Degradation of organic pollutants by a Co_3O_4 -graphite composite electrode in an electro-Fenton-like system显示文摘A novel composite electrode was constructed by pressing together Co3O4 and graphite and it was used as the cathode in an electro-Fenton-like (EFL) system. The poor electron transport characteristic of Co3O4 was overcome by incorporating graphite. In situ electro-catalytic generation of hydroxyl radicals (·OH) occurred at high current efficiencies from pH 2-10, extending the traditional Fenton reaction pH range. Cyclic voltammetry and AC impedance spectrometry were used to characterize the composite electrode. The ability of the EFL system to degrade organic compounds was investigated using sulforhodamine B (SRB) and 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) as probes. Decoloration of SRB (1.0×10-5 mol/L) was complete (100%) in 150 min and SRB was effectively degraded from pH 2-10. The decomposition of SRB was studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and total organic carbon (TOC) analysis and results indicated that the final degradation products were carbon dioxide, carboxylic acids and amines. The EFL system also decomposed 2,4-DCP and the degradation was 98.6% in 240 min. Electro-catalytic degradation of SRB occurs by a ·OH mechanism. After 5 times reused, the degradation rate of SRB did not significantly slow down. The electrode shows excellent potential for use in advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) used to treat persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in wastewater.LIU Shuan GU Yan WANG ShuLian ZHANG Yu FANG YanFen JOHNSON David M HUANG YingPing 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,19:18
Characteristics of the microbial communities in the integrated vertical-flow constructed wetlands显示文摘Microorganisms play an important role in removing pollutants from constructed wetlands. We investigated the microbial characteristics in a novel integrated vertical-flow constructed wetland(IVCW) ,which has been in operation in Wuhan,China since 1998.We used phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA) and amoA gene to analyze the structure and diversity of the microbial community within the IVCW.PLFA results suggested that the amount of bacterial PLFA was significantly higher than that of fungal PLFA,but the total microbial biomass represented by PLFA index was low in the system.Microbial spatial distribution showed significantly higher bacterial(both G+and G-) and fungal biomass in the surface than in the subsurface layers. The ratios of monounsaturated to branched PLFA demonstrated that an anaerobic layer sandwiched by two aerobic layers existed in the IVCW,consistent with the redox potential results.Analysis of the amoA revealed the presence of Nitrosomonas-like sequences in the surface substrate of the downflow chamber and apparent diversities of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria in the system. These results suggest that microorganisms, despite their relatively low biomass, have inhabited the IVCW,and the results will offer some valuable information on microbe to system designers and managers.ZHOU Qiaohong,HE Feng,Zhang Liping,WANG Yanfen,WU Zhenbin State Key Laboratory of Freshwater Ecology and Biotechnology,Institute of Hydrobiology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Wuhan 430072,China Department of Biology and Chemistry,City University of Hong Kong 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,9:14
The calcium-dependent kinase OsCPK24 functions in cold stress responses in rice显示文摘Calcium-dependent protein kinases(CPKs)are serine/threonine protein kinases that function in plant stress responses. Although CPKs are recognized as key messengers in signal transduction, the specific roles of CPKs and the molecular mechanisms underlying their activity remain largely unknown. Here, we characterized the function of Os CPK_(24), a cytosol-localized calciumdependent protein kinase in rice. Os CPK_(24) was universally and highly expressed in rice plants and was induced by cold treatment. Whereas Os CPK_(24) knockdown plants exhibited increased sensitivity to cold compared to wild type(WT), Os CPK_(24)-overexpressing plants exhibited increased cold tolerance. Plants overexpressing Os CPK_(24) exhibited increased accumulation