| 1 | Visualization of the complex structure and stress field inside rock by means of 3D printing technology显示文摘Accurate characterization and visualization of the complex inner structure and stress distribution of rocks are of vital significance to solve a variety of underground engineering problems. In this paper, we incorporate several advanced technologies, such as CT scan, three-dimensional(3D) reconstruction, and 3D printing, to produce a physical model representing the natural coal rock that inherently contains complex fractures or joints. We employ 3D frozen stress and photoelastic technologies to characterize and visualize the stress distribution within the fractured rock under uniaxial compression. The 3D printed model presents the fracture structures identical to those of the natural prototype. The mechanical properties of the printed model,including uniaxial compression strength, elastic modulus,and Poisson's ratio, are testified to be similar to those of the prototype coal rock. The frozen stress and photoelastic tests show that the location of stress concentration and the stress gradient around the discontinuous fractures are in good agreement with the numerical predictions of the real coalsample. The proposed method appears to be capable of visually quantifying the influences of discontinuous,irregular fractures on the strength, deformation, and stress concentration of coal rock. | 2 | Generalized constructal optimization for the secondary cooling process of slab continuous casting based on entransy theory显示文摘Based on constructal theory and entransy theory,a generalized constructal optimization of a solidification heat transfer process of slab continuous casting for a specified total water flow rate in the secondary cooling zone was carried out.A complex function was taken as the optimization objective to perform the casting.The complex function was composed of the functions of the entransy dissipation and surface temperature gradient of the slab.The optimal water distribution at the sections of the secondary cooling zone were obtained.The effects of the total water flow rate in the secondary cooling zone,casting speed,superheat and water distribution on the generalized constructal optimizations of the secondary cooling process were analyzed.The results show that on comparing the optimization results obtained based on the optimal water distributions of the 8 sections in the secondary cooling zone with those based on the initial ones,the complex function and the functions of the entransy dissipation and surface temperature gradient after optimization decreased by 43.25%,5.90%and 80.60%,respectively.The quality and energy storage of the slab had obviously improved in this case.The complex function,composed of the functions of the entransy dissipation and surface temperature gradient of the slab,was a compromise between the internal and surface temperature gradients of the slab.Essentially,it is also the compromise between energy storage and quality of the slab.The'generalized constructal optimization'based on the minimum complex function can provide an optimal alternative scheme from the point of view of improving energy storage and quality for the parameter design and dynamic operation of the solidification heat transfer process of slab continuous casting. | FENG HuiJun CHEN LinGen XIE ZhiHui DING ZeMin SUN FengRui | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4: | 14 |
| 3 | Study on the Anti-Liver Fibrosis Effect of Benefit Liver Granule (益肝冲剂) and Its Mechanism in Rats显示文摘Objective:To explore the effect of Benefit Liver Granule (BLG), a traditional Chinese medical preparation, in antagonizing liver fibrosis and its possible mechanism. Methods:Carbon tetrachloride was used to establish the experimental liver fibrosis model of rat. The model rats were randomly divided into 4 groups and BLG, Astragalus (As), Salvia (Sa) and normal saline (for control) respectively were given to them by gastrogavage. Changes of serum alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), transforming growth factor α(TGF α), interleukine 6 (IL 6), liver content of hydroxyproline (Hyp), superoxide dismutase (SOD), malonyldialdehyde (MDA) as well as liver pathology after treatment were observed. A normal control group