO) sources on milk yield and composition, nitrogen (N) balance,and ruminal fermentation were evaluated in lactating dairy cows fed energy-deficient total mixed rations (TMR) . Fifty-six lactating Holstein cows (36. 8 ± 3. 4 kg / d of milk yield; 152 ± 26 days in milk [DIM]) were randomly assigned to one of four diets: (1) basal TMR (control) ; (2) basal TMR + 1. 25 kg / d sucrose (SUC) ; (3) basal TMR + 2. 12 kg /d steam-flaked corn (SFC) ; (4) basal TMR + 2. 23 kg / d wheat (WHE) . The trial lasted 70 days,including the first 10 days of adaptation. Simultaneously, a 4 × 4 Latin square trial was conducted with four ruminally cannulated cows of similar DMI (Dry Matter Intake) fed on the above four diets. Each testing period lasted 18 days: 15 days for adaptation and 3 days for sampling. Cows fed SUC-,SFC-,and WHE-supplemented diets produced 1. 6,2. 9,and 0. 8 kg / d,respectively,more milk than those on the basal TMR control diet,but the difference was not significant (P = 0. 160) . However,the production of energy-corrected milk of cows fed CHO-supplemented diets improved significantly (P = 0. 020) ,and the yield of 4% fatcorrected milk tended to be higher (P = 0. 063) than in control animals. Percentages of milk protein,lactoseand solids-not-fat (SNF) increased significantly in cows fed CHO-supplemented diets (P < 0. 05) ,and yields of milk protein and SNF were significantly higher (P <0. 05) ; yields of milk fat and lactose were somewhat higher (P < 0. 10) . Cows receiving supplementary CHO diets consumed more DM (Dry Matter) (P = 0. 023) ; however,there was no significant difference in N retention,digestibility,or utilization efficiency among the treatments (P > 0. 10) . The average ruminal pH was lowest in cows supplemented with SUC,while that in cows supplemented with SFC and WHE was only slightly reduced (P = 0. 025) . Ruminal NH 3 -N concentration was highest with no supplementary CHO (P = 0. 017) ,and changes in postfeeding time were similar across the diets. Total volatile fatty acid concentration was significantly lower in control animals than in those on SUCand WHE-supplemented diets (P = 0. 001) ; significant dietary responses were observed in the concentrations of acetate,butyrate,and branchedchain fatty acids and in the acetate-to-propionate ratio (P <0. 001) . 9Recent advances in metal-free CDs/g-C_(3)N_(4) photocatalysts:Synthetic strategies,mechanism insight,and applications显示文摘Carbon dots/graphite carbon nitride(CDs/g-C_(3)N_(4)),a novel composite photocatalyst,has shown great po-tential for applications in energy regeneration and environmental remediation owing to its following advantages:metal-free,low cost,easily tunable,and excellent photocatalytic performance.Hence,we reviewed the development of synthetic strategies,photocatalytic enhancement mechanisms,and pho-tocatalytic applications of CDs/g-C_(3)N_(4) in this study.First,the three composite strategies of CDs and g-C_(3)N_(4)-self-assembly,solvothermal,and calcination polymerization are outlined,and their advantages and disadvantages are described in detail.Moreover,the photocatalytic enhancement mechanism of the com-posite strategies was elucidated according to the variation trends of CDs/g-C_(3)N_(4) band structure,electronic properties,light absorption range,and interfacial charge transfer.Then,the applications of CDs/g-C_(3)N_(4) in hydrogen evolution,pollutant degradation,CO_(2) reduction,and bacterial disinfection in recent years are reviewed systematically.Finally,the current obstacles and future research directions of CDs/g-C_(3)N_(4) are discussed from the perspective of preparation technology and practical applications,respectively.Xingxing Yang Lina Sheng Yongli Ye Jiadi Sun Zaijun Li Xiao Ning Jin Cao Xiulan Sun 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,19:0
10Characterization and Expression Profiling of Genes Encoding the Gibberellin 3-oxidase in Dasypyrum villosum Dwarf Mutant显示文摘Gibberellin 3-oxidase catalyzes the conversion of inactive gibberellin(GA) species into GAs with biological activity and it is subjected to strict developmental controls in the life cycle of a plant. In this study, 33 gene sequences, encoding the gibberellin 3-oxidase(GA3ox) from Dasypyrum villosum and its dwarf mutant, were obtained. Each contained a 1 107 bp coding sequence(CDS) that encoded a putative protein containing 369 amino acids. The GA3ox protein showed 77% to 97% homology and shared the major conserved structural domains of GA3ox proteins with rice, sorghum bicolor, oat, barley, and wheat. Sequence alignment showed that there were 20 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) and 22 Insertion/deletions(In Dels) among these sequences, which could be divided into 2 haplotypes, haplotypes Ⅰ and Ⅱ. Haplotype Ⅰ was found in the wild type and was1 495 bp in length, and haplotype Ⅱ was found in the dwarf mutant and was 1 485 bp in length. The Q-PCR results showed that GA3ox was expressed in the leaves, roots, internodes, and stem nodes, and that there was a significant difference in the transcript level of the GA3ox between the wild type and dwarf mutant. The transcript levels of GA3ox in the leaves at the seedling stage, stem elongation stage and the heading stage, in the root and stem nodes at the stem elongation stage and in the internodes at the heading stage of the wild type, were significantly higher than those in the dwarf mutant. However, GA3ox expression in the rest of the wild type tissues at the 3 stages was slightly higher than or not different from the dwarf mutant.The results suggested that the wild type and mutant allele sequences of GA3ox in D. villosum showed 2 amino acid changes in exons and variations in the lengths of introns or the SNPs in introns, which most probably impaired the function of the enzyme,affected the GA3ox expression level, and eventually gave rise to dwarfing.Peng CAI Zaijun YANG Zhengsong PENG Maoqun YU 2017Agricultural Science & Technology2017,18,9:0
11REGγ drives Lgr5^(+) stem cells to potentiate radiation induced intestinal regeneration显示文摘Leucine-rich repeat containing G protein-coupled receptor 5(Lgr5), a marker of intestinal stem cells(ISCs), is considered to play key roles in tissue homoeostasis and regeneration after acute radiation injury. However, the activation of Lgr5 by integrated signaling pathways upon radiation remains poorly understood. Here, we show that irradiation of mice with whole-body depletion or conditional ablation of REGγ in Lgr5^(+) stem cell impairs proliferation of intestinal crypts, delaying regeneration of intestine epithelial cells. Mechanistically, REGγ enhances transcriptional activation of Lgr5 via the potentiation of both Wnt and Hippo signal pathways. TEAD4 alone or cooperates with TCF4, a transcription factor mediating Wnt signaling, to enhance the expression of Lgr5. Silencing TEAD4 drastically attenuated β-catenin/TCF4 dependent expression of Lgr5.