of proline(an osmoprotectant) and glutathione(an antioxidant) and maintained a higher GSH/GSSG(reduced glutathione to oxidized glutathione) ratio during cold stress compared to WT. In addition to these effects in response to cold stress, we observed the kinase activity of Os CPK_(24) varied under different calcium concentrations. Further,Os CPK_(24) phosphorylated Os Grx_(10), a glutathionedependent thioltransferase, at rates modulated by changes in calcium concentration. Together, our results support the hypothesis that Os CPK_(24) functions as a positive regulator of cold stress tolerance in rice, a process mediated by calcium signaling and involving phosphorylation and the inhibition of Os Grx_(10) to sustain higher glutathione levels.Yu Liu Chunjue Xu Yanfen Zhu Lina Zhang Taiyu Chen Fei Zhou Hao Chen Yongjun Lin 2018Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2018,60,2:12
Arabidopsis co-chaperonin CPN20 antagonizes Mg-chelatase H subunit to derepress ABA-responsive WRKY40 transcription repressor显示文摘Our previous study demonstrated that a chloroplast co-chaperonin 20(CPN20),one of the interaction partners of the magnesium-protoporphyrin IX chelatase H subunit(CHLH/ABAR),negatively regulates ABA signaling at the same node with ABAR but upstream of WRKY40 transcription repressor in Arabidopsis thaliana. In the present experiment,we showed that ABA directly inhibits the ABAR-CPN20 interaction, and also represses expression of CPN20,which depends on ABAR.CPN20 inhibits ABAR-WRKY40 interaction by competitively binding to ABAR.ABAR downregulates, but CPN20 upregulates,WRKY40 expression. The cpn20-1 mutation induces downregulation of WRKY40,and suppresses the upregulated level of WRKY40 due to the cch mutation in the ABAR gene.ABA-induced repressive effect of the WRKY40 gene is strengthened by downregulation of CPN20 but reduced by upregulation of CPN20.Together with our previously reported genetic data,we provide evidence that CPN20 functions through antagonizing the ABAR-WRKY40 coupled pathway, and ABA relieves this pathway of repression by inhibiting the ABAR-CPN20 interaction to activate ABAR-WRKY40 interaction.ZHANG XiaoFeng JIANG Tao YU YongTao WU Zhen JIANG ShangChuan LU Kai FENG XiuJing LIANG Shan LU YanFen WANG XiaoFang ZHANG DaPeng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,1:11
SHP2 promotes proliferation of breast cancer cells through regulating Cyclin D1 stabilityviathe PI3K/AKT/GSK3β signaling pathway显示文摘Objective:The tyrosine phosphatase SHP2 has a dual role in cancer initiation and progression in a tissue type-dependent manner.Several studies have linked SHP2 to the aggressive behavior of breast cancer cells and poorer outcomes in people with cancer.Nevertheless, the mechanistic details of how SHP2 promotes breast cancer progression remain largely undefined. Methods:The relationship between SHP2 expression and the prognosis of patients with breast cancer was investigated by using the TCGA and GEO databases. The expression of SHP2 in breast cancer tissues was analyzed by immunohistochemistry.CRISPR/Cas9 technology was used to generate SHP2-knockout breast cancer cells.Cell-counting kit-8,colony formation, cell cycle, and EdU incorporation assays,as well as a tumor xenograft model were used to examine the function of SHP2 in breast cancer proliferation.Quantitative RT-PCR,western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, and ubiquitination assays were used to explore the molecular mechanism through which SHP2 regulates breast cancer proliferation. Results:High SHP2 expression is correlated with poor prognosis in patients with breast cancer.SHP2 is required for the proliferation of breast cancer cellsin vitro and tumor growthin vivo through regulation of Cyclin D1 abundance, thereby accelerating cell cycle progression.Notably,SHP2 modulates the ubiquitin–proteasome-dependent degradation of Cyclin D1viathe PI3K/AKT/GSK3βsignaling pathway.SHP2 knockout attenuates the activation of PI3K/AKT signaling and causes the dephosphorylation and resultant activation of GSK3β.GSK3βthen mediates phosphorylation of Cyclin D1 at threonine 286,thereby promoting the translocation of Cyclin D1 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and facilitating Cyclin D1 degradation through the ubiquitin–proteasome system. Conclusions:Our study uncovered the mechanism through which SHP2 regulates breast cancer proliferation.SHP2 may therefore potentially serve as a therapeutic target for breast cancer.Yue Yuan Yanling Fan Zicong Gao Xuan Sun He Zhang Zhiyong Wang Yanfen Cui Weijie Song Zhaosong Wang Fei Zhang Ruifang Niu 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:11