was also established for control.Results: Pathological examination showed that in the saline group, the structure of normal hepatic lobuli was destroyed with swelled liver cells, focal necrosis, extensive fatty degeneration, and focal inflammatory cell infiltration. Small amounts of proliferated fiber tissue were found in the intra lobular area, peri central vein area, portal area and limiting plate area, and formation of pseudolobuli was also seen. In the 3 treated groups, the serum ALT, AST, TGF α and IL 6 as well as liver content of Hyp, and MDA were lower and SOD were higher than those in the control group significantly, P <0.05 or P <0.01.Conclusion: BLG, As and Sa have the action of anti liver fibrosis, while BLG has the best effect. | 5 | Flexible free-standing polyaniline/poly(vinyl alcohol) composite electrode with good capacitance performance and shape memory behavior显示文摘The increasing demand for portable and flexible energy storage devices drives the development of flexible electrodes and electrolytes.The aim of this work is to fabricate the flexible free-standing polyaniline/poly(vinyl alcohol)(PANI/PVA)composite electrode with good capacitance performance and shape memory behavior.The electrodes were fabricated by chemical oxidation polymerization of aniline in porous PVA(P-PVA)films.The morphology,electrochemical and mechanical properties of PANI/P-PVA electrodes were studied by scanning electron microscope,cyclic voltammetry,galvanostatic charge-discharge,and tensile test etc.The results revealed that the flexible PANI/P-PVA-1 electrode had good specific capacitance of 173.86 m F cm(-2)at 1 m A cm(-2),with the capacitance retention of 70.16%after 4000 charge-discharge cycles.Besides,it had excellent heat-induced shape memory effect.The fixed shape could completely recover to its original shape within 10 s at 80℃,which is above the glass transition temperature(75.89℃)of PANI/P-PVA-1.The comparatively tensile strength(2.86 MPa)and high elongation at break(315.72%)indicated its outstanding flexibility.Up to 200 times folding had no effect on the electrochemical properties.The free-standing polymer electrodes with excellent comprehensive performance provide potential applications in flexible energy-storage devices,electronic encapsulation and high stretchable electric devices etc. | Haiyan Du Shaoze Liu Feng You Jinfeng Wang Zhe Ren Zemin Wu | 2021 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2021,31,4: | 1 |

| 8 | Supplemental N-acyl homoserine lactonase alleviates intestinal disruption and improves gut microbiota in broilers challenged by Salmonella Typhimurium显示文摘Background Salmonella Typhimurium challenge causes a huge detriment to chicken production.N-acyl homoserine lactonase(AHLase),a quorum quenching enzyme,potentially inhibits the growth and virulence of Gram-negative bacteria.However,it is unknown whether AHLase can protect chickens against S.Typhimurium challenge.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of AHLase on growth performance and intestinal health in broilers challenged by S.Typhimurium.A total of 240 one-day-old female crossbred broilers(817C)were randomly divided into 5 groups(6 replicates/group):negative control(NC),positive control(PC),and PC group supplemented with 5,10 or 20 U/g AHLase.All birds except those in NC were challenged with S.Typhimurium from 7 to 9 days of age.All parameters related to growth and intestinal health were determined on d 10 and 14.Results The reductions(P<0.05)in body weight(BW)and average daily gain(ADG)in challenged birds were alleviated by AHLase addition especially at 10 U/g.Thus,samples from NC,PC and PC plus 10 U/g AHLase group were selected for further analysis.S.Typhimurium challenge impaired(P<0.05)intestinal morphology,elevated(P<0.05)ileal inflammatory cytokines(IL-1βand IL-8)expression,and increased(P<0.05)serum diamine oxidase(DAO)activity on d 10.However,AHLase addition normalized these changes.Gut microbiota analysis on d 10 showed that AHLase reversed the reductions(P<0.05)in several beneficial bacteria(e.g.Bacilli,Bacillales and Lactobacillales),along with increases(P<0.05)in certain harmful bacteria(e.g.Proteobacteria,Gammaproteobacteria,Enterobacteriaceae and Escherichia/Shigel a)in PC group.Furthermore,AHLase-induced