1Coexistence of natural gas hydrate,free gas and water in the gas hydrate system in the Shenhu Area,South China Sea显示文摘Shenhu Area is located in the Baiyun Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin,which is on the northern continental slope of the South China Sea.Gas hydrates in this area have been intensively investigated,achieving a wide coverage of the three-dimensional seismic survey,a large number of boreholes,and detailed data of the seismic survey,logging,and core analysis.In the beginning of 2020,China has successfully conducted the second offshore production test of gas hydrates in this area.In this paper,studies were made on the structure of the hydrate system for the production test,based on detailed logging data and core analysis of this area.As to the results of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)logging and sonic logging of Well GMGS6-SH02 drilled during the GMGS6 Expedition,the hydrate system on which the production well located can be divided into three layers:(1)207.8–253.4 mbsf,45.6 m thick,gas hydrate layer,with gas hydrate saturation of 0–54.5%(31%av.);(2)253.4–278 mbsf,24.6 m thick,mixing layer consisting of gas hydrates,free gas,and water,with gas hydrate saturation of 0–22%(10%av.)and free gas saturation of 0–32%(13%av.);(3)278–297 mbsf,19 m thick,with free gas saturation of less than 7%.Moreover,the pore water freshening identified in the sediment cores,taken from the depth below the theoretically calculated base of methane hydrate stability zone,indicates the occurrence of gas hydrate.All these data reveal that gas hydrates,free gas,and water coexist in the mixing layer from different aspects.Xu-wen Qin Jing-an Lu Hai-long Lu Hai-jun Qiu Jin-qiang Liang Dong-ju Kang Lin-sen Zhan Hong-feng Lu Zeng-gui Kuang 2020China Geology2020,3,2:20
2Changing Connectivities of Chinese Cities in the World City Network,2010–2016显示文摘Against the backdrop of the sizable economic growth of China in recent years, this paper uses the most recent data gathering of the Globalization and World Cities(Ga WC) research network to update and supplement earlier research on the shifting global connectivity of Chinese cities. The update consists of an evaluation of the connectivity of Chinese cities in 2016, the supplement of an analysis of the changing position of Chinese cities in the world city network between 2010 and 2016. To this end, we build on a specification of the world city network as an ‘interlocking network' in which producer services firms play the crucial role in city network formation. Information about the presence of leading producer services firms in cities in 2010 and 2016 is used as the input to a bipartite network projection algorithm in order to measure cities' network connectivity. The first set of results discusses the geographies of urban connectivity in the world city network in 2016. The second set of results discusses standardized measures of change to reveal the major dimensions of the transformations between 2010 and 2016. We find that, with the exception of Hong Kong, Macao and Kaohsiung of Taiwan, all Chinese cities record connectivity gains. This wholesale rise in connectivity is nonetheless geographically uneven, with above all Beijing, Chengdu/Chongqing and Changsha/Wuhan becoming more connected. 4Change in expression of apoptosis genes after hyperthermia,chemotherapy and radiotherapy in human colon cancer transplanted into nude mice显示文摘AIM:To investigate the change in expression of p53 ,Bcl-2 ,and Bax genes in human colon cancer cells transplanted into nude mice after hyperthermia,chemotherapy,radiotherapy,thermochemotherapy,thermoradiotherapy and thermochemoradiotherapy. METHODS:Human colon cancer cell line (HT29) was transplanted into the hind limbs of nude mice. Under laboratory simulated conditions of hyperthermia (43℃,60 min),the actual radiation doses and doses of mitomycin C (MMC) were calculated in reference to the clinical radiotherapy for human rectal cancer and chemotherapy prescription for colon cancer. The mice were divided into 6 groups according to the treatment approaches:hyperthermia,chemotherapy,radiotherapy,thermochemotherapy,thermoradiotherapy,and thermochemoradiotherapy. The mice were sacrificed at different time points and the tumor tissue was taken for further procedures. The morphologic changes in membrane,cytoplasm and nuclei of tumor cells of p53,Bcl-2,and Bax after treatment,were observed by immunohistochemistry staining. RESULTS:All of the six treatment modalities down-regulated the expression of p53,Bcl-2 and up-regulated the expression of Bax at different levels. The combined therapy of hyperthermia,with chemotherapy,and/or irradiation showed a greater effect on down-regulating the expression of p53 (0.208 ± 0.009 vs 0.155 ± 0.0115,P < 0.01) and Bcl-2 (0.086 ± 0.010 vs 0.026 ± 0.0170,P < 0.01) and up-regulating Bax expression (0.091 ± 0.0013 vs 0.207 ± 0.027,P < 0.01) compared with any single therapy.CONCLUSION:Hyperthermia enhances the effect of radio-and chemotherapy on tumors by changing the expression of apoptosis genes,such as p53,Bcl-2 and Bax.Han Liang Hong-Jie Zhan Bao-Gui Wang Yuan Pan Xi-Shan Hao 2007World Journal of Gastroenterology2007,13,32:14