CD30 expression in extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type among 622 cases of mature T-cell and natural killer-cell lymphoma at a single institution in South China显示文摘Background:Mature T-cell and natural killer(NK)-cell lymphomas compose a heterogeneous group of non-Hodgkin lymphomas, and extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type(ENKTL) is an aggressive subtype with sporadic CD30 expression. However, the significance of CD30 expression in ENKTL is controversial. We aimed to classify a large cohort of patients with mature T-cell and NK-cell lymphomas according to the 2016 World Health Organization(WHO) classification guidelines and to study the association between CD30 expression and prognosis of patients with ENKTL.Methods:We selected consecutive patients with mature T-cell and NK-cell lymphomas who attended our institution between September 1,2009 and August 31,2013.We classified the lymphomas according to the 2016 revision of the WHO classification of lymphoid neoplasms, analyzed the associations between CD30 expression and clinicopathologic features of ENKTL patients, and evaluated the prognostic implications of CD30 expression. Results:We identified 622 consecutive patients with mature T-cell and NK-cell lymphomas, including 317(51.0%)patients with ENKTL.In addition,CD30 expression was detected in 43(47.3%) of a subset of 91 patients with ENKTL.No clinicopathologic features were associated with CD30 expression, and CD30 positivity showed no prognostic significance in patients with ENKTL.Conclusions:ENKTL is the most common type of mature T-cell and NK-cell lymphoma diagnosed at our institution.CD30 is frequently expressed in ENKTL and represents a therapeutic target;however,it may not be a prognostic marker.Yanfen Feng Huilan Rao Yiyan Lei Yuhua Huang Fang Wang Yu Zhang Shaoyan Xi Qiuliang Wu Jianyong Shao 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer2017,36,6:10
The effect of nanohybrid materials on the pour-point and viscosity depressing of waxy crude oil显示文摘The pipeline transportation of waxy crude oil is a problem both at home and abroad. In this paper,a novel nanohybrid pour-point depressant (PPD) was used to decrease the pour point and viscosity of waxy crude oil.The pour point and apparent viscosity of waxy crude oil was decreased significantly upon addition of the nanohybrid PPD,and the long-term stability of the nanohybrid PPD was superior to that of a conventional ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer PPD.Polarized optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to study the effect of the nanohybrid PPD on the crystallization of crude oil.Addition of the nanohybrid PPD reduced the amount of wax crystals, prevented their aggregation, and reduced the temperature at which the crude oil started to crystallize. The significant effect of this nanohybrid PPD on the pour point and viscosity depressing of crude oil is of great importance for facilitating the safe, efficient and energy-minimized transportation of waxy crude oil.WANG Feng ZHANG DongMin DING YanFen ZHANG LiXin YANG MingShu JIANG BaoLiang ZHANG ShiMin AI MuYang LIU GuangWen ZHI ShuJie HUO LianFeng OUYANG Xin LI Li 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,1:9
Determination of PCDD/Fs and dioxin-like PCBs in food and feed using gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry显示文摘A method was developed on a gas chromatograph coupled to a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer(GC-MS/MS) for trace level determination of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs) and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls(DL-PCBs) in food and feed. The results demonstrated good sensitivity and repeatability for PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs at an extremely low level(10 pg mL^(-1) for 2,3,7,8-TCDD/F), as well as wide linear response of over 3 or 4 orders of magnitude in concentration ranges; 0.5–200 