1Effects of Soil Types and Moisture Contents on Emergence Rate of Contarinia morulae Jiang显示文摘In order to explore the relationship between soil moisture content and the severity of occurrence of Contarinia morulae Jiang,the effects of different soil types and moisture contents on the emergence rate of C. morulae were investigated. The results showed that soil moisture contents had a significant effect on the emergence rate of C. morulae. When the soil moisture content was 10%,the emergence rate of C. morulae was the highest in both soil types. When the soil moisture content was too high or too low,the emergence rate of C. morulae was significantly reduced. Within the suitable water content range,the emergence rate of C. morulae in sandy soil was significantly higher than that in sandy loam soil. The trend of emergence of C. morulae in the two soil types was basically the same. 2An accurate single descriptor for ion-πinteractions显示文摘Non-covalent interactions between ions andπsystems play an important role in molecular recognition,catalysis and biology.To guide the screen and design for artificial hosts,catalysts and drug delivery,understanding the physical nature of ion-πcomplexes via descriptors is indispensable.However,even with multiple descriptors that contain the leading term of electrostatic and polarized interactions,the quantitative description for the binding energies(BEs)of ion-πcomplexes is still lacking because of the intrinsic shortcomings of the commonly used descriptors.Here,we have shown that the impartment of orbital details into the electrostatic energy(coined as OEE)makes an excellent single descriptor for BEs of not only spherical,but also multiply-shaped,ion-πsystems,highlighting the importance of an accurate description of the electrostatic interactions.Our results have further demonstrated that OEEs from a low-level method could be calibrated to BEs from a high-level method,offering a powerful practical strategy for an accurate prediction of a set of ion-πinteractions.Zhangyun Liu Zheng Chen Jinyang Xi Xin Xu 2020National Science Review2020,7,6:0
3New Insights into the Ion-Specific Behaviors and Design Strategies for Ion–πInteractions显示文摘Ion–πinteractions play a critical role in many important biological processes,such as gene expression,nicotine addiction,ion channel function,and so on,through recognizing specific ions by the receptors.However,widely used models,such as electrostatic potential and quadrupole moment,either treat ions as point charges or consider arenes only such that the key role of the information carried by ions is rarely discussed.Here,we shed light on the ion specificities in ion–πinteractions by correlating binding energies to a new model,namely the orbital electrostatic energy(OEE),which describes the electrostatic properties of both ions and theπsystems in detail via electron density distributions on orbitals.With this more detailed descriptor of electrostatics,new insights behind several important experimental and theoretical behaviors of ion–πinteractions are revealed,which will provide a deeper understanding of molecular recognition and communication through ion–πinteractions.On top of the OEE model,an ion-specific design strategy is proposed.Zhangyun Liu Zheng Chen Xin Xu 2021CCS Chemistry2021,3,3:0