5Comprehensive treatments for hepatocellular carcinoma with tumor thrombus in major portal vein显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of transcatheter arterial chemoembolisation(TACE) compared with surgical intervention and sorafenib for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in patients with tumor thrombus extending to the main portal vein.METHODS: From 2009 to 2013, a total of 418 HCC patients with tumor thrombus extending to the main portal vein were enrolled in this study and divided into four groups. These groups underwent different treatments as follows: TACE(n = 307), surgical intervention(n = 54), sorafenib(n = 15) and palliativetreatment(n = 42). Overall survival rates were determined by Kaplan-Meier method, and differences between the groups were identified through log-rank analysis. Cox's proportional hazard model was used to identify the risk factors for survival.RESULTS: The mean survival periods for patients in the TACE, surgical intervention, sorafenib and palliative treatment groups were 10.39, 4.13, 5.54 and 2.82 mo, respectively. For the TACE group, the 3-, 6-, 12-and 24-mo survival rates were 94.1%, 85.9%, 51.5% and 0.0%, respectively. The corresponding rates were 60.3%, 22.2%, 0.0% and 0.0% for the surgical intervention group and 50.9%, 29.5%, 0.0% and 0.0% for the sorafenib group. Evidently, the results in the TACE group were significantly higher than those in the other groups(P < 0.0001). Furthermore, no significant difference among survival rates was observed between TACE with/without sorafenib(10.22 mo vs 10.52 mo, P = 0.615). No significant difference in survival rates was also found among the surgical intervention, sorafenib and palliative treatment groups(P > 0.05). 6Analysis of risk factors for the interval time, number and pattern of hepatic metastases from gastric cancer after radical gastrectomy显示文摘AIM: To analyze the risk factors for interval time, number and pattern of hepatic metastases from gastric cancer after radical gastrectomy, and provide evidence for predicting and preventing hepatic metastasis from gastric cancer after radical gastrectomy. METHODS: A retrospective study of 87 patients with hepatic metastasis who underwent radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer from 1996 to 2001. The data was analyzed to evaluate significant risk factors for interval time, number and pattern of hepatic metastases originating from gastric cancer after radical gastrectomy. RESULTS: The size of gastric cancer and lymph node metastases were independently correlated with the interval time of hepatic metastases; the depth of invasion was independently correlated with the number of hepatic metastases; while the depth of invasion and Lauren classification were independently correlated with the pattern of hepatic metastases. CONCLUSION: We evaluated the interval time of hepatic metastases with the size of gastric cancer and lymph node metastases. 7Ultrafast and broadband photodetectors based on a perovskite/organic bulk heterojunction for large-dynamic-range imaging显示文摘Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite(OIHP)photodetectors that simultaneously achieve an ultrafast response and high sensitivity in the near-infrared(NIR)region are prerequisites for expanding current monitoring,imaging,and optical communication capbilities.Herein,we demonstrate photodetectors constructed by OIHP and an organic bulk heterojunction(BHJ)consisting of a low-bandgap nonfullerene and polymer,which achieve broadband response spectra up to 1μm with a highest external quantum efficiency of approximately 54%at 850 nm,an ultrafast response speed of 5.6 ns and a linear dynamic range(LDR)of 191 dB.High sensitivity,ultrafast speed and a large LDR are preeminent prerequisites for the practical application of photodetectors.Encouragingly,due to the high-dynamicrange imaging capacity,high-quality visible-NIR actual imaging is achieved by employing the OIHP photodetectors.We believe that state-of-the-art OIHP photodetectors can accelerate the translation of solution-processed photodetector applications from the laboratory to the imaging market.Chenglong Li Hailu Wang Fang Wang Tengfei Li Mengjian Xu Hao Wang Zhen Wang Xiaowei Zhan Weida Hu Liang Shen 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:13