ng mL^(-1) for PeCDD/F and 0.2–2000 ng mL^(-1) for DL-PCBs. The method detection limits for PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs were in the range from 0.018–0.17 pg g^(-1) to 0.13–0.36 pg g^(-1), respectively. The performance of the GC-MS/MS for food and feed sample analysis showed high precision and accuracy compared to the high resolution gas chromatograph/high resolution mass spectrometer. The results indicated the feasibility of GC-MS/MS as a confirmatory method for the measurement of PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs in food and feed as required by European Union legislation.Huizhong Sun Pu Wang Honghua Li Yingming Li Shucheng Zheng Julius Matsiko Yanfen Hao Weiwei Zhang Dou Wang Qinghua Zhang 2017Science China Chemistry2017,60,5:6
Diversity of methanotrophs in Zoige wetland soils under both anaerobic and aerobic conditions显示文摘Zoige wetland is one of the most important methane emission centers in China. The oxidation of methane in the wetland affects global warming, soil ecology and atmospheric chemistry. Despite their global significance, microorganisms that consume methane in Zoige wetland remain poorly characterized. In this study, we investigated methanotrophs diversity in soil samples from both anaerobic site and aerobic site in Zoige wetland using pmoA gene as a molecular marker. The cloning library was constructed according to the pmoA sequences detected. Four clusters of methanotrophs were detected. The phylogenetic tree showed that all four clusters detected were affiliated to type I methanotrophs. Two novel clusters (cluster 1, cluster 2) were found to relate to none of the recognized genera of methanotrophs. These clusters have no cultured representatives and reveal an ecological adaptation of particular uncultured methanotrophs in Zoige wetland. Two clusters were belonging to Methylobacter and Methylococcus separately. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis gel bands pattern retrieved from these two samples revealed that the community compositions of anaerobic soil and aerobic soil were different from each other while anaerobic soil showed a higher metanotrophs diversity. Real-time PCR assays of the two samples demonstrated that aerobic soil sample in Zoige wetland was 1.5 times as much copy numbers as anaerobic soil. These data illustrated that methanotrophs are a group of microorganisms influence the methane consumption in Zoige wetland.Juanli Yun Anzhou Ma Yaoming Li Guoqiang Zhuang Yanfen Wang Hongxun Zhang 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,8:6
Changes in soil microbial community response to precipitation events in a semi-arid steppe of the Xilin River Basin, China显示文摘In the context of climate change, precipitation is predicted to become more intense at the global scale. Such change may alter soil microbial communities and the microbially mediated carbon and nitrogen dynamics. In this study, we experimentally repackaged precipitation patterns during the growing season(from June to September) of 2012 in a semi-arid temperate steppe of the Xilin River Basin in Inner Mongolia of China, based on the 60-year growing season precipitation data. Specifically, a total amount of 240 mm simulated precipitation was assigned to experimental plots by taking the following treatments:(1) P6(6 extreme precipitation events, near the 1^(st) percentile);(2) P10(10 extreme precipitation events, near the 5^(th) percentile);(3) P16(16 moderate precipitation events, near the 50^(th) percentile); and(4) P24(24 events, 60-year average precipitation, near the 50^(th) percentile). At the end of the growing season, we analyzed soil microbial community structure and biomass, bacterial abundance, fungal abundance and bacterial composition, by using phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA), real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR) and 16S rRNA gene clone library methods. The extreme precipitation events did not change soil microbial community structure(represented by the ratio of PLFA concentration in fungi to PLFA concentration in bacteria, and the ratio of PLFA concentration in gram-positive bacterial biomass to PLFA concentration in gram-negative bacterial biomass). However, the extreme precipitation events significantly increased soil microbial