increased beneficial bacteria and decreased harmful bacteria were basically negatively correlated(P<0.05)with the reductions of ileal IL-1βand IL-8 expression and serum DAO activity,but positively correlated(P<0.05)with the increased BW and ADG.Functional prediction revealed that AHLase abolished S.Typhimurium-induced upregulations(P<0.05)of certain pathogenicity-related pathways such as lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis,shigellosis,bacterial invasion of epithelial cells and pathogenic Escherichia coli infection of gut microbiota.Conclusions Supplemental AHLase attenuated S.Typhimurium-induced growth retardation and intestinal disruption in broilers,which could be associated with the observed recovery of gut microbiota dysbiosis. | Weiwei Wang Jingseng Ou Hui Ye Qingyun Cao Changming Zhang Zemin Dong Dingyuan Feng Jianjun Zuo | 2023 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,4: | 1 |

| 10 | N-acyl homoserine lactonase attenuates the virulence of Salmonella typhimurium and its induction of intestinal damages in broilers显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the potential mitigating effects of N-acyl homoserine lactonase(AHLase)on the virulence of Salmonella typhimurium and its induction of intestinal damages in broilers.In vitro study was firstly conducted to examine if AHLase treatment could attenuate the virulence of S.typhimurium.Then,an in vivo experiment was performed by allocating 240 broiler chicks at 1 d old into 3 groups(8 replicates per group):negative control(NC),positive control(PC),and PC supplemented with 10,000 U/kg AHLase.All chicks except those in NC were orally challenged by S.typhimurium from 8to 10 d of age.Parameters were measured on d 11 and 21.The results showed that treatment with 1 U/mL AHLase suppressed the biofilm-forming ability(including biofilm biomass,extracellular DNA secretion and biofilm formation-related gene expression),together with swarming motility and adhesive capacity of S.typhimurium.Supplemental 10,000 U/kg AHLase counteracted S.typhimurium-induced impairments(P<0.05)in broiler growth performance(including final body weight,average daily gain and average daily feed intake)during either 1-11 d or 12-21 d,and increases(P<0.05)in the indexes of liver,spleen and bursa of Fabricius on d 11,together with reductions(P<0.05)in ileal villus height and its ratio to crypt depth on both d 11 and 21.AHLase addition also normalized the increased(P<0.05)m RNA expression of ileal occludin on both d 11 and 21 in S.typhimurium-challenged broilers.However,neither S.typhimurium challenge nor AHLase addition altered(P>0.05)serum diamine oxidase activity of broilers.Noticeably,S.typhimurium challenge caused little change in the mRNA expression of ileal inflammatory cytokines except for an increase(P<0.05)in interleukin-8 expression on d 11,whereas AHLase addition normalized(P<0.05)this change.In conclusion,AHLase treatment could attenuate the virulence and pathogenicity of S.typhimurium,thus contributing to alleviate S.typhimurium-induced growth retardation and intestinal damages in broilers. | Weiwei Wang Yiliang Chen Hui Ye Zemin Dong Changming Zhang Dingyuan Feng Qingyun Cao Shujie Liang Jianjun Zuo | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,3: | 0 |
| 11 | The lysine methyltransferase SMYD2 facilitates neointimal hyperplasia by regulating the HDAC3-SRF axis显示文摘Coronary restenosis is an important cause of poor long-term prognosis in patients with coronary heart disease.Here,we show that lysine methyltransferase SMYD2 expression in the nucleus is significantly elevated in serum-and PDGF-BB-induced vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs),and in tissues of carotid artery injury-induced neointimal hyperplasia.Smyd2 overexpression in VSMCs(Smyd2-vTg)facilitates,but treatment with its specific inhibitor LLY-507 or SMYD2 knockdown significantly inhibits VSMC phenotypic switching and carotid artery injury-induced neointima formation in mice.Transcriptome sequencing revealed that SMYD2 knockdown represses the expression of serum response factor(SRF)target genes and that SRF overexpression largely reverses the inhibitory effect of SMYD2 knockdown on VSMC proliferation.HDAC3 directly interacts with and deacetylates SRF,which