9Triptolide suppresses the growth and metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer by inhibitingβ-catenin-mediated epithelial–mesenchymal transition显示文摘Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)is characterized by a high incidence of metastasis and poor survival.As epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)is well recognized as a major factor initiating tumor metastasis,developing EMT inhibitor could be a feasible treatment for metastatic NSCLC.Recent studies show that triptolide isolated from Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F attenuated the migration and invasion of breast cancer,colon carcinoma,and ovarian cancer cells,and EMT played important roles in this process.In the present study we investigated the effect of triptolide on the migration and invasion of NSCLC cell lines.We showed that triptolide(0.5,1.0,2.0 nM)concentration-dependently inhibited the migration and invasion of NCI-H1299 cells.Triptolide treatment concentration-dependently suppressed EMT in NCI-H1299 cells,evidenced by significantly elevated E-cadherin expression and reduced expression of ZEB1,vimentin,and slug.Furthermore,triptolide treatment suppressedβ-catenin expression in NCI-H1299 and NCI-H460 cells,overexpression ofβ-catenin antagonized triptolide-caused inhibition on EMT,whereas knockout ofβ-catenin enhanced the inhibitory effect of triptolide on EMT.Administration of triptolide(0.75,1.5 mg/kg per day,ip,every 2 days)for 18 days in NCI-H1299 xenograft mice dose-dependently suppressed the tumor growth,restrained EMT,and decreased lung metastasis,as evidence by significantly decreased expression of mesenchymal markers,increased expression of epithelial markers as well as reduced number of pulmonary lung metastatic foci.These results demonstrate that triptolide suppresses NSCLC metastasis by targeting EMT via reducingβ-catenin expression.Our study implies that triptolide may be developed as a potential agent for the therapy of NSCLC metastasis.Qiu-di Deng Xue-ping Lei Yi-hang Zhong Min-shan Chen Yuan-yu Ke Zhan Li Jing Chen Li-juan Huang Yu Zhang Lu Liang Zhong-xiao Lin Qing Liu Song-pei Li Xi-yong Yu 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,9:12
10Focusing on the recent progress of tea polyphenol chemistry and perspectives显示文摘Myriad evidence attests to the health-promoting benefits of tea drinking.While there are multiple factors of tea influencing the effective biological properties,tea polyphenols are the most significant and valuable components.The chemical characterization and physical characteristics of tea polyphenols have been comprehensively studied over the previous years.Still the emergence of new chemistry in tea,particularly the property of scavenging reactive carbonyl species(RCS)and the newly discovered flavoalkaloid compounds,has drawn increasing attention.In this review,we summarize recent findings of a new class of compounds in tea-flavonoid alkaloids(flavoalkaloids),which exist in fresh tea leaves and can be generated during the process of post-harvesting,and also postulate the formation mechanism of flavoalkaloids between catechins and theanine-derived Strecker aldehyde.Additionally,we detail the up-to-date research results of tea polyphenols regarding their ability to trap RCS and their in vivo aminated metabolites to suppress advanced glycation ends products(AGEs).We further raise questions to be addressed in the near future,including the synthetic pathways for the generation of flavoalkaloids and AGEs in fresh tea leaves before processing and the concentrations of tea polyphenols that affect their RCS scavenging capability due to their pro-oxidant nature.More intensive research is warranted to elucidate the mechanisms of action underlying the biological activity of flavoalkaloids and the pharmacological application of tea polyphenols in scavenging RCS and impeding detrimental AGEs.Shiming Li Liang Zhang Xiaochun Wan Jianfeng Zhan Chi-Tang Ho 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,3:10
11Interactive effect of dissolved organic matter and phenanthrene on soil enzymatic activities显示文摘The investigation of dissolved organic matter(DOM) on urease,catalase and polyphenol oxidase activity in a phenanthrene(Phe)contaminated soil was conducted under laboratory incubation conditions.Values of soil enzymatic activity depended mainly on incubation time.In the initial 16 days,urease activity increased,and was followed by a decrease.In the initial 8 days,catalase activity decreased and then increased.Variation of polyphenol oxidase activity was just the reverse of catalase activity.After 30 days of incubation,no pronounced difference among treatments with Phe,Phe and DOM,and control were detected in urease,catalase and polyphenol oxidase activity.Phe might inhibit urease and catalase,and stimulate polyphenol oxidase.DOM could improve inhibition of Phe in soil urease and catalase activity during the initial period of applying DOM.Nevertheless,DOM had no significant effect on polyphenol oxidase activity in the Phe contaminated soil.There was a negative correlation between catalase and polyphenol oxidase(r =-0.761***),and catalase and urease(r =-0.554**).Additionally,a positive correlation between polyphenol oxidase and urease was also detected(r = 0.701***).It is implied that the formed DOM after application of organic wastes into soils may counteract the inhibition of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soil enzyme activities.Xinhua Zhan,Wenzhu Wu,Lixiang Zhou,Jianru Liang,Tinghui Jiang College of Resources and Environmental Sciences,Nanjing Agricultural University,Nanjing 210095,China.Greenstar Plant Products Inc.,9430 198 St,Langley,BC,Canada V1M3C8. 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,4:10