activity(represented by soil microbial biomass nitrogen and soil bacterial 16S rRNA gene copy numbers). Soil fungal community showed no significant response to precipitation events. According to the redundancy analysis, both soil microbial biomass nitrogen and soil ammonium nitrogen(NH_4-N) were found to be significant in shaping soil microbial community. Acidobacteria, Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria were the dominant phyla in soil bacterial composition, and responded differently to the extreme precipitation events. Based on the results, we concluded that the extreme precipitation events altered the overall soil microbial activity, but did not impact how the processes would occur, since soil microbial community structure remained unchanged.ZHANG Hui LIU Wenjun KANG Xiaoming CUI Xiaoyong WANG Yanfen ZHAO Haitao QIAN Xiaoqing HAO Yanbin 2019Journal of Arid Land2019,11,1:5
Pore Structure Regulation of Carboxyethylated Microfibrillated Cellulose Films显示文摘Carboxyethylation is a recent chemical pretreatment for preparation of microfibrillated cellulose(MFC).The carboxyethylated MFC film prepared by coating method has compact structure and high mechanical properties. In order to expand its application, three approaches including using organic solvents, different drying methods and cationic additives, have been adopted in this paper to enrich and regulate the pore structure of MFC film. The results show that all the approaches can improve the pore structure but decrease the mechanical properties of MFC film. When organic solvents such as ethanol, isopropanol and n-butanol were used to replace the water in MFC suspension or pre-dried MFC film, the pore structure of films were increased.Additionally, the film obtained by freeze-drying or air-drying after freezing in liquid nitrogen or freezer has high porosity but poor strength. The best drying process is to rewet dry MFC film, freeze in liquid nitrogen and then freeze-dry.Moreover,the addition of cationic polyelectrolytes or alkene ketone dimer(AKD)in MFC suspension can also significantly increase the film's porosity.Through the above approaches, the porosity of carboxyethylated MFC film can be regulated between 20% and 90%.Meican Li Jinghuan Chen Jingang Liu Zehong Xu Yanqun Su Ruijuan Zhang Yanfen Du 2020Paper And Biomaterials2020,5,2:5
Adverse effects of metal exposure on chemotaxis towards water-soluble attractants regulated mainly by ASE sensory neuron in nematode Caenorhabditis elegans显示文摘Chemotaxis to water-soluble attractants is mainly controlled by ASE sensory neuron whose specification is regulated by che-1 in Caenorhabditis elegans. Our data suggested that exposure to high concentrations of metals, such as Pb, Cu, Ag, and Cr, would result in severe defects of chemotaxis to water-soluble attractants of NaCl, cAMP, and biotin. Moreover, the morphology of ASE neuron structures as observed by relative fluorescent intensities and relative size of fluorescent puncta of cell bodies, relative lengths of sensory endings in ASE neurons, and the expression patterns of che-1 were obviously altered in metal exposed animals when they meanwhile exhibited obvious chemotaxis defects to water-soluble attractants. In addition, the dendrite morphology could be noticeably changed in animals exposed to 150 μmol/L of Pb, Cu, and Ag. Furthermore, we observed significant decreases of chemotaxis to water-soluble attractants in Pb exposed che-1 mutant at concentrations more than 2.5 μmol/L, and in Cu, Ag, and Cr exposed che-1 mutant at concentrations more than 50 μmol/L. Therefore, impairment of the ASE neuron structures and functions may largely contribute to the appearance of chemotaxis defects to water-soluble attractants in metal exposed nematodes.XING Xiaojuan, DU Min, ZHANG Yanfen, WANG Dayong Key Laboratory of Developmental Genes and Human Disease in Ministry of Education, Department of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Southeast University Medical School, Nanjing 210009, China. 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,12:5