enhances SRF transcriptional activity in VSMCs.Moreover,SMYD2 promotes HDAC3 expression via tri-methylation of H3K36 at its promoter.RGFP966,a specific inhibitor of HDAC3,not only counteracts the pro-proliferation effect of SMYD2 overexpression on VSMCs,but also inhibits carotid artery injury-induced neointima formation in mice.HDAC3 partially abolishes the inhibitory effect of SMYD2 knockdown on VSMC proliferation in a deacetylase activity-dependent manner.Our results reveal that the SMYD2-HDAC3-SRF axis constitutes a novel and critical epigenetic mechanism that regulates VSMC phenotypic switching and neointimal hyperplasia. | Xiaoxuan Zhong Xiang Wei Yan Xu Xuehai Zhu Bo Huo Xian Guo Gaoke Feng Zihao Zhang Xin Feng Zemin Fang Yuxuan Luo Xin Yi Ding-Sheng Jiang | 2024 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2024,14,2: | 0 |
| 12 | Tracking the historical urban development by classifying Landsat MSS data with training samples migrated across time and space显示文摘To reveal the historical urban development in large areas using satellite data such as Landsat MSS still need to overcome many challenges.One of them is the need for high-quality training samples.This study tested the feasibility of migrating training samples collected from Landsat MSS data across time and space.We migrated training samples collected for Washington,D.C.in 1979 to classify the city’s land covers in 1982 and 1984.The classifier trained with Washington,D.C.’s samples were used in classifying Boston’s and Tokyo’s land covers.The results showed that the overall accuracies achieved using migrated samples in 1982(66.67%)and 1984(65.67%)for Washington,D.C.were comparable to that of 1979(68.67%)using a random forest classifier.Migration of training samples between cities in the same urban ecoregion,i.e.Washington,D.C.,and Boston,achieved higher overall accuracy(59.33%)than cities in the different ecoregions(Tokyo,50.33%).We concluded that migrating training samples across time and space in the same urban ecoregion are feasible.Ourfindings can contribute to using Landsat MSS data to reveal the historical urbanization pattern on a global scale. | Zemin Feng Yuqing Liu Yan Shi Jun Yang | 2023 | International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1: | 0 |
| 13 | Polymer engineering for electrodes of aqueous zinc ion batteries显示文摘With the increasing demand for scalable and cost-effective electrochemical energy storage,aqueous zinc ion batteries(AZIBs)have a broad application prospect as an inexpensive,efficient,and naturally secure energy storage device.However,the limitations suffered by AZIBs,including volume expansion and active materials dissolution of the cathode,electrochemical corrosion,irreversible side reactions,zinc dendrites of the anode,have seriously decelerated the civilianization process of AZIBs.Currently,polymers have tremendous superiority for application in AZIBs attributed to their exceptional chemical stability,tunable structure,high energy density and outstanding mechanical properties.Considering the expanding applications of AZIBs and the superiority of polymers,this comprehensive paper meticulously reviews the benefits of utilizing polymeric applied to cathodes and anodes,respectively.To begin with,with adjustable structure as an entry point,the correlation between polymer structure and the function of energy storage as well as optimization is deeply investigated in respect to the mechanism.Then,depending on the diversity of properties and structures,the development of polymers in AZIBs is summarized,including conductive polymers,redox polymers as well as carbon composite polymers for cathode and polyvinylidene fluoride-,carbonyl-,amino-,nitrile-based polymers for anode,and a comprehensive evaluation of the shortcomings of these strategies is provided.Finally,an outlook highlights some of the challenges posed by the application of polymers and offers insights into the potential future direction of polymers in AZIBs.It is designed to provide a thorough reference for researchers and developers working on polymer for AZIBs. | Zhi Peng Zemin Feng Xuelian Zhou Siwen Li Xuejing Yin Zekun Zhang Ningning Zhao Zhangxing He Lei Dai Ling Wang Chao Lu | 2024 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,91,4: | 0 |