13Genomic landscape and genetic manipulation of the black soldier fly Hermetia illucens,a natural waste recycler显示文摘The black soldier fly(BSF),Hermetia illucens(Diptera:Stratiomyidae),is renowned for its bioconversion of organic waste into a sustainable source of animal feed.We report a high-quality genome of 1.1 Gb and a consensus set of 16,770 gene models for this beneficial species.Compared to those of other dipteran species,the BSF genome has undergone a substantial expansion in functional modules related to septic adaptation,including immune system factors,olfactory receptors,and cytochrome P450s.We further profiled midgut transcriptomes and associated microbiomes of BSF larvae fed with representative types of organic waste.We find that the pathways related to digestive system and fighting infection are commonly enriched and that Firmicutes bacteria dominate the microbial community in BSF across all diets.To extend its potential practical applications,we further developed an efficient CRISPR/Cas9-based gene editing approach and implemented this to yield flightless and enhanced feeding capacity phenotypes,both of which could expand BSF production capabilities.Our study provides valuable genomic and technical resources for optimizing BSF lines for industrialization.Shuai Zhan Gangqi Fang Minmin Cai Zongqing Kou Jun Xu Yanghui Cao Liang Bai Yixiang Zhang Yongmao Jiang Xingyu Luo Jian Xu Xia Xu Longyu Zheng Ziniu Yu Hong Yang Zhijian Zhang Sibao Wang Jeffery K.Tomberlin Jibin Zhang Yongping Huang 2020Cell Research2020,30,1:9
14Revealing the hidden performance of metal phthalocyanines for CO2 reduction electrocatalysis by hybridization with carbon nanotubes显示文摘Metal phthalocyanines(MePcs)have been considered as promising catalysts for CO2 reduction electrocatalysis due to high turnover frequency and structural tunability.However,their performance is often limited by low current density and the performance of some systems is con troversial.Here,we report a carb on nano tube(CNT)hybridizati on approach to study the electrocatalytic performa nee of MePcs(Me=Co,Fe and Mn).MePc molecules are anchored on CNTs to form the hybrid materials without noticeable molecular aggregations.The MePc/CNT hybrids show higher activities and better stabilities than their molecular counterparts.FePc/CNT is slightly less active than CoPc/CNT,but it could deliver higher Faradaic efficiencies for CO production at low overpotentials.In contrast,the catalytic performance of MePc molecules directly loaded on substrate is hin dered by molecular aggregati on,especially for FePc and MnPc.Our results suggest that carbon nano tube hybridization is an efficient approach to construct advaneed MePc electrocatalysts and to understand their catalytic performance.Zhan Jiang Yang Wang Xiao Zhang Hongzhi Zheng Xiaojun Wang Yongye Liang 2019Nano Research2019,12,9:9

17Efficacy and safety of Shenyankangfu Tablet,a Chinese patent medicine,for primary glomerulonephritis:A multicenter randomized controlled trial显示文摘Background:Shenyankangfu Tablet(SYKFT)is a Chinese patent medicine that has been used widely to decrease proteinuria and the progression of chronic kidney disease.Objective:This trial compared the efficacy and safety of SYKFT,for the control of proteinuria in primary glomerulonephritis patients,against the standard drug,losartan potassium.Design,setting,participants and intervention:This was a multicenter,double-blind,randomized,controlled clinical trial.Primary glomerulonephritis patients,aged 18-70 years,with blood pressure≤140/90 mmHg,estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)>45 mL/min per 1.73 ㎡,and 24-hour proteinuria level of 0.5-3.0 g,were recruited in 41 hospitals across 19 provinces in China and were randomly divided into five groups:SYKFT,losartan potassium 50 mg or 100 mg,SYKFT plus losartan potassium 50 mg or 100 mg.Main outcome measu res:The primary outcome was change in the 24-hour proteinuria level,after 48 weeks of treatment.Results:A total of 735 participants were enrolled.The percent decline of urine protein quantification in the SYKFT group after 48 weeks was 8.78%±2.56%(P=0.006)more than that in the losartan 50 mg group,which was 