Diversity of culturable heterotrophic bacteria from the Mariana Trench and their ability to degrade macromolecules显示文摘The Mariana Trench is the deepest location on earth and harbors unique microbial communities as evidenced by 16S rRNA gene amplicon and metagenomic sequencing.Obtaining culturable microorganisms from the Mariana Trench will contribute to a further understanding of hadal biogeochemical processes and act as a unique microbial reservoir with potential applications.Here,825 bacterial strains, identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, were isolated from 12 water depths(0-10,400 m)of the Mariana Trench with 2216E and R2A media at 4℃ or 28℃ on four cruises during 2015-2017.These bacteria belong to four phyla, nine classes,27 orders,45 families and 108 genera.Alphaproteobacteria,Gammaproteobacteria,Actinobacteria_c,Bacilli and Flavobacteriia were the most abundant classes, accounting for 37.9%,33.0%,11.8%,8.6%and 8.0%of the total bacterial isolates,respectively.2216E and R2A media were found to have a better selectivity to Bacilli and Flavobacteriia, respectively.Fifty strains were potential novel bacterial species with a 16S rRNA gene similarity<98.65%,and a higher percentage of novel strains were obtained from R2A than 2216E medium.Additionally,301(150 species)out of 354 strains(178 species)selected from each depth could degrade at least one of the ten kinds of macromolecules tested. These results indicate that there is a high diversity of culturable bacteria in the Mariana Trench and they can produce a variety of extracellular enzymes. Our study provides a valuable resource of microorganisms for investigating their biogeochemical roles in the Mariana Trench and for industrial applications.Xiuxiu Zhao Jiwen Liu Shun Zhou Yanfen Zheng Yanhong Wu Kazuhiro Kogure Xiao-Hua Zhang 2020Marine Life Science & Technology2020,2,2:5
Development of high-resolution multiple-SNP arrays for genetic analyses and molecular breeding through genotyping by target sequencing and liquid chip显示文摘Genotyping platforms,as critical supports for genomics, genetics, and molecular breeding, have been well implemented at national institutions/universities in developed countries and multinational seed companies that possess high-throughput,automatic,large-scale,and shared facilities. In this study,we integrated an improved genotyping by target sequencing(GBTS)system with capture-in-solution(liquid chip)technology to develop a multiple single-nucleotide polymorphism(mSNP)approach in which mSNPs can be captured from a single amplicon. From one 40K maize mSNP panel,we developed three types of markers(40K mSNPs,251K SNPs,and 690K haplotypes),and generated multiple panels with various marker densities(1K–40K mSNPs)by sequencing at different depths.Comparative genetic diversity analysis was performed with genic versus intergenic markers and di-allelic SNPs versus non-typical SNPs.Compared with the one-amplicon-one-SNP system,mSNPs and within-mSNP haplotypes are more powerful for genetic diversity detection, linkage disequilibrium decay analysis, and genome-wide association studies. The technologies, protocols, and application scenarios developed for maize in this study will serve as a model for the development of mSNP arrays and highly efficient GBTS systems in animals, plants, and microorganisms.Zifeng Guo Quannv Yang Feifei Huang Hongjian Zheng Zhiqin Sang Yanfen Xu Cong Zhang Kunsheng Wu Jiajun Tao Boddupalli MPrasanna Michael SOlsen Yunbo Wang Jianan Zhang Yunbi Xu 2021Plant Communications2021,2,6:5
Dual-atom catalysts:controllable synthesis and electrocatalytic applications显示文摘Electrocatalysis,as the nexus for energy storage and environmental remediation, requires developing low-cost and highperforming heterogeneous catalysts.Compared with the single atom catalysts(SACs),dual-atom catalysts(DACs)are attracting ever-increasing interest due to their higher metal loading, more versatile active sites and unique reactivity. However, controlled synthesis of DACs remains a great challenge, and their electrocatalytic applications are still in infancy. This review first discusses the synthesis of DACs by highlighting several synthetic strategies.Subsequently,we exemplify the unique reactivities of DACs in electrocatalytic applications including water splitting, oxygen reduction, carbon dioxide reduction and nitrogen reduction. The structure-activity relations of DACs are specifically discussed in comparison with that of SACs,on the basis of experimental and theoretical studies. Finally, the opportunities and challenges of DACs are summarized in terms of rational design, controlled synthesis, characterization, and applications.Shengbo Zhang Yanfen Wu Yu-Xiao Zhang Zhiqiang Niu 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,11:4
Role and Mechanism of Action of Exogenous Salicylic Acid and Sodium Molybdate in Improving Cold Tolerance of Bougainvillea glabra显示文摘This study was conducted to comprehensively evaluate the effects of salicylic acid and sodium molybdate on cold tolerance of an ornamental plant Bougainvillea glabra and to provide a theoretical guidance for landscape maintenance.B.glabra plants were treated with 0.5 mmol/L salicylic acid and 2.0 μmol/L alone or in combination, and then exposed to low temperature stress before physiological indices were measured. The results showed that all salicylic acid and sodium molybdate treatments reduced the relative conductivity and malondialdehyde( MDA) content of B.glabra to varying extents under the stress of low temperature, and more significant effect was achieved by using the two agents in combination.Oxygen free radicals production rate increased with decreasing temperature from 20 to 6 ℃,but declined with temperature decreasing from 3 to-3 ℃.The SOD activity of the control( CK) was significantly lower than that of other treatments at 0 and-3 ℃.The treatments with salicylic acid and sodium molybdate alone and in combination increased POD activity of B.glabra plants, especially at 0 ℃,as the POD activity of treatments T1,T2 and T3 was significantly higher than that of CK at 0 ℃.In addition, under low temperature stress, the contents of soluble sugar, starch and proline increased initially and decreased subsequently with temperature decreasing. The soluble sugar content at 3 ℃,starch and proline contents at 0 and-3 ℃ in treatments with salicylic acid and sodium molybdate alone and in combination were significantly higher than those of CK.All above results proved that salicylic acid and sodium molybdate are able to improve cold tolerance of B.glabra, and better effect can be achieved by using them together.Yongfu ZHANG Yanfen NIU Shengjing PENG 2018Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,6:4
A pH-sensitive supramolecular nanosystem with chlorin e6 and triptolide co-delivery for chemo-photodynamic combination therapy显示文摘The combination of Ce6,an acknowledged photosensitizer, and TPL,a natural anticancer agent, has been demonstrated as a useful strategy to reinforce the tumor growth suppression,as well as decrease the systemic side effects compared with their monotherapy. However,in view of the optimal chemo-photodynamic combination efficiency, there is still short of the feasible nanovehicle to steadily co-deliver Ce6 and TPL,and stimuli-responsively burst release drugs in tumor site.Herein,we described the synergistic antitumor performance of a pH-sensitive supramolecular nanosystem, mediated by the host–guest complexing betweenβ-CD and acid pH-responsive amphiphilic co-polymer mPEG-PBAE-mPEG,showing the shell–core structural micelles with the tightβ-CD layer coating. Both Ce6 and TPLwere facilely co-loaded into the spherical supramolecular NPs(TPL+Ce6/NPs)by one-step nanoprecipitation method, with an ideal particle size(156.0 nm),acid pH-responsive drug release profile, and enhanced cellular internalization capacity. In view of the combination benefit of photodynamic therapy and chemotherapy,as well as co-encapsulation in the fabricated pH-sensitive supramolecular NPs,TPL+Ce6/NPs exhibited significant efficacy to suppress cellular proliferation, boost ROS level, lower MMP,and promote cellular apoptosis in vitro.Particularly, fluorescence imaging revealed that TPL+Ce6/NPs preferentially accumulated in the tumor tissue area, with higher intensity than that of free Ce6.As expected, upon 650-nm laser irradiation,TPL+Ce6/NPs exhibited a cascade of amplified synergistic chemo-photodynamic therapeutic benefits to suppress tumor progression in both hepatoma H22 tumor-bearingmice and B16 tumor-bearingmice.More importantly, lower systemic toxicitywas found in the tumor-bearingmice treated with TPL+Ce6/NPs.Overall,the designed supramolecular TPL+Ce6/NPs provided a promising alternative approach for chemo-photodynamic therapy in tumor treatment.Yihan Wu Jingjing Li Xuemei Zhong Jinfeng Shi Yanfen Cheng Chenglin He Jiaxin Li Liang Zou Chaomei Fu Meiwan Chen Jinming Zhang Huile Gao 2022Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2022,17,2:4