0.51%±2.54%(P=1.000)less than that in the losartan 100 mg group.Compared with the losartan potassium 50 mg group,the SYKFT plus losartan potassium 50 mg group had a 13.39%±2.49%(P<0.001)greater reduction in urine protein level.Compared with the losartan potassium 100 mg group,the SYKFT plus losartan potassium 100 mg group had a 9.77%±2.52%(P=0.001)greater reduction in urine protein.With a superiority threshold of 15%,neither was statistically significant.eGFR,serum creatinine and serum albumin from the baseline did not change statistically significant.The average change in TCM syndrome score between the patients who took SYKFT(-3.00[-6.00,-2.00])and who did not take SYKFT(-2.00[-5.00,0])was statistically significant(P=0.003).No obvious adverse reactions were observed in any group.Conclusion:SYKFT decreased the proteinuria and improved the TCM syndrome scores of primary glomerulonephritis patients,with no change in the rate of decrease in the eGFR.SYKFT plus losartan potassium therapy decreased proteinuria more than losartan potassium therapy alone.Trial registration number:NCT02063100 on ClinicalTrials.gov.Jie Wu Shu-wei Duan Hong-tao Yang Yue-yi Deng Wei Li Ya-ni He Zhao-hui Ni Yong-li Zhan Shan Lin Zhi-yong Guo Jun Zhu Jing-ai Fang Xu-sheng Liu Li-hua Wang Rong Wang Nian-song Wang Xiao-hong Cheng Li-qun He Ping Luo Shi-ren Sun Ji-feng Sun Ai-ping Yin Geng-ru Jiang Hong-yu Chen Wen-hu Liu Hong-li Lin Meng Liang Lu Ma Ming Chen Li-qun Song Jian Chen Qing Zhu Chang-ying Xing Yun Li Ji-ning Gao Rong-shan Li Ying Li Hao Zhang Ying Lu Qiao-ling Zhou Jun-zhou Fu Qiang He Guang-yan Cai Xiang-mei Chen 2021Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,19,2:8

19One Stone Four Birds:A Novel Liposomal Delivery System Multi-functionalized with Ginsenoside Rh2 for Tumor Targeting Therapy显示文摘Liposomes hold great potential in anti-cancer drug delivery and the targeting treatment of tumors.However,the clinical therapeutic efficacy of liposomes is still limited by the complexity of tumor microenvironment(TME)and the insufficient accumulation in tumor sites.Meanwhile,the application of cholesterol and polyethylene glycol(PEG),which are usually used to prolong the blood circulation and stabilize the structure of liposomes respectively,has been questioned due to various disadvantages.Herein,we developed a ginsenoside Rh2-based multifunctional liposome system(Rh2-lipo)to effectively address these challenges once for all.Different with the conventional’wooden’liposomes,Rh2-lipo is a much more brilliant carrier with multiple functions.In Rh2-lipo,both cholesterol and PEG were substituted by Rh2,which works as membrane stabilizer,long-circulating stealther,active targeting ligand,and chemotherapy adjuvant at the same time.Firstly,Rh2 could keep the stability of liposomes and avoid the shortcomings caused by cholesterol.Secondly,Rh2-lipo showed a specifically prolonged circulation behavior in the blood.Thirdly,the accumulation of the liposomes in the tumor was significantly enhanced by the interaction of glucose transporter of tumor cells with Rh2.Fourth,Rh2-lipo could remodel the structure and reverse the immunosuppressive environment in TME.When tested in a 4T1 breast carcinoma xenograft model,the paclitaxel-loaded Rh2-lipo realized high efficient tumor growth suppression.Therefore,Rh2-lipo not only innovatively challenges the position of cholesterol as a liposome component,but also provides another innovative potential system with multiple functions for anti-cancer drug delivery.Chao Hong Jianming Liang Jiaxuan Xia Ying Zhu Yizhen Guo Anni Wang Chunyi Lu Hongwei Ren Chen Chen Shiyi Li Dan Wang Huaxing Zhan Jianxin Wang 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,10:8
20Enhancement of the imbibition recovery by surfactants in tight oil reservoirs显示文摘Hydraulic fracturing technology can significantly increase oil production from tight oil formations, but performance data show that production declines rapidly. In the long term, it is necessary to increase the development efficiency of block matrix, surfactant-aided imbibition is a potential way. The current work aimed to explain comprehensively how surfactants can enhance the imbibition rate. Laboratory experiments were performed to investigate the effects of wettability, interfacial tension(IFT), and relative permeability as the key parameters underlying surfactant solution imbibition. Two different types of surfactants, sodium dodecyl sulfate and polyethylene glycol octylphenol ether, at varied concentrations were tested on reservoir rocks. Experimental results showed that the oil recovery rate increased with increased wettability alteration and IFT and decreased residual oil saturation. A mechanistic simulator developed in previous studies was used to perform parametric analysis after successful laboratory-scale validation. Results were proven by parametric studies.