Received signal strength based indoor positioning algorithm using advanced clustering and kernel ridge regression显示文摘We propose a novel indoor positioning algorithm based on the received signal strength(RSS) fingerprint. The proposed algorithm can be divided into three steps, an offline phase at which an advanced clustering(AC) strategy is used, an online phase of approximate localization at which cluster matching is used, and an online phase of precise localization with kernel ridge regression. Specifically, after offline fingerprint collection and similarity measurement, we employ an AC strategy based on the K-medoids clustering algorithm using additional reference points that are geographically located at the outer cluster boundary to enrich the data of each cluster. During the approximate localization, RSS measurements are compared with the cluster radio maps to determine to which cluster the target most likely belongs. Both the Euclidean distance of the RSSs and the Hamming distance of the coverage vectors between the observations and training records are explored for cluster matching. Then, a kernel-based ridge regression method is used to obtain the ultimate positioning of the target. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated in two typical indoor environments, and compared with those of state-of-the-art algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed algorithm in terms of positioning accuracy and complexity.Yanfen LE Hena ZHANG Weibin SHI Heng YAO 2021Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2021,22,6:3
Control Efficacy of 45% Propamocarb·Denamidone SC against Potato Late Blight显示文摘The effects of different doses of 45% propamocarb·fenamidone SC on potato late blight were studied in the paper. The results showed that the overall control effect of 45% propamocarb·fenamidone SC against potato late blight on the 14 th day after the third spraying were 67. 64%- 83. 78%. The yield of potato reached 19 972. 5- 23 302. 5 kg / hm2,with higher marketable tuber rate and lower rotten tuber rate. 20Eco-friendly PVA/Kaolin Clay Coating for Barrier Paper显示文摘The resistance of wood-fiber paper to water, grease, and water vapor is usually attained by immersing the base paper in hydrophobic oil, laminating with a plastic or metal film, or the application of a barrier coating. Oil impregnation and the addition of films may make the paper difficult to recycle or persistent in the environment owing to their strong binding force and nondegradability. Environmental concerns have attracted worldwide attention to eco-friendly barrier coatings. In this study, degradable polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) and kaolin clay pigment were used to prepare coatings that were applied to a base paper. By measuring the barrier properties of the coated paper, including the water absorptiveness(Cobb60 value), Hercules sizing degree, oil resistance(Kit rating), and water vapor transmission rate(WVTR), an optimal coating formulation and process were proposed. To examine the barrier mechanism of the PVA/kaolin clay coating, we characterized the coating microstructures using a scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and a mercury porosimeter. The results showed that the Cobb60 value and water vapor transmission rate of the coated paper decreased by 61.4% and 98.6%, respectively, compared with the base paper, for a pre-coating weight of 0.98 g/m^2 and a top-coating weight of about 3.23 g/m^2. Furthermore, the Hercules sizing degree rose by a factor of 337.2, while the oil resistance(Kit rating) increased from 0 to 12. The optimum drying temperature for a wet coating layer was found to be 170℃, and the optimum weight ratio of PVA to kaolin clay in the coating was determined to be 50∶50. It was assumed that the PVA/kaolin clay coating improved the smoothness of the paper considerably and decreased the pore size by filling the pores on the paper surface and forming an even film, thus enhancing the paper barrier performance. The coated paper also exhibited good repulpability.YanFen Du JinGang Liu JiaFu Wang YanQun Su HongCai Li BiSong wang RuiJuan Zhang 2017Paper And Biomaterials2017,2,2